Review The Australian Cafe - Inverell

Simple easy food. Big place great service.

This is THE PLACE for great Aussie food. The Inverell Australia Cafe is exceptionally popular amongst the locals of the town....it has become a tradition where local families and friends meet for breakfast or lunch. If you want to find great food it is said that you follow the locals. So...if tourists want great food and also meet the locals.. it is the place to go. The cafe is famous for it's New England Farmhouse Style food with the aroma of Roast Meats... Pork, Beef Ribs and Chicken filling the air. Or maybe you would prefer a king sized piece of barramundi. Lamb Shank with gravy, Potato bake and vegetables is often my favorite on a cold and wet winters day. Roast Pork is offered every day on the Lunch Menu. The cafe has a relaxing and nostalgic feel....The floor plan consists of separate areas and the walls have collections of interesting artifacts from throughout Australia...procured by the owners Glen and Toni Milner.

Great atmosphere. Friendly and efficient staff. Good food and value for money.👍

Rude Rude Rude. We called into this cafe at 12.20 today for lunch and while waiting to be seated noted that there were plenty of vacant tables. My wife, with menu in hand, and myself were greeted by the manager/owner to be told “get out of here” as they were too busy to serve us and the family in line behind us. At this point the menu was snatched from my wife’s hand and we were pointed towards the door to exit. We found our way to the General Merchant which is another eatery and greeted with a pleasant smile and advised that while busy there was a 30 minute wait which we accepted and had a great meal. This manager/owner is the Basil Fawlty of the hospitality industry and is obviously not suited to dealing with the public. Time for a career change.

We love coming to The Australian Cafe. Friendly service, great food nice sized portions....hot and fresh.

A good basic feed and good coffee. Covid conditions were affecting the operation somewhat so service was a bit rough around the edges and stressed. I'd go again though

THIS is the place to eat. Over about 8 years the same friendly service and food draws you back time and time again. If your visiting town and just want a drink, take your time and listen to the country warmth. Most staff know the names of at least 95 % of customers and the boss " Glen" is always passing remarks to keep the customers happy. Note of importance. TONI and GLEN are fully qualified 5 star chiefs so that's why you get the best cafe meals in town. They don't want the pressures of top restaurants so WA are the looser and Inverell the winner 10 out of 10

Friday was the first time at the Cafe . I'd only change one thing. I'll make sure I take an appetite, the food was great the waiters were plesent and a little funny . We had a great lunch . Definitely going to go again.
