Review Tao Cafe - Joondalup

Fast table service. Instant food choice from the sushi train. Always super fresh and full of flavour. Tao is often a go to when looking for healthy food, restaurant dining. Highly recommend.

This particular Tao is AWESOME. The sushi train meals have these frozen tiny packets to keep the sushi cold and I like that a lot. I also tried my first Japanese drink, sake, here, thanks to helpful staff' guidance. It was very smooth. Staff are lovely here. Meals are consistently tasty. Very clean and inviting. I come here regularly. :)

My experience at Tao Joondalup began with being rudely asked if we had booked before even a simple “hello” or greeting. My partner and I were sat at a bench sitting next to each other, so I asked for us to have a proper table. The food was great and what I usually expect from Tao however towards then end of our meal it took about 15 minutes to get someone’s attention for us to get a takeaway container and they certainly weren’t busy or short staffed. When we went to pay another server quickly ran to our table and told the cashier we had a sushi plate we needed to pay for even after I already told the cashier about this. So to sum up my experience the food was great service was appalling.

Great variety on offer. Very good standard food. Reasonable price. Service can be a little slow and sketchy when busy but not a problem.

Serving size of noodles was tiny, paid $23 and it didn’t even fill the container, the flavour of the noodles was ok but not that nice. We previously had been to Innaloo Tao and that was amazing flavours was great and portion size was good too, I expected similar but this was much smaller and not as nice. Sushi was good at both.

The service was great, my friend had booked a table online for us but for some reason the booking had gotten lost. However, the staff was extremely accommodating and quickly fixed the issue. They also made sure to keep updated on what we need.

Delicious Asian food, bought a few things off of the sushi train. I had the Japanese curry with katsu chicken, all delicious. Highly recommended!

PS. Door is not locked, it’s jammed. Pull harder. Place looks nice but disappointed that there’s no sashimi’s on the train. Unless that’s how they run it and I just had to order separately for the sashimi on the menu. Also might came on the wrong time. Staff’s are not accommodating enough.

Tao sits on the corner of Boas Avenue and Grand Boulevard in Joondalup and was quite busy on the Sunday afternoon that we visited. The restaurant is dominated by a sushi train, and food offered on the menu is. predominantly Japanese with Thai and Vietnamese options. I always wonder why restaurants offer a variety of cuisines rather than sticking to one and making it really good, however, I had heard good things about Tao and wanted to give it a try. I ordered fresh coconut to drink, which arrived in the coconut shell, so it was lovely and fresh.

Went a few times when it first opened and food was good. After a recent visit found the food not so good. Odered the same food too so not related to a menu choice.

Disappointing. Teriyaki beef was quite fatty, all and I mean all of the ‘hot dishes’ on the sushi train were also cold.<br/><br/>Pork belly was luke warm as were all the other dishes we ordered al a carte.<br/><br/>Won’t be back.

Good choice of food you can order off the menu or get sushi train or do both. Service is good and it is reasonably priced. They also have a fair few desserts to choose from

The sushi train lacks variety, however I’m sure they’d be happy to make you what you like. Staff have ok customer service. Ordered bento box, chicken katsu (wrong spelling), I really enjoyed it. Couldn’t eat it all. I like how they serve alcohol also!
