Great coffee & meals. Reasonably priced. Will return.
Fattie Livingstone
Really good! We had the French toast with bacon, maple syrup and fresh fruit and the Classic Breakfast with perfect poached eggs and bacon. Would definitely make the trip again.
Lynda Drust
Best coffee ever!! Had breakfast here today. Both Eggs Benedict & Arvo on Toast were awesome. Thanks guys, we'll be back. Muffins & carrot cake are exceptional as well. Very friendly owners & staff. Great service, well done.
James Russell
Fantastic takeaway coffee and ham and cheese croissant. I will definitely be making this spot a regular and can not wait to go there for a sit down breakfast as the menu looked quite appealing. Super friendly staff and quick service.

Canā€™t believe Iā€™ve gone so long without knowing about this gem! From the genuine warm welcome to the delicious, huge breakfasts - itā€™s for sure a new favourite šŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸ
Donna Renton Hubbard
Just had a beautiful lunch...fresh and delicious! Highly recommend. Any chance loose leaf tea can be added to the menu ļæ½
Carol Draper
Appalling customer service!! Absolutely no understanding of the concept of the customer is king. Despite ok food and coffee, you still need customers and treating them this badly will ultimately ruin your business.
Jocelyn Purcell
One of the nicest cafes I've been to in Perth. If you want a great lunch/brunch in Joondalup this is the place. This restaurant has a lovely ambiance (sit outside if you can), Great food, good service and resonably priced.
Sophie Moores
Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere and awesome customer service. My new go to breakfast and lunch stop!
Joe Ingram
First time there for breakfast. We had the eggs bennie and it was delicous! Best ive had in a while. We will be back!
Pieter-Bus Blom
We regular The Buttery fairly frequently and today, once again they exceeded our expectations. Had the salmon Benedict, and OMG, it was a simple dish done to perfection. That is the dish that needs absolutely no improvement. I was raving about it the entire day... The Buttery, it's a MUST!!!
Megan Futcher
I LOVE The Buttery! Friendly staff, quick service and excellent food! Hands down the best breakfast ever! Just love their hash browns and their Hollandaise sauce! The toasted banana bread and the homemade butter is such a treat too!
Berni Suffield
Fantastic cafe... one of my favourite places... best kept secret... ļæ½

Food is always great BUT I am so so so upset you have changed your coffee brand. We frequently got take away coffees to the hospital (all staff drs and nurses on our ward) 3 x a week, sometimes more. We all dislike the new coffee taste and so won't be ordering anymore coffees. We are devastated.. please consider bringing back your old coffee... to win over your old hospital based fans again!
Little Chef
Had the pulled lamb burger and it was fantastic, nice brioche bun, dressed salad, perfect fried egg and home made hash brown too. Great combination of flavour and works so well served by friendly staff in a busy atmosphere.
Only small point was the milkshake was a bit small but other than that great little place!
Cait
Would highly recommend The Buttery Cafe. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and food came out a good rate for how busy it was šŸ°šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Looks like Buttery is under new management. Poor service, very dirty, the old charm is gone. Its a pity it is still operating under the original owner's business name. Old owners were PERFECT. New guys, not so much. Seen it empty many times during peak times. That speaks a lot

Came here after our daily hospital visit and i was surprised as to why i havenā€™t tried this place earlier! Coffee was so good and the food was delicious! I got the Madame Ruben and the bread was different but very tasty! Almost like a light french toast. The hash browns is made from some kind of mash and was crunchy on the outside. Customer service was friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back here :)
Greenplategirl
Iā€™ve been here a few times lately and love it. The breakfast selection is great. I highly recommend the polenta with mushrooms.. best breakfast dish I have had in a long time. 10/10 for sure! Very cute decor and lots of nice spots for seating. Breakfast for 2 people $40-$50 but worth it for a treat :)
Chelsea Louise
Average! I waited a LONG time (25minutes) and paid nearly $20 for one pancake which tasted like something I could make. Wouldn't recommend it and won't go back.
Shashi
breakfast spot with great coffee and reliably good meals. Nicely sized portions without being too big and filling. I got the waffles - they are as tasty as they look.
Mimmi
Amazing good. Great coffee and service. Such an array of choices for breakfast! The Mexican pulled lamb quesadilla is to die for! Generous serving sizes also! Will be back
James.N
Never disappoints! Great coffee and moorish food, excellent attention to detail and service. Highly recommend this for breakfast or a brunch.

THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Beautiful food! Was so happy we popped in today whilst visiting "the end of the freeway" because our breakfast was absolutely delish! Menu is pretty standard with a few creative dishes. I went with my favourite classic, Salmon Benedict. The toast was thick cut, full of divine nuts and seeds and really lovely. Eggs were poached beautifully, generous serving of salmon and I loved the addition of avocado as well as spinach. The thing that made the dish was a sprinkling of capers amongst the hollandaise. Such a nice surprise! Coffee was good, quite strong and smooth. Cute interiors too, shame the gift shop attached was closed for the day!
The Ponder Room
I donā€™t get up to Joondalup very often but will definitely be going back now Iā€™ve experienced this little gem, The Buttery CafĆ© and Homewares.Ā A quick lunchtime business meeting was soon side-tracked into breakfast when I saw the menu. Poached eggs and mushrooms were the go. My companion ordered a side of hash browns and though Iā€™m not a great fan of the usually greasy triangularĀ potato offering, today I was feeling it.
Marina Antich
Beautiful cafe
Enjoy coming here for a cappacino and cake
The place is always buzzing and has that nice coffee shop feel
They do awesome breakfast
Kermit
Customers service is so important when your in this industry, it determines whether the customers comes back or not. The reception here was like the latte I order Luke warm. Food was very basic, in presentation and flavor. I was so looking forward to coming here after my friend raved about their in house baked cake.. Don't think I'll be coming back to try the cakes.

Delicious food and awesome coffee, one of the best in perth actually. YES I just went there haha! ! Very friendly staff! Menu is varied and always sooo yumm!!

Highly recommend.
Jason Taylor
We have been here three times now and every visit has been a great experience. The menu is not your typical average menu which is a nice change, the food and coffee has always been amazing and we leave satisfied every time.

Joondalup is a bit of an undiscovered foodie suburb for me so Ms. D and I decided to explore before a mini shopping spree at Lakeside Shopping Centre. Luckily, we had a friend of Ms. Dā€™s with us who knew the area and suggested The Buttery.Ā . When we arrived the cafe was busy and as it was a windy morning, our quest began to find a table indoors. As we arrived we were asked how many of us there were and were guided to a table immediately. I picked up three menus and passed the display fridge beside the busy counter.

Not to bad of a coffe place. Does have a small homewares section attached to the shop, for a little look. The coffee here was quite nice and smooth. Food here looked quite nice and muffins werent too bad either!! Staff were courteous and friendly.
Littlemisspiggyeats
Opposite the Joondalup Health Campus (aka Hospital) this cafe was alive and well :-) with large takeaway coffee orders - you know where you have two people collecting orders for everyone. My order of a small takeaway coffee took about 20 minutes which I believe is a bit excessive. The small cup was what I classify as a regular (so points given there) the coffee beans are Silvana which are from a Northbridge roaster, whilst not double tapped burnt shitty taste it was weak and not a balanced nice tasting blend.
Williespants
A quiet cafe located in a commercial centre nearby the Joondalup shopping centre. It has quite a local feel with a small shop inside selling home wares. Having loved the Spanish omelette I had a week ago elsewhere, this cafe was offering their version on special so I took up the chance. Quite a disappointment actually. It smelled good, but it was literally like an egg taco - where the egg mixture was pan fried, spinach olives and chorizo thrown in the middle and egg folded in half. Nothing was combined or held together, too little cheese and chorizo pieces was a little too large. Coffee was ok though.

A hidden little gem in Joondalup, approx 4 mins drive from Lakeside. No free parking seemed to be nearby, but the food is definitely worth paying for parking. I ordered the Zucchini Bruschetta (it was delicious), and looking around it seemed all of the meals were of a generous portion. Service was prompt and friendly. Would come back again if in the area šŸ˜Š

Had the best breakfast this morning. Very well presented and tasted great! Would definitely recommend and I will be coming back very soon!
Kate2406
Loveeeeee this place. Hashbrowns are to die for, as are the benedict breakfast and the coffee. The cheesecakes they have sometimes are so so good, a real gem of a place
Blondeambitionsx
Coffe was too strong and had a burnt after taste... The atmosphere attracts a lot of oldies, with out dated scenery. The decor of the cafe looked dull and lifeless...
Jessica S
Delicious food, delicious coffee, and great service! Thanks The Buttery, you got our tick of approval we will be back for sure!!! Highly recommended
Jemma
This is a hidden gem in Joondalup. My mum has been talking this place up for weeks as its her local for work. It didn't disappoint. I got the bean mix which came on a tortilla served with Avo spinach and sour cream- I added a potato hash- yum! They serve a good cup of coffee too! This is a cute little local which I will be heading back to.

Our absolute favourite! It's a sin to not be going to this place every Saturday for breakfast..love the food, service, ambience and portions... They can never go wrong with the coffee! Absolutely love this place!
Julie McGinnigle
It's pretty hard to get a good coffee near a shopping mall, but here is an exception. The coffee is delish, the owner's are passionate and friendly and it seems every time we go,Ā there is a kitchen full ofĀ females dedicated to their craft - which I always find inspiring. The cafĆ© has more of a restaurant-feel which sometimes feels somewhat stifling rather than relaxing. And we really miss the lack of newspapers, which we like to sit back and relax with over coffee - so for this reason alone, sometimes we give it a miss. Haven't tried any food, I can't comment on this, but there is generally a handful of people eating whenever we attend - which is a good sign.
AHJW
Hands down the best breakfast in Perth! I have tried a fair share of breakfasts on offer in the Northern Perth area and find myself constantly going back to the Buttery after a bad meal elsewhere. Their scrambled eggs and hash browns are like no other!Ā

I also love that it's a family run business.
Food4Thought
Had a Beautiful breakky there couple of weeks ago. love their home made butter, good coffee too . Voodoo toons for vegetarians as well . Definitely going back there.
Quintinocarroll
Amazing! best breakys. I have been to this little slice of heaven a lot and have never been disappointed the service staff are exceptional and and the scrambled eggs are literally the best ive had in perth. I have recommended friends and family to the cafe and everyone of them has enjoyed there dining experience. I have recently moved to butler but I still make the drive for this sensational food and service. Highly recommend the buttery, well done Christchurch you have brought a piece of home over to the sandtrap WA 400 billion likes for you guys

Cheers
Taranaki
CrazyMoFo
Good breaky & coffee. Nice breakfast place
Kalmil_61
Disgusting service. The mark of a good business is the quality of its goods, but most importantly the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. I have eaten at the Buttery cafe many times and have not been disappointed. I have shopped at the Buttery gift shop a few times. My most recent experience was extremely disappointing to say the least The attitude and abruptness of the manager was unbelievable. I called by phone to ask if I could return an unused item purchased for a child, only later to discover it was a girl instead of baby boy. The manager barely let me finish what I had to say before she burst straight out into " No you cannot exchange" and hung up the phone with no goodbye or anything. I stood holding the phone buzzing in my ear in complete disbelief. She offered no alternative solution, no feeling and most certainly no integrity.
What sort of behaviour is this for a small business. The Buttery will never have the honour of my business again or that of my family and friends.

Buttery. Great food, vegie friendly and fab staff. Keep the good work up :)

Best coffee in Joondalup and more. Well worth sniffing out for the best brew in the Joondalup area and a refreshing change from the chains in Lakeside. Comfortable inside and out, fast and friendly service and a satisfying menu. Joondalup locals deserve a cafe like this.
Lex Robertson
Best coffee NOR. Great coffee, friendly staff very clean : )

Impressive but expensive. I can't go past the Bordeaux Club Sandwich at this place. Always deliciously prepared and mouth-watering. But I have to admit that they are a bit of a lunchtime treat for special occasions only, as one of these sandwiches is close to the $20 mark.

Obviously many people have no issue spending $20 a day on a sandwich for lunch as they are always quite busy and business appears to be booming. Good luck to them!
Mccarneypt
Pleasant, not perfect.. Came in for breakfast on a Saturday. Was pleased to see a few more novel options on the menu than the generic bacon and eggs; I had the Breakfast Burrito and my partner had the BLAT Bagel. Our daughter had the Fruit Toast /w butter and jam.

The foods were all very nice and portion size was adequate to be satisfying.
Coffee was probably the lacking element; I had a Long Black, which came with plenty of crema on top, but it was harsh and 1 dimensional from overwhelming bitterness. (This may be personal taste; I rarely enjoy a Vittoria coffee.)

Overall, worth the money.
Jessica
THE best!. Came here with the boyfriend and have been several times since. Excellent little place with character and the friendliest staff I've ever experienced. Well worth the price. Traditional hash browns were a fav. And the coffee was amazing. Love this place!
Jennifer Williamson-Habibi
Delicious, fresh, wonderful service. Everything, hash browns, cakes, sauces made on site with local fresh delicious ingredients.. This is a concept cafe that has been missing from the Joondalup area!! Food was top quality. I read a review complaining about portion sizes but I had the same dishes and they were very generous and of a quality that you'll never find at one of the chain cafƩs.. The owners are a chef and family and they know good food! The homewares section shows similar good taste! Please support this great business initiative in Joondalup- thanks for opening The Buttery!!!

We went there for my mother in laws birthday at breakfast time. The coffee was okay. The "mug" was a normal size cup and the normal was something you get in a kids tea set. I ordered the bushmans breakfast, thought it would be bigger for $18.50 but it was not. Also on the menu it states that toast comes with all savory meals but yet we had to ask for it and also almost $3 for a side of hollandaise sauce. I don't think we will be back. We have recently given dome a miss as well, which we have been going to monthly for over a year. Coffee club is a clear winner so far.
Chicagosox
Well over priced!!. We came here to try this place for breakfast last weekend and was extremely disappointed. The location is in an excellent spot with plenty of exposure and sunlight and is a nice place to relax. However, for the price you pay and thr portions you receive i am very disappointed. we ordered a bagel with cream cheese and it costed nearly $15. there wasnt much to it besides a bagel, cream cheese and a few things on the side.my wife ordered a big breakfast and didnt even get served toast as mentioned.

Finally a decent cafe in Joondalup! Arrived early and you were so accommodating to get my family and I in out of the cold. Great service, great breakfast ... Only problem is that the food was so good we are going to have to come back! Great work guys!

Love love love my breakfast there today :-) and so did my other two friend I had the French toast yummy ! Staff were lovely , we could eat outside with the dog ... Great morning

Without doubt, one of the nicer Brekky places around Joondalup. Located in the new Shenton Avenue medical complex, the Buttery is a delightful quality find. And if you're working or visiting the nearby Joondalup Health Campus/Private Hospital I highly recommend you walk across the road for your food and coffee fix.

Breakfast. Oh, it's good. Thick slices of french toast with a drizzle of maple syrup along with banana and bacon? Pancakes? Tick that box. Real potato hash, not that deep fried frozen stuff. Love the vegetable stack with the sliced avocado and the Rosemary and olive oil drizzled fetta mixed in amongst perfectly poached eggs. And you can ask for those eggs anyway you please. Then there's the breakfast crepe, with it's basil and olive oil pesto infusing the ham, mushroom bites as you savour each one.

Sure, there's no beachfront or Marina view. The coffee isn't quite up to that found in the trendiest coffee snob haunt in the CBD. But it's drinkable. There is a good range of smoothies, juices and iced tea(s) out of a bottle. The shakes are okay. Prices for food a little high side but probably fair for the quality.

Yes I like this place. And if I'm having Brekky in Joondalup it's where I would go.

Coffee however... is slow off the rank with only one barista (be ready for a 10 minute wait). They really need to fix this. People DO go elsewhere on a work day if you have to consistently wait half your tea break for your coffee.
Studddownunder
OMGosh!!. Fantastic as usual, loved the food, coffee and the staff....I was so desperate to get into the buttery for breakfast that I left the car unlocked and the engine running for an hour whilst we had breakfast. Luckily the good people of joondalup did not drive off with my car.
Believeinyourself
Came upon this warm friendly small cafe next to the hospital and what a wonderful find. The food is freshly cooked and tasted delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful. They serve breakfasts til late and have a wide range of yummy items. The hash browns are worth a mention, freshly grated potato and grilled!

The buttery cafe now has a Instagram account it is : the_buttery_cafe

It's actually not cream. It's whipped butter. Awkward.
Lee Nicholas
This place has everything a menu that is different & so tasty! Coffee us amazing; friendly service; breakfast items anytime and a gift shop!
I just love it and have been 4 times now

Impressed. Had a great breakfast this morning, could not fault anything, great service, prices and food. Will definitely be back.
Coeliac Awareness Geek
Fantastic place for breakfast. Great food, good service. Gluten free options not advertised clearly but if you ask when ordering they are prepared to make every effort including separate food preparation areas. Complimentary breakfast toast is available in gluten free also so you don't miss out on the awesome jam and whipped butter.
Really hope this place sticks around for a long time, it's a great addition to Joondalup.
Melnoel
Our prayers answered!. The Buttery is directly opposite Joondalup Hospital and Perth Radiology. It comes as a breath of fresh air for people who need some r and r from the dreadful cafe in the hospital. The coffee is to die for. Everything on the menu looks delicious and tastes even better. The service is efficient and friendly. Congratulations to the family who have started this venture, you deserve to do so well. How lucky are we who live close by! Only problem...how shall we keep the best kept secret to ourselves?
Jarvo
Just had breakfast here. Excellent all round. Food, service and coffee couldn't be faulted. Definitely coming back.

Had the ceaser salad fab homemade dressing .pumkin wrap was also enjoyed. Little gem in joondalup
Ashlea_coleman
Lovely little place. This place is around the corner from my work and it is just so lovely to have a new place like this around. Nice food, good service, decent coffee & cupcakes/muffins etc are absolutely delicious. I've had breakfast and lunch here & would recommend it over anything else in the area.
Liz
Wonderful place to eat. Extensive menu and excellent customer service. Can't rate this place highly enough. Food was freshly prepared and tasted so good. Can't wait to be back.

Amazing NOR cafe. My first time coming to Buttery cafe. Spot on location. I had the veggie stack for breakfast. Amazing. Really good homemade food for money. Homemade hash browns really had me sold! A fantastic range of breakfast/lunch options as well as drinks. YUM! This is the new favourite spot NOR. Will be recommending to all my friends. Great customer service and atmosphere, the staff are great. Well done!
Tasha
I discovered this little cafe thanks to Urbanspoon! The cafe looks quite small from the street but there is ample seating in an out, it gets to be quite busy at lunch time. With their extensive lunch menu available until 2pm there's lots to choose from for lunch. Meals arereasonably priced and a good serving size. Food is delishiously fresh and full of flavour. Have never had room for coffee afterwards so can't comment on the coffee. Service has always been efficient and very friendly. Gift shop is great too! Our new work lunch local! Pity its so far away from home as it would be a nice weekend breakfast spot.

Fantastic fresh breakfast. We have just come back from having breakfast at The Buttery CafƩ in Joondalup. Really good food and service, will definitely be going back. Banana and caramel muffin was to die for!

Fab. Hubby and I love to do breakfast and were delighted by The Buttery. Yes it was a little slow in coming but it was such a nice morning we were not too bothered. I thought it was reasonably priced for such a delish brekkie and coffee. Plan to return
Coffee Lover
I loved this place! I've been to a lot of cafes in Joondalup and they've been disappointing but I was very happy with this place.
The customer service was great, very friendly and helpful. The foods was very nice. I had a Caesar wrap and wasn't expecting much to be honest. I was very pleasantly surprised and discovered they make EVERYTHING on site, which is a nice change, and much tastier.

The biggest thing for me was the coffee. I'm not a huge fan of Vittoria beans but they made a very decent long black - which is hard to find!

The homewares store is a bit of a twist but they had some nice interior design books in there.
I will definitely be going back.
Kate
Ahh I have been waiting for somewhere between Sorrento (Voyage) & Mindarie (Waterfront) to open & do a great breakfast/coffee & now I've found it! Nice short walk from my house, AMAZING food, home made potato-rosti style hash-browns, mexi- bean breaky, little basket of toast & jam (free of charge), just different little things that make it stand out. Finally, nice little cafes are starting to open up around this end of town & we don't have to drive to Leederville/Scarborough/Northbridge 4 a great b'fast! Also I hear they will be opening on the wkends soon :-)
I_hate_bembo
Not so pleased. First of all. great location.... but thats all.
Menu is very over priced and it takes for ever for your meals to arrive! Waited 15 mins just for a takeaway toasted sandwhich and whats with only having a breakfast menu?? stupid. Staff are friendly although guy on the till needs to be a little quicker and not start a convosation with every customer. Love the little shop but noones in there to run it til like 1030am!! Nice place but wouldnt rave about it
KP
Hmmmm. FANTASTIC to have a.... Hmmmm.
FANTASTIC to have an alternative to the utterly lackluster Pause Cafe at the hospital. However, The Buttery still personifies mediocre in the scheme of Perth cafes.
Quality of your coffee varies according to the Barista. Food is seriously overpriced, but reasonably good. Service is ok, but staff seem to still be learning. Homewares shop a random addition.
Does not compare to it's counterparts located closer to the city (Doubleview, Scarborough, Floreat, Leederville, Subiaco, Claremont, Mt Lawley)...but hopefully it will up the game as they settle in???
Paddy
Food is quite good, and the chef is very friendly and accommodating. The till staff could use some customer skills and gain some insight into common courtesy and 'user friendliness'. Kitchen closing time could be conveniently advertised.
Tanya Godwich
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. A friend and I met for coffee today. We ended up being tempted by the menu and had breakfast. She had a BLAT (bagel) which was huge, filling and delicious. I had the vegetarian option and asked for no eggs. I just don't do eggs! I had a plate of mushrooms, wilted spinach, tomato, feta cheese drizzled in lemon Evoo. Scrumptious. Tea and coffee were beautiful and food and drinks came out quite quickly.
Perhaps the only constructive criticism I can make is that there are no high chairs. But apparently it's on the 'To buy' list.
We were so impressed. Thank you to the staff for a lovely morning.
Luke.
Was great coffee. We got the veg breakfast and it was delicious. Came with complimentary toast and jam. Finally a non stingy cafe in Joondalup that delivers good service, quality and value
Inxs.rushton66
Fab food/service. My husband & I found this place delightful...Meals were superb. Really fresh & tasty. I was really surprised to taste the homemade hashbrown..really light & fresh potato taste! We would definately go back there again! Please have a nice apple pie on your menu for next time...maybe increase your dessert range for cake & coffee. This is one of our favourites!
Princess_ami89
Just what Joondalup needs!. Finally there is a place that has high quality food in Joondalup! Other than one or two other cafes in the area Joondalup has nothing like this! The Buttery has high quality food and is affordable. There is a lovely waiter who works there who is always very helpful and friendly. I've eaten there twice. The first time I had breakfast which was delicious! I am not a hash brown fan but these are amazing! I have also tried the ceasar warp which is lovely and fresh (and affordable) Their carrot cake and apple cinemon cake was to die for! The only downside is they are not open on weekends which is a pity
Kate
We had a large table (16+) and had a fabulous time at the buttery! The food and service was flawless! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu! Yum!

Beautiful coffee made by a beautiful barista :) Well priced and tastes great

The Buttery Cafe and Homewares in Joondalup is a quaint cafe renowned for it's good wholesome breakfasts, lunches and cakes as well as some beautiful unique homewares. Ā Seating options include a large alfresco area with umbrella shades as well as plenty of indoor options overlooking the leafy Shenton Avenue stretch in Joondalup. Ā Ā Inside the cafe is an array of trinkets and giftwares to browse around including a few kids Jelly Cat toys which are a firm favourite in our household. Ā Choose from a variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch usuals including Bushman's breakfast, Salmon Benedict, Vegetarian Vegetable Stack, Bagels, Bruchetta and Burrito's. There's also a daily specials board. Every cafe has yummy desserts on offer but this one stood out for me as I asked for a recommendation for Mr 6 and was told the "Lolly Cake" had been made with lots of different types and flavours of lolly's inside. Ā Ā Ā Mr 6 took the recommendation and ordered an organic blackcurrant water juice to go with. Ā The juice was divine!! The famous Lolly cake! Ā I told the lady at the cafe (assumed it was the owner) that my daughter was called Lollie and we were on our way to pick her up from Kindy but spending some one on one time with my son. Ā So sweet of her she came out with a piece of the Lolly cake in a takeaway bag for me to give to my daughter :-)Ā Ā Ā It's the special little touches like this that make local cafe's unique and keep you coming back for more. The Buttery is fresh and modern, just near to Joondalup hospital. Inside there are exposed bricks and pretty floral upholstery, the mod fit out gives The Buttery a feel of a cafĆ© near Perthā€™s Inner suburbs. I loved it.
The Breakfast Confidential
Hallelujah! Finally there is somewhere north of Sorrento worth having breakfast at! The Buttery Cafe in Joondalup is a God send! This cafĆ©Ā has filled a gapĀ in the northern suburbsĀ that wasĀ bigger than the disappointment the English cricket teamĀ areĀ feeling. If any of you follow my ramblings on Twitter, you will know how I feel about the wasteland of decent places to eat in the northern suburbs. Having lived Ā in "south Geraldton" for a year, I found it frustrating trying to find somewhere that served coffee that wasn't as hot as the face of the sun and breakfast that wasn't more suited to a roadhouse (no offence to the great roadhouses out there). This full of heart cafe is owned by Aynsley Anderson and her daughter Lisa, who is the chef, and her son Jason. I met them by chance a few months ago when I stopped in for breakfast and to buy a gift from their attached vintage style homewares store. I wasn't there to review that day but I got talking to Aynsley as I was paying for my gift and
