Jolly good Indian in Bedford have Paneer Butter Masala butter naan lamb Soya Chaap masala dal makhani and some very good amount of butter in it
We got take away from Jolly Good Indian last night, we had the Naan Bread, Dahl and the Butter Chicken. The Dahl was excellent, so full of flavour and delicious! The chicken in the butter chicken was so tender too. Great garlic naan too really nice and chewy and soft as I like it with a good amount of garlic. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!
Curry was nice, the naans were a bit strange, like something you'd buy at the freezer section of a shop. Service was good until I had to wait over 10 minutes to ask for someone to our our leftovers in a takeaway bag. Nice atmosphere, decent price.
big shoutout to their butter chicken, my all times favourite 😍 especially when it's extra hot. Love their garlic naan too !! the service was good and the price was reasonable. will definitely come back ❣️
Yummy yummy tasty curries. It was my first time trying Indian curry. It tastes different to what my mom makes as she makes hers Malay style. The gArlic Nann goes very well with the curry. Definitely would go again
The food was delicious and between so many great options, we got some vegan and gluten free and it was excellent. It's a really good place to spend some time with friends.
Had a nice meal here. Entrees were good. The sauces were tasty. Some of the meat was about dry but overall good. The venue is nice
The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Overall a 7/10 is our reflection.
Best Indian Restaurant. Food is so delicious. Been there on a very busy night and we got our food quickly. The staffs are very nice. I had the Lamb Bhuna Masala and my partner had the Fish Curry accompanued with the pilau rice and garlic naan. Definitely going back and recommend it to everyone.:)
Came here on a weeknight and had a very enjoyable dinner. The service was absolutely top notch and food was amazing. Full flavour to the curries and the naan bread had just the right amount of garlic and crunch. There was a nice romantic ambience as well with lit candles and dim lighting. We were very impressed by the waitress who served us that night. She memorised all the dishes we ordered perfectly, made sure our table water was refilled and checked whether we wanted our dishes more spicy. This has now become the place we will go to when we feel like having Indian food.
Jolly Good Indian has the BEST palak paneer in Perth. This is the stand out dish that I come back for every time. It's so fresh and vibrant compared to others I've tried. Everything else is not bad.
Jolly good Indian is the Indian place to be... Beef masala and lamb bhuna are my favourites... I have been trying a few dishes from there and I have never been disappointed... The service has always been awesome ... If I have to recommend a chicken dish it will be the chicken jal frezi and delicious full of flavour fish curry
The service was friendly, warm and welcoming. Food was delicious and perfect portion size. The place was cute, quaint and clean. Loved that they were willing to cater to vegans/vegetarians so easily!
I eat Indian at this restaurant often. I have never been disappointed. Great little restaurant in Inglewood with tasty food both dine in and takeaway.
Tonight it was busy but takeaway still came out smoothly. I had butter chicken again (my favourite!!!), made extra extra extra hot because I love it really hot. It went well, wrapped with roti paratha, raita, kachumba and chopped chilli. My partner had the potato dish and that was superb. Easily Jolly Good Indian! Would recommend to anyone who wants an easy Indian dinner.
Went there last night with a large group on Groupon . I have eaten here many times before and could not fault it. Last night was no exception . Food was great and plentiful, service was prompt and efficient and overall atmosphere was very friendly. This restaurant definitely scored a number of new customers last night. Well done Jolly Good Indian!
Can't understand how anyone could complain about the servings; we had lots.
IS A LITTLE GEM !!! The best Indian food, good portion sized meals, Gluten Free friendly, service, atmosphere! My Partner & I love that it is a quaint little restaurant! In an excellent location for parking.
Oh my this is jolly good Indian. When ever I'm feeling Indian and I'm already my mate place we always end on the Jolly at a reasonable price and top quality your always on a winner!!
Best Indian food in Perth. I go to Jolly Good Indian so many times and the food is always awesome. I do recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy a very good indian food in a cozy 1940 house. It's a must to go.
Jolly good Indian - say no more!. Probably the best named restaurant in Perth which really needs no further comment or endorsement. But I will say it is small, intimate, modest and friendly, and let's the food speak for itself!
On a really cold winter day like these days, it's definitely a good idea to eat something hearty and warm. Especially being preggo, food is becoming pretty bland. Thankfully, Indian food makes up for that with it being pretty strong and flavoursome.
A few nights ago, I had a small gathering with friends. Please be warned that even with the interior lighting, it does seem like it is closed but it isn't. We ordered the Green Chicken Curry special, chicken korma, beef vindaloo along with flaky roti (raita too) and pilau rice. Both the chicken curries were creamy though it was weird they were serving a Thai dish at an Indian venue. Nonetheless, it was beautiful. The only fault I had was I wished it was spicier. Roti definitely should be served with raita cause it goes together like best friends.
Overall, I would recommend this Indian place to those seeking a hearty and warm dish for this horrible winter. Hope to see you again JGI.
Just had dinner here and we were really impressed with the food. Everything was fresh and not at all oily. Service was excellent. Will be back!
This is my favourite Indian joint in the area, hands down. The curries are delicious and beautifully balanced. You have to try the creamy potato curry! It's a small, cozy restaurant so don't count on walking in and getting a table. I usually get take away (it works out cheaper too).
Really good, don't mind waiting longer
Awesome!!. From a person who has always said "I Hate Indian" I've gotta say, I'm now a convert. this place makes the BEST Indian I have ever had. I'm also Gluten Free (and have IBS) and had no problems from eating their delicious Curries. Big thumbs up to the Butter Chicken and Chicken Briyani! Keep up the good work guys!
Best Indian in Perth. I'm a huge fan of this place. The food is very unPerth - reasonably priced and tasty! The service isgreat. The setting is cosy and gorgeous - an old converted house. Well done guys.
LOVE Jolly Goods food absolutely yummy and tasty every time. Butter chicken is perfectly tender and a great size and the garlic naan is a sufficient size. Only eat here!
I've Been to this place a number of times and have always had a good meal.
Super food!. Great food, love the spicy chick peas and the aubergine dishes. Always good service.
Didn't like the big TV flickering away right behind me. I like a dinner without the TV on - there is more to life!!
Always great fun night!! Can't beat the spicy food
Jolly Good Indian Indeed. This has got to be my FAVOURITE Indian place in Perth I go quite often with my Boyfriend and his father for a wine and glutton induced family dinner. Love how it's BYO we get to bring our favourite bottle of shiraz or merlot to go with our favourite dishes. Jolly Good are so accommodating we always ring last minute and they always manage to squeeze us in, we are usually the last to leave and never 'rush us'
They make my boyfriend's father his favourite dish Saag Chicken it's not even on the menu. My personal favourite dish is the Chana Masala, I confess, I have an obsession with chick peas but they do this dish perfectly I have never had better! Fantastic place in Inglewood I like how they're just down the road from busy sometimes pretentious Mount Lawley and could beat 2 Fat Indians any day.
Love it. This is my favourite indian restaurant in perth.I usually order butter chicken and rice it is to die for.I would defiantly go there again
Audrey Thomson. Best Indian outside of my Mum's.....
We have been saying "one night we will go there" for 2 years... Tonight we got takeaway and it was, by far, the best Indian food we have ever had, my 13 yr old daughter loved it so much! Very impressed, we will be back soon :)
Lovely Valentines Meal. We went for dinner yesterday and really enjoyed the meal. My husband had Lamb Rogan Josh and I had the mixed veggie shabji, we shared an aloo bhazi, pilau rice and a naan. I ordered mild but probably should have gone for medium, the portion sizes were generous. Everything tasted fresh and home cooked with gorgeous flavour, the bill was a nice surprise as not too pricey but BYO beer helped with that I'm sure. The service was good and the owner was very attentive without being intrusive. The only downside..... no aircon, it had been a 40 degree day and the little floor standing fan just didn't cut it. The decor is very pleasant and the tables not too close together, the separate small rooms make for a nice touch too. Overall, great, I want to go again tomorrow, just install some A/C split systems for the Perth weather.
Got take away last night!!! Fantastic. Best curry I've had in ages!!
Never disappoints. Really can't think of a better Indian in Perth.
Probably the best ever. I eat here frequently and it has the most amazing aloo bahji ive ever had. that, and it caters for vegans without being bland and tasteless. rocks my socks. if i could eat here every day i would. the exact same thing. potato aloo bahji. also their garlic naan is pretty badass. and other people ive taken here that didnt just get the potato aloo bahji (i dont know what was wrong with them) but they seem to think the other foods on the menu are quite outstanding as well. top effort jolly good indians.
Fantastic. Latest review seems to be from about 12 months ago. Surprised there are not more recent comments. We dine here at least once a week & always, always thoroughly enjoy the experience. Dean & his staff are always very attentive, the food is presented superbly, and is absolutely delicious, especially the prawns. Have no qualms about recommending Jolly Good Indian to all & sundry.
Take away. Lovely tender lamb Korma - although more tomato based then creamy but still tasty. Rice lovely and fluffy - garlic naan very tasty, a little doughy though.
We went for a set menu, but were given a choice of 4 mains which was ideal. Everything was really good, the portions were generous, the food was fresh and tasty. The curries we ordered weren't over spiced and stodgy, they seemed light and subtle. The service was relaxed but attentive. Thank you Jolly Good Indian, I will tell my friends
SO GOOD!. Beautiful Indian food! The best onion bhaji I have ever tried. Ample portions for fair prices. Would totally recommend to everyone.
Fantastic!. Went here with a friend at the last minute on a Sunday night after browsing through urbanspoon and finding a photo of what looked like a truely tantilising butter chicken dish. Called at 7:30pm and got a booking for 8:30pm.
Arrived at the restaurant and immediately loved it. The dining area was dimly lit with candles everywhere and had a very homey feel to it- which is something I love. We decided to order two mains- butter chicken and the fish curry- along with aromatic rice and garlic naan bread.
First of all, I must say that the portions were huge and my friend and I (who can both eat!) struggled to finish the lot. Secondly, the food itself was absolutely beautiful. The butter chicken was exactly like the many butter chickens I had on my trip to India last year, very creamy and delicious. The fish curry was by far the best I've had in Perth. I often find when ordering fish curry that the spices and herbs overpower the taste of the fish itself and it ends up tasting like any generic curry. However the fish in this curry was very flavoursome, just the way it should have been.
The two waitresses that served us were also extremely warm and welcoming as well which only made for a perfect experience. We finished our meal and were the last diners remaining and they did not bring us our bill or try to rush us out at all, which we appreciated. Anyway- we were too full to hang around for too long!
An amazing little restaurant that I am so glad to have found, and look very forward to showing off to all of my family and friends. Thanks guys!
Hmmm..Love it !!. I have been looking forward to coming here for so long and finally the opportunity came our way last night. Now I know why ive been drawn to this place for so long, ... it was such a good experience. Warm & inviting.. we had a group of 8 and were lead into our own cosy private room...relaxed & comfortable with intimate lighting...
The smell of the curries had been antagonizing me for ages (we moved into the street this year) I was so keen to try everything! We started with a selection of the Bajhi's, samosas & breads... which were steaming hot & delicious..then we moved to the main... all the favorites.. Beef Vindaloo, Chicken Madras..(seriously delicious) Prawn karahi which was spectacular presentation but also mouth watering.. probably the best Butter chicken ive ever tasted..and the creamy fish kerala curry...great combo with the salad..The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was fantastic, the food was 10/10... dont wait as long as I did to go... really :)
Great Local For Any Occasion. Iv eaten here twice now, on a busy Friday night with a group of friends and on a quite Wednesday evening for a table for two when it was virtually empty. Both times the food has been delicious and the service friendly and not over the top. The vegetable samoses had a generous filling, crispy and delicous. For 2 mains, dahl rice, naan and entree the bill was under $65 which is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food - we couldn't finish it! The only thing I don't really go for is that they sell homewares and jewellery in the reception area where diners wait for their takeaway. Besides that this will continue to be my favourite local Indian restaurant.
We live nice and close to jolly good but even if we didn't we would still travel far to get it! Always amazing the best butter chicken around! And the service is always great
Great food but generally quite slow service 45m waits for food. But if you're not in a rush it's worth it.
Fantastic Sunday breakfast! We took the kids for mothers day. mrs Rob had the marsala dosa which she loved, I had the paneer dosa and the kids had the nutella banana dosa. With the chai and mango lassi it was the best breakkie I've had this side of Kerala. Part of me wants to keep this a secret as the laid back atmosphere was so refreshing, but I know this place will soon be packed every Sunday morning.
We'll definitely be back.

Mother's Day breakfast. Just back from a surprise trip to the Jolly Good Indian for breakfast! It was absolutely delicious!! Masala dosa was one of the best I've had...I thought I'd died and gone to Kerala! The paneer dosa was apparently yummy too...great mango lassis and lovely nutella and banana dosas for the kids. It is so friendly there and really relaxed. Very nicely priced too....I'm surprised there wasn't a queue out of the door....we'll certainly be back another Sunday morning.
Loved it. Each time i go here the food is amazing , always fast and efficient service , i would recommend the Lamb Korma and Butter Chicken they are both very saucy but delicious
Breakfast. We are just back from breakfast here on Sunday morning. My husband's Nasi Lemak was fabulous, my potato filled pancake with dahl was yummy and the kids were very pleased to be served a nutella and banana pancake. The coffees and mango lassis were good too! I think we'll be back soon.
Delicious. We ate here last friday and really enjoyed it :) great location, quirky restaurant, and yummy food. I liked that it wasnt too hot (meant I could eat more!), and my leftovers tasted just as good for lunch the nex day! will def come back here :)
Top food. I've eaten many Indian meals in Perth and overseas, but this was one of the best.
Naans were ok, bit doughy but the standouts were the Chicken Tikka Marsala and the Lamb 'Bhuna' Marsala. Lovely spice flavours and quality of the meat - many large perfectly cooked pieces of chicken or lamb, not fatty or tough. Quite a bit different to the normal small few pieces in a lot of gravy with a lot of oil floating on top.
Great friendly and efficient staff, nice flowing house restaurant.
Good. I have been a regular diner at Jolly Good since I discovered it about 2 years ago, and I have never been disappointed.
The food is very reasonably priced, the service is quick and friendly, and the owner is attentive and helpful in suggesting new things to try. On one occasion I ordered something not on the menu and he went out of his way to make the meal for me. Now that is service.
The old house that the Restaurant is in is cosy and a friendly envirionment
will be returning
Really delish! Great flavors... would definately eat here again. I was a bit put off with the paper over the table cloths but after the 8 of us had finished sharing and tasting each others food... the mess we left was crazy.... hense the paper!!!! Service staff were great, food came out timely. A great night out.
Had some take away - really impressed with the food will be ordering again
Kashmiri fish heaven. I love this place. I love the building, I love the beautiful lady owner and her open welcoming disposition and I love the food! The fish curry is Devine. So much so I can't seem to order anything else. My husband often tries something different every time and has loved every dish. The service is attentive and the bill always reasonable. I'm a regular at this place.
Outstanding... Service was very attentive. Cute restaurant. Got to sit in first class and treated like VIP all night ordered butter chicken and a lamb dish with the aromatic rice. Spectacular food. Probably the best curry I have had in Perth. Definitely going back
Excellent!. This place really is a treasure! So cute. It is set in a beautiful atmosphere, very cosy, with separate rooms in an old house in inglewood. We celebrated my sister's birthday there recently..The staff were exceptionally friendly, greeting us at the door & ushering us to our table. The curries were amazing with exceptional flavour..such a great experience...we will be back for sure!
Great food. Been a few times and the other night had 4 curries and we couldn't pick the best. Excellent service. Food here always has a freshness about it and the curries are as good as anywhere in Perth.
Bloody fantastic!. Great service and the best indian I've ever had in Perth! Got take away for a birthday dinner in and it was great.
We got the beef vindaloo, chicken tikka and garlic prawns as well as the Alhoo Bahzi and Shabi as well as rice and nan. The meat was plentiful and very lean. I normally eat vegetarian out but this was basically large pieces of breast chicken and lean beef. I'm a wuss about spicy heat e.g. wasabi peas are too hot to eat but the mild level of heat was wonderful warm but pleasant to eat. The mild vindaloo was slightly warmer.
The sauces were wonderful and the vegetables fresh and perfectly cooked.
I'll definitely be going back! Try it!
As for the decor of the restaurant it looked comfortable, simple and with a nice and plebian but upmarket compared to sizzler.
My favourite take away. I get take away from jolly good regularly! Decent serves with plenty of meat and is always good quality. Perhaps a little slow, it usually takes around 30-40 minutes for our order to be ready. Would probably be ok if we were dining in, but that feels like ages when you're at home watching the clock to know when to leave!
More than a name. Despite a less than promising name, the Jolly Good Indian restaurant is ... well ... jolly good. Spread over a series of quirky spaces in an old house in Mt Lawley, it has a casual but welcoming vibe. The service is friendly, the prices are good, and most importantly of all, the food is excellent. It's worth venturing to the northern end of Beaufort St to try this one out.
If you like lamb, but hate the smell, you should try "lamb koma",keep the juicy in the meet.
But I like the "goat curry",really really yam!!
Tasty food and good service. You can book a semi-private room which is good for big groups. I think the pricing is quite cheap and good value for the amount you get. The Indian salad is very good and so is the yellow Dahl, as well as palak paneer. There's also a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, and a gluten free menu on request!
Wonderfully friendly staff and possibly the best hot beef vindaloo I've ever tasted. Though the onion bhaji were not cooked though, we enjoyed everything else.
A positive but slightly mixed bag.
