Review Cafe 63 - Ipswich

Diana Waines
We have been to Cafe 63 here many times when it was originally located further up the road. First time at this new location though. Very extensive menu so be prepared for a lengthy peruse. Coffee came out after the food which we personally would not prefer. Food is basic fresh & tasty. Service was a bit slow to start

Coffee is good, but boy of boy...what is this avocado on toast??? First they brought 2 big pieces of toast with a side half avocado...(hard avocado)...then I said I asked for avocado on toast...so they brought what is in the photo ..some mashed avo in a paper cup. It was room temperature, tasted off, so I told the waiter...he just took the plate back to the kitchen and didn't say anything....not coming back.

I enjoyed my toasted sandwich, good flavour. Absolutely adored sitting out under the big leafy tree and your staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Food is good, coffee is good and prices are very reasonable the only downside is they have a massive menu and very few vegan food options and no vegan dessert which was disappointing.

We went for breakfast before heading for a few official meetings as I was travelling for work. The cafe was a bit busy but it took hardly anytime before someone attended us. Coffee came withing five minutes and then our breakfast came in less than 10. Being that busy we thought that's pretty quick. And food was delicious too. Overall, it was a really nice experience.

We dine here quite a bit as the food is ok. The sweet potato chips are actually really good. However the steak on the other hand is poor. They offer a range of steak options and cooking option as well. However no matter of you ask for the steak rare or well done it always come medium well done to well done. I don’t mind really how my steak comes but do not offer options if really it come one way.

Great place for groups with lots of seating, handy location. Large menu for all the family.

Cafe 63 has offerings at more of a budget price. Quality is not compromised, and this particular Cafe 63 knows how to present their meals in a more attractive manner than others. With the large trees sheltering the entrance it also provides a wonderful ambience.

I didn't know this store existed, as I often went to the Ascot dine-in as that used to be 24 hours. When they changed they recommended I come to Portside (Hamilton) and I was first impressed by the modern (new) setting as other Cafe 63 branches had a more homely feel to it. The food is as consistently as other ones and I even got a drink served in a tall ceramic mug, which is unusual considering Cafe 63 is generally reliant on disposable plastic packaging (unfortunately, even when dining in). Most dishes are re-representations of the same ingredients but are always tasty yet uncomplicated. Great for macros and healthy eating! Always excited to go to Cafe 63.

The service here is quick and they have the usual Cafe 63 chain menu, these cafes are usually reliable and good for a fast meal that will satisfy your hunger. However, I did feel this was a really lacking experience. I ordered a french toast meal and a matcha latte and I did try to finish it but I didn't have more than a few bites of the food as it just tasted off the usual flavours and the matcha latte didn't have a good flavour either. The food wasn't of a passable quality for flavour and we left most of it untouched as my partner could eat only one bite of his meal and didn't want to taste anymore. The staff were understanding with our lack of enjoyment and professional.

Odered a lunch special chicken curry costed me $18, however taste and quantity are worse than those $5 meal in food court.

Love this 24/7 Cafe at Hamilton! I visit for a late coffee last night. Service is always fast as there are few patrons. My Cafe Latte is hot and flavoursome, a very good coffee. Thanks Guys!

We often enjoy Cafe 63 at Portside but decided to try Cafe 63 at Racecourse Road last week for a change.

I chose the pork belly meal called Granny Smith because I had so enjoyed it at Portside. That turned out to be a huge mistake. The pork belly was virtually all undercooked fat - definitely nothing crisp on any of the pieces on my plate and the meat was almost non-existent - just a tiny strip along the edge of the very fatty pieces of pork. Then I bit into the vegetables and they were basically raw - imagine holding veges under the hot water tap for one second - in fact they were so inedible that I had to send them back and I rarely ever do that. The veges that were returned to me were cooked but surely someone should be monitoring the quality of the meals coming out of the kitchen. Perhaps the cook was having a very bad day but I won't go there again - ever!

As a fan of Café 63, I feel shame not been back to this one located at the Racecourse Road since 2015.
Had a gathering with friend for an early brekkie @ 6:30am this morning. I still love to order the “Super Brat” based on two reasons. It seems very health to have only egg white for omelette and I can order half serving and add extra-fresh avocado on the dish. Beverage & food came to the table very quick. I always have no problem with the flat white that they serve. Needless to say, the egg white omelette is up to my expectation. One thing I noticed this time that this Café 63 stops serving free bottle of water which is good for the environmental protection thumb-up!

Oct 29, 2015 Rating 4/5
This is the first cafe that widens my scope of horizon on the breakfast culture in Australia. I can guarantee that you would attract by the vibe of crowed peoples happily enjoying their breakfast there. It was the morning prior to my first cruise to Pacific Islands that I dropped in to have breakfast there. I was so exciting to see a menu with so many dishes to choose from; particularly the Egg White Omelettes that reflect how the management looks after the needs of elderly like me, ha ha.

Came here for breakfast this morning. Great service. Great food and coffee. Staff very helpful and attentive providing fast service. So came back for lunch and still the same friendly staff and same good quality food

Staff are always friendly and service is always quick, my go to breakfast in the home territory

I thoroughly recommend the Paddy-O OMG that will do me 👍👍👍

3 stars for breakfast. 1 star for dinner. Would go back for breakfast if looking for a cheap meal but never again for dinner. Food is very bland

Wife suggested we eat here after she has been to their other venue at new farm. Once on arrival it was a little wait for a table it was a decent crowd. They had plenty of tables and so our wait was about 20 mins.

Before we sat down we were told there will be a wait for food I said that be fine.

Their menu is extensive, so many choices.

I settled on the dancer, pork ribs, bacon, sausage, egg and toast. Flat white to start. Coffees came out first, which was no surprise about 7 mins, coffee was ok. Nothing standout, was warm and not enough coffee.

Then the wait, and more waiting for our food, it was over 40mins before we received our food. What came out was ok, meal was warm on the verge of cold. But were we so hungry, just ate what was delivered. Toast wasnt toast more just warm bread, other elements were average.

So after a long wait and average food, the kitchen was over whelmmed with the amount of orders.

Wasn't expecting much as it is a chain cafe but quite impressed. Gluten and dairy free barramundi was perfect and the times I have been here and West End the serves are huge. Great find. Not big on giving ppl plastic bottled water but some ppl would like the bonus.
Tim Trotman
Much like the Coffee Club in the same strip, this eatery feels like a paradox - it's food that would only seem classy to a Macca's regular that somehow feels safe to the predominantly upper crust Ascot crowd.
Cheri
Ordered rump steak with chips, Vegas and mushroom sauce. Steak cooked perfect. Could not fault it. Also got the fruit salad. Great variety of fruit and freshly prepared (no soggyness).

Consistently good. Selection and prices are great. I love that it’s open 24 hours, I don’t know of any other cafe that is. Service is always good and quick. The salmon skin is always crispy, is seasoned well and comes with chips and prawns - wasn’t a fan of the prawns they too were a little over cooked and tough. Great pumpkin soup. Fish burger was great, vego burger just okay. Not a fan of the carbonara, bland. Desserts are good and very cheap (LOVE the cheesecake). A good option is you’re after a quick, no-frills type meal. Great juices and they’re also licensed.
Kim
To be quite honest I only ever eat here after midnight. Im so glad there is a 24hr store that serves delicious meals at anytime of day with such efficiency. I tend to order burgers and such and it's always great, the coffee is always good as well.
Michael Rover
Reliable, consistently good, good varied menu, good value and friendly fast service. Always a good choice. I had a double waffle and my friend had a full breakfast and no complaints. Coffee was ok.

Cafe 63 is about simple food , great service and a few little extas that make you keep comin back, mainly for breakfast. There isnt anything fancy about the food, looks or taste , its what the average person would make at home but its quick and well priced. You also get a free bottle of water everytime you go amd a biscuit with every coffee, which is pretty decent. The extra spreads in the table are also free. The cafe itself looks like it needs a makeover but you dont mind because of all the other things that makes this place great.
Angelique Shaw
The food I have had here is great and the service is excellent. The water and their retro botttle are complementory and I have so many lying around at home. My only faults with this place is when it's busy wait time can be up to 40 minutes and that I find the indoor dining area not my cup of tea in terms of style. However, this is a small detail as I love the outdoor seating area.

Found myself here at 4:30 in the morning and was pleasantly surprised by the lovely service. The menu is very broad and there is very good prices. I liked the winter menu options and there is a few things I wanted to try out. The coffee was pretty good and so was the food.
Definitely a good alternative to pancake manor!
I really enjoyed the potato rosti and how they have all condiments on the table. A very well thought out restaurant. Great choice for an early morning meal with lots of parking available in the morning.
Only complaint was the 1/2 Avo advertised on the menu (extras) came out as 1/4 of an avo that was well browned and hard. A bit disappointed with that seeing as I watched their fruit and veg order roll in before I ordered breakfast.
Overall. 5 star for value for money.
Morika Hume
Lunch - ashes - Salmon. Overcooked salmon and unseasoned. Chips were flavorless and unseasoned. Onion rings were bland and sauce was very sweet.
Pat
Used to like this place but since Hamish and the crew have expanded the coffee has gone to crap. Too weak!! Coffee is what you base your cafe on and the rest will follow - that's how it started for these guys. I have even given them 3 return visits to ft it right - fail, fail, fail
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
We were passing by eating gelato from Milani, when Mini Meatball decided she was desperately thirsty. I ordered a bottle of water from their footpath counter, but when I offered them money they said it was complimentary. I knew they were complimentary with meals, but she advised that they are always complimentary.

We kept walking and eating our gelato, but couldn't resist stopping back into Cafe 63 to pick up a few bunches of Irises ($5) and a triple shot coffee for Lady Meatball. $3 yoghurt and fruit 'shooters' are a great deal!

Wonderful service, free papers, inexpensive flowers and good coffee. I'll be back.
Jennifer Clarkson
Free bottled water, air conditioning, huge menu and prompt service. I've been here 2x now and have had excellent food and service!!. Also are open 24/7, which is rare in Australia, especially Brisbane. Will definitely be back
Greg Johnson
Excellent 24 hour restaurant with a HUGE and tasty breakfast menu. Highly recommend if you are hungry.

I will definitely return, especially for breakfast.
Hot Child In The City
VALUE FOR MONEY - Good food, adequate coffee, and honestly you will be shocked when you get the bill at the end of your meal - it is very inexpensive.

Been here a a few times now and both food and coffee isn't too bad! Staff here are friendly too, except for the one that looks after the til...she unfortunately ruins the experience
Ashton Mann
Great food and efficient staff. Open 24 hours! Have come here for father's day and it was a great :) Recommend to anyone who wants to see a big Cafe in Hamilton :)
Danni
Excellent as always!!! Toast was a little cold but can't really complain!! Kick off juice was yum. Elle McPherson for me and comptons peak for my partner!! Will be back!!

The intrigue of a 24hr cafe lured me in after work at 4am for food & coffee. Menu is very extensive and I was advised by the friendly waitress that all dishes were available at the time. How could their kitchen keep the quality & freshness of food at a high level 24/7? Short answer. They can't.

The chicken in the curry was so dry it had splinters in it, had clearly been frozen, either for a long time or wrapped inadequately. They kindly replaced the dish with a bacon & eggs which was better but still had a sense of staleness to it as well as slightly lacking in flavour.

I'm guessing the 'B' chef works the graveyard shift and the 'A' chef does daytime. Makes perfect business sense. Coffee & service awesome, food off the pace.

Massive meals, and very good value. Lots and lots of hollandaise on the meals that have them. Lots and lots of everything! Great coffee. The food is tasty, and the portions are huge. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal, as did I. Not super amazing, but very enjoyable and flavoursome. I would go back.
Jonathan H
Epic portions, solid kitchen, great taste. The whole premise of Racecourse 63 is value for money and a good mix of hearty food and healthy food. I highly recommend the fish and chips my only regret, it doesn't come with mushy peas. The iced coffees are also amazing. Head on in!

If you're looking for a place for a good plate of bacon n eggs and etc, or even a decent breakfast for around $10.. This is the one! Great laid back atmosphere, no crazy overpriced breakfasts.
Dave Kelertas
Fantastic taste, variety and interesting menu items not seen before. Half serves options are good. Efficient, friendly, a little inattentive at times but not pushy either. Free wifi, nice coffee, I'll come back often to try all the menu!

Yummmmmm! Lovely breakfast. Great little place for all walks of life. Recently had a work function there and it was fast on service. Thumbs up!!!

My partner and I come here a few times a month. One of our favourite places. Food is very well priced and comes out extremely quickly. The staff are so kind and helpful.

Eaten here a few times and whilst not the greatest meals certainly not the worst. Staff are always freindly and never waited to long for the food.

Breakfast is ok and dinner menu is extensive. To date if have enjoyed the melas we have eaten here.

The decor is diffrent but I like it and my wife enjoyed that I bought here flowers afer taking her to breakfast.
Poached Egg
The breakfast here is simple but plentiful and delicious. This is a great place to go for brunch - staff are super friendly and there's lots of options on their menu to please everyone. Atmosphere is fun and relaxing and prices are pretty good.
Michael Riddell
Staff here at 63 are great, a bunch of us from work will go there almost everyday for a coffee and breakfast wrap. Free bottle of water with any purchase.
Netkith
My porridge was good. My husband's omelette was average. The little supplies on the table are cute. Service was good.
The downside is that there are hardly any vegetarian options. No vegan at all. The owner parks a hatchback with synthetic grass all over it that says go green. For someone promoting environment you wouldn't expect a lack of vegetarian options or bottle water for each table!
HeadPickle
WHY do you serve your customers water in PET bottles? Don't you know single use PET bottles are about the worst pollution causing items in our oceans? People are sitting in a restaurant, not hiking up a mountain - give them filtered tap water and save the waste! I cannot go back to your cafe while you continue to do this. It's environmentally irresponsible and there are way better ways to make your cafe quirky other than this! PS your food wasn't that great either....
Jacqueline Marshall
The food was delicious, atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We went for lunch but will try out the breakfast soon, since the other reviews are so positive. Plenty to choose from and the prices are good. This has been my favourite from all the Racecourse Road eateries and cafes for a meal... we will return.
Cora Chen
I'm glad I stumbled across Racecourse 63. It's a great cafe with fun and friendly vibe, plenty of menu choices so that regulars won't get bored and best of all, delicious food. The staff we encountered were very pleasant and despite how busy the cafe was, we got our food and smoothies quickly. You can even pick up a bunch of fresh flowers after your meal!
Gizzymobob
Have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and loved it everytime.

Prices are reasonable and quantities generous.

Definitely recommend.
Jason Geraghty
This is my go-to place for breakfast. Reading some of the other reviews here I'm surprised by some of the negative ones because i have never had a bad experience but I have never tried anything but their breakfast menu. Also I have never had any trouble with service, it's always pleasant and delivered with a smile! Great coffee and I highly recommend the omelettes!!
Rebecca
Poor Quality - Trucky Stop Breakfast. I was attracted to the busy cafe because it was packed.

The menu was extensive... About 50+ choices. They had exceptional variety, which actually worried me because I don't see how it's possible to offer such a large menu and do it well.

The food was not quality food at all. Everything seemed like it was from a packet, fried up and plated up with a garnish of a lemon slice and sprig of parsley. Even the avocado and hollandaise was not fresh - Im certain it was from a tube.

The best way to describe it is like eating breakfast at a truck dinner, but a little fancier with a couple of garnishes.

Very disappointed!
Linda Jung
Great prices and service for equally great food. This place was awesome! I couldn't believe how cheap everything was, especially for such a nice looking brunch place like this one. I was skeptical about the quality and quantity of the food because of the prices but the food was anything but disappointing! I ordered the Ottoman($10), a grilled chicken and haloumi Turkish toastie with yogurt sauce, while my partner ordered 'The Emirates' (from memory- $13?? mushrooms in gravy +sausages +2 poached eggs +2 pieces of toast). We both loved our dishes and were left incredibly full. The Turkish bread was toasted just right, the 2 generously sized pieces of haloumi were perfectly grilled whilst the yogurt dip served as a nice side accompaniment to the dish.

Keeps me coming back. If you want a simple brekky for a moderate price this is the place to go. I always get the Compton dish with poutine and it fills me up. Service is nice, although parking can be a little difficult

But Coffee is good though,,,.. I have ever eaten at this cafe but had coffee couple of times and I think coffee is always good.

Best in customer service, value and convenience.. Everything about this café is amazing. Firstly, I just have to say how amazing and attentive the staff are. They are right there before you even realise you need them and are always ensuring you are happy and satisfied. They go over and beyond and it's the first thing I noticed. The price to portion size is fantastic, coffee is made quickly and to an extremely high standard along with the early open times and late closing, make this café my favourite in Brisbane. 63 racecourse road is not just highly recommend it is my go to restaurant for any occasion as I know my friends and family will be looked after, enjoy their meal and will rave about it the entire experience after. FIVE STAR RATING
Paul.cockerill00
Breakfast - November 2014. Good food at a good price! Menu is endlessly flexible, so you can have pretty well exactly what you want. Service was generally good, apart from the girl operating the till - unfortunately, she needs lessons in basic courtesy.

Unique, relaxed and charming. Nice concept, food is good but average, large menu. Have a desert with the Berry yogurt, it's the best.
Very Good value, experience, relaxed and they allow byo. I love going there. We are not local to the area but don't mind driving across town to dine there. I will go back many more times, I sure.

Great local restaurant. This restaurant is a little gem on Racecourse rd. The food is fantastic, the staff are courteous and the best thing about this place is the size of the portions. Everytime we eat there I still leave thinking how good it was and what great value it is.

I would highly recommend it to others
Dave
Menu had excellent variety, service was friendly and food was ready extremely fast. Will definitely be returning!

Not good. It's ashame people waste a great location on something so ordinary.
The food is okay- nothing to brag about, however.
The wait time is okay.
The service, however, is terrible. There are large communication issues with the staff, they are unfriendly and degrading.
Whilst querying the amount of my bill (which was in fact incorrect) I felt very uncomfortable and awkward- the waitresses attitude towards me was shocking- very rude and aggressive. There are only a few really lovely staff on there.
They do not care about you, rather your money - they are more interested in the turnover than the happiness of their customers.
The drinks are good - coffee and smoothies and juices too, that is if your order is correct (due to the language/communication barrier).

I do not go to this restaurant any more, simply because I feel very uncomfortable, upset and untolerated by the staff which makes for an unpleasant experience.

They focus on quantity rather than quality which is very disappointing as, given the area and possible clientele, you'd probably go for a more gourmet breakfast as people are willing to pay that bit extra. I stood there for 20 minutes waiting for a table and then went and sat at a table by myself...... to then be ignored by the staff again. I just would much rather prefer a beautiful well thought out meal with wonderful flavours than a bunch of sides on a plate

A brilliant surprise. We ambled along Racecourse Rd the other Thursday night, looking for food. The road has more than enough uninspiring Italian places doing the usual stuff (possibly well, but it is still the usual stuff), and trendy excy places.

63's menu looked DIFFERENT and the place unpretentiously quirky. We dropped in and loved it all. My lamb salad was superb, tasty lamb without overdone spicing with beut fresh salad stuff, decent fetta and the nice touch of toasted nuts on the yogurt. My wife's sticky pork spare ribs were sublimely tasty, the potato fritter great. Our dessert of pancakes with berry sauce and berry icecream was a roaring success. The pancakes appeared pre-made but they were there just to pile the other stuff on. Both the sauce and the frozen yogurt icecream were sweetened just as much (little!) as I like it. Once again, roasted nuts provided lovey addition to the flavour.

Service was just fine, food was brought out very fast, the dishes an interesting international twist on the underlying apparently Canadian theme, with low prices to top off the list of pleasant surprises.

Terrible Service - wont be going back.... We dined here with 12 friends, and had been here with 6 the weekend before and the service was terrible. There were staff taking drinks from the table when they werent empty, long waits on food - banana bread took over an hour to come out and it was for a child so her meal was last to come out! no apologies or anything.. staff messed up orders and it was too much of a hassle to get them remade as we would be the only ones at the table eating otherwise. Wont be going back unfortunately, will take our money elsewhere....

One hiccup, the rest excellent. We were at this place for brunch with the same bunch of people last Sunday after 2 years gap. Wow! What an improvement. Definitely it has grown mainly in taste of their food & menu. There is something for everyone; from health conscious to not so healthy. Our meals was so good that nothing was left on the plate. On the other hand we were unlucky with our service. I see some diners about the negative views on service at this place; life is like a box of chocolate you don't know what you gonna get. And We got a "mole"! She was the one with glasses with shoulder length hair dyed to blond! Her attitude's she'd rather be next to Naomi Campbell. She's the only worker there who'd let her down (her hair was not in ponytail as the rest) unprofessionally, having an idea of that she's the most beautiful & glamorous woman working there. Her attitude was she's walking on a catwalk stand, she's created everything, Naomi Campbell is her best friend. Her attitude was so rude and arrogant toward us and even got worse after her stuff up. Altogether our second experience was memorable with delicious food & a mole. We will return but another waitress for us, please!
Caitie
Love it. I go here every weekend for a catch up breakfast with my group of friends and have been doing so for over a year. The staff are brilliant, service is quick and the owner/manager genuine and kind. I recommend to all my friends. P.S. We order sides or slight variations to our meals all the time and have never had them stuffed up.
Amanda
I really love this place I'll be back for sure!

We were visiting Brisbane from Toowoomba for the weekend and staying close by. We enjoyed an afternoon tea and two amazing breakfasts (the bircher museli with apricots, nuts and mayo frozen yoghurt was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted). The menu and staff were excellent. Even with so many restaurants and cafes in Racecourse Road to choose from we will definately be back next time we visit.
Teresa Tess
Excellent x 2. My partner and I were recommended by our Motel to go here. We were told the menu was innovative and imaginative BUT best of all the coffee was delicious. Qantas Special and Pancakes Canadian Style EXCELLENT just reading the menu you could tell the Chef and staff put a lot into their fare. Who ever would have thought to have frozen lemon yogurt with pancakes crispy bacon and maple syrup DELICIOUS. Mushrooms in a creamy sauce, potato rostie bacon, tomato and chunky wholemeal toast again EXCELLENT. Coffee was hot, and stayed that way till the last mouthful of food. Sadly we didn't return for lunch because we were still full and had dinner elsewhere booked, HOWEVER, will be back next time were in Brisbane. Thank you to the Tableservice Staff, Chef and Kitchen Staff a job well done. :)
Anthony
Had the eggs Benedict, I would have to say one of the worst I have ever had, clear a packet hollandaise is used, tasted horrible, defiantly don't see me self going back for it, on the plus side service staff friendly and coffee was good
Rebecca Buntain
Loved it! My son has severe allergies and they were extremely helpful in catering for his needs. Best of all - he ate a great meal without any incidents. Well done and thank you. We will definitely be back.

Lots of regulars, but.... This place seems to have a solid following however I would tend to think they're in it for the locale, rather than the quality of the product, or service.

Expensive platters, average coffee and service that is of a questionable standard and at times, downright difficult to communicate with.

Pizzas are ok, but small. Couple this with a dedicated pizza outlet merely doors away, you'd think they'd work a bit harder to impress.
Jam.009
Bad coffee. I'm just back from overseas and once was a regular of this shop due to the coffee. Found out they have changed coffee brands. As I prefered Giancarlo brand, which I have since found at another coffee shop on racecourse road. Ya..
Justanothermofo
We're regulars!. Have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here (not all on the same day!) and we've never been disappointed. The fare is not 5 star but it's fresh and comforting and tasty every time. Breakfast is our favourite with the extensive menu but the lunch and dinner options are quite good too and there are a few dishes that give you real bang for your buck. It's simple fare so don't expect things to be too gourmet, but it's a good, honest and tasty feed that won't cost the earth. The service is very good and the staff are very attentive. Will keep returning!
Madeleine W
Great service but ordinary food.. Anywhere that promises you turkish bread with your eggs benedict and gives you an english muffin instead is not good. The service however is nothing short of amazing and the place is aesthetically appealing.
Carmen
Great meal!. Went here for lunch as a last minute thing. Absolutely loved it we had waffles that were great and reasonably priced, the wraps also good. They did great kids meals as well, definitely returning and will try the breaky items next.
Sarah
Loving it.. I am having my breakfast there at least once a week. I love the creamy mushroom and the Cathy Freeman. Never been disappointed. I also get my TA coffee from there, always perfect.
Gav
Satisfied. We had brekkie here + really liked it - it was very busy but the staff are so hardworking + do it all with a smile - the food came out quickly + was yummy - def will be returning nxt wend
Bill
Bit disappointing. Had pork chops which were the type u buy at Coles and were very dry couldn't finish it which never happens. Staff in a hell of a rush with insincere smiles and a "next" type of attitude. Only go there if taken.
Laura Rowan
Racecourse 63 is good for breakfast, but not so much for lunch and dinner. I find this so because the menu is so extensive that the quality of each individual dish suffers. This doesn't so much worry me for breakfast, because I find breakfast foods can get away with being basic, but for lunch the lack of well-considered flavours is more apparent. Good, quick service and nice atmosphere.
Donald.gardiner
Very ordinary breakfast. This place was so busy on a sunday morning we thought it had to be good. The coffee certainly was good and service quite prompt and friendly but nothing could make up for the food - absolutely the worst breakfast food I've ever seen out. In this strip you'd expect some innovation and at prices of up to $20 for breakfasts you'd hope for something interesting. I had haloumi on toast with an egg, hollandaise and onion rings. This was on the specialties list so thought it could be interesting but no some very ordinary haloumi and an over cooked egg with hollandaise that looked like it had split. And that was just my breakfast - the other two orders on the table were equally ordinary. have a coffee but no more
Nicola Frances
USED to be so good!. Went to Racecourse 63 this morning after coming here many times in the past and I was so shocked because I had always been so happy previously. The service was bad and we had to request a high chair 2 times before it came. Then when we ordered, they must not have written down how I like my eggs and when they came out they were the opposite of what I'd ordered so after sending them back, half an hour they finally returned and the rest of my food was cold but the eggs were right this time at least. Then we requested a Coke Zero and they came out with a coke and then finally when going to pay, they had charged me for 2 of my breakfasts and seemed annoyed when I queried the bill and finally refunded me after making me feel uncomfortable for the fact I even asked. Won't be returning unfortunately.

Awesome. If you don't like 63 Racecourse Rd there must be something wrong! Fantastic service, amazing menu and of course Award Winning Di Bella Coffee! Thanks 63. I'll be back!!

A+ GREAT. I orederd pork, it was amazing
Also a caramel milkshake.. it was just milk and flavouring not the best. :/

My meal made up for it. very nice

When 63 first opened I loved it! It was simple tasty and cheap! Now they are trying to many things! Food is still simple but prices have increased! They are no longer my fav place. It does have a good vibe! They do so many things right but so many things wrong aswell!
Nik
Service was poor, menu is stupid and food is ordinary.
They should probably pick a theme and stick with it instead of doing a bit of everything half assed.
Posh
Yummy smoothies!. Had Mango Man (promotion for $5) and it's so sharp and tasty!

Diana. I really was expecting bad things after reading some of the reviews here, but was talked into trying it by a family friend who is a regular & all in all we were pleasantly suprised. We were there for brekky with the pooch who was made very welcome, as were we. There was a complimentary apple on every table along with bottled water (nice touch) Also a condiments box chock full of sauces & jams etc. First of all we thought the coffee was good, nice strength & a good pour. I will admit the menu is rather long & the food is pretty basic fare. Stuff like onion rings & tinned baked beans etc. However basic fare can sometimes be OK for brekky especially if its fresh. I managed to design myself a vegie brekky with haloumi, avocado & salad (even came with a touch of fresh chilli) The partner got himself a sausage brekky which came with the onion rings a large kranksky type sausage (which the dog loved) plus two other sausages. He said the tinned baked beans ruined the dish, he was hoping for house beans, but he said the bubble & sqeak was great (he loves to cook this himself incidently!!) All in all a pleasant experience & we will be back as the in laws just live around the corner, oh & another point its not overpriced!!

Mediocre....it used to be a bit different.
Coffee pretty good, service is good, flowers are sweet and well priced. Food is just bland I guess it depends on the meal. The menu is way too long (about 50 dishes) and the meals really don't differ much. Had Carbon Tax dish with side of grilled mushrooms. The slices of cheese weren't melted in the scrambled eggs, chorizo was uncooked before put into eggs therefore tasted really odd and the $3 side is mushrooms consisted of 3 Coles mushrooms. We felt a little off after brekky and unfortunately the produce has little taste even though meals are large.
Nice ppl though.

Love, love, love this place. I grab my coffee here every morning on my way to work and have NEVER had a bad coffee. I'm a fussy person when it comes to coffee and this place is spot on. The breakfast menu is amazing and the options are extensive. The service is great and the staff are lovely. Meals can be a bit slower coming out on weekends but the place is always packed so that's not surprising.

Just had a horrible experience trying to get breakfast at cafe 63, they didn't bother bringing our order for an hour and it only arrived after we asked where it was after seeing people coming after us and eating and leaving before us, and then when they did bring it they got it wrong. Also our 16 month old was very patient waiting for and not getting any food. Apparently 'sorry' is a meaningful response to such poor service and disrespect for people's time. What a way to spend Father's Day!!!

Fast, friendly and attentive service. Extensive menu offering the basics as well as the more complicated breakfast meals. Good coffee with good food. Definately worth a look for that lazy Sunday breakfast/brunch

Good place for breakfast. I live just around the corner and I will always go here to get takeaway coffee, as it is delicious. And for some reason their takeaway coffee is much better than their have in coffee. Food wise, it isn't cheap and it can be slow. But it's delicious and good sized portions.

Despite the reviews on here we chanced our arm at 63 for breakfast. Initially the service was prompt and we were served coffees within 5 minutes. We were overwhelmed by the enormous menu but ordered quickly and had high hopes.

We waited over 50 minutes for our meals to arrive, and when they did, all three were wrong on some way. Two of the meals were cold. Sides that were ordered were missing and ingredients described on the menu were also missing.

To their credit, we were given all the meals free, but I won't be returning. The food we did eat was sub-par and overpriced. Breakfast should be easy.

Avoid this place!

The service was poor but the food made up for it :). I wouldn't completely write it off.

A regular default breakfast place for us. Service is usually speedy and staff I have found to be helpful and friendly on most occasions. Really fuss free place with an extensive menu and huge helpings. Value for money no brainer.

Brekkie - YUM. As a first timer to 63... Went for brekkie with my chum! Huge choice of brekkie delights, waiting staff very attentive and no one rushing us to get out... It was busy... We got nestled at a big farm style table under the gas heater! Bonus! Food was really tasty! Coffee hit the spot! LOVED IT! Already looking forward to the next trip and choosing another brekkie treat!

A bit plain. Went there for lunch, food was a bit plain. I had singapore noodles, which didn't tase very exciting, no spice at all. It was mainly noodles, some vegetable and chicken in a soy sauce mix. Service was very plain and the staff didn't communicate very well when it came to ordering.

Horrible food. Went here for lunch, and ordered steak and chips. Steak was utterly inedible, just gristle and fat. There wasn't a single edible bite. Chips are shoestring style, which goes cold quickly. Also, they were burnt. Expensive too. The coffee was good, but on Racecourse Rd, that's not enough.

I have eaten here every weekend for the last year. Nothing overdone or fancied up, they just do excellent, hearty, tasty breakfasts and you know it will be satisfying every time. The Jackie Chan juice is an epic win! 10 out of 10 :)

Don't believe the reviews this is the beat breakfast in Brisbane!! I come here every weekend and have never been disappointed. Pancakes are the best but you can't go past the cheesy omelette. I give this place a 10 out of 10 for breakfast on a lazy Saturday

Plain Awful.. Wouldn't you think that a Cafe surrounded by quality competition on Racecourse Rd would do their best to produce quality food? Well, not here.

Uninspiring and tasteless breakfast. Scrambled eggs had no flavour or colour. Actually, there was nothing in it. Just egg. What about a bit of parsley as garnishing? Cracked Pepper? I ordered a cup of tea but got a tea bag sitting on a plate with some hot water... They have gone for the cheapest option for everything but are charging high prices..Just not good enough. VERY unprofessional manager/owner.
Its not hard to see why only 50% of patrons are satisfied with this place.

Great find. Found this place online to go somewhere with girlfriends for brunch. As their breakfast menu goes all day it was a great option! I am always aprehensive of having eggs benedict at any place but saw someone else getting it and decided to go for it...it was yummy! and cooked properly!!
there's lots of bread options and they'll make what you want...also love that it's the same price for any variation of the benedict so with spinach, hash browns, bacon etc just pick one and it was all the same!
Took my Dad back there the same week for his birthday! another successful meal!

The worst experience ever. Hi readers i live in the area and what can i say about this place it sucks but still it has a lot of customers. The food is horrible it has everthing from aussie, thai, italian and indian as well. But all crap food. All i can say is wake up people and have some respect for what you eat and what you can get on racecourse road. Please get over with 63 crap and it is not cheap either.
cheers

A love-hate relationship !!!. UP and DOWN coffee to be honest. One day it's deliciously creamy the next it's burnt. There's just one good barista, but when she's off and any of the others "wait staff barista" assuming the position, be aware: burnt and frothy coffee is coming.

Menus are extensive and full of delicious options. The meals come with quite large servings but unfortunately missing quality and presentation . Great service and lovely flowers for sale out the front which adds a nice touch.

One if the worst dining experiences ever. Lazy Saturday lunch with a "chicken" Caesar and a couple of Cajun "chicken" salads. Absolutely revolting. At $18 each the salad component of my Cajun chicken salad consisted of some coleslaw and a few miserable lettuce leaves. Not a piece of chicken breast to be found but rather grisly, fatty, pink and grey chicken meat. The Caesar salad was the same - grey grisly meat. If someone told me the ibis population in the area had taken a hit recently, I would not be at all surprised. This meal actually made me crave hospital food. the best part is, they want to slog you $18 for this plate of pap. Needless to say I didn't eat it and refused to pay for it.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It's about time restauranteurs realized that they can't get away with serving costly, substandard food anymore. We all work too hard for our money.
