Had the vegan sandwich and was honestly so impressed. I would go back just for the sandwich. Only thing is I wish they had more vegan options but at least they had some.
Whenever I get the chance to head up the hills for lunch, this is my go-to. The food is great and the staff are always so friendly. Love this place!
Dined here for lunch yesterday - in the area and decided to stop here for a bite. This was the third place we attempted to have lunch as the previous two stops had a 30 minute wait, so it was good that we got a table immediately. I had the homemade frittata – salmon & feta with salad & hubby had the thai chicken salad. We both enjoyed our meals.
On the whole, a very lively place to stop for a deli meal. Lovely staff even when the place was too busy and difficult to handle with people queuing to order and tables waiting for their food. Unfortunately my order for a latte was forgotten and I only reminded them after I had my meal. They were very apologetic and refunded my money but still served the latte for me anyway!
Friendly service, cozy cafe with good food , good price with no doubt! Love my turmeric latte. We had salmon frittata, ham & cheese croissant. Lovely place !great getaway up the mountain.

It was a nice day to be out and about,  so I decided to stop at Kallista for an early lunch, and tried this cafe. It is set in an old shop premises, so has a quaint character to it. There is a bench and stools behind an old sash window, and the timber tables are plain but solid, some with cast iron bases, and others looking  like old kitchen tables with  the paint stripped off. Some re-purposed factory lights are suspended from the ceiling, and the walls are decorated with wall units housing antiques such as old canisters,  and a hand egg beater. There is a small open area out front for dining, and some tables under an old metal awning. Some low volume rock played in the background. I found the staff very bright, cheerful and welcoming. I really wanted to order from the lunch menu, but it was a touch too early for the kitchen, so I elected to have the house-made crumpets from their breakfast menu (which had several vegetarian options). The crumpets were very attractively presented, and came with berries, mascarpone, and pistachio nuts, all swimming in honey and a fruity nectar. It was very nice, and probably a bit naughty. The coffee, too, was quite good.  Apart from having to order from the counter, a probably well established bugbear of mine,  it was a pleasant experience.
Never has Kallista deli failed to deliver. Consistently good, lovely staff and I always leave contented. Great coffee, friendly local staff. Breakfast - especially the smashed avo - delicious.
Great little cafe with excellent coffee. Service was great and menu looked very good. Will be back!.

Kallista Deli always does a great breakfast. Free range eggs and smoked bacon from Bill's of Belgrave. Great after a walk through Sherbrooke Forest.
The Kallista Deli is somewhere you feel so content that you are reluctant to leave. Perhaps it is observing the antics of the visiting crow hunting for goodies amongst the tables out the front that puts you in a hypnotic state. However, I think that the tasty and comforting food and the peaceful atmosphere also contribute to this. My favourite dish is the Eggs on Salmon ($14). Two poached eggs served on a large slice of toast with lots of smoked salmon, quarter of an avocado, spinach, and plenty of hollandaise sauce. As this dish is quite filling, I usually opt for the Calmer Sutra Chai tea ($3.50) which is one of the best chai blends
Lovely place, great food & service :-). Been coming here regularly over the last several months as I live locally and am never disappointed. Went on Sunday morning and again the food, coffee and service was excellent. Staff were lovely and very accomodating to us and especially our little girl who has Autism. Definitely recommend this place.

FANTASTIC CAFE. Discovered this great little cafe by accident a couple of years ago and have been a regular ever since ,the food is very fresh and the salads are just brilliant.Is a little dissapointing that the once very generous serves have gotten much smaller but still love it anyway.Their mountain burger is just beautiful with fresh salad on the side,love their coffee to.Looking forward to my next trip there.
I had very nice breakfast. My favorite is scrambled egg which is very soft and airy. Unfortunately my cafe latte was terrible. Latte is very important to make good balance of stemed milk and espresso. It was just add hot milk to coffee and bit of form on top. I should ask him to make another one.
Their toasted sandwiches are great, and the fresh squeezed juice is amazing. It can be busy and cramped at times, but I like the vibe of the place. I've been quite a few times and staff have always been super nice to me. I'd recommend it!!

Good food, just, please hire a barista!. The food is clean, fresh and simple but man, I couldn't drink my muddy thin horrible coffee. Iv'e been a few times and the coffee has been ok, not great but not bad. In the last few months it's just been bad.
I hope they realise this and provide some training for their staff cause everything else on the menue is tasty, fresh and very enjoyable.
Awesome!. I reckon this place is awesome. Been twice so far and will be back. A fantastic big breakfast at a very reasonable price. Everything tastes home cooked and pride is taken in what is offered. Great little spot on the way up to the Dandenongs.
The deli is the ideal cafe. Great food, even better coffee and friendly staff. If going to the hills make sure you stop in at the locals favorite cafe!
Absolutely incredible! Very lovely staff and the food tasted delicious, and also the presentation of the coffee milkshakes and food that comes out is always consistently great! Perfect price rage for the quality and looks amazing on the inside !

Was lucky enough to dine-in at this absolute hidden gem today! The staff were incredibly warm, the atmosphere was beautiful and the food…..WOW! It is abundantly clear that there is a lot of love, passion and effort put into the place and I am so glad that I chose it to celebrate Melbourne’s coming out of lockdown! After all that small businesses have endured, and are still having to endure, I applaud this little slice of paradise on their efforts and I cannot wait to come back!
First time visitor.. Was starving after a trail walk. Was blown away by the delicious and generous portion meals and amazing coffee at great prices. Great variety of food on offer for everyone. Will be back from some more grub soon .
I really like this place & have been visiting for years. It's one of those places that has maintained its charm & quality through the years unlike a lot of other establishments in the Dandenongs. The menu selection is great, coffee/teas are good and general ambience is lovely. If you're looking for a great place to brunch or go out on a date, I'm quite sure you just found it.
