Review Souvsplus Souvlaki - Keilor East

Mezzie Moo
I ordered a lamb gyro and I asked for a little more sauce inside my gyro and she charged me an extra $1. I wasn't asking for a tub just an additional spoonful on my gyro. She didn't notify me of there would be an additional charge for sauce. I have never been charged extra for sauce and I've been to multiple souvlaki and kebab places. The other gyro, we asked for some extra onions and again she charged $0.50c for this. The food was expensive for what it was. Go to Keilor road, get a real gyro with more flavour cooked over the coals for the same price and better customer service. We won't be back. Edit: Response to owners. Not my problem that owners are rude and charge extra without notifying customers. Trust me, your food was rubbish. I won't miss your food.

A few conflicting reviews here (which is why i wanted to post an honest review), from personal experience the food has been fine (I've been there five times). The place is clean and I've always been served by a really nice guy so I'm pleased with the service as well. The only reason i don't visit more often is because the food is a bit overpriced; I think this was mentioned in another review as well. The pricing is especially highlighted because it's sitting next to a fish and chips shop which sells a few similar items for quite a lot less. It doesn't get very busy, and there are a lot of meal advertisements plastered over the windows, which makes it seem a little unwelcoming? uninviting? because you can't really see inside; i'd recommend a more open view, although maybe it's for the dining experience they're going for? Either way, pricing aside i've had absolutely no issues with the food there.

The place is practically empty and it still meant we were ungreeted. The food was nothing special considering its overpricing and slow and uninterested service. The pita was dry as was the lamb.. lucky I ordered bbq sauce with it. Next time I will go to mcdonalds down the road!

Souvsplus? No, no, no! Souvsminus. The only way I will ever return, is if I bring the health inspector in tow. The pita was dry and angry. The meat was so greasy I mistook it for my dads brylcreem. What an atrocity to call that mess food. I left with a bitter taste in my mouth, partly due to the excessive garlic, but mostly owing to the abrupt and rude service. The proprietor seems to have a chip on her shoulder. And if that wasn't bad enough, within an hour, it was hello toilet. Yep, SALMONELLA. If you value your life, I urge you not to subject yourself to Souvsplus.

Normally my partner and i travel across the city for a decent souvlaki/gyros but tonight i came across this place on menulog and thought we'd save ourself the drive being from Maribyrnong. We were not disappointed and these souvlaki's are up with the best. Will return for more! Thanks

The food is good but over priced. However the older lady that is usually at the register is rude. She doesn't greet customers and slams plates down on the table when serving. Will return for the food but please train your staff in proper customer service.

Hard, dry meat seemed re-cooked several times over. Yuck. Nearly broke a tooth.<br/>Dips too runny. Double yuck.<br/>Thought these people were Greek.. but not so sure anymore. I spotted halal sign on door as I walked out... You have been warned.<br/>Never again.

We bought a lamb souvlaki and a mixed souvlaki. it was not very good. It was really disappointing. I couldn't even finish it. We won't return.

Been here a couple of times and given MONEY for food. Food which isn't the best, meat is dry and sauces doesn't blend well with pita. For a store that specialises in souvlaki's l don't feel it's up to scratch. Generic taste from a really bland looking store. <br/> Even just looking thru all the advertising pictures l don't find anything really appealing or overwhelming that says AUTHENTIC. πŸ™ƒπŸ™‚ Not Even the fake customers in the picπŸ˜†

We have been going to this joint for the past 3 yrs . I would like to say the best in melbourne and allways the same consistency quality and quantity. Tender juicy ,succulent meat off the spit.Β <br/>Where else in the western suburbs do they have shops like this one?? Huge variety menu and they do not only have souvas, and platters, but now also Snack packs Β with authentic lamb/chicken yeeros. High RECOMMEND!!!!Visit this joint don't miss out. !!!!

Not happy with our souvlaki. Ordered two souvlakis and small chips for $25. The meat was not edible. It was obviously reheated and still cold as soon as we went to eat it. <br/><br/>The meat from the spit must have been from the night before. When they were shaving the lamb from it, the spit wasn't turning and there was no heat on it. It was dry and skinny.<br/><br/>My wife complained about the temperature of the meat in her first bite. (This was right after we purchased it.) As my wife is pregnant, I immediately told her not to eat it as I didn't want to risk any food poisoning. We preferred to lose $25 and not eat the Souvlakis than to take the risk of getting sick.

what can I say.... me and my partner have been there about 5 times. everytime we have gone there the service was okay...we once ordered a dinner for two however it was more like dinner for one..::: quality has been horrible every time... just like any restaurant we give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again... on all occasions the meat tasted like it was re heated in the microwave and did not have that fresh taste.:: i had the baklava I asked if it was fresh the answer i received was yes however biting into it has been stale... on a good note their coffee was okay and drinkable..<br/>the male there is awesome and customer service is great... overall they are friendly but I would not and have not gone there again after 5 times of getting crap food it stops there...the only good thing was the saganaki that was amazing....prices are well overpriced....now for previous comments and responses Just by being rude to ur previous customers is a no go. any feedback whether good or bad is constructive not personal u either choose to better yourselves in making you and your business excel and stand out from the rest however from what i have been reading you have been extremely rude to everyone. If u dont like the comments or feedback then that is not your customers issue. be nice to people it doesnt cost a thing after all we did spend money at your shop unfortunately. <br/>Have a lovely evening and I hope you take this critiscm with a grain of salt and know its not personal but more to the point of we will not be wasting our money at your shop again.... I rate you a 1 that is all<br/>

Bad experience. Give this place a miss. The lady got my order wrong and gave me lamb souvlaki instead of chicken. I decided to try the lamb and it was poorly cooked and fatty. <br/>I much prefer a souv from Asian place next door.

For $10.50 awsom souvlaki and the guy there is a champ. A++

I don't like this place because it doesn't represent value for money. Food is improved 100% on the old Souvlaki Hut but still has a long way to go in its own right. I live in Avondale Heights and the takeaway gets cold before it's on the table. Hopefully owners read these reviews. Place has potential, staff are good, much better than the pig owner at Nobel in Niddrie. Charcoal spit would benefit Souvs Plus if it could be installed.

To Thalia K. This is a response to Thalia K who has become the laughing stock of keilor we have had a good laugh obviously.... you must have mixed up the shop you are referring to or you got your wires crossed <br/>First of all you should get your facts straight before you write a review. No ladies in the shop cut the meat , only the chef does so first of all you are either a liar or a competitor trying to bring down the like views . Has never been in the shop and got caught out <br/>Haven't you got anything better to do? As for the meat you said on Mondays has left overs how can that be when all the meat is finished off the spit ???is that why we are busy on ALL DAYS because of the crap we serve?????"<br/>We are the best out of all the rest and proof is the loyal customers coming back and back again. One more thing i did not see a bad review so far just yours and you are pack of lies. <br/><br/>Grow up and be more mature whoever you are???<br/><br/>Souvlaki hut staff

This place used to be great when it first opened but has gone downhill fast. If you get served by the main lady behind the counter, she will always get your order wrong. She is also terrible at cutting the gyro from the spit, with big chunks that end up cold before you get through a mouthful. The lamb gyro is terrible, chicken is slightly better. I have been coming here for ages, as have several of my friends and family and its the same complaint, rubbery, cold lamb gyro and terrible communication. Get served by the son and you have a chance of getting your order right and enjoying your gyro as he cuts it very fine, and its actually edible. Dont go at the start of the week for gyro, you will end up with the left overs from the weekend

Opaaaaa!!!!. Wow!!! the servings are huge!!! is not only quantity the quality of this place is unbelievable i think it might be family owned but never the less these guys are profesionals .. they got an inside and outside and they are both top class .. to be honest i was just expecting them to make souvlaki but these guys have the best meat around. Proper meat not the processed kebab meat i have had before and was discusted in other places. My friends had a meal for two and they only spend $25 but it was a huge meal they couldn't believe it. 10/10. Good on you guys i'll be back.

Excellent for take away! Delicious meat and bread, not for the faint-hearted though! Servings are huge!
