Very big servings! The smashed avo could have fed two people. The only downside was the cafe was packed and hard to have a conversation. Might be less noisy outside
Absolutely amazing cafe, good areas outside, great food and fantastic customer service. Love coming here
Very friendly, attentive and welcoming staff. Everyone in that cafe had a smile on their face. Food came out fast during a busy period. We ordered the avo and eggs on toast. Eggs were poached to perfection. Oozing inside just the way i like it. Overall dish was nice. Coffee was a bit on the bitter side. I felt like my expresso was mainly water and less crema. I still was impressed with this place. It's definitley a gem in the hills :)
I really enjoy coming here for a meal with friends and all our kids! The playground is great, and the cafe’s food is excellent. Plenty of parking nearby too. Can’t fault it!
Came across this place when I was around the area trying to find a cafe to visit. They serve pretty good coffee and staffs were quite helpful in general. I would definitely recommend getting the 'Baked Eggs & Mushrooms', the portion is HUGE (so maybe sharing is a good idea), and it tastes amazing. If you're a mushroom lover, you'll get what I mean. The other dishes are not bad either, but not special enough for me to want to revisit unfortunately.

In short: The Local Trade is a family-friendly café that ticks all the right boxes, by offering great food, excellent coffee, lots of parking spaces, a playground right next to the café, all located within a shopping village.
Even we all know how much it is really in this day and age, it is really rare that you would be able to find a café with parking right at the entrance, a decent size playground right next to the cafe with new equipment, a huge Coles supermarket in the same indoor vicinity, and a whole host of specialty stores to meet your every need and then some.
Really enjoyed this brunch spot with easy access on the outside of a local shopping centre.
Had the fanciest bacon and egg roll I've ever seen! Covered in Parmesan, edible flowers and microherbs. Also had the perfect egg yolk run and was in a crispy roll.
Had the avo smash which was nice, just needed to go a lil harder on the feta.
Truffle fries were a nice sneaky touch to the brunch menu, these were really good and had a good amount of oil and Parmesan.
Lastly the choccy shake was really good, nice and thick and made with ice cream. Def a spot to check out if you're in the area!
Came here for breakfast and would rate it up there with the quality of food they are dishing out.
Had the eggs Benedict with bacon and it was on point. Serving sizes are quite large with what you get and also looking at other dishes they were serving were quite large also.
Coffee is great here also and you can't go wrong with freshly squeezed OJ.
Only downside is wait times to get a table, especially on weekends. Also food is quite pricey, probably looking at spending $20-25 on food with a drink.
Would definitely come back. Quite interested to check out the burgers they dish up!
Coffee was spot on and the buttermilk pancakes were so good with strawberries and blueberries. No complaints at all. I'll come back to try something else on the menu because ask the food going past looked really good.
Just popped in for drinks on the weekend. We were given a table really quick and service generally was pretty good.
I grabbed a cup of coffee which was ok; Toby's estate bean which is an absolute fav of mine. The coffee was full bodied and had a nice aroma to it. My friend with me had an iced chocolate, which still has clumps of ice in it 😭, but regardless the flavour was pretty good and were satisfied. The meals on surrounding tables looked really good and will be back to try it!
Came here on the long weekend with a friend for a late lunch. We got a table right away, and service was prompt. We both ordered the Berbere Spiced Chicken burger with fries. At $17, I think it was overpriced for what we received, but anyway. The food came out pretty quickly. The burger was sized just right - not too big or too small. The bun was crispy and fresh, and the chicken was cooked perfectly with tasty middle eastern spices, although the spices may have been just a little bit too overpowering. The fries were tasty too. Would definitely like to come back here sometime!
Decided to try out this relatively local cafe during the Queens birthday long weekend. We arrive for lunch at about 1:30pm and were seated right away. I ordered an iced chai which unfortunately was a bit of a let down. My fault as I was expecting more of a chai frappe but the chai flavour seemed to be very based up the top so it tasted a bit too milky as I drank. My friend and I both ordered the Berbere Spiced Chicken Burger which was delicious! The chicken was cooked well and it was good that this burger didn't include too many extra things. It was just big enough that it wasn't too big. The bun was absolutely delicious! The chips tasted like McDonalds chips (which I love) but better and we were served with a very generous amount. My only criticism of the burger was that the flavour was just a tiny bit overpowering when put with the ranch. It was only very minor though. I think the meal is a little pricey, maybe $14-$15 would be better as opposed to $17 however service and wait time was great. I would be happy to return.
Just popped in for drinks just before midday, we were quickly seated and we grabbed a coffee and an iced chocolate.
Overall the coffee was good and balanced flavour but the iced chocolate was alright but not as great as first anticipated! Would go back for the nice interiors and good vibes of the cafe
I ate at The Local Trade a few days ago. I met with friends for lunch after reading good reviews in regards to child friendly cafes. I loved this place. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was great. We sat right at the end, outside and I didn't feel overwhelmed by the kiddy chaos. My ten year old daughter had fun playing with her one year old little friend in the super close playground. Plenty of 'pram parking'. I had the zucchini and corn fritters and my daughter had the burger. Both were delicious. Although we didn't have one, the monster shakes looked amazing!
The coffee was great too. I would definitely return if I was with the kids, probably not a place for a quiet coffee 😉.
Thanks for wonderful service and delicious food! 👌🏽
A tad bit pricier than the average $3.50, it was also a tiny bit hotter than my coffee drinking temp, and also a bit not as strong. There also wasn't enough chocolate in the mocha, more towards the coffee side. The food took around 20min to come, a little bit longer than we expected since there weren't many people in the cafe, and the coffee art was disappearing...but that didn't matter since we were pleasantly surprised when the food come out.
I can't fault this cafe!
Their servings are very generally and they are really well-priced! Their menu is great and covers both savoury and sweet really well..
I LOVE their Acai bowls.. And can confidently say they are the best in Sydney!
The staff are so warm and friendly and I always seem to spend a few extra minutes up at the register chatting after paying.
They are a GREAT local cafe and I'm so happy they are in the are! It's my absolute favourite place to eat!
The Local Trade really does have the locals covered – great coffee, a sheltered playground, amazing food, easy parking…what more could you want!
Ive been here a couple of times now and its so lovely that these shops have a decent cafe with a fresh menu. Im sure its also a heaven sent being right next to a kids playground. I havent tried the menu yet but i have come here for my dose of caffeine and its quite good. They use campos and the barista is great.
Genuinely impressed by these guys!
It's starting to become more common in and around the hills area for healthier cafes to open their doors as opposed to really average ones and these guys are far from average!
Ordered up their chicken and roasted corn salad which was really really nice! One criticism though is the chicken thigh (only because I'm not the biggest fan of it) would love to see chicken breast in the salad but apart from that the flavour combo was really really nice!
Also picked up a "juice 1" and that was magical! Seriously!
Get your butts down to them are give it a go!
Great coffee (but our orders were mixed up) good meals with dietary options, I ordered the breakfast bowl (which was very tasty) with GF bread but no bacon and still get charged extra for the GF bread, but that said it was the best GF bread I’ve had a a cafe. The cafe was full on a Sunday morning so the staff were flat out but still attentive & friendly.
Loved our breakfast catch up with our friends! They have creatively dressed dishes with a cool guarded playground.
Great local spot for brunch - very reasonably priced portions & tasty food.
Ordered the breakfast plate, cooked to perfection and EVERYTHING about it was to die for, massive serving too, so be hungry if you order it or share with your kids. Staff super friendly and coffee is strong without any burnt taste, so overall experience is 100%, and I'll be happy to come back again!
latte 1sug ($3.90): busy time in the morning but the it was still a very short wait for my coffee, perfect temperature, nice and warm and not too hot. the texture of the milk was great, it was very silky and smooth. very sweet and well balanced mix of coffee and milk and the strength of the coffee was not too overpowering. the sugar was well mixed into the coffee and didn't get stuck at the bottom which also gave it a slightly sweet taste to it.

the cafe: located in a suburban shopping village on busy main road, prominent location on the outside of the centre. free centre parking right outside the cafe with disabled and parents parking also. fairly small inside but still has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. there is also a children's playground next to it which makes it very family friendly. great team of employees, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. this has been my local go-to cafe for many years.

I had a halloumi toasty which was delicious! Service was friendly. Coffee wasn’t great but drinkable. Overall a pleasant experience.

The Local Trade brings great cafe fare to Kellyville and north western Sydney. Juices in generous beakers, burgers on boards with crispy fries. Green pea falafels transport you to the Mediterranean and are light and fluffy. Coffee is by Toby Estate and is robust, creamy and complex. For the kids there their own menu and a huge plus is the playground attached to the cafe which enables parents to sit, eat and still keep an eye on their kids. Great service, relaxed and casual and conveniently located in the Kellyville Village shopping plaza.
