Great food and friendly service in an atmospheric setting. Good menu with sharing options so you can sample more. Not sure why I hadn't been here before but I'll definitely be back!

Such a fantastic restaurant (or maybe should not call that a restaurant but a bar?) on such a quiet street. The score on Zomato doesn't quite match with the quality of food and level of service I have experienced. It should definitely be more than 4.5/5. We tried at least 4 entrees and 3 main courses plus a dessert amongst the hungry trio and we were so satisfied. The quality of seafood is really good. we know what good seafood taste like and this is the place where you can experience a large variety of good quality seafood. Wine list is comprehensive, I had a couple of red that night and I loved it.
I heard that the chef used to be a Michilin 3 star chef and I don't doubt that at all after spending a night at the place. Food is a little bit expensive if you are a big eater. However you get Immaculate service, good environment and fantastic food. You get what you paid for. I was going to take more photos but couldn't resist the temptation of food so in the end just didn't bother. Very happy dining experience there and will definitely return.
The best sharing plates ! Between the 4 of us we ordered 3 first plates and 3 mains with champagne and shiraz : our faves were the seafood dumplings, tge king prawns and the rabbit gnocchis. We had a lovely service and amazing french food. We shall be back for a romantic date night soon !
Over the last couple of years, I have been to Giallo twice. Both were great experiences. Most recently, a couple of weeks ago, we came in a group of four on a Friday evening (and without a booking). I love the ambiance - it's smallish but welcoming, dimmed inside and also great outdoor sitting area, especially on warm evenings.
The menu is not overly huge but the many dishes we savoured (photos added) were delicious. Service was also very attentive and friendly. Perfect for a date or a relaxed evening with friends. Very much recommend this hidden gem 👌
Giallo, which means ‘yellow’ in Italian, is a small restaurant/wine bar tucked away at far-east Rundle Street in Kent Town. It’s been open for three years now but there are still a lot of people who don’t know it’s there. Even though it’s right there on Rundle Street, it doesn’t really stand out so it’s easy to drive right past it, even if you’re looking for it! It’s a relatively small place with some indoor seating as well as an outdoor area at the front.  When you go in the evening, it has a really nice dim light ambience – good for a romantic night!
Brilliant food on a good menu offering a choice of tapas and more substantial meals. Owner is a fantastic host and the winelist offers some great choices you don't normally see. Good value. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Hidden gem this one. Tiny, maybe seating 20 inside and 10ish outside.
Food is fabulous with an Italian/Spanish vibe and lots of dishes that work well when shared. A great wine list with lots of specials on the board, heavily weighted towards SA labels - why not, we are the wine capital of Australia!
Service is friendly and unobtrusive which is a skill in such a small space.
The peeps of Kent Town have a real winner here, hopefully the CBD work out how close it is and get in on the action.
There is no Diet Coke. I am reduced to drinking lemon, lime and bitters. Not very slimming.
It's Tuesday, a very quiet day for restaurants, so there's no one else here. The proprietor has a yarn with me for a few minutes.
I always thought giallo was a summer restaurant, but after dining their tonight I realised how cosy and ambient the restaurant is in winter. The food was outstanding as always, so fresh and full

Excellent. Had an amazing lunch here. Everything we tried (half the menu!) was delicious, especially the haloumi, anchovies, carpaccio and the fish of the day. Service was impeccable. Will be back again very soon!
I took a group of girlfriends there for a catchup dinner, we had the most wonderful food and service which just added to a wonderful night. One of those nights we will never forget. Everything was wonderful! Thanks Giallo!!

Wow. Two friends and I dined at Giallo on Saturday night and were really impressed. We shared a variety of starters and entrees (about 6 or 7) and were delighted with each plate. Beautiful presentation, flavours and all cooked to perfection. The highlight would have to be the beef carpaccio which would have to be the best I have had.
Staff were friendly, not amazing on their menu knowledge (i.e. Kingfish with beans doesn't really explain the fish of the day) but still lovely.
Can't wait to go back!
Yum, yum, yum!. I dined here last night, overall the food and service were exceptional. For entree I had the polenta, and for main course I had the special which was gnocchi (vegetarian) the food was amazing, very well balanced flavours, and perfectly seasoned. Everyone I dined with thoroughly enjoyed there meals as well. I highly recommend Giallo Wine Bar, and will definitely be back! Good work guys!
GREAT SERVICE! Cannot fault it, the owner was lovely. If you love rich food and wine, this is your place! I'm more into fresh flavours as opposed to heavy, rich ones. The mozzarella and tomato salad with pine nuts and sultanas was the best mozzarella salad I've ever had and the duck was cooked to perfection, although I didn't like the accompanying sauce. Gnocchi was great too but again, didn't love the sauce. I'd recommend it though, great dining experience!

Estaba buenisimo!. Giallo is an excellent restaurant. Mediterranean inspired food, all prepared beautifully and absolutely delicious. From out appetisers of Spanish white anchovies and a Baked Barrel Aged Feta, we shared a first plate of quail saltimbocca then both had the steak. Cooked perfectly medium rare!!! And an excellent wine list with great local and international wine. We started with a glass of french champagne, then a tasmanian pinot noir followed by a big Californian Cab Sav. Yum! The service was fab, attentive but not rushed, friendly and professional. Liked the decor and could peer through the glass door into the Greenaway Gallery next door. And the complimentary shot of limoncello at the end finished things perfectly. Muchos Gracias!!
Also would like to add that there were two vegetarian appetisers and two vegetarian first plates and the special of the day was gnocchi gorgonzola, so for vegetarians it would be a great option - better than the ubiquitous spaghetti napoli.

Gorgeous!. Chic, sexy food which is also delicious!!!! Ambient and cosy outside area and attentive helpful service, couldn't ask for anything more. Try the chorizo, white bait, mozzarella salad and prawns!
Lovely 'hole in the wall' restaurant. Dined at this tiny place with my husband a few weeks ago. Only about 8 tables inside and 4 were booked. We had some great comfy black leather seats. Service was great. All food is designed to share and nothing we ordered was a let down. Scallops and steak particularly good. Eclectic wine list and great cheeses for after dinner. Would definitely return for a special dinner as it wasnt a cheap night out.

The cake has a nice grainy but soft texture, and is very moist. It’s infused with a tangy orange liquid, and seems like it had strawberry syrup in its base. The mandarin sorbet was interesting. I don’t think I’ve had mandarin-flavoured dessert before. This sorbet was bitey and sweet, and really captured the specific flavour of a mandarin. Though both these components were tangy, the slightly sweeter sorbet offset the slightly tart cache perfectly.

The festive season was on its way, and what better way to enter this period than with good food and good friends. After trying to get a booking at another Adelaide restaurant to no avail, a friend suggested Giallo Wine Bar - a place that he had always wanted to try but never had the chance to.
Lovely environment. Service was amazing they were very intune with where we were up to with our drinks and food at all times. Food was superb - pork belly so tender but crisp on top, duck beautiful, my favorite was the fish and tuna (we shared the plates) Oh and dessert- creme brulee soooo creamy.
Sensational food! Such lovely people, great service. Lovely intimate setting. Was a great choice for our work Christmas dinner. Absolutely recommend highly!
Delightful ambience - tucked away in Kent Town and deserving of better patronage. Delicious food and impressive wine list but on the pricey side. Not a cheap night out but a very pleasant one.
Staff were great. Reason for not giving 5 stars is that the pasta was tough and the food took too long to come out.
Complimentary bread and oil while ordering was appreciated.
Perfectly taken care of: excellent food, great wine selected by the owner Goran, looked after very well by him and his wife Maya. You pay for what you get - excellence. One Michelin Star!

Top night at Giallo.
In Adelaide for a holiday that was made extra special by a visit to Giallo. The atmosphere, service, food and wine cellar were all first class and Goran and Maya made us feel like family by the end of the night. Couldn't recommend Giallo more highly :) Paul, Ingrid, Mark, Greg and Jen
