Love this place, the busiest restaurant on the street with great atmosphere for outdoor dining. Friendly and attentive service , very accommodating from the staff. Food is delicious, great portions and fair price along with the quality. Especially pizza dough really tasty and perfectly cooked. Recommend to try Roasted Lamb and Calabrese pizza. Good variety wine selection matching with food as well as yummy cocktails.

Love the lamb pizza! The crust is so moorish and wonderful flavours. A great local place and my sons fav to go with his mates. Give it a go.

Delicious food! Woodfired pizzas were outstanding! Service was prompt and everything we ordered was lovely. Garlic pizza was amazing and the gnocchi with the tomato sauce was 10/10. Only thing that I didn't enjoy was that the air con was quite ineffective and it became very hot inside. I went on a 30 degree day, so I was hoping the air-conditioning would work well. Overall, would definitely come back!

Great food and service! Enjoyed sitting upstairs and the background music. Pizzas and Pastas were excellent and good value. The manager and staff were very accommodating, friendly and efficient. Everyone was very happy with what they ordered. Highly recommend.

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night with friends and the place was quite busy so we were glad we booked... We even had to wait even though we came on time... Unfortunately we had to wait by the front door which was inconvenient for the 6 of us as various people were also coming in and having to squeeze past us Whilst waiting I was conscious of a group of 4 that unfortunately were seated by the front door so whenever someone entered they were blasted by cold air and giving folks the stink eye if anyone kept the door open... An unfortunate location that I'd advise asking to avoid when booking during winter. Floorspace was quite limited downstairs. I'm not sure what it was like upstairs but we seated right up the back opposite the kitchen without much of a view...I guess in a small place with a group of 6 you don't have a lot of options. Perhaps an indication of our position behind a big pole but it took over 15 minutes before someone came to take our order. There was a decent variety of food but most of us opted for a pizza. Most pizzas either came in medium or large size... Medium averaging around $20 and large around $24. The pizzas were thin crust Italian style. They not only looked good but also tasted good. One of our friends ordered a risotto who enjoyed it but would have preferred a larger serve. Not sure what the other pizza restaurants are like in Ivanhoe but we enjoyed the food here.

I love the food - easily the best pizza in the area but I've found the timeliness of orders and customer service is inconsistent. When ordering takeaway last time the website allowed me to order pizza but they were out of gluten free so I swapped for pasta over the phone and then waited for 25 minutes after the pickup time indicated to get my food.

The food isn’t particularly good and the service was quite slow. Probably because it was a busy night. But there was nothing too special about the food and it really wasn’t the best. It lacked flavour.

I could not recommend this place more. Our server Luca went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent night and we truly did. This is possibly the best pizza I have ever eaten. It is the kind of pizza you dream about (I still am) Everything we ate was sublime 10/10 If you get the chance you NEED to go here. Update: I have now been here 5 times and it is consistently fantastic. I could not recommend it more.

Not great if you have dietary requirements! We had a family member who can't have salty food, so we ordered a simple salad with no salt or dressing but when we tried the salad it was pretty obvious there was salt all over it. I also ordered a gluten free pizza which came out soggy so I reordered another gluten free pizza which was also soggy. If you advertise that you meet dietary requirements then at least try and do a good job at it. Otherwise the other food was great �

I just did a pick up order from your restaurant, and made an order for 3 pizzas which 2 were not correct! I ordered no chicken on one pizza as I am vegetarian and no mushroom on another as my partner allergic! Get both home and both have them on the pizza!!!! The gentleman at the register even made a joke about the chicken pizza with no Chicken and still managed to get it wrong! Have tried to call the restaurant twice and went straight to voicemail! Clearly disappointed with the service, unfortunately not the first time!!!

Food was delicious, had eggplant parmigana which was made the traditional Italian way. The wood fire pizza's are amazing, desserts are to die for. They are not tight with servings and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

What a great place for a party. We tried many different combinations of pizza and they were all delicious with the beautiful woodfire flavours. Perfect pizza bases and interesting and tasty toppings. The staff is wonderful and so helpful, the service couldn't have been better. Finished off with a beautiful iced coffee. Highly recommended.

Food was delicious and wonderful service. Our pizza didn't arrive with our mains. They apilgized and then offered us a nutellla calzone on the house with deepest apologies. It was so nice of them and the dessert was yummy. Going back again �

Pizza was great and tasty, but service was pretty average and staff not very attentive (though it was very busy). If it's busy, best bet to get a takeaway from there.

We had a beautiful dinner here tonight and I can’t believe we haven’t been here before! Gorgeous local pizza place with great sized portions and a great atmosphere. There’s lots of Vegan options as well! Highly recommend the seafood pasta and carbonara. Can’t wait to come back!

I ordered Eggplant Chips and Tiramisu today. The order was taken by Mathew and I was told it will take 5 mins. I went out to another restaurant Tann to order Soup and Noodles. When I went back I reminded Mathew and also after he left to another gentleman at the counter. Everyone apart from me was served and after 30 mins I was asked again about my order then I completely lost it. After reminding my order twice someone after 30 mins can come and ask me what pizza or pasta I ordered. The reason for delay was that they put my order under wrong name, firstly Mathew never asked for my name and I told this to other gentleman also. Therefore there shouldn’t be a problem of wrong name. After speaking to Manager, I got different understanding which I don’t want to elaborate. One thing I will mention Tann was much more efficient in service and take away order.

Don’t waste your time!!!! Use to make great pizzas. Since the start of the year our take away orders have been late, wrong or not their usual standard. Given them 5 goes at getting it right but every time there has been an issue. Had enough!!!

What’s not to love about this place!! The service is next level, the food is incredible, wine, atmosphere!! One of my favourite places !!

It was our first visit to this restaurant and it ticked all the boxes. Great pizza, every meal served at the same time, great staff, fair prices. We will be back!

This is possibly one of the best restaurants located in Ivanhoe! We are a local here and love the food they serve. This was our first time here, but we have been couple of times to their other restaurant 'son of pizziazolo'in thornbury. I must say there is a noticeable difference in service. Service here is much friendly and inviting. I personally preferred pizza here as it was more enjoyable, less soggy. I should add, they charge extra $3 for buffalo mozzarella to add to your margarita. Cost isn't an issue, but doesn't justify the pea sized serving of it. Mushroom pizza was great. Red wine range is mediocre and expensive for the quality. Would come to give another try.

Super expensive for not much. Ordered large pizza which equated to a small elsewhere. When asked about the size, they explained to me that sometimes they don’t stretch the crust enough.’

This was the first time we ate here and won’t be the last. The food was delicious and service was great.

This place used to be our go-to in the area but sadly has gone downhill in recent months. The once delicious coal fired pizzas now just come out looking sad and soggy. The ingredients aren’t the same quality. The focus appears to have gone away from the diner and instead towards getting those Uber eats orders out as fast as possible.<br/>On a positive note the seafood pasta we had was quite good and the small bites are all tasty. <br/>We won’t be back in a hurry.

This place is my favourite Italian restaurant! The food is delicious, atmosphere is great for 2 or a group and the service is perfect. I’ve come here many times, bringing different people and they’ve all loved it. Great for a date too. Only thing is I liked the ragu in the pasta when it was cuts of meat as opposed to mince but still really tasty. Will be coming back again for sure

Great pasta and a really excellent pizza

This is the 5th time I’ve been here however the first time coming on a public holiday (Melb Cup). Upon walking in one of the staff said there was a 15% surcharge which we agreed to before sitting down. The issue with this is that there was one person serving the tables and they were already busy at 5:30pm that we didn’t get served for 15 mins. Just to get a bottle of water at the table I had to remind the lady to bring it over. I don’t believe you can charge extra money just for a public holiday to pay your staff if you don’t even have any on to cover the amount of people waiting on food. Such a joke!<br/><br/>The entrees were nice although expensive for what you got, especially the eggplant chips (5 chips for $12). The mushroom/truffle arancini were nice although expensive too (x3 for $15).<br/>Out of the 4 pizzas ordered, we got 2 Seafood ones (Ascea), 1 tirrena and 1 macelleria (excuse my spelling of these names). The seafood pizzas were super soggy and lacked flavour making them extremely disappointing. The zucchini was cut in chunks, not thin slices, there was no garlic or chilli on the pizza as mentioned and really had just a few prawns on the base and that was it (prawns were great though). The other 2 pizzas weren’t too bad although it was mentioned that they were also soggy. (3/4 or the base was soggy, only the crust wasn’t)<br/>Overall not the best dining experience and to be honest I wouldn’t go back, whether there is a surcharge or not. The pizzas have really gone down hill.

It was my first time here and would be my last time! The mussels were rotten, bay bug smelled off and the taste of the pasta was weird too.

Most definitely recommend the calzone x pizza main!! And the Capri pizza for vegetarians. We had the flourless chocolate cake with custard and blood orange. Very very good!!!

A great find in Ivanhoe. Really good atmosphere on a Monday night. The sizes are very generous and the service was very solid. <br/>Crust was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of pineapple to cheese ratio. <br/>The oven cooked bread was good but possibly could have come with a side of olive oil for dipping.<br/>Didn’t get to try pasta but will next time. <br/><br/>Overall a great traditional pizza place in the north east. <br/><br/>

From start to finish, we had a fantastic time at this place. Service was top notch and everything we had was delicious! From the calamari to the pizzas and pasta, all of it was fresh and came to the table at a good pace. Even though it was a weeknight, the place was buzzing with lots of happy customers. Definitely a keeper!

Really enjoyed the pasta as it wasn’t too heavy but rich in flavour ! The pizza crust however was slightly hard and too crusty for my liking, but still great flavours !

This is the second time I’ve been to this place. Food is so delicious and I always leave feeling satisfied. 😋 We had the arancini ball, semolina chips, chicken pizza, papperdelle and seafood pizza. I have absolutely no complaints as everything was 👌.

Family dinner with friends here certainly didn't disappoint. Booked a table at late notice and was accommodated without fuss. Ordered a mix of pizza and pasta dishes, proven roasted olives and desserts, all great. Lasagna was exceptional. Highly recommended.<br/>

Fantastic food and service as usual. Brought in a bottle of wine today and found out that the corkage is$12. I’ve never been anywhere, where it is more than $5. Thought that it’s a bit much for a pizza restaurant but no big deal I’ll definitely be back<br/>

Amazing food - every single dish was amazing! We ordered the arancini, and two pizzas as well as an ape roll spritz, they were all great! The waitresses and waiters were sooo super friendly! ❤️ can’t wait to go back and try more of the food ☺️

Tasty pizza and friendly staff. We had Tirreno Pizza and the seafood pizza, both were great. Didn’t wait too long for the pizza. Toppings are quite generous. They had a 10% surcharge for the Sunday.

We have dined at Woodfire a few times and more recently hosted an event on a Sunday which we were happy with. We had 36 guests and Mariana and Matthew set up the day and managed the event with no issues. From the planning to the actual day, everything ran smoothly. Food was delicious as always and all staff were exceptional. Great service every time and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful pizza and super friendly staff but unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy a rare family dinner out with our kids as the place we sat was so noisy we couldn’t even talk. Ask to be downstairs if you actually want to have a conversation. Definitely will go back but will ask to be downstairs.

Went here for boyfriends birthday, the pizza was amazing! Called 20 mins before and were able to get a table, they have plenty of seating which is great.

I have been here 3 times now and it’s become one of my families favourite Italian places. The staff are so helpful, attentive and friendly. There is a good atmosphere and plenty of seating, however if you are going on a weekend night you should definitely book. I haven’t tried the pasta yet but the pizzas are fantastic, beautiful woodfire pizza, without the burnt crust you sometimes get at other woodfire pizza places.

Booking for 4 on a busy & very noisy Friday night. Pizza good but thought corkage @ $12 per bottle excessive and disappointed we weren’t allowed to split the bill!

Ambience/decor: This place is always busy, it’s a 20 minute wait for a table at times.<br/><br/>Food: Pizzas are good, they have different sizes which is great especially if you want to just tryout a pizza or if you’re not that hungry. Love the Nutella calzone.<br/><br/>Service: When it’s busy here it can be hectic so servers might be flustered and grabbing their attention sometimes can be hard. But I’ve always been in and they’ve always been lovely <br/><br/>Price: Reasonable, not something out of range with other pizzerias I think. <br/><br/>Overall: I’ll be back, what can I say it’s a reliable joint to get good pizza.

Was excited to see a Woodfired pizza place with such high ratings. Decided to call in around 6.45 pm to book a seat. Call was answered by an automated system on a Wednesday and chose the option to book a seat. The phone rang for a few rings and the message came on saying that I had called them outside of business hours. Hmm.. not a good start. Decided to try my luck and go anyways as I really wanted to eat some pizza. Reached there and obviously the place was busy, i was told there is a wait of 20 mins for a place to sit. Decided to place a takeaway order and chose the Margherita and Ascea pizza. While paying I also noticed that even though they are Super busy apparently they still charge a Card payment surcharge even for a debit card, which they did not even care to mention while charging me the fee. Highly disappointing imo. Finally, coming to the pizza itself both of them had really thick edges and a meagre amount of toppings which made you feel you were mostly just eating bread. Also, you couldn’t taste any of the smokiness/ char of the wood fire. All in all it was an unsatisfying experience which unfortunately does not warrant a return trip. There is street parking near the place.

Delicious pizza. Nice, stylish interior. However a bit pricey for the size of the pizza (not that big) service was average. Friendly staff though and a good place to go for a catch up with friends. Would like to see an extension to the seafood pizza menu though!

Never disappoints. The pizza and pasta selection has something that will cater for everyone’s taste. Great thing bases and authentic taste! Can’t go wrong.

Came here for a lovely night out with my Girlfriend. Had a little mix up with our reservation name, I don’t know many people named Roe but oh well....<br/>The staff were very happy to help and very knowledgeable, made for an easy choice of meal. We shared a porcini pizza and a seafood linguine both which were thoroughly enjoyable. The only really downfall was the illumination of the table we were seated at, the lights looked nice and fancy but weren’t very effective. But overall great experience and would definitely go back, highly recommend.

Pizzas are good, however on both occasions I was given the wrong change for the meals ordered for pick up. This is unacceptable, so for this reason you get a one star.

AMAZING! Came here on a Wednesday night without a booking and it was booked out- which speaks volumes for this place! We had to wait 45 minutes for a table but it was completely worth it. <br/>We ordered the semolina chips, polpette al sugo which came with amazing bread, and arancini. All 3 appetisers were delicious, pack FULL of flavour. <br/>For pizzas we had the Tirreno which is a must if you love cheese, and the pizza di mattina which has amazing Italian sausage on it. <br/>Small size pizzas are quite small so I’d recommend at least a medium. Service was pretty good, hard to get waitors attention at times but it was quite busy, the staff were super friendly and helpful. They even split the bill for us! Would definitely recommend!

I would give it 3.5 stars actually. We ordered the margarita and Ascea pizza. They looked amazing when they came out. The taste is there, but unfortunately, the pizzas were bit cold..

Food was nice and served quick. Poor service in that when we received our bill, there were at least 4 additional items listed that were not ours. No apology. Actually, they said ‘they knew what had happened?’. Then, we were charged $7 for cakeage. Surely there error warranted at least an apology.

The food was quality but unfortunately the service let the place down. Waiter had no idea what anything was, didn’t know how many slices were on a pizza, and brought the mains out first then our entres. Unfortunate but nevertheless the food was great.

Picked this on the basis of 4 star rating. Bistro style Italian. Can vouch for the pizzas and pasta which were the usual selection but done well. Woodfired with crispy (not burnt) base and good quality toppings. Better than normal ambience and the place was half cool, downstairs at least. Haven't enjoyed pizza for sometime and thus was good. Probably a 5 star as far as pizza joints go. Semolina chips are great and should be tried. Good fast service with a smile. Pricing reasonable and they had 3 sizes making things a bit easier. Worth the effort to visit here. Have been 3 times now and enjoyed it every time. Staff very helpful but they can be choosy which is disappointing

We were there on a wintery, windy, Melbourne Wednesday night and were greeted with warm friendly smiles and a delicious aroma. We decided to try all the entrées and they were all hits! Mains were mostly pizzas and the youngsters managed to eat a desert pizza. The staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful. We'll be back!

The food here is amazing! The cheese-filled semolina chips are like manna from heaven! The seafood linguine was generous and yummy and the calzone had the beautiful wood fired flavour. Add to this great service and you can understand why we liked this so much!

Great venue, and good pace service.<br/>In terms of the food, house made was was delicious, and the wood fire pizzas are well balanced and cooked to perfection.<br/>Would just recommend menu knowledge for staff to be more concrete in terms of dietries and containing ingredients.<br/>And lastly the porcini pizza is written on the menu to contain truffle oil as its base. Music was very dance/trancy, had dirty cutlery and my lasagna looked like this. The are markings on the upstairs walls as well, nice looking lights though......

We love coming here as the food is amazing. However it was a bit of a let down tonight. We were placed in the dark and had 2 waitresses approach us within minutes of arriving already after we had ordered drinks. Don’t get me wrong the service is fantastic but the salads were bland compared to what we had experienced about 3 months ago. Back then the pizzas, entrees, sides and salads were amazing. Unfortunately it wasn’t the same<br/>Tonight. We will still come back it was just a bit disappointing

Tasty, unique, , mouth watering, delicious, flavoursome pizzas. I have never thought I would ever use those words to describe pizzas.<br/><br/>We came here for dinner with some friends. Having been to their old premises (where Delhicious is located now), we thought that we found a great small gem. Now, it's a great big, 2 level gem of a place.<br/><br/>The ingredients used are fresh and cooked to perfection which brings out the best of the ingredients.<br/><br/>Not only is their food awesome, so is the service. Prompt and friendly.<br/><br/>Only small negative is their lighting which I found to be a little dim.<br/><br/>Will definitely be coming here again and again with friends for catch ups, and to try all their different pizzas.

Phenomenal food!! We got the cheese filled semolina chips and they were to absolutely die for. I got the pappardelle bolognese which was slow cooked beef ragu done to absolute perfection. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

Can't go wrong with woodfire pizzas!<br/>Shared a Tartufo vegetarian pizza (similar to the way my Italian friend makes it at home 😊) , Porco Porcini meat pizza & a Linguine Di Mare amongst 3 people. Yummo!<br/>

I was excited to dine as a guest of Woodfire Pizzeria last night given I’d previously visited their sister restaurant and was interested to compare my prior experience to the Ivanhoe branch, being their original Cucina. They have had a presence in Ivanhoe for almost 20 years and their popularity is clearly well established given it was a Monday night and the place was absolutely pumping. I also noticed the presence of several other pizza restaurants in close proximity none of which were anywhere near as busy as WP. <br/>We decided to skip over entree to leave room for dessert and ordered a chicken salad, a Margherita and lasagne to share for main. The chicken salad had a generous serve of avocado which was lovely to see during the avo shortage and the pizza had a perfectly puffed up crust and super thin base. Adding the optional buffalo mozzarella is an absolute must as it’s high quality produce and beautifully fresh. For me I felt there wasn’t enough rich tomato base on there but the cheese was deliciously plentiful. <br/>I had a lasagne craving and it’s not something I usually order as I don’t love the texture of mince meat BUT this was made with a slow cooked beef ragu which was absolutely heavenly. So flavoursome and hearty. Again not as tomatoey as you generally see but the perfectly melted bechamel made this dish a real standout for me. All washed down with some extremely reasonably priced cocktails at $13 (name me anywhere else that sells a martini or a mojito for $13 I challenge you) and they didn’t skimp on the alcohol either. <br/>Dessert wise we ordered a white chocolate and strawberry pizza and the evoo cake. <br/>The pizza was a small size and had three scoops of ice cream on top which was a bit disproportionate but still a tasty sweet ending. The highlight for me was definitely the unique and intriguing lemon and extra virgin olive oil cake served with honey sauce. If that wasn’t interesting enough it also came with buffalo mozzarella ice cream! So different and really delicate flavours. Gorgeous presentation too and it’s great to see them experimenting with exciting combinations. A dish not to be missed. A great little local with relaxed atmosphere to enjoy some authentic Italian food

A lot to like about this local Italian restaurant. The food is cooked with Italian love. The pastas are oozing with flavour and they come with generous servings. The pizzas are authentic woodfire. Just like you would get in your local pizzeria in Italy. I didn't love the octopus starter but I'm sure other would love it. The vibe was really good. The place is sheek and clean. You really can't ask for anything more from a suburban restaurant.

Best Italian in the area, full stop. Cook pasta al dente the way it’s supposed it be. Meatballs like your Italian mamma makes. And white chocolate calzone in case you need convincing.<br/><br/>Updated- new mushroom risotto is to die for. Rating upped!

Awesome little place! Gnocchi spinaci tasted like it was straight from nonnas kitchen - food came within 20 minutes of ordering (for a table of 6) Highly recommend!

Made a reservation for 815pm on boxing day for a group of 7 adults. Turned up only to be told by the very rude manager that our reservation was taken by mistake and they had no tables available. Really? He wasn't even apologetic. Your food may be decent and I've been a regular but this occasion was enough to turn me off for good. Never returning ever.

Really really good pizza. You can tell just by looking at it is going to be delicious and you only have to look around to see how busy this place gets, even late on a Tuesday, to know it’s a highly sort after pizza spot. <br/><br/>The dough was made and cooked perfectly, puffy and soft at the crusts, thin but not hard at the base. The range of pizzas is extensive too with something to suit all taste buds.<br/><br/>The staff were very attentive and friendly however the wait time for our food was fairly long. I have a feeling though that there may have been a function upstairs given the time of year and amount of food going up there. <br/><br/>Otherwise could not fault the evening, highly enjoyed the food and would definitely come back again for more.

Disappointed. Second attempt at trying out this place. First time I had an oily carbonara congealed with grease. Second time I had a dessicated chunk of tuna served with a green salad that tasted like a bucket of salt fell in it. I was literally crunching on salt crystals. Both times my partner had a gluten free pizza which she found quite tasty. The service is reasonable but a bit cramped downstairs to really relax.
