Beaut relaxing cafe. Love the new winter menu! Great chill vibe. Food hits the spot, coffee is a great warmer. Regular visitor. Highly recommend, try the Beef and Beer! Not Sure what Gavin Bushnell is on about.... seems like the high maintenance type....

Unfortunately parts of our meals were cold. We did speak with the chef that offered to heat up our meals. Meals are more expensive than other places so it should be hot at least when you get you meal. Disappointed 😞 in response to the owners comment you offered to heat up our meals. Then when I said Don't worry about it I'd just deal with it, I just wanted you aware so no one got a cold big breakfast. You offered free coffee. We had both had coffee sitting on our table. I did say maybe coffee for next time we came. But nothing happened. The chef walked off. I did ask if parts of the breakfast was in a food warmer which would explain why it was cold. But the chef assured me it's all cooked fresh on the grill. So no excuse for cold food really. I didn't ask to see the chef I spoke to a young wait staff lad only to make sure others didn't get cold meals.

Choice of bench seating or chairs. Dogs welcome outside, with water provided in a bowl. Both meals were Eggs Benedict with ham, but we we're told that we couldn't add mushrooms. You can have, ham, bacon or mushroom. There was just no way they could add mushrooms. The service from staff was uninspiring. When asked for a menu, staff member replied with a crooked smile and walked off, leaving us to search for to find a menu ourselves. Good car parking, location and surrounds.

Went with my son and we ordered from the Mothers Day menu. The food was really nice and the staff were polite and friendly. As a local to the area can happily recommend 40 West to others.

You think after this business turnover of owners everyworker in this joint would want try their best to improve Forty Wests reputation. I thought, things may have changed and would try give this little Cafe 1 another chance but past experiences over 5 years have not been that great, both food and service. The Chef on this morning was an extremely rude lady. I came in to order a coffee and go toilet while I time. I do understand that the toilets are for Forty Wests clients only but the way she treated me and even the way she speaks to other staff is rude and she should definetely not be a good rep for this business. Her attitude makes everyone feel uncomfortable, even her colleagues. Ive helped hundreds of clients build their homes in this estate from the begining since 2014 it was owned by Amex, then Okeland. Ive referred so many clients to Forty West Cafe over the years to help sustain the ever failing business. I would have addressed this with her at the time I was in there but I didnt want to embarrass the Chef as other Patrons and Staff were present. Good Luck, Im also a qaulified Chef aswell. Its not hard to find someone that could do what she does and actually cares about clients and food. Btw if your kitchen is an open kitchen, makesure your chef is clean and keeps everything to Food Standards as Workplace Health And Safety is stricter than ever, they would have shut the kitchen down real quick this morning if they saw the state she had it in.

Lovely atmosphere in a new estate. Coffee was good but we were disappointed with the Churros pancakes. They were a huge serving however they were tasteless, thick and dry. We had to ask for maple syrup as none was supplied. The berries served with the dish were plentiful and fresh. I would not call them pancakes but rather a cake.

Delicious coffee and friendly service. Dinners are always on point. I especially love the Friday specials and live music :) I recommend them! Come to Forty West!

Can only make comments with regards to the coffee here. Was meeting up with friends & we had all previously eaten. So our order was a cappuccino & two flat whites hot & strong. The capuchino was the winner as my friend ordered the large size & it was strong & hot. Our other flat whites came out pretty weak & not hot enough, however they were quickly replaced when we mentioned it to the more than friendly staff. The second attempt was a winner & the Four Seasons blend lingered on the tongue for quite a while afterwards. So thanks for the recommendation from MB & will be returning to try out those house beans for breakfast. The staff even came back to double check how our other coffees were so top marks for service & for being pet friendly on that spacious deck

Great cafe located in an area that is sure to grow rapidly over the coming months/years.

Decor and service - decor is great. Love how the cafe opens up to a deck that looks over the playground. A very modern take on typical alfresco areas. The lighting, colour choices and use of brick, steel, barn style wood and copper pipes surprisingly provides a very warm feel. The staff are so friendly, greeted us with big smiles and I felt right at home immediately.

Food - for me, waffles with caramelised banana, fresh strawberries and blueberries drizzled with caramel, a scoop of rich chocolate ice cream and lightly dusted with icing sugar. Love how it was served on a black plate - really made the colour of all the ingredients pop. I was a little concerned about whether the combination of fruits, caramel and ice cream would be sickly sweet but it wasn't! The waffles were lovely - great texture, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Combined, I got a lovely fresh hit from the fruit, perfect sweetness from the caramel, richness from the ice cream and great texture from the waffles. I was very pleased with my brekky - my only hiccup was with only one of the waffle halves. It was a touch over cooked making hard to cut through. Other than this, it was excellent. My mocha with extra chocolate was perfect - not too strong and not too sweet. Lovely blend that lingered slightly on the palate without making me cringe.

Love the variety of choices in their cabinet too - cakes, tarts, biscuits, various types of sandwiches and other goodies. Being a Kiwi, I was so excited to see afghan biscuits!! So much so, I bought the rest of what they had haha.

Overall, an excellent experience and certainly somewhere I will visit again.

This hidden little bundle of joy is an absolute must visit, within a newly developed estate surrounded my a magnificent view of mountains and overlooking a park this place is perfect for families.

The staff that served us today made us feel so welcome. They knew there regulars and greeted everyone who walked past, they checked on us to see how our meals where and we only had good things to say.

The coffee, largest size for me and arrived so quick and what a great blend, tops to the barista. Brekky arrives not long after also not a let down, the bacon was perfectly cooked and just melted in my mouth, loved the homemade baked beans also. Great work chef. Whole dish was spectacular with a view and wide open eating area to compliment it. A must for anyone

Such a chilled out and welcoming vibe. Would be an excellent spot for families due to the big water park right to it. Great coffee and delicious food. The team are really lovely and attentive too and the service is quick. 😍
