Finally the Service has improved and thank you to the Aussie guy who was making everyone feel welcome. We have been coming here for the past 6 years. Saw all its changes and up grades including the bar. Food has always been lovely and fresh. But we stopped coming as the service was always rude and no chance of getting a booth as they were always reserved even tho no one was using them. We still liked the food so we just got Uber eats rather than argue for a booth.
We thought we would give it 1 last chance today and Iβm glad we did. At last today, we were allowed to sit in the booth next to the sushi train and it was no problem. Pretty quiet for a Sunday lunch but still the Red curry was always a hit.
This place offers great variety of food and drinks. The service is good too. We ordered Japanese and was very much satisfied. Would definitely recommended everyone to visit this place.
I always get take away sushi here and I fine the sushi is made fresh when I order which is great! I love the desserts and the service is amazing. Yesterday I came in with my newborn to pick up some sushi, the staff member helped me with my wallet as my hands were full, she then came with me across the road and put the food in my car for me. I was so appreciative. I am definitely making this my regular sushi place now even though itβs a bit of a drive- well worth it!!!
Always good service and an ample choice of delicious dishes. Will continue to head here when I have that urge for sushi or a wonton noodle soup!
Went on an evening and was pretty full. Food was very good and fresh because it was busy. Some plates a bit pricey for what they were but other than that better than the Victoria park venue
Visited the Tao Cafe for lunch today and was most impressed with the excellent food quality and extremely attentive service. Will be returning soon.
Sushi was fresh. Big portions for the noodles which were pretty tasty. The kids enjoyed the fun of the sushi train. Good for a cheap(ish) family meal out that is a bit different.
Tao cafe is a great cafe
Delicious tasty meals
Great service with a smile
Beautiful decor
Worth the stop if your in the area
Highly recommended
Been here with my colleagues (most asians). Variety menu, too many options to choose with very big portions. Nice sushi bar. Good service, Comfortable car park. Reasonable price. All of us were happy in the end. Will back again.
Discovered this place through a neighbour, now it's a regular place for dinner. Reasonably priced, large servings, and a variety of Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese. Gf gets Thai green curry, and ischiban role is the best of the deluxe rolls. I didn't like how they don't allow couples to take booths even when they're quiet. Don't bothet with the macaroons at the counter, these have been old both times we got them.
I must say, service could be a lot better, you have to work to get their attention. Overall though good value, will be back!
Decided to give Tao cafe a try after hearing about $1 oysters. Omg!!!!! Ordered half a dozen of the kilpatrick ($1.5) and half a dozen Bloody Mary ($2) while my friend ordered a dozen natural ($1). I've never been so overwhelmed by such a large selection of sushi and desserts all at once. I wasn't sure if I wanted to have dessert before my main! We spent forever staring at the sushi train watching all the different choices roll on by. We ordered the siam noodles, and pho tai for mains. The staff were happy to give us some small bowls and plates so that we could get a taste of each other's food. We were very happy with our meal and selection of sushi we picked off the train.
Always super busy at Tao around dinner time, but waitstaffs still are able to cater for my wants. Whether I want a second drink, another one of their heavenly desserts, or just to inquire about some exquisite looking sushi. Some waitstaff even stop to help me decide on a main by recommending the popular, or their personal favourite, dishes! I am never disappointed.
Attentive and friendly staff. Been here several times and am always greeted with a smile. The food is great and I've noticed that they have new things on the menu which is great. Can't wait to try them out! Prices are reasonable and staff are always happy to alter food to my liking.
Tao Cafe Innaloo is a great place to dine out with the kids if you are looking to enjoy affordable Japanese, Vietnamese & Thai food in a casual dining atmosphere. The kids loved the sushi train, and they have a great kids menu. Services is amazing Vietnamese Pho is incredible. We've had both the Pho Thai & Pho Ga and they are both amazing and so big you'll be lucky if you can finish it.
Tried out Tao on a casual Wednesday because I was feeling like a good Thai laksa. Service was friendly and brought our food quickly. I had the chicken Tao Laksa which was full of chilli, lime, mint and coriander. It was full flavoured and a huge serving. My friend had the Lemongrass Chicken. The serving was also large and contained beautifully marinaded chicken and crisp stir fried veggies. For dessert we shared a Summer Surprise which was a coconut and mango jelly which was nice. Overall it is a great place for authentic Thai.
Went in for Lunch for the first time, seemed like a very quiet restaurant at first ,then very quickly filled up packed with customers. My husband and I were very overwhelmed by the choices on the menu. Restaurant was very busy and approached by a very friendly waitress who recommended us some dish dishes .. The Ichbain Roll and the NY Roll, called it her very snap chat or Instergram worthy dish (very funny girl).. Will be going back again with friends.
Absolute FANTASTIC place to eat! Fast service, wonderful and friendly staff, as a regular here, I highly recommend it! Anyone who has anything degrading to say about this place or is staff should be embarrassed because I strongly believe that the work ethic at this restaurant is outstanding and extremely hard working. I find all the waitresses to be flawless and always smiling which makes it a pleasant place to eat. I go and eat at the restaurant during the day and occasionally during the evening after work. Some users should be mindful that name calling the employees and recommending people don't eat at the restaurant because of one unpleasant occurrence they had could be considered defamation against the employee and the business. Keep up the great work Tao! You will always have my thumbs up.
Reasonable prices and substantial portion sizes. The food is filling (in a good way). There's a large variety of savoury food to choose from, especially with chicken and seafood. The desserts on the train are all super tempting, and we made the right choice with the giant macaron filled with chocolate cookie dough and topped with a mini Oreo.
Food is delicious. Service isnt great though. They couldn't understand what we were ordering half the time. Some orders were incorrect. A dollop of extra mayo is $1 which is quite steep.
Yummo! For a casual dinner, very yummy. Yes, I agree with other reviewers, it is quick in and out but it is casual family dining, so I do not mind. I have been here with different people from my partner, my family, partners family, friends and every time I go, a smile, efficient service and I love being able to eat a entrΓ©e from the sushi train and then a hot meal from the menu.Thankyou Tao, time and time again you impress my date and I. Bun Xao (any meat) is my favourite and go to! See you soon x
I remember the last time I came here they had started serving desserts on their sushi train, cool concept! This time there were more desserts than sushi! Lots of food options in the menu; Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese. Zero customer service, wasn't expecting any though.
I have nothing more to add. Le Grand Chef has said everything that everyone could possibly say. Only one thing to add... The staff are now quick to pick up the lids... Other than that... See what Le Grand Chef said below.

Such a great place - perfect for a quick lunch to dinner from the sushi train or a leisurely dinner with a drink or two with mates. Great food - my favourites are the Thai beef salad, bun xao with chicken, beef pho.
We have eaten at Tao and have also gotten take away on many occasions. The sushi train has a decent selection and the take away sushi is always fresh. They serve Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese foods, so the menu has quite a few options. The Thai green curry is delicious (and perfectly spicy) paired with a pineapple fried rice. This is my go to spot for fresh, reasonably priced sushi.
This place is really hard to rate because it's so hit and miss. It's good for a quick cheap meal. I usually get the Pho or Thai green curry. Don't expect any service. We like it cause you can just walk in get a table eat and leave. We gave it four points cause we go here so often and it's convenient.
This is a fantastic local cafe serving sushi and Asian foods throughout the day. If the sushi train isn't very busy, you can ask them to make sushi of your choice!
My go to place. It's always busy and for good reason. Fresh, healthish food at an ok price. I recommend it for anyone looking for a decent feed.
Good food, good prices, good service. This place is an old favourite of ours before we see a movie at Event cinemas usually. They offer westernized Asian food - but it tastes good, and the prices are reasonable, and you dont have to wait wait wait for service. Its usually pretty busy. I recommend it - favourites are - Sashimi, tenpura vegetables, sushi, Teriyaki Fish Bento :)
Best asian food in the city of stirling! Love love love this place! Affordable & good quality food! Wide variety on the sushi train too!
We had the Japanese ala - carte menu, the beef teriyaki and chicken katsu. Big portion and good food. Not enough waitresses to take our orders even though it was quite busy on a Saturday. Value for money.
