Review Enjoy Mie - Kensington

Always nice service! Cool table outside. Strongly recommend the grill chicken and fried soy bean cake. They also have the Durian dessert. If you like chillies đŸŒ¶ try their samba sauce. Suggestion to improve: more dishes with green vegetables.

Shalom is a must visit for a flavour packed snd authentic Indonesian restaurant. Firstly the meals are all cooked fresh to order and their Chilli Sambal is divine and has the right consistency with spice and saltiness. The service was really friendly and the dining area was kept spotless. Must visit for authentic Indonesian food.

Lex's takeaway dinner from @shalomindonesianrestaurant - really yummy yellow rice with fried chicken! The chicken was perfectly fried. Nice and crispy outside and tender on the inside. So good!

Shalom is definitely up there as one of the best Indonesian restaurants in Sydney. The dishes are always packed with flavour and taste as authentic as Indonesian food gets. A must try if you are in the area. Decently priced also and friendly service.

Great Indonesian food. This place is always packed full of Indonesian people so you know the food is good. I visit regularly and always enjoy the food here. All my favourite Indonesian dishes including Longton rice cakes, Nasi Campung , chicken sate and on my latest visit had their excellent Soto Mie chicken Noodle Soup. So good. Enak sekali!

The hottest Sambal the best Nasi goreng, the nicest people .. I love this place SO much, I come here SO much, and it never dissapoints. Indonesian food is crazy CrAzY flavoursome. Where else do you get such rich oooomph? Look at that depth that wealth of magic!! Sometimes there’s so much laughter here coming from the kitchen it’s wonderful. You know what they say, happy kitchen hoppy food. No I’ve never heard that saying either Eating the nasi goreng With kurupuk is a must

I was invited for lunch at Shalom Indonesian Restaurant today. The food service was very quick and friendly. I had the chilli prawn with rice and I love spicy food but this was hot which was great. For a quick lunch this place is great. Right in the heart of the city on Sussex street so if you’re in the city I highly recommend trying it out. Definitely worth 5 stars.

Decided to come here to satisfy my indo noodle cravings (bakmie ayam).. i do not have any high expectations of this place from the beginning. And omg apparently its even worse than what i’ve expected. Their soy chicken was poorly seasoned. Texture of their egg noodle is more like an instant noodle. Will never ever come back to this place again.

This place specialises in Hokkien/Indonesian noodles and I was really impressed with the complete special - good noodles, flavoursome pork mince, egg, meatballs, veges. Pour the soup in the noodles for a ramen effect - maybe not as flavoursome but very good and typical Indonesian and decent value for the size at $14. One of the best Indo places along this strip.

Those that know me know that noodle is my middle name 😆. I live and breathe noodles and constantly in the look for any new noodle joints. Enjoy Mie is definitely one of those true and tested restaurant that I keep coming back to. The new management has gone strength to strength with keeping the quality of the food, new menu offerings, and consistent customer service. I’m one of those people who normally always order the same menu at the same restaurant but their menu are honestly all great so I find myself ordering between their Bakmi Swekiauw (Noodle with Dumplings), Lao Cu Pan Babi Cincang (Tapioca Noodle with Mince Pork) and Bakmi Siantar (Noodle with Bbq Pork and Soya Egg). They are all delish and moreish and I’m salivating just thinking about them! Don’t forget to order their fried meatballs as they’re the perfect “snack” while you wait for your noodles!

Don't care about your customer. Got a pork noodle instead of the chicken noodle, they waitress "redo" the toppings only by scooped the minced pork and put the minced chicken instead of replacing the whole noodle that contaminated with minced pork. No SOP

Like some ramen stores, you choose the type of noodles, the basic and additional toppings then you go with the basic sauce or you further choose either the 'sakaw' or 'gila' sauce option (see my uploaded menu pics).

Pork minced noodle (bakmi babi cincang) with 'sakaw' special sauce n fresh chilli. I thought this would propel me to mars kind of spicy hot, the kick was enuf to get me to the moon.

Chicken noodle (bakmi ayam) with 'gila' option (sweet n sour sauce w chilli). 'Gila' suggests all sorts of foolish craziness, less 'i am crazy for you kind', more the 'are you nuts kind'. So it was w some trepidation that i gingerly stuffed my hole, only to be relieved or more like puzzled as i was expecting rocket sort of 'gila' at least in the heat dept.

Both optional sauces, the sakaw n gila are worth trying if you have not. No one else does it as far as i know.

For peeps who actually read posted reviews, they'd know that i suffer from 'fomo' esp when i have only 1 single bloated tummy n 1 hole to stuff food into. Thank God for takeaways as i wasnt gonna leave without them (wink* Joe K)). The basic bakmi ayam jamur (egg noodles w chicken n shrooms) was actually pretty good. Glad we had some as a few takeaways. A man gotta feed his troops..😉

Heard about this place from 2 friends. One is big fan of Enjoy Mie, while other friend is not lol i came here by accident, no plan at all, it's just because i took wrong bus 😂 i was ordered chicken mushroom noodles ($10.50) with extra chasiu - roasted pork ($4) and 2 pcs of fried meatballs ($2.5 each). The noodle was very good, it reminds me of old scool noodles joint in Jakarta that i liked so much. Topping was generous, chicken piece is good combination sweet and savory, pork was good. The only thing i dont like on my plate just the soup, but i dont care as long the noodle taste good. Fried meatball just average (been had tastier fried meatball).

A quiet and friendly restaurant. Offers a simple home-y menu, and the serving size is alright. Definitely a good place if you want a light, but filling, meal. Price is also alright, and flavour is pretty top!!

The new management did a really good job. The food was great, service was better than before, didnt have to wait long for the food.
Tried the swekiau noodle. The noodle is so soft and the swekiau is so tasty. Will definitely come back for more. Keep it up!

been there twice and both disappointed with their slow service, ignorance wait staff and heard from Indon friend, this was a Jelicoe Noodle re-branded for their unknown reason frequent shop closures. I guess my experience said it all.

We love the Chinese sub-genre of Indonesian food, chicken noodles in particular. So when we get a bunch of reader recommendations for Enjoy Mie in Kensington, we're on it.

A new Indonesian Noodle shop opened up in Kensington not too long ago. So bebski & I decided to try it out one Thursday night. The location of the place was where Wow Bulgogi used to be. They've changed a bit of the interior but everything else are still similar. So what you do when you enter is to look at the menu, order to the counter and then pick a seat :) There's a self-serve section for cutleries, condiments and serviette.
