Follow me for more good reviews Great Chinese restaurant, tasty dishes, the satay chicken and the beef with pepper sauce stands out, the sweet and sour pork is also a good choice, a restaurant you can safely go back to.

I have been to Hoh Won for Lunch and dinner more than 10 years., today, i am extremely diasppointed from its lunch special. The portion is much smaller. It used to have 6x wings but only 3x wings now.... The fried rice has almost no bbq pork in there. it is sad to see the standard has drop so badly... and it is sad that I dun think I will go to Hoh Won anymore it is not the same Hoh Won as before.....

The service… the food… Ordered three dishes. One of them was forgot behind. Asked about it about 30mins after I ordered. They apologised said they forgot. I said never mind went to pay. Waiter went to the kitchen to check. Magically this dish was done in 1 minute and I can’t cancel it. Fine, take away them. And the following picture is the result. Some organ is still attached with chicken. The flavour is like drinking a warm beer, Absolutely disgusting.

Love this small Chinese Restaurant, try and go here regularly with my housemates and just has such a warm and familiar vibe. The food is great and so is the service, BYO and they'll chill your drinks. Can recommend the duck and the sizzling dishes. Reasonable price, but bit odd there is no cash discount but still always look forward to coming back to Hoh Won.

Delicious food and friendly customer service. Decent size portion for the price. I would come back to try other dishes. Family friendly, high chair available.

It was so so. A small suburban eatery. We had combination chow mein and salt and pepper squid. The squid batter was quite hard, and the spice is from the small scattered green chillies.

Delicious chinese foods with very reasonable price

Great food, affordable price in this long-loved establishment. No frills decor, great value. Tasty food. Hard to beat at this price point.

I ordered take out tonight and the food was absolutely D I S G U S T I N G.

The spring rolls and entrees were burnt and the lemon chicken tasted like lemon toilet duck. The fried rice had no flavour. You need to change the oil in your fryer!

I’m so tempted to ring your restaurant and demand a refund and complain to the manager!

During Covid 19 you should be taking pride in the food you’re serving and not be selling shit tasting food to your customers!

I’ve put your food where it belongs....the rubbish bin!

Had been here for quite some times. Shredded beef always yum, also the fish with sweet corn sauce. Ordered the salt and pepper squid, turned out was fine, most likely to be a bit tasteless. Beans with steak in black pepper sauce was okay, the steak was really nice, but the beans more to tasteless. Chowmein with braised chicken was fine. Overall was good, will be happy to be back for the shredded beef.

This happens to be the worst service I ever had. My family and I was just having dinner. suddenly, a staff ask us to move our table IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR DINNER. Even though the staff saw us still chewing our food, they do not seemed to be ashamed and proceed to move our table anyway.

Been going to Ho Won for over 20 years and it never disappoints. Their shantong chicken is the best i've ever had and their shredded beef is amazing!

Ordered three dishes that day
-shantung chicken: not my favorite
-fried fish with corn sauce: perfect combination between those two❤
-shredded beef: unlike usual shredded beef that it small and long, this one the beef was wide. Its crispy and the sauce was sweet and I really like it💕💕
However, the service was not really good

Really crowded chinese restaurant. The foods are all big portion but the service is not that nice. The foods were okay. The santhung chicken was too salty for me. The shredded pork was okay and the fish with corn soup was okay as well.

The food is sublime and the portions are hugh, and it is more than affordable. A little bit of a queue but the wait is worth it. Highly recommended

Long time favourite - it's been here since the 80's, so they've surely done something right. It's a family run business, now taken over by the kids but the quality has not changed! The service from the daughter is exemplary and the food is still top notch. There's usually a good mix of ethnicity sitting around at the tables which shows how well it has fared. Just be a bit careful with their szechuan pork, it really has a good kick to it!

A great find on a rainy night when we were in the mood for Chinese. The delicious Hot And Sour Soup was thick and flavourful; the recommended Seafood Szechwan didn't turn down the heat dial so was really tasty and included squid and scallops; the Honey King Prawns was really fresh with meaty prawns; and the really smokey and flavourful Special Fried Rice tasted like it has been prepared in a wok that had seen many an order - delish! Generous portions, friendly service, classic Australian Chinese Restaurant interior. We'll be back for sure.

As a Chinese, personally, I think this restaurant might be the best Chinese restaurant I've ever visited in Australia. The food is delicious and in big size. Highly recommended.

I have been eating here for over 20 years now and still is my absolute favourite Chinese restaurant in Sydney! The staff are always amazing, the prices are super low and the food is so delicious. Plus it's byo!!

lunch special here ($8.80) is really value for money! dishes are all rice included and feel free to choose fried rice or steam rice. I ordered Shantung Chicken, Honey Pepper Pork, Deep Fried Fish with Corn Sauce, and mix veggies.

Peter O. How could you not like this place. Have been going for years and will continue to do so.

The crispy Mini spring rolls ($8.40 for 6 pieces) come with that classic reddy pink super processed sauce. The Shantung Chicken ($11.80) is worth trying and not as garlicky as Kingsford Chinese Restaurant but also not quite as good in my books. The Sweet

Delicious!. Went there for dinner tonight and the food was superb! Service is nice and friendly, relaxing atmosphere, and food is very authentic. Will be returning very soon!

Long live long soup!. Was after some chicken noodle soup to cure my ills. Although this isn't actually on the menu I ordered 2 x Long soup for $5 each and steamed chicken with ginger and shallots for $12.80. Both dishes were great and made four substantial and delicious bowls for us. Would definitely order from here again.

Pretty disappointed with this place, especially as it has such a high rating.

Ordered the chicken curry for lunch which was a reasonable price at $8.80. The chicken was tender, however the meal was far too salty, which prevented me from finishing it. I also found a bone in the dinner and found the meat bits in the fried rice chewy.

I won't be going back in a hurry!

The best chinese food in Kensington. Always return to this restaurant, Food is always excellent,Service are always prompt, Basic set up for the place and excellent prices for meals much better value than Peking duck restaurant down the road which is overpriced, small portioned, loaded with MSG and it feels like you are doing them a favour by being there,no attitudes from these friendly people and always a good cheap feed.

Highly recommended. Hoh Wan delivers fast, cheap, wholesome Chinese food. The lunch servings are extremely generous and good value for money.

The chicken satay is exceptional.

My only criticism is the lack of music playing. The ambience could be enhanced with some soft music, instead there's often an awkward silence.

Simple and good. Not the best looking chinese restaurant, but then again few are...anyway good food and value. the shredded beef is awesome!

Good value. We ordered Shantung Chicken and shredded beef and rice and it cost us less than $30. Food was good and serving was generous. Service is not bad but could be improved.
