I’ve been meaning to try Chakra for a while, it’s one of those restaurants that keeps popping up in my newsfeeds, and I was intrigued by their modern take on Indian cuisine. It’s an impressive modern restaurant on the corner of Beaufort Street and Seventh Avenue, with tables inside and out, and gas heaters for winter. The fit out is very stylish, with low lighting and candles – lovely for a romantic dinner. We were warmly greeted by the manager who seated us by the window, and it was nice touch to have a place card set up for me.

Really enjoyable dining experience at this Indian restaurant tucked away on the quieter part of Beaufort street. Restaurant was packed on a weeknight (encouraging sign) but we had made a reservation (highly recommend). We were greeted & seated by polite staff and mini iPads with the menu were given to us to peruse. Staff patiently explained the menu & gave recommendations and we settled on:
- Butter Paneer kulcha (tasty)
- Pani puri paddle (nice, a bit harder to share though & a touch messy)
- Burnt aubergine with lamb (very good)
- Special pot set chicken biryani (delicious)
- Cheese & garlic naan (very good)
Little touches like the hand written welcome sign with our names, complimentary starter and a complimentary tasting spoon mid way made the experience different, fun and set them apart from the run of the mill Indian restaurants we are used to. Menu is modern/contemporary Indian with a twist on traditional dishes (but they still offer the usual butter chicken, paneer etc if you’re not feeling adventurous). Service was excellent with staff checking in on us at regular intervals, ambience of the restaurant was good & pricing was reasonable. Very much worth a visit.
Dishes were all delicious and generous in portions. Service was friendly. We dined to celebrate two birthdays and were surprised to find personalized cards on the table when we arrived. As well as a little gift. Lovely gesture indeed!
This place was fantastic.!! We tried 8 different dishes, all of which were amazing !!! The service was top notch and attentive with the waiter and the waitress being right there if we needed anything . You get given a small iPad with your menu to scroll through each which was pretty cool.
Loved it, looking forward to going back .

I cannot recommend this restaurant more. The kind and lovely service was so amazing. They were constantly asking to ensure we were happy with everything. They even asked asked if it was a special occasion and to out surprise even brought out a special desert and candle for the birthday boy, as well as a gift, card and special hat for him to wear. The owners are a husband and wife team and you could not meet sweeter, kinder people. They were so lovely and caring towards the kids, made sure they were entertained and were even talking to them with such kindness. The service alone, and the attention to detail would bring me back to this restaurant. Thank you for the lovely complimentary treats you brought out.
The food was sensational! The presentation exceptional. Drinks were beautiful.
Well done on creating such an amazing restaurant and ensuring not only the food is exceptional, but also the service was second to none. You should be proud of what you have created. A stand out dining experience for sure!

We tried a variety of dishes across their traditional and modern menu and everything was delish!
Best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Options for vegan and vegetarian are also heaps. Presentation is classy. Most importantly, no color, no artificial cream etc. Pure indian feel. I felt light even after eating. Must try cheese garlic and khamiri naan. Also, Palak panir OMG.... Yummy.. totally different flavour. Well done. i am glad I found it.
This place is the absolute definition of amazing dining experience, from most personable service to most delicious and authentic food. We decided to give this place a try as we had a coupon but this place just blew us away so we didn’t even bother with a coupon. We had prawn madras, butter chicken, duck entre and chocolate surprise dessert.
A delightful mix between modern Indian and traditional Indian. Possibly the most accommodating staff I’ve ever encountered! They cater to all kinds of dietary needs - even my father who can’t have lactose, gluten, cardamom, tomato or chilli. They deliver excellent food for a very reasonable price based on the location. Do yourself a favour and hit them up for a special night out. Not your casual take away joint but they do offer this side of things if you wish.
Once again this Restaurant has outdone itself!!!! We went as a party of 14 for a friends birthday meal. Not one meal failed to deliver on flavour and excellence!!!! Waitstaff and front of house exceptional!!!!! I would not fail to recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!!

Tastefully designed restaurant run by very friendly and accommodating hosts and staff. Everything was explained clearly to us and our host was very thoughtful from the moment he opened the door for us until we left. Signature dishes are a must! The cocktails are also very well thought out and tasty!
Dined here last night recommended by a friend. Service was friendly and efficient (loved the ordering iPads) food was fabulous! Stand out was butter chicken and pans cotta was so delicious. Thoroughly recommend

Everything about this restaurant from the stunning decor to the friendly and efficient staff is excellent. A beautiful gold placecard on your table with your name handwritten on it is the first sign that you're about to enjoy a wonderful dining experience. The iPad-based menu complete with pictures and descriptions is equally as wow (although the kids thought it was a play toy initially). The iPad allows diners to place their order direct with the kitchen; alternatively, you can do things the traditional way and have a waiter take your order.
Complimentary (and completely unexpected) starters - gluten-free papadums and tamarind sauce served separately for our coeliacs and deep-fried wholemeal crackers with tamarind sauce for the rest of our group - were just the beginning of what was already a delightful night.
A complimentary amuse bouche followed - delectable little pani puri shots (a touch of tequila added to mine and the kids got a tequila-free shot but no puri on account of the gluten) to cleanse our palates for the main course.
We ordered a beef vindaloo (easily one of the best we've tried in Perth), lamb korma, vegetable korma, aromatic basmati rice (not as aromatic as we've had in the past), plain naan (slightly dry, slightly tough... not fluffy as expected), stuffed naan (buttery and awesome), and the first gluten-free stuffed naan we have ever come across - perfect for our coeliac kids who always have to miss enjoying bread on the side of their rice and curry. The attention paid to GF here is really impressive.
I ordered a jaggery espresso martini served in the biggest stainless steel "glass" so great value for $16 but creamier and less espresso-y than I'm used to with this cocktail. We also had a bottle of sparkling water ($7) and tap water.
Apart from the rice and dry naan, everything else on the night was superb and we paid a paltry $127 for 5 people which we thought was pretty good value.
Chakra is every bit as superb as the Insta photos... can't wait to come back and try something different. 5 stars easily.
What an amazing restaurant Chakra is. The service was amazing, the food was delicious and the catering to peoples dietry needs was beyond professional. Thankyou to the team at Chakra for making my birthday so special. We will be back again in the near future. :-)

We were recommended this place by one of our friends and decided to have a family dinner last night. I could feel the positivity and happiness from the moment we made a reservation for five of us. It was such a delightful welcome at the door and our table had a lovely personal welcome note. I have never seen such a personalized welcome ever. We were handed over tablets and menu was explained meticulously and so gently by staff. Everyone at the place had a passion which could be sensed. We tried their cocktails- karma and expresso martini as recommended by staff. I relished them to the core and so did everyone on the table. We ordered shared platter and deconstructed samosa cones to start with. Food was truly a delight to all five senses. It was amazingly presented and scrumptious. We were excited about our mains too. But what took our excitement to next level was Amuse Bouche- a little palate cleanser. It was magically flavorsome and had seen something like this for the first time. It was truly refreshing. Our mains, specially the Chicken Biryani and Goat were mouthwatering. Everything on the table was so flavorsome. We have had one of the loveliest evenings in a very long time. Tried Chakra not knowing much about the concept but was blown away! The creative menu blends innovativation with old favourites and everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The attentive service, novel ordering system and extras on the table made this an excellent experience.
I have eaten in a lot of places, and dont often write reviews. But this place got me writing a review. They send a personalised text asking about dietary requirements before you arrive, at my sisters bday they often a free little cake with the staff singing happy bday, they were 10/10 attentive, gave my sister a free gift, and the food was uniquely flavoured, amazing, and by far one of the best Indian I have ever have. 11/10
I’ve just had THE most incredible dining experience ever at Chakra Restaurant. From the politely opened door when we entered, the lovely ambience of the restaurant, the friendly and incredibly accommodating staff, and of course, the delicious array of flavours among the extensive menu.
I can not rate this experience highly enough and will be urging friends and family to enjoy the sensory pleasures that Chakra Restaurant has to offer.
The staff are so helpful, knowledgeable, thoughtful and attentive. They patiently explained aspects of the menu and our dining experience with us. Their pride and passion for the food and service they provide is evident.
Thank you to all of the wonderful staff who made my birthday dinner a treat that I will not soon forget! Your generosity, service and delicious meals were exceptional.

What a refreshingly wonderful experience. The service is an absolute winner! We were greeted by a friendly hostess who elaborates on the menu and even gave us complimentary pani puri shots. There is so much flexibility in terms of spice level, personal preferences and great attention to accommodate allergies and intolerances, which I have not come across elsewhere. The food closely resembles home cooked cuisine without the unnecessary colourings. We ordered a number of dishes. The chicken biryani was authentic, but could've done with more meat. The veg chettinad was spicy and delicious! The deconstructed samosas are definately insta worthy, but fails to impress the palate. The lamb had more fat than meat. However, the grilled scallops and lamb aubergine hit the mark. 100% would recommend and revisit, especially for an occasion.
Polite staff that educate you about the food and how it is made. A nice ambient atmosphere. Complimentary snacks are always a win and I recommend the Espresso 🤤
We attended this restaurant on a Thursday night and it was very busy. No wonder the food was authentic - some of our table had traditional curries and some had modern Indian food. With the vegetarian option all were catered for. The staff were very attentive and happy to spend time explaining what certain curries contained and we were given a choice of level of spices. Would like to have sampled the desserts as they sounded delicious but had the shared entree which was for two but was plenty for four.

the dishes all presented well and small brass/copper bowls. The staff explained the menu to us. It is byo so it made it easy for us to have the right wine for spicy food.
I had an amazing experience at the restaurant last weekend. I dined with a few people for a friends birthday and as a group, we could not fault the experience.
The food was absolutely delicious and inclusive of a large range of vegetarian and vegan food. The staff was amazing and there was a great atmosphere.

Date night is always tricky with my bf being vegan but their vegan menu is well put together and delicious!!
The Mother's Day set menu ($69 per adult) was served with love and in vast amounts, the team made sure things weren't too spicy for those that ordered mild and offered a lassi drink in case it was.

Mid week dinner waiting for junior to finish work. No booking but no problem for the friendly hosts. We shared the amazing mixed entree served on a 2 foot high spike. It had chicken tikka, oven roasted capsicum and onion, lamb kebabs and roasted paneer. No need for mains but they were already ordered. Free range chicken roulade and slow cooked dahl makhni. Junior had the butter chicken kids serve. I missed the pani puri but apparently it was good too. No complaints at all and next time i would order less and leave toom fir dessert! Thanks to the entertainment book we got all that with a 25% discount for well under $100! Go here, you'll like it.
Had an incredible birthday dinner here. Great selection of modern and traditional Indian. Tasty, flavoursome and hefty portions. Great for vegetarians and vegans. I especially recommend this place as the service is absolutely amazing. The owners are very warm and welcoming. Such nice people who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I was also blown away by the amount of complimentary extras and other kind gestures (not to mention a personalised birthday card!) that were thrown in with our meals. Even when we were about to leave we were demanded to sit back at our table to enjoy an Indian dessert. They even gave me a birthday gift to take home... crazy!!!! Would 100% recommend the Chakra experience.

Chakra is a modern Indian restaurant located at the corner of Seventh Ave and Beaufort St. I drove past the area million times but never really noticed it. One day we were invited to dine at Chakra. The experience was outstanding that we went again for the second time. After dining twice at Chakra and tried some of their dishes, I can confidently outlay top 5 items to try from Chakra:
Friendly, attentive service - very warm and inviting. The decor is is amazing! The complimentary palate cleanser was delicious!! Husband, who is a vindaloo guru, said it was the best he's had. My son's butter chicken was good. I had chicken dish - chicken was great, just wasn't crazy about the butter chicken sauce it came in, I think it needed a different sauce. All in all though, it was a wonderful experience - can't remember having had such warm, friendly service anywhere is Perth!

Went for dinner without a reservation and was greeted with amazing and accomodating service. We had a pram in tow and they found the best table for us and removed excess furniture to make us comfortable. The food was amazing and easily the best Indian we’ve eaten. We will definitely be returning and making this one of our regulars. Courtney
Everything was so delicious! This time we went for the traditional but the modern twist looks very interesting and will definitely try it next time. The cumin infused lemonade was different but very tasty not something you can try everywhere here in Perth. Also it was so hard to choose a dessert! they all sounded so yummy, we chose the panna cotta and we loved it! But again we will come back for the other ones. To finish I have to say I was very impressed with the service, everyone was so friendly, welcoming and caring.
All I can say is wow ! What Fantastic service. Our meals were delicious and different. A refreshing alternate presentation of Indian cuisine.

Visited Chakra and had an amazing time. I was welcomed warmly and shown to my table that had a hand written reservation. Food tasted so good, would definately visit this place again.
I tried the paneer cone and a barramundi dish. Loved it. Would like to try the other dishes that others have recommended like the naan.
I have been here twice now. Everything is oustanding! Firstly, the staff are very welcoming and also very knowledgeable. The food is also excellent. We enjoyed the complimentary starters and also the palette cleanser before our meal - what a great touch! We had the mixed platter for entree - wow is all I can say. Not only was it tasty, the presentation was beautiful. We then had malai kofta and butter chicken for mains which were also delicious!
If you get the chance to go here, I also recommend that you try their cocktails. I had a mule and my husband had an old fashioned and a chilli margarita - all had a traditional Indian twist and were very delicious!

We tried Chakra on a chilly Saturday night and made a booking for 4 by phone that morning. Even the voice on the phone was warm and friendly. As we arrived, the restaurant was an explosion of colour - traditional Indian décor themes, but with a contemporary twist. The same goes for the food! They say first impressions count for a lot. To be shown to our table and find the usual "Reserved" sign replaced with a hand-written, personalised note welcoming me and my party was a simple but impressive first step. We ordered a range of dishes to share between 4 from both the traditional "curry" side of the menu and the more enticing contemporary selection. Everything was superb, from the puffed up Naans, the Cumin steamed vegetables, the Malai Kofta with amazing sticky black rice and through the Lamb Korma and Palak Paneer. Our waitress was sweet and helpful and both owners, a husband and wife team made us feel so welcome. They even brought around, on 2 occasions, "amuse bouche" trays, featuring lovely little morsels that they described as "pods". A sort of Pappadum in a hollow ball, filled with something lovely. A taste explosion! We were full to the brim, it is BYO wine and cost under $80 a couple. Fantastic!
Chakra is a new Indian restaurant in Inglewood and to which we were invited to try out a range of their dishes. It is a beautifully set up place on the corner of Beaufort St and Seventh Avenue, with Indian furnishings, lights and colour adding to its allure. The owners, Sonia and Kumar, were the epitome of good hosts, welcoming us and running through the menu with us and highlighting their cooking philosophy – whole spices in lieu of ground, mild chilli to allow the delicate flavours and aromas to emerge.
Chakra is a new spot on Beaufort St. We were welcomed into the stylish dining room, adorned with Indian lanterns and plush red and gold, by our hosts Sonia and Kumar. Chakra is very inviting and a lot more on trend than your average suburban Indian eatery. Chakra is best described as a modern Indian. In the words of Sonia it’s “Indian-ish”. Whilst the methods of cooking and recipes remain authentic, the modern presentation freshens it up and gives the food a fresh breath of life.
We were treated to great service and tasty, fresh cuisine when our family celebrated a recent birthday at the newly opened Chakra restaurant. Use of whole spices such as star anise and innovative signature dishes set this menu apart from traditional Indian offerings. I was enticed to elevate my chakra by choosing the Malai Kofta in Korma Gravy with Black Rice and Sago Pappadum. It was refined and delicately flavoured with the rice giving it a contemporary twist. Add a generous serve of Beetroot yoghurt and I was hooked.
We were really made to feel welcome and I look forward to returning to try more from this exciting menu.

Lovely high end Indian restaurant. Great decor, food and decor. The menu is small but sufficient. The food is a twist on traditional Indian food. Evidently by the taste, it is prepared with care and love. They have their own stylised cocktails which are also quite nice. We were walk ins on a Saturday evening. It was nearly at capacity by 7:30pm. Expect to pay $35-40 per person for entree and main course excluding drinks.
What a restaurant. The curries here are delicious. In fact, everything here is delicious. Check out those beef samosas. Wow.

Dining at Chakra is a wonderful experience. Customer service is exceptional, and the food is divine. This is by far the best Indian I have tried in Perth. The fresh ingredients and spices really stand out, and no artificial colouring or flavourings are used. We dined here yesterday and ordered some dishes which we had never experienced before. Most dishes we ordered were vegetarian, apart from the wild caught barramundi, all were superb! Oh and the cocktails....amazing! Thank you to the staff at Chakra!
Christmas Day lunch special.
Excellent service. Attentive staff. Well planned 6course menu. Potato nest chat, duck bonda, pani puri very delicious . Chicken naan taco was tasty but found the naan slightly chewy. Dhaba style chicken dish was rustic and delicious . The eggplant and lamb main was salty but the staff happily replaced the meal with a less saltier version which was delicious. Desserts were the best part. All in all great experience.
Amazing Indian food. The best beef samosas I've ever had. And the fact you can choose your spice levels is a game changer. In Australia, curries are bland. Not here. The spicy butter chicken was a revelation.

Had an absolutely wonderful time at Chakra for my birthday dinner. The meals were all delicious, with some nice complimentary snacks and Panipuri shots alongside the meal.
We ordered the beef samosa cones, butter chicken, pot of Biryani (this was the favourite), mango lassi, masala chai tea and brownie with rose ice cream.
Staff were great, super friendly and courteous. They even offered me a small gift and prepared a hand written card for my birthday!
Highly recommend, we will be back for sure.
The food was outstanding, the service could not fault as they were attentive, explaining the different foods and flavours, I had the shot drink platters of which was enjoyable to drink, flavours yum, I had a wild caught barramundi with the most beautiful flavour, there was goat, briyani, butter chicken, and the entrees cannot even remember. Best Indian food in Perth, hands down. Ordered jackfruit-tofu parcels for entree, tried the pani puri shots with tequila, lamb-aubergine bharta and duck korma for mains and everything was impeccable including the service, quality, portion sizes, spices and speed. Went perfectly with the saffron infused Karma G&T and Guru amaretto cocktail. Highly recommend! As good as Michelin starred Indian cuisine I’ve had elsewhere.
