Great local cafe, some of the best coffee in Ivanhoe and it always comes with great friendly service. The food is always fresh and tasty, prices are reasonable. Plenty of seating inside and out, if you call ahead they will reserve a table for you.

My mother and I went there just a few mins ago, the service okay and fast but my mother was unable to eat food there cause of her allergies and religious causes. We could hear the two girls working there talking about how if she couldn’t eat it this then what does she expect to eat. My mom is gluten-free and can’t eat avocado food due to allergies, if just eat it, she could possible even develop cancer cells. She is also vegetarian due to religious reasons, we can’t throw our religion away for some pieces of food that don’t even have flavour so i hope you and your staff realise that.

Very friendly staff. Clean, tidy & prompt with or order. Good secure area to leave out bikes unattended. They are looking for staff, this would be a great place to work.

Great place, friendly staff! Food and coffee are amazing every time they hit the spot. This café is perfect to catch up with friends and having breakky, brunch, lunch or indulge ourselves with a coffee a sweets (everything handmade). The outdoor area is perfect to get a bit of sun and the inside area is really cozy.

This is our regular go to place! Michelle, Daniel, George and the team are so welcoming and the coffee is the best! Brekki and lunch is yum! Great outdoor area - dog and kid friendly! Highly recommended !!

I've been here twice now and ordered the exact same breakfast. Porridge with poached pear. So delicious and filling. Service is really good too. Have to try another dish next time but it's hard to go past a dish you really enjoy and know is great 👍

This place has the most expensive coffee in Melbourne! A complete rip off to charge $1 for an extra shot. This is a very ordinary cafe that thinks it can charge more than Collins St for very average quality

Always visit here when I have lunch with my daughter.. Love this cafe, food is delicious I had the fettuccine yesterday with the sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts and a hint of chili � to top it off.. Staff are very friendly even when I take my grand dog to visit.. �

Ordered the Veggie Big Breakfast through Ubereats during the Covid-19 lockdown. The food was delicious. The poached eggs remained intact and there was no mess with the rest of the food either. Delivery was punctual. Also no plastic was used in the packaging at all.

Great service and delicious food. On my third visit, after only going there twice in a month, the staff knew my coffee order. Very impressed. Would happily go there again.

It’s like going back to Italy - stunning coffee , served with finesse . Beautiful fresh food - served rustically and with great flair . Wonderful to sit with family , plus dog in sunny courtyard . Always greeted with a smile and a chat . A European experience, great Burgers, stunning crispy chicken salad , beautiful breakfasts . Would be savoured by anyone missing cafes in Europe - relaxing ambience , well worth a visit .

Presentation and all is fine. Though food itself is slightly unusual. I ordered for an avocado smash. The avo and feta mix was so cold. It was not frozen but really really cold. Kind of kills the whole idea of a hot (or even warm) breakfast. My partner ordered a vegie big breakfast which was kind of okay. His avo was cold too but he didn't mind it too much as it was just one of the many items.<br/>Service is lovely. Coffee is good.

Food is horrible as is the service. The waitress spilt two of our coffees without offering a replacement nor napkins to clean up the mess. We had to constantly get their attention for service and they didn't replace the empty water bottle. The muesli is cheap packet mix with a small amount of nasty cheap yoghurt. Can't believe I paid money for it. Much better options along the street.

My friend treated me to a fantastic birthday lunch at this friendly cafe in the heart of Ivanhoe just the other day. The cafe is just along Woolworths so you can pop in there for brunch and coffee before you do your shopping or if you feel you need a pick me up. <br/><br/>We started off with our coffee favourites, a flat white coffee for me and a skinny latte for my friend. They were very smooth and really hit the spot. <br/><br/>I then ordered the Corn and Zucchini Fritters Stack with beetroot, chargrilled corn, pesto, tomato relish and poached eggs. I am vegetarian so I skipped the bacon that came with it. The combination of the flavours really complimented the Fritters otherwise this kind of dish can be bland. I was also impressed with the plating. It was art on a plate! <br/><br/>My friend had the Crispy Chicken Asian Salad. There was plentiful of Crispy Chicken and was dressed with teriyaki dressing and accompanied with crunchy noodles, bean and pea shoots, carrots, capsicum and shredded cabbage. This salad will definitely provide you with your vitamins for the day! <br/><br/>We are definitely onto a winner with this cafe. The food is delicious and fresh and the waiting staff are friendly and attentive. Portions are generous and you won't need to take out a mortgage to eat there as most dishes are under $20.00, not bad for this day and age. Keep up the good work with the tasty dishes and smooth coffees!!

Really good and fresh tasting food. We had the breakfast burger which was HUGE and the breakfast bruschetta. Next time we would add another piece of toast with the breakfast bruschetta as it wasn't super filling but aside from that the taste was great. Coffees were also good and service was fast.

Had the Egg and Bacon Roll with tomato relish and Breakfast Bruchetta.Food was good---the flavours in the Egg and Bacon roll really went well together and they were quite generous with the bacon.<br/>The Bruchetta was very refreshing. I felt that the Bruchetta was a bit pricy while the Egg and Bacon roll was very worth the price given the generous amount of bacon.<br/>The coffee was great but the tea was just regular tea bag chai. <br/>Overall its a nice place for breakfast---I would recommend it..nice and friendly people with spacious tables and quite abit of seating space

Beautiful and friendly service they were very attentive and quick. My pancakes were light and fluffy and the mascarpone was delicious! Have to say the bacon was my favourite though! Very happy!

We live in the area, but it has taken us so long to try out Cafe n Addictions, and I'm not sure why. After today's visit we will most definitely be back.<br/><br/>The service is impeccable. The staff greeted me and my family on arrival, were really friendly, and really friendly and patient with our young children too.<br/> <br/>We only stopped in for some coffee and cake. The coffee's were great, no complaints at all. The cakes we had (blueberry muffin, jam doughnut muffin, and a lamington) were also very tasty. The Jam Doughnut muffin was probably the best of the bunch.<br/><br/>The only let down was the price of a baby-chino.. $3 is on the more expensive end of the scale, but our daughter enjoyed it, and it kept her quite for a few minutes admiring the skillfully drawn frog face in the froth (using chocolate sauce).<br/><br/>The breakfasts that came out for other customers while we were there looked great, so next time we will definitely make sure we have a meal.

Good coffee, nice seating areas both outdoors and indoors, selection of newspapers for customers. Coffee was served efficiently by the barista. Taste and temperature were just right.

The service is good, the food is good, the coffee needs work. Prices are slightly too high, but the real kicker is the ridiculous new surcharge for eftpos payments under $15... When banks don't even charge for small transactions?

This cafe used to be good. Unfortunately it's going down hill fast. Not sure if they have changed the coffee. They have changed the coffee maker. Not good at all. You ask for your coffee to be made a certain way however it comes out differently. This cafe is loosing customers fast.

Brilliant cafe for breakfast. The menu features A range of healthy options and excellent coffee in a relaxed setting. The outdoor courtyard is a great place to sit early morning on a nice day.

An amazing cafe, i am a regular. Usually get the chicken burger, for me it was cooked perfect for me. My usual drink is the nutella mocha, Which is also great. I recommend going there for a good lunch or breakfast, great service, it is clean, good seating, bathroom, WiFi. Everyone has a great attitude and are always smiling.

Coffee From The Brick Wall<br/><br/>Never even noticed this place as it seems apart of the red brick wall that it tucks into. Cant say anything about the food as we just got coffee. I had the single origin which was on point and my mate had the house blend and we both left happy. The service was also great but if i was running this place i would definitely change the name and make the place more noticeable.

We didn't have long so lucky the service was really quick and professional. Chicken burger was better than I thought. Plenty of juices to have with lunch.

Popped in here for a drink for the cafesmart day - I got a piccolo which was quite nice! Had a look at the menu which looked like they had a really great range of options, both for breakfast and lunch. Had great vibe to the place, would come back here with a group of friends

Cute cafe at the edge of Ivanhoe township. Only dropped in for a coffee as part of a cafe hop to raise money for the cafesmart raise money for homeless. Had a latte that was delicious!! The menu looked great and would pop back to try some of the food!!

Perhaps this place has changed owners but the food quality has dropped. The steak sandwich was terrible, steak was like old boot leather cooked to death. When a cook can't even fry frozen chips properly then it's concerning. I was a regular but no more.

Good spot for breakfast/brunch. Good range of options for breakfast. Good coffee. Reasonably priced. Staff super friendly. Good choice in the crowded Ivanhoe cafe market!

Average. I'm kind of over people not getting service right in cafes. Greet, seat, water, drinks, food order, clear. Sounds simple but a lot of places fail to do this. Cafe n addictions is one such place. Good food. Burnt coffee.

Tasty Tucker & Excellent Value for Money along with coffee to rave about. My 1st visit for lunch today & I ordered a Chicken Burger with avocado and fries. The chicken & avocado blended well on my palate and I struggled to get through it, leaving about a quarter. Extremely friendly, polite & efficient staff make this café buzz. My two friends (who are regulars) also enjoyed the food and rave about the coffee being the very best on offer in Ivanhoe.<br/><br/>Phill Jury (food critic & writer)

Always Remember Your Regulars. I love this place. Who wouldn't with it's delicious, innovative food at a good price (except for the cakes which are ordinary), nice owners, great coffee and good service; but when you love something and it spurns you, it hurts twice as much.<br/>After being told on three occasions that we couldn't eat from the cooked menu because they had booked a large table of people (all twelve would you believe) and being turned away on two other occasions due to private functions, we are over our addition and our patience has finally expired.<br/>Farewell Creatures Adieu. We go in search of another local.<br/>.

Great coffee & Yummy breakfast. New Owners??. Dropped in here for a late Sunday breakfast. Service was brisk despite it being quite busy. Coffee was great and according to my son, the iced chocolate was "super yummy". Smashed avocado and poached eggs was really nice, and the servings were a good size. A few new faces on the staff. Might be new owners??

Felt invisible, on my own and ignored. When I waved a waitress over to get a menu she took my coffee order but after she delivered said coffee was about to walk away, I said 'can I order some food?' She looked taken aback. What? It's lunchtime and I asked for a menu!! Other staff look efficient. I got the dud. Rant over.

Friendly little cafe. Went here for lunch yesterday. Wait staff were accommodating as well as being friendly and helpful without being over the top. Food was great, the lunch I ordered I really enjoyed, was reasonably priced and I was full all afternoon! Coffee was also good. Will be eating here again.

Don't bother. Average standard cafe food. rather overpriced, salad was just a few bits of chicken on top of some rocket with literally 4 pieces of dried cucumber.

Tried this cafe after it was recommended to me. Tried the omelette and my friend had the Eggs Alla Zucca. We both enjoyed our breakfast very much. Coffee was perfect and I will definitely be back.

My local fav... We really like your coffee! Breakie was delicious too, I'll try the breakfast salad next time. We alway feel comfortable here and the staff are pleasant and attentive. Sitting in the courtyard was really relaxing and yet we still felt like we were part of the activity. Coming back with friends next week, I'm sure they will like it too!

This is my favourite local. The coffee is always silky smooth, no matter which barista makes it. The staff are friendly and always cheery. The food is always delicious and I've noticed they are now offering interesting specials. A must visit cafe.

Are people getting Clayton and Ivanhoe mixed up?. It seems to me that the last few reviews are possibly getting Creatures in Clayton confused with Creatures in Ivanhoe??? This is our favourite cafe in Ivanhoe; we like that it is not in the main drag. We love the coffee and food, always get good service with a smile, and never have to wait too long. The fit out is funky and the menu is great. The prices are very very reasonable.

Arrived received no water on the table, rude waiter, couldn't change items on big breakfast, smashed avocado dish is $16 for ONE slice of bread with avocado on it (as big as a kid serving) I went home and ate cereal cause i was so hungry.... i was told that they would deduct money off the bill due to a mistake in our order and didn't follow through and still charged us incorrectly, not to mention the food took 30 minutes.....

Not impressed.. I was really starting to like this place, however the last few visits really changed my opinion. Most recently I visited and ordered two take-away coffees, however for some reason, because I was only ordering two coffees, they decided to give my order the least priority, I waited 15 minues, barely anyone was in the cafe, and they served what seemed to be a "regular" before me. Very unprofessional, I won't be returning, not good enough.

Creatures of habit: An amazing bunch of staff, I am always 100% happy with their service. Their food is never less than perfect. I recommend the steak sandwich and banana smoothie!

DON'T EVEN BOTHER. You'll get better food in a shopping centre food court. Food 1/10. Coffee 3/10. Attitude 1/10. Food tasteless, terrible and over priced. Coffee weak and burnt. A really bad start to a Sunday. The place looks nice enough but seriously lacking in any of the attributes that make Melbourne a cafe capital. They need to go out and eat at some quality establishments to get some tips. Won't make a habit of going here - in fact that's the first and last time. Don't make the same mistake we did - don't even make it a first time...

Average. Have been twice. First visit had poached eggs bacon coffee. Poached eggs were hard boiled bacon very salty good coffee nice thick piece of bread, service poor. Second visit had muesli and coffee. Different guy making coffee which was very bad, muesli only had a tiny drop of fruit on top. There are better cafes in Ivanhoe.

Best Ivanhoe cafe. I love the breakfast salad here- a unique offering that is super tasty! The long blacks go down deliciously smooth with no bad aftertaste. A local favourite of mine! The french toast comes in a huge serving. Not a huge selection of cakes or cookies, but the rest of Ivanhoe covers that territory well enough.

First time....I was impressed.. Went there for the first time a few weeks ago - loved the coffe...strong, hot and delicious. Took my kids back to try the breakfast menu as it read beautifully..we were not disappointed. Food was great size serve, fresh and lovely. Even brought along an additional plate as i mentioned that my youngest and I would be sharing the 'big breakfast'..glad we did, beause it was a pretty good serve! Nice staff, friendly and very pleasant. will be back.

Great little place. Have been here numerous times. Always good coffee served, attentive staff and food well prepared. Usually a good crowd in here so a sign this is a well regarded place. Never been disappointed. Would recommend.

Rip off. If you want to pay $5.50 for a large take away coffee that tastes mundane then Creatures of Habit is your kind of cafe. Honestly, if I wanted coffee this bad I would go to Laurent up the street.

Luke warm. Mainstream. Quick Veneziano coffee, nothing special. Breakfast burger 10/10 delicious. French toast on trend with brioche & marscapone excessive serving size. Attentive staff.

Messy. I seen a really good looking cafe...shame about the rest though. They had a display cabinet....with doughnuts!! Yes, the ugly cheap tacky frosted doughnuts that you buy from supermarkets. Not the kind of thing id like to eat at a cafe. The coffee was terrible, cold and watery. We waited almost 20 minutes for the coffee, and they were only 4 other tables which was baffling. The food was decent, but way overpriced for how ordinary and run of the mill it was. The wait staff have no clue, there inexperienced and slow. This place has no personality, id rather eat at macdonalds, there coffees better lol.

Dukkah Chicken is a must!!. Creatures of Habit is a fanastic little cafe in Ivanhoe. Great staff, funky interior and great food. They are also licensed - what more can you ask for? I had the Dukkah Chicken for lunch. Delicious!!

Suddenly my Saturday morning coffee and newspaper read has become more enjoyable! As a local I normally would not have walked to the edge of the Ivanhoe shopping strip for a coffee. A friend took me to Creatures this morning and i was impressed by the great coffee, the ambient music - not too loud - and the service with a smile! Will be back next Saturday morning!

The cofee is way too watery and way too hot, like they boil the milk or something. Its not silky smooth at all. The wait staff are ametuers and have no real clue...poorly operated as both my experiences have been really really ordinary.

A must visit cafe. Had lunch there today after it being highly recommended, and for good reason!! All day breakfast and a large selection of rolls, focaccias, and specials makes this place a great lunch stop. The Mediterranean focaccia $9 was amazing and the Arancini with spinach and ricotta $13 were to die for. Support this local cafe and amazing staff and get down there!!

Great customer service. Coffee was good, great atmosphere, decor and the customer service was so friendly and lovely. Had the eggs royal, was a little cold and not enough hollandaise. This place has a lot of potential and will be back to try something different and hope its nice and hot!

This morning we visited Creatures of Habit cafe in Ivanhoe for a breakfast date with Craig's family. I can see why people may become creatures of habit going back to this cute little cafe- from the outside eating area, funky iron gates, friendly service and yummy food it is definitely a must visit in Ivanhoe where many of the cafes can be a little hit and miss. There was a little confusion between Craig and I and his family regarding the booking- we arrived at 10am and they at 10.30. The staff were very accommodating and regularly offered us food and drinks while we were waiting. The menu features a wide range of brunch treats, from the traditional to the modern. I thought about getting the yummy sounding baked lima beans with poached egg on sourdough but decided to do the right thing for my healthy eating plan and go with the breakfast salad, but chose to replace the bacon with smoked salmon leaving lettuce, roasted capscium, tomato, avocado, feta, smoked salmon and two poached eggs.

M's eggs royale was great too, the salmon good quality and the eggs and hollandaise just as good as mine!
