Review Soul Bytes - Ivanhoe

Andreas Behren
The iced Latte was really good and the breakfast nice but not outstanding. It is a bit over priced for Ivanhoe and for what you get, but not crazy. Service is friendly but still a bit unorganized. Will come back.

Since changing hands (again), I’ve really enjoyed Soul Bytes. The menu now has my fave items from the Cafe Ivanhoe days back! Comfy seating, quick service

Really normal sized breakfast, not an overwhelming feast but rather, like the porridge, just right. Lovely staff, nice food

The food was delicious but when they served my friend's nice waffles there was a small "somethin"... they apoligized and brought a new one. Find it difficult to go there again

Service homely and friendly enough.
Food and coffee dreadful.
Poached eggs undercooked, almost raw- put on toast with loads of water which made toast soggy, coffee burnt.
Hollandaise weird tasting.
No effort from the kitchen whatsoever.
Most amuetuer food I've ever paid for.
While paying i was hoping to give some feedback but we weren't asked if everything was ok, or if we enjoyed or anything.
Dishes came out at different times.
mopping the whole floor at an inappropriate busy time. Lots of banging of pots and noise coming from the kitchen.
Overall not a smooth operation.

Food is inconsistent. Service today was great wasn’t the usual lady who always looks disinterested agree with comments bellow still has a lot of work to bring it to where Paul had it

A cute, comfortable and nice cafe to sit in and catch up with friends. They’re my go to for coffees, which are nice and creamy, flavoursome and not at all bitter! The food’s not great but would definitely recommend the waffles!

Thought I would try it to give it the benefit of the doubt.
Nice set up, but I don’t think toasting bread is a difficult task.
Coffee was also pretty below average.
Needless to say, will not be returning.

Came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast and we weren’t impressed. I ordered the breakfast duo which was hard to eat (not neat) and the muesli bowl was way too big and not tasty at all. The barista kept singing loudly to the songs playing which was odd. I expected the cafe to have more ‘soul’ food, but it’s just run of the mill. Place was empty, you can see why!

Came here on a Saturday morning. Beautiful place! Coffee was lovely. Food was amazing! So only downfall was the wait which I don't really mind so don't come here if you are in a rush. Other than that. We will come back regularly!

Went here to try for a change and unfortunately wasn't impressed. The women working there were really disinterested in being there, the takeaway cabinet looked quite sad was my first impression on the side of the food.
I ordered smashed avo with an egg on GF toast. The toast wasn't even toasted.. Which made for a cold soggy combo with the avo, the cherry tomatoes weren't grilled just raw and old and squishy, the haloumi pieces were nice but clearly cooked in old oil as they had that taste oh and I never got my egg either.. . My friend ordered the chilli scramble which looked undercooked and pale, the bacon in the eggs was pale, Un cooked like the bulk pre cut stuff on pizzas.. It was so unappealing. I wanted to buy sweets to take home but decided not to as the freshness of everything really put me off.
When we paid I asked if I was charged for the egg as I didn't recieve it and the lady said na you didnt and shut me down, no apology for getting my order wrong. A waste of cash and we won't be back sorry. The food, service and atmosphere needs a lot of work

My friend and I decided to visit here for a lazy Sunday brunch but were sadly far from impressed.

It wasn’t overly busy but we were kept waiting almost 30 minutes before our meals were finally served. My friend chose a very simple scrambled eggs on toast with bacon which she found rather bland and quite dry. I decided to order the chicken and zucchini salad, especially after our service staff’s recommendation. Unfortunately, the spiraled zucchini had not been drained and it was literally swimming in liquid. A few bits of chicken thrown on top were barely warm and partially undercooked, almost like it was an afterthought.

Overall, very dissatisfied and the manageress (?) seemed uninterested and didn’t bother to ask how our meals were when when I proceeded to pay. Needless to say we won’t be coming back.

Got the breakfast duo and chicken skewers which were both very tasty. Great coffee, nice ambience and friendly staff perfect for casual breakfast
