Review Smiley Thai - Jannali

Really bad quality food. I will give it 2 stars because it is also extremely cheap and if you were a student you could make rice and live off a dish for a few days for just 12-13 dollars. But as an adult I would really prefer if they charged $20 and made a sauce that was at least as good as supermarket food. This is supposed to be Panang curry but is a watery tasteless soup, all the dishes were the same watery mix including dishes that should be stir fries. Incomprehensible that a restaurant would serve food like this when you can get a perfectly good thai sauce from a $2 bottle at Aldi that is at least a real sauce.

great food great price and they also have gluten free and vegan options, super accommodating. Also really cheap home delivery service to surrounding areas. All round great time will definitely order again!

Not been for a few years was great, last week the green seafood curry had nil coriander, nil lemon grass and really nil spice strength, I’ve made and bought these for 30years and had em in Thailand, think I’ll give it a miss next time

Ordered Laksa because I was sick. Almost choked on a USED toothpick wrapper in my Laksa. Disgusting and unsanitary. Didn’t care when we called to tell them either… DONT ORDER FROM HERE!!!

Amazing service, and the best Thai I have ever had! The staff are wonderful people always serving with a smile, and the food is somehow even better. Everyone is so welcoming and accommodating of every diet and preference, with a plethora of vegan options to choose from and customise. The service was astoundingly fast for such high quality food, and I know I will definitely be frequenting Smiley Thai as often as possible :)

Smiley Thai is undoubtedly the best Thai place I've ever eaten at, for a plethora of reasons: - The food: Tasted absolutely amazing and had a perfect balance of excellent texture with wonderful flavour! - The waiting staff: Really nice and friendly, and really care about your experience :) They took the time to understand my individual preferences and suggest items on the menu to help me choose what I could eat, which was very helpful being vegan and needing food to have mild spice - All the staff in general: Also very friendly and accommodating; with every interaction I had with them they looked like they really cared about what they were doing and their smiles were infectious :) - The food arrival time: Incredible as we ordered on a busy Saturday night and our two mains came within 5-10 minutes of ordering! - The menu: Very diverse, colourful and versatile, and include plenty of options that can be made vegan and/or gluten-free (useful especially as I am vegan and it's uncommon to have so many vegan Thai options!) - The location and accessibility: A few mins walk from Jannali Station, the restaurant is perfect for those who use public transport (including myself!) - The dine-in experience: Interior is very nicely designed, with nice booth tables and charming decorations which add to the experience - Value for money: Excellent and the food was really affordable especially considering the vegan options! Overall, Smiley Thai has excellent food, service, and offers a generally amazing experience which definitely exceeds expectations. I will definitely be bringing more family and friends here again and would recommend the place to anyone and everyone!

Food was disappointing, asked for beautiful pumpkin chicken, was far from beautiful! We were paying with dine and discover vouchers over charged and still got a poor service and wrong food. Ordered beautiful pumpkin chicken and asked for potatoes and vegetables instead of mushroom and egg, asked the waitress multiple times what sauce was used and she said it was soy, oyster and a little bit of sugar I said it was fine as long as there was no peanuts as I am allergic. It came out with no chicken or potatoes and the sauce was watery soy sauce the chicken tasted sour and dry. The coconut rice came out dry and tasted like it had been sitting there for a while. Ordered yellow lamb curry with potatoes came out with four tiny pieces of potatoes more cabbage then lamb and potatoes combine but cabbage not even listed on menu. Have eaten there before but will definitely not be returning.
