Great dumplings and vegetarian soup! Our usual place for take away dumplings , great value for what you get! Try ginger prawn dumplings, very tasty and different!
The vegetarian spring rolls and dumplings are amazing and the sweet and sour chicken has an amazing sauce thats really good on rice :) Service was pretty good but the floor of the store was a bit weirdly sticky. (suggest getting a new cleaning product for the floor cos it was sticking to my shoes lol)

7/10 overall for those authentic steamed dumplings ... good $6.90 for 6 pcs of Xiao long bao ... $6 for 6 pcs of Chicken and Corn needs a thinner and softer skin ... definitely value for money ... good and attentive service too, perfect wet weather place to hangout on a Monday. JT-16/04/2018.
Found this place by chance and stumbled in and ordered some dumplings and lemon chicken. Food came really quick, was delicious and I was served with a happy welcoming smile. Definitely will be back to try some other dishes.
First time been here, service is quiet good, but the food really impressed me, Ive been looking for delicious fired rice and dim sum for a while, if u want tasty Chinese food, here is the place.

I absolutely love this place! They have the best prawn spring rolls I've ever had; proper prawns inside and absolutely delicious. The lunch deals are great value and the staff are so lovely! Highly recommended :)

Had dinner at the red lounge tonight for my sisters birthday. Last minute decision today to give the place a go but have to say what a great find. The family who run the red lounge are very friendly and so attentive. Dumplings really tasty and the food was really fresh. Really well priced. Will definitely be back. The owners even made a basket of birthday custard bao for my sisters birthday. Great little place
Huge plates of organically grown veggies, crispy spring onion pancakes and cute little dumplings all at a super cheap price! This place is like no Chinese I've ever eaten at. We got all this (see pics) for $60.00, including soft drinks.
The restaurant is clean and modern and the service is friendly. Its our go-to when we want a healthy feed at a decent price!
Local dumpling house. Yummy fresh dumplings! Good range available. More expensive than in the city, but this is understandable as volume is much lower, and everything is prepared fresh to order.
Friday evening, and I have to say that the service was quite abrupt. The place was busy and I think it made the staff, particularly the one in charge, stressed and therefore quite rude and it really ruined my experience. I've been here a good few times and this was the first time I was met with a rude welcome. The good was of course great as always but just this one off time I really disliked being there.
So cheap and very yum! Only improvement would be to get a byo license...

Loved it!! Went for a friend's birthday and the staff were very accomodating, they brought out her cake with candles and sang her happy birthday, gave us complementary bowls of jelly beans to celebrate and even gifted her a small tea set! The pork siu mai were some of the best I've had and the xiao long bao very tasty also. The only let down was some confusion on the staffs behalf as due to our very large order but they were quite apologetic. Will be going back!

WOW! This is great!. The experience here is fantastic. The prices are incredibly cheap. HUGE siumai, perfect sticky rice, AMAZING xiao long bao. Put it this way, I'm going back tomorrow with family! Another little trick, they are more than happy to make very special chinese dishes if you ask ahead of time and give a budget. Go here ASAP!
Fresh vegies!!!. I've lived in China and I found this to be real "home-style" Chinese cooking. I have never enjoyed so many fresh, in-season vegies in a Chinese restaurant -- often the meat is the main feature and the vegies an afterthought. That said, the organic ox tail we had one night was fantastic. This is a new favourite for me and I can't wait to go back.

How lucky are we to have such a wonderful local restaurant. All our dishes were amazing. Fresh, organic (where possible), full flavoured, and all in a cool and calming atmosphere. We ordered many classic dishes and more uncommon traditional Chinese dishes - our three children devoured the offerings and we had to order seconds of a couple! Served by Robert who was attentive and delightful in explaining the nuances of each dish.
Everything was so fresh, lovely meal, friendly service. Will drive from port melbourne to Ivanhoe again
Amazing!!. Everything was so fresh, healthy, and tasty. We had the pan fried prawn dumplings, veg spring rolls, pork and veg dumplings, singapore noodles and pork belly. The staff were attentive but not in your face. Our new regular asian takeaway! Just as good as a fancy restaurant - if not better!!

Great food just like what your mama would make!. It's great that Red Lounge Cafe uses organic produce but the best part is the homely cooking that comes out from the kitchen reminding you of hearty home cooked meals only your mum could make! Delicious, clean and fresh! A must try!
