When Papparich arrived in Australia, I was quite pleased to see somewhere serving Malaysian delights, and a good place to get a Nasi Lemak fix. In recent times I have also found some limited vegetarian options, and the vegetarian ‘mutton’ nasi lemak is definitely a good substitute. If you are vegan you have to ask them to omit the egg.
I dined here a few years ago and wasn't impressed at all. Saw that it was in the entertainment book and thought I'd give it a second go. Really glad I did as the food was much better this time round. Roti was cooked well as was the beef curry. Fried chicken was also great. Our only let down was the chicken dumplings which came out freezing cold. Staff were able to give us a new plate within 10 minutes though. Really quick service as well if you're in a hurry.
Service is good. I tried curry fish fillet. It is nice and fish fillet is very fresh. Serving is very big too. Tou Fu Far is nice with Gula Melaka.
It's no secret that I'm a fan of PappaRich. Obviously not the PappaRich restaurants in Malaysia itself, where the authentic food is so readily available on the streets for cheaper, but internationally. I think PappaRich is doing a great job introducing reliably tasty Malaysian dishes to many people outside of Malaysia. I've so far been to PappaRich restaurants in three different countries, and they were all sufficiently good representations of Malaysian cuisine. Of course, nothing compares to the real authentic experience of eating Malaysian food on the streets of Malaysia itself, but beggars can't be choosers! When we were in Perth a couple of months ago, we had the opportunity to try out PappaRich in Joondalup twice. It's located close by to my parents' and siblings' homes in the same suburb, which made it an easy and convenient choice of meeting point. The food was, as expected, delicious. Service was friendly and helpful, especially given that our family is really big with lots of kids and my elderly parents.
I like Malaysian food and it's a nice place to eat when you crave Laksa or Nasi Lemak. Lots of variety on the menu, food is usually very tasty. Service is fast. Prices are reasonable. What should be the star of the show, the satay , are actually average and they should be better, larger, tastier, more of the grilled and flame flavour. I will keep eating here though.
Not too bad at all if you want a relatively cheap feed (under $15 pp) in Joondalup
I have menu choice number N17 and it hasn't disappointed me so far.
Fast and friendly enough service. Their system with the buzzer and menu ordering is great. The food is yummy but the portion sizes are on the small size. They also have a great selection of drinks and vegetarian options. This is a better option than the food court in Lakeside as well as the Hogs Breath nearby.
You know exactly what you're going to get with Papa Rich. It's one of those places that I go to one I don't know where else to go. For a chain of restaurants it serves a variety of nice dishes. I particularly like the grill chicken.
Been to papparich for so many times!!! Actually went here almost everyday.
My fav restaurant in Perth, actually the best Malaysian/Indonesian/Asian restaurant in Perth. I've been tried some of Malaysian and Indonesian restaurant that served nasi goreng, but this is the only restaurant that can make your nasi goreng really spicy the same as you eat in jakarta or kl. I recommend you to order nasi goreng R03 and ask them to make it spicy, it will definitely spicy so be careful!
Beautiful restaurant. Good service.
Taste was delicious but order was late for 15 mins. They've lots of choices in food.
I liked the unique style of the Order taking. They are the best. ❤️🍴
Cheers guys 🍻
Lunchtime visit. Clean premises and good service. No chicken dishes available on the menu, apparently a supply problem - that is a fail for an Asian restaurant. Dishes ok except rice noodles rather hard. Prices a little on the high side.
Easily one of my favourite restaurants around. I had never tried real Malaysian cuisine and what a great place to have my first experience. I have tried a few things on the menu and each thing has been absolutely delicious. Staff are kind and friendly and the ordering system is great as there is no pressure on hurrying with your order. Meals are well priced and so tasty. Would absolutely recommend!
I'm from Singapore and I've tasted Papparich in Malaysia & Singapore. The food here is legit... And dare I say even better than Singapore. (Maybe the chef here is better).
Portions are big, service is fast & good and the food is really delicious. I came back 3 times within a week. That proves how much I love the food here (and also miss food from home).
Some of the items are very overpriced though.. Avoid the satay and toast bread. The main dishes are the highlight here. Bandung tasted more like milk (do not order), but the ice milo was really nice. I like the beancurd too! Though for the same price I could have eaten 6 bowls back home. Haha!
Restaurant was a nice set up...service was ok...some food came out quick and others not so quick...my main meal was nice...flat bread not enough so had to order another one for $5.50 which I think is way to expensive...the portions for curries are too small...the seafood laksa was nice and generous...overall price abut on the high end...food taste good...came up to $60 for 2 of us including a fizzy drink and water
I have visited this restaurant multiple times. Roti Canai with curry chicken is delicious Roti is buttery and has multiple layers. Curry chicken is full of spices. I have also eaten Roti Telur Bawang ( Roti with eggs and onion stuffings) but I prefer Roti Canai. Nasi Lemak reminds you of Malaysia while chicken satay is also delicious. I also like laksa - chicken as well as sea food one - they are served in big size and soup is spicy. Dumplings are not of my taste though . For dessert, Roti Bom is good : buttery and sweet. But condense milk makes it too sweet for me. And finally Teh Tarik is a must try.
Great lunch option that serves really quickly and generous portion. Been here a few times. Laksa was delicious. Nasi lemak with fried chicken is my fave. Roti canai and roti telur are very good. Steamed chicken is lacking flavour. Coconut paradise and cham (coffee+tea) are delicious too
Fantastic experience today for lunch. No que to get in and prompt, friendly service. Food and drinks were certainly tastier and more flavoursome than the Northbridge and Carousel counterparts. Will be back!
Ordered the tandoori chicken and roti, the roti was delicious and sweet, tandoori chicken tasted very authentic and condiments were flavorful. Partner ordered the spicy soup dish with extra chilli, no complaints and we had a side of prawn dumplings which were very nice. Service was great and ordering was a breeze great experience will return
Love the food. Their roti is the best, thick and bit crispy but soft on the inside. Good service too.
Tried the chicken satay as well, no complains.
Paparich take 2!
My wife loves the drinks they serve here, so if we went but I had my doubts, due to my Northbridge experience.
I ordered similar items that i did at there Northbridge outlet:
Briyani rice, fried chicken and sabal eggplant and prawn: alot different to the one in Northbridge as the fried chicken was so moist and tender with crispy skin. Sabal eggplant n prawn was tasty.
Roti: I thought this was crispy and yum but a bit sweet.
Pappa pan mee: the noodles was like pasta (cooked nicely), mince chicken, anchovies, sabal and a poached egg served with a broth. This wad something different and tasty which i enjoyed. Serving i think was small for this meal.
Satay sticks: chicken n beef. Both was nice. Little bit of a char but i think it is double cooked as both were abit dry (especially the beef).
Cendol: this is simple with various ingredients but great way to finish the meal.
Service was ok. Some servers forgot a few things which we had to remind them.
If i go back to Papparich, it'll be the Joondalup store.
i much prefer this papparich in comparison to the northbridge one! not only is it closer and even easier to get to for me with it being right in joondalup shops i find the overall experience much better. i've been here over 5 times since it's opened. the food is the same in quality even better sometimes but i will say it comes out even quicker. the area is more spacious and clean and the staff are professional and friendly. always great portions for the price and it's a nice alternative to other places in joondalup.
as always there is always hits and misses with the food at any papparich. i don't really like the beef satay sticks bit of a rip off or most of the noodle soups. i do recommend any of the roti canai, dry kway teow with steamed chicken which is my personal favorite, chicken skin and the tropical lime for drinks.
keep up the good work papparich joondalup! fantastic staff, service and food.

I was so happy that we could easily get a table as I was expecting to wait based on my previous experiences of going to the Northbridge location. We got the fried noodle, beef randang with sambal eggplants and rice, and barley drink. The food was nice but nothing amazing. It is also a little more expensive than your average Malaysian place (average price between $14-$18 per main dish). Service was efficient and the place was really clean which is also a bonus!
Went to Papparich for the first time last week.I've never really eaten Malaysian cuisine before so I was intrigued. We were greeted at the door almost instantly, then we sat there for some time after we had decided what we wanted to eat because we had no idea how the ordering system worked. After we'd had a good chat and I was getting hungry I worked out that you had to order it yourself and then buzz for the waitress/waiter to come and get it. I thought this was a pretty cool idea but I think it would of been better if the person who sat us had let is know how it worked. Anyway the noodle dish I got was absolutely beautiful but the dumplings weren't very nice. The lychee soda was to die for. The food is a reasonable price and the serving sizes were plentiful. Overall it was a positive experience and I'll be back.
Last weekend, I was lucky enough to be invited to an exclusive tasting at the relatively new PappaRich in Joondalup. Leading up to the event, I visited this location three times on my own accord for lunch during my working week, as my day-job is currently based in Joondalup. I’ve tried the Canberra and Northbridge PappaRich stores previously and have to say, I find the Joondalup outlet to be the best I’ve visited – the staff are friendly and the food is really, really good.
Had apprehensions about coming here but it is better than its Northbridge counterpart in leaps and bounds.
The nasi goreng with fried chicken is off the chaaaainnnn. Would-eat-again/10. Chicken was moist, skin was crispy and the veggie fried rice had heaps of flavour. Topped off with a fried egg and chilli sauce, so much yum in my mouth.
The roti canai with curry dip was soo sooo good. Crunchy, flakey and light. Honestly up there with some of the best I've had overseas. The roti telur with egg was decent.
Satays beef and chicken skewers were average and I wouldn't order again. Still working through their extensive list of drinks. Service was friendly and food started coming out within 5 mins of ordering
We've been here a couple time since it opened and service had been consistently good. Prices are reasonable as the food servings are slightly bigger than average. A good alternative to other food outlets in the Joondalup shopping precinct
The pappa rich in joondalup is so much better than the one in Northbridge... The speed of service, quality of meal, ambience is beautiful... It's reasonably priced and staff are courteous... Would definitely recommend this to all!
Perthians north of the river jump for joy! The third PappaRich has recently opened inside Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre! No more long distance driving if you are craving for some hawker style food! One fine Saturday I ended up there, thrilled to be invited for lunch to celebrate its opening, I love the food at PappaRich!
The Joondalup’s franchise has a close proximity between customers’ table to the roti station so I snooped around the open kitchen to look at how one of the staff created the delicious multi-layered roti.
With PappaRich, you pay more than what you would at a typical hawkers but the portion sizes makes up for it. Some people might have complained about how the price at PappaRich Malaysia was so much cheaper than the Australian franchise but they also need to remember that PappaRich Australia use local produce which made each dish really fresh and tasty.
I haven’t found any dish that I disliked except their Nasi Briyani but my taste buds were ruined by my school teacher in high school who created the best Nasi Briyani ever. So far none has topped up what he did.
The service that day was friendly, attentive and quite fast and most of us got our meals at the same time. Whether you call the meals in PappaRich authentic Malaysian dishes or think of them as an imposter, PappaRich has always delivered consistency to their meals and the food speaks for itself.
Pappas Rich is a great restaurant for Malaysian food. It's casual dining bit the food is full of great flavours and consistent so you can always rely on getting what you ordered. The Curry Laksa is exceptional, to my taste at least but there are lots of great dishes available. Lots of parking at Lakeside Joondalup. One of my favourite places for a quick inexpensive meal.
Went for late dinner . Place was nearly closing. Ordered satay sticks which was bit dry. The roti with chicken curry was tasty and so was beef randang. Not so great on service . But good food.
Quick service and yummy food. The staff was very friendly. We ordered the chicken skin dish but didn't like it as it felt old. The lady who took our order explained it's because of the pre-marination and refunded us back! Had a great lunch!
The beef randang was amazing. Although some of their menu items were out, they were very kind and professional when addressing me and the people I was with. All of the people I was with including myself very much enjoyed the meals we had chosen.
