DJ Restaurant in Ingleburn is nothing short of sensational. Been coming here ever since I moved into the area, and it hands down is my favourite restaurant out of any cuisine in the Liverpool-Campbelltown belt. Outstanding food, friendly & fast service, and excellent value for money and overall prices. The place to go for Vietnamese cuisine in South West Sydney outside of Cabramatta.
The pho is extraordinary. Big, bold, and consistent flavours in the broth – which is so flavoursome and delicious you could drink it on its own like a tea (which I’m guilty of doing) . Rare beef is exactly that, served raw whether eaten in or taken away allowing you to poach the beef in the broth to your own liking. The noodles are al dente and you get a generous serving of fresh mint, hoisin/siracha sauce, good chunk of lemon, and a big serving of bean sprouts to garnish with. I would love to try and get through their entire menu. I’ve seen other customer eating other dishes which look wonderful, but I return for the Pho as it’s simply a guilty pleasure of mine.
The missus and I also usually get a serving of the fresh prawn rice paper rolls, and (if they have it available) the crispy fried quail. The rice paper rolls are great quality. Fresh made to order, the prawns taste fresh and not frozen and the vermicelli noodles give as nice crunch. Usually get 4 (2 each) so makes a nice starter. Served with them is a nice peanut sauce – which whilst a nice dipping sauce in general I don’t usually use too much of as it can be a little overpowering and take away from the flavours in the roll itself. Do yourself as favour however and order the crispy quail, it’s some of the best quail I’ve had at Vietnamese restaurants. A whole quail in 4 pieces, deep fried. The meat is incredibly tender and juicy and the skin crunchy and light. It’s like fried chicken but without the guilt and in my opinion a better flavour. It’s served with a really nice onion, carrot and cabbage salad which is good by itself.
If eating in, especially on weekends head in early as the place is only small and fills out pretty quickly. Having said that, you’re probably not going to wait longer than about half an hour as the food is served swiftly. The service is friendly and fast and overall cost – aforementioned meal which is our normal go to (2 pho, 1 serving rice paper rolls & deep-fried quail) came to exactly $50. The portion sizes are large which makes it great value for money. An excellent restaurant, which has been and will continue to be as regular haunt for a great local meal.
One of the few Vietnamese places outside the Cabramatta/Canley Vale area that know how to do good Vietnamese food at affordable prices. I've been here on multiple occasions with colleagues and numerous dishes have been great (pho, bun bo hue, bun cha gio thit nuong). Would recommend for anyone in the area!
Nice cozy little place. Menu is quite good and they have a quite few selection of pho. Doesn't burn hole in the pocket, menu is reasonably priced and serving size is quite big. Head to this place for some seriously yummy pho on a cold day!
