We visit this restaurant every time we come to Perth as we really love the 18 hour steak it just melts in the mouth , probably one of the best steaks ever eaten.
Had dinner at HB Kelmscott and loved it, staff were friendly, meals were lovely, quick and brought out all together. �

My boyfriend and I went there last night to celebrate an anniversary together before a movie. We chose to go to Hog's Breath Cafe because we had been there once before and quite enjoyed it.
As we got in, the restaurant was jam packed which always seems to be the case for this restaurant. The decor is cluttered yet quirky; very enjoyable for families.
We made a reservation and got a table just fine.
Our waitress was absolutely lovely and checked up on us several times. My boyfriend ordered the Cheese Burger In Paradise ($15.95) and I ordered the Garlic Mushroom Prime Rib ($36.95)
It didn't take long for our food to arrive which was nice, although the burger was apparently quite underwhelming. He described it as deceiving in its appearance for it actually tasted quite bland. The bun itself was slightly stale tasting so he was a little disappointed with his meal and was't the biggest fan of the signature hog tail fries.
My steak dish arrived which smelt and looked great. Everything on my plate was hot and freshly cooked, however, when I tried the mushrooms they were surprisingly cold. My steak was cooked absolutely perfect (medium rare) and tasted amazing. I too wasn't the biggest fan of the fries though.
We then decided to share a dessert. We ordered the Rocky Road Sundae For One ($9.95). The best way to describe the meal would probably be average but definitely pleasant. It was just regular ice cream with syrup and fudge. I loved the fudge a lot though.
In summary, the food quantity was quite generous which I appreciate for the price and for the most part, tasted pretty nice. What really impressed me though was the high level of service. The waitresses were all lovely and very attentive.
I would recommend this place to anybody that is willing to pay a little above average price for the steak because that is definitely the stand out dish of this restaurant. If money is an issue, maybe give this place a skip or opt for a cheaper meal. Also, keep in mind that the environment is very busy so there is a lot of noise and maybe not the best place to go on a formal occasion.
Hog's Breath was a pleasant but not amazing experience.
First and foremost, I am reviewing Hog's Breath as a vegetarian. I really like the Spicy Cajun Mushroom salad - I get it every time and am not disappointed. For dessert I had the creme brûlée and I enjoyed it.. the top layer could have been a bit more crunchier though. I had the strawberry and mint lemonade and a latte to drink & was satisfied on both accounts. A bit disappointed to see that the vegetarian potato skins had been removed from the menu - for entree we ordered the potato skins that were on the menu minus the bacon and they weren't amazing (like I remember the vegetarian ones being). Overall, I would rate between a 3.5 to 4/5.
Ordered the hickory steak, was a bloody delight. Partner ordered the chicken parmi, was pretty average but a chicken parmi can never truely be bad.
Drinks were good, jacks and coke was weak as piss though.
I'd recommend going here if you're not fussed.
One of my favorite steak place with plenty sitting, easy parking, friendly staffs and reasonable price too! My favorite would be the calamari prime rib, medium rare, extra honey sweet chilli sauce (free), sweet potato sides and fresh veges with cheese (add $2.29). A complete and delicious meal indeed!
I always love coming here and bringing my friends here too! The only downside was sometimes the steak can be a bit too hard (even for a medium rare), but more often than not it was cooked to perfection. So I guess, just need to improve a bit on consistency, guys!
Have been 2 times and both times was great! The tasting plate is so good! I have had steak both times which I like cooked all the way thru (very well done) and it is still so tender! Yum yum! Service is great to, really pay attention to everyone!
The steaks are tender... And melt in your mouth... But I think they could do better with the soggy steamed veggies. The service sometimes a bit poor... They need a few of friendly staff to serve the customers.. All in all.. The food is always fantastic.
Love it, cant get enough of this place ! Great service, quick meals. Good recommendations from staff too. Great discounts if you become a loyalty member as well.
We went to Hogs Breath Cafe in Kelmscott, was greeted warmly, advised to wait at the bar area, found drinks to be over priced, in time were ushered to our table, greeted by a lovely young lad "Blake", very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our appetisers, main meal and I asked if there was anything special for a birthday, I was told there was a COMPLIMENTRY mud cake to share, we had that and let the meal down, went to pay for it and going out in the car, found we were charged for the cake...... $8.95. If that was the case, would have chosen a lovely sundae that they have on the menu and at least would have been happy to pay for it. I don't like things being twisted around for greed. It will be a long while before I return.
Extremely impressed with their separate billing system, where separate bills could be allocated according to seat positions !! More places need to adopt this system
It's the best thing ever!!. We LOVE coming to HBC, and have come so often over the years we have the loyalty card (which makes us like it even more because the meals are more affordable).
We always order the steak and calamari. It is just fantastic!
The steak is always cooked the way we like it and seems to be of excellent quality too. The veggies are delicious.
Service here has ALWAYS been outstanding. Staff are friendly, accommodating, and outgoing. They aren't robotic and will have a genuine laugh with you.
(Now I have a craving for HBC... Time to make a booking!)

Love it such good customer service. Favorite advocado steak cooked medium rare. Always a win customer service can not be faulted. This is by far the best steak I have ever had.
I always find the Kelmscott Hogs Breath to be friendly and courteous with customer service and with prompt service. They know exactly what they are doing and have had no mistakes with foods, orders or drinks. I will only go to this KELMSCOTT one now not any of the others.
I have been multipl time and.... I have been multiple time and every single time I have loved it. The staff are amazing they have treated me with respect. The food is full of flavor and is very filling. The price is a little expensive but the experience makes up for it. I have taken all my family and friends they love it too.
Went here with the family a few weeks ago and the food was great! for the price paid, we expected good quality tasting food and we got that. i ordered the chicken salad and the serving was huge, definitely getting what you paid for. the salad was fresh and enjoyable.
my brother and dad loved their steaks also. service was a little bit slow when waiting for food, but was a busy night so it was understandable.
definitely recommend for a good family dinner :-)
Best steaks in Perth!. Regular customer, never disappointed! staff are friendly and happy to meet my custom orders. Great place for a meal and a drink!
My self and my partner have been coming to this restaurant for around 15 months now. In that time at least 20 ventures. I have only once had a meal go wrong and was well looked after with a 50% discount. We find the food prices extremely fair considering their quality exceeds most pubs in Perth. The salads are horrible so we don't bother but everything else is as good as can be.

Excellent service and delicious food. Our group of four celebrated our daughters birthday here on a weeknight. The restaurant was so busy and as we had reserved a booth we were seated very quickly. Within five minutes we were asked for our drink choices. We were very impressed with the attentive wait staff. Not long after, the manager asked us our selections for dinner and he was very helpful with our questions and quick taking our order. He had so much enthusiasm for the restaurant.
Our meal arrived very quickly and it was what we asked for. The food tasted beautiful and the presentation and portions were excellent. We had the garlic prawns, fish and chips, chicken and mushroom and the steak and prawns. Our drinks were lovely, we enjoyed very nice cocktails and beer. The mocktails were also delicious.
The restaurant was very busy but this did not affect the service we received from the staff, who were all friendly and efficient. It was a great atmosphere in the restaurant and we loved the fact that we could share a good belly laugh without other customers staring.
It is a fantastic family restaurant and we would recommend it to all. The prices are affordable compared to others in Perth. The only disappointment was when the staff member who took our call asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion and we told her it was a 16th birthday and when we were at the restaurant, the reason for that question was not made known to us.
We have dined here twice before and we will dine here again. Thanks for a special night.

This place isn't a cafe its a Restraunt , yummy food at great prices, staff are always helpful !!!! Food is beautifully presented . Me and my kids love this place for lunch or dinner an desserts are amazing !!! Only downfall is that it's meant to do really good steak : / they kind of suck at this ( not just my opinion but from many I have been with ) meat is bombarded with fat all the way through makes it a major let down . Stay away from the steak everything else is gorgeous
Dont expect 5 star. The meals dont really reflect the price, they are charging 5 star prices for pub meals, in saying so its good to go there when all you want is a big feed of steak, iv been there when iv had a terrible meal but iv also been there and had the best steak iv ever tried!
my favourite things are the cocktails!! sooo damn good for cocktails!!
Have eaten here on several occasions and never had a problem with the food or service.

Delicious Food. Always consistant with great service and great food. The wait is never too long, the staff are always friendly. As newcomers to Perth, we've found our local for sure. Delicious steaks, I recommend the Garlic and White wine Steak, fantastic value. Great environment and real value for money.
Absolutely recommended! We booked a table and dined here for my birthday and when we came in everything has been prepared including the high chair for my little one. The steak was amazing, the best one I had so far! My baby was so glad to have the kids menu that comes with the coloring kit. The service was very good and all the team members are so friendly. Also got a surprise birthday gift that I was not even expected for! Will definitely come back on other occasions.

The food was amazing! Slightly overcooked the salmon, but the steak was outstanding and cooked to perfection (perfect medium rare). The drinks were amazing as always as well, and the cheesy garlic bread was probably the best I've had ever. Highly recommend

My daughter asked to go to Hogs breath for her birthday dinner. We had a great time with quick service and quality meals. The lovely waitresses even delivered a complimentary mud cake and sung happy Birthday 🥳 it was worth the visit just to see her try to hide with embarrassment….
