Review Ora Specialty Coffee - Kew

Choc Pudding
I like the location and the outdoor area at the front. It was charming little cafe at the intersections of the streets. I was surprised with how small the menu is. I cant remember which brekky roll I picked but it was beautifully made. The relish was soo yum and everything else is just great. Mocha was a tad bitter but other than that staff was so friendly and let us sat there for a long time. Definitely a great place to sit and chat.
Judy Kelly
Small, clean, quaint interior, front outside seating also. Coffee, Almond Latte, double ristretto was good strength. Normal shot, would be weak for people who like a stronger coffee hit. Poached eggs on GF bread was nice. Bircher Muesli was good.
Craig Lawrence
Great little spot in Kew. A no fuss cafe that has really good scrambled eggs on sourdough. The side of mushrooms was also super tasty. The espresso was well made and full of flavour. What would be good is to see a few more options for breakfast. Either way, we'll be back.
Elliot Jackson
Delicious sandwiches & great coffee. Staff were really nice & the place never felt over crowded.
David De Garis
Met for a date & only had coffees but owner asked us to leave after 25 mins, as he wanted to turn over the table. Appalled & would never go back. Coffee excellent & service great by the staff

Ora Kew - Cafe & Smokehouse has very nice outdoor and indoor seating areas and it even had a small kids' play area at the back. The staff were fabulous and friendly. The coffee and the food were amazing. I would definitely be back.

As a Kew local, I’ll definitely be back! Warm hospitality, prompt service and big points with me when it’s dog friendly!! It was a 22 degree day so we enjoyed the outdoor area. I had a delicious chai latte and the French toast which is from their new menu! My friend had the shroom panzanella which I’ll come back for the next time! Plenty of parking along the streets and this cafe is slightly tucked away from the main busy street which is great! Some calm to enjoy your meal and linger to chat. Loved this little gem of a cafe!

Great coffee and yummy food. A great stop south of the river and easy access from freeway! Breakfast eggs beautifully cooked make a great light breakfast. The polenta chips were golden, tasty and crisp. Very pleasant outdoor street side area or a cosy indoor cafe style area. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking in surrounding streets.

Ora's coffee is one of the best in Kew area. I am not a big fan of sweets & cakes in general, but most of their sweets & cakes have great balance of texture and tastes. The lunch specials are great - "Spiced Tiffin Egg" is one of my favorites. The eggs are deep fired with a special crispy coat and the egg yolk is still nice and runny. The sauce on the side is unique and has great unique taste. Their special drink called Root beer is a must try as well. Unique taste of ginger beer mixed with Ram, it's awesome!! The waiter and waitress are extremely friendly and have a lovely yet dorky sense of humour. Highly recommended.
Yolanda Zhou
Food is amazing. There is always surprise in their specials. Really well designed dished with lots of new ingredients I've never tried before. I've told many my friends and highly recommend them to try.
Tania Ladbrook
You can always rely on a great coffee at Ora. Takeaway or have in it's always perfect. Staff are friendly & treat everyone like a regular. A must experience if you haven't already #coffeelover #luvalatte

I caught up with dear friend this morning and this venue was chosen because it was the mid point from both areas. It was a great move ..the staff are friendly, it's easy to park and the cafe is child friendly. The food is fresh and very well presented. Worth the visit for sure .

Visited here in August, whilst on trip to see brother and his family, from the UK. A great, small and intimate coffee place - the ice cold drip coffee was fabulous! Not back in Oz until June 2017, but will be making another visit (or more!) to you then.

I went here Sunday for the first time and have already got plans to go back. The menu was amazing and what I finally did end up deciding to order did not disappoint! The staff were helpful and friendly and even though it was packed and a cue of people we didn't feel like we were being rushed out. The baked goods are amazing and as we saw them coming fresh from the kitchen we had to make room for some. Overall outstanding doesn't describe this well enough!

Awesome coffee and service with a smile A great source of my daily caffeine injection!

A fantastic "local" for us while we stay in Kew. Thanks Guys well done. PS I do love the Gellato - Brain Freeze - Wonderful.

Best coffee and service in town 7days a week! Great work Phil and the Ora team!

Excellent quality, service and selection of gourmet meals makes this place our regular go-to cafe. To top it off, Coffee is brilliant too.
Harriet Wakelam
Love love love this cafe. The food... Unique, yummy, exciting... The coffee... Perfect... The staff, always welcoming.. No too cool for coffee baristas here... But everyone can talk to you about the food and coffee.. And even better its a great place to sit and they're kind to kids, dogs and old ladies... Thanks guys for reminding Kew of what a cafe should be...

Awesome atmosphere, great food, friendly staff... And Excellent coffee!!!

Outstanding breakfast. I can't wait to go back for more.

The spiced tiffin eggs was delicious. Simple cafe with interesting menus.
Helen Paleologos
What can I say, everything I order is amazing. As for the coffee - perfection.
Kirsty Breen
The best coffee, food and service in town!

Had a fantastic experience here<br/>Place is buzzing <br/>Heaps of walkers, great outdoor space which was convenient as we brought the dog<br/>Service was friendly and quick<br/>Coffee was hot, and very tasty<br/>Food order was taken quickly and subsequently brought out quickly<br/>Every flavour combined brilliantly<br/>Can’t wait to go back!

Had a really pleasant lunch at Ora. Service is friendly and the food is delicious. See photos below.  Love the ice coffee, especially on a sunny day.  Great flavour.

“Meh” pretty much sums up my experiences here. The only thing not ‘meh’ is the coffee which is bad. Look - if you’re after a burger and chips then go for it. If you want something more sophisticated and tasty - go next door to Willsmere Station.
Sunny Days Melbourne
I had high hopes walking in here but unfortunately, it was overall underwhelming. <br/><br/>The pork jowl was too rich for my liking. The mini ora was palatable but not particularly tasty. There was a promising array of desserts but sadly the taste was nothing to write home about. The highlight was probably the coffee. <br/><br/>The waiters on this particular day seemed to struggle to get our order right. What can I say? Ora was just alright.
The Brunchabout Diaries
Ora has really yummy food with lovely seating both inside and out. I got the Romesco Eggs with prosciutto. The meal was delicious - it was sort of like a weird version of an eggs Benedict so it was a nice change up to the usual. However, my one criticism is that the meal was a bit light on for the price - my friend and I were both a little hungry after.

Driving past and saw Ora Cafe. Very pleased we stopped. Great coffee choices and quick, tasty food service. Good smaller options for food as well.
Ellen
The coffee at Ora is some of the worst I've tasted. I couldn't have two sips of my almond latte before throwing it out. So disappointing. I tried it a couple more times and asked friends how the regular lattes were. The same, sour and burnt.
Vanessa
This cafe doesn’t hold many seats so when we came in around 2pm on a weekday, we didn’t have many options but to sit down on a communal table between other people. It was a bit awkward looking around the room and at the interior decorations because we didn’t want those around us thinking we were staring at them. Also, it’s hard not to listen to other people’s conversations… Anyway, luckily the staff are friendly and attentive, making our experience a little better. The coffee was really tasty; rich and smooth. The food was pretty average though. (The menu was limited as well). We ordered the ‘warm bowl’ which was plain and needed extra fruits or something with flavour. The ‘french toast’ had interesting ingredients all on one dish - some worked and some didn’t. It’s a shame that we didn’t see the board on the wall with the day’s special... it sounded a lot more promising than the other options on the actual menu. It’d be nice if the staff can tell guests what’s on the special in the future… By the way, finding parking is a challenge.
Two Sheds
It’s a flat 3 for me. I made a special trip here and am unfortunately struggling to see what justifies the current healthy rating for this place.<br/><br/>It struck me as a fairly basic inside space here. I couldn’t see anything that jumped out as particularly impressive. The outdoor area at the front is quite pleasant though and a number of people were taking advantage of it on a cool, still sunny day.<br/><br/>I was really surprised by what I thought was a limited menu here. The choices for breakfast or brunch seemed very limited to me and I quickly decided that a design your own breakfast with eggs was my best option.<br/><br/>I ordered and the breakfast came. Poached eggs with avocado, kale and bacon. The bacon struck me as measly. Three shriveled up rashers for $5. No special flavour in it at all. It could have been Coles brand bacon for all I could tell. On the good side, the seeded bread was lovely, the eggs very nicely cooked and I think the kale was the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere. It wasn’t soggy and still had a bit of give, which was nice. The avocado was good as well.<br/><br/>Details matter though. This was my second serve of this dish. I had to send the first one back as they’d served the wrong toast, sourdough not seeded as I’d specifically ordered. I love my seeded. The manager was quick to apologise which was impressive but it was still mildly irritating and the error cost me 10-15 minutes.<br/><br/>Details matter and there were a few of those awry today. Another one - and yes, I’m being picky - was the glass was hot from the dishwasher when the water was served on arrival. Your never after water warmed by a hot glass, rather you want cool water in a cool glass.<br/><br/>The coffee here was just ok. It lacked length, I felt. The taste disappeared the moment you sipped it. Average to under par in my view.<br/><br/>So, overall an average experience hence the average score. Maybe it was just a one off, but I couldn’t see anything particularly special here today hence the middling score.

Visited this cafe for weekend brunch. Parking can be a challenge! Seats are limited so be sure to arrive before the brunch wave ie before 10. Menu isn't quite kid-oriented, not much options for the little ones. They had a little bun with scrambled eggs that the kids fortunately liked. <br/><br/>The lamb roll I had was decent. Wife felt the coffee was good. Not a place for long chats as they obviously needed the seats for new diners. YMMV but there might be better brunch places out there, given the pricing.

Ora cafe, I have heard much about you, all good things and to my pleasant surprise, you lived up to your reputation and you were fantastic! Busy, as always but still very attentive and helpful. Your staff were great, ensuring we had everything we needed and checked in on us a food amount of times. My girlfriend and I had the noodle dish with broth and it was amazing - egg cooked to perfection! Would I come back? 100%
Amy Z
We ordered the spiced egg and pumpkin fritters. I think they just recently renewed their menu, so few of the older dishes are no longer served.<br/>The eggs were nicely spiced with an Indian twist. It was definitely the highlight of the meal.<br/>As for the pumpkin fritters, we were pretty disappointed. The fritters tasted a bit too doughy and dry. My mum didn't enjoy it much at all. Due to this, I rated this place a bit lower. <br/>Overall, the atmosphere of the cafe was nice. It was full of people even on a very rainy and cold day.

Amazing cafe, a hidden gem - food is flavoursome, created with heart, soul and passion. Coffee is perfection. First visit was less than 2 weeks ago, and I’ve been back 3 times so far! Must try: lamb roll, beef burger, and shrooms 3 ways. <br/><br/>Upcoming regular... :)<br/><br/>P.S came this morning for the lamb roll, but was delightedly surprised that it still had 4 hours to go! I’ll be back soon to get it again ;)
Olivia
This is now one of my regular and favourite brunch places. The menu is very interesting, beautifully presented and something I haven’t come across before. On my last visit I took my Mum and sister who were visiting Melbourne, and they absolutely loved it also.<br/>During my last visit, I ordered the ‘Shrooms’ (photo attached) which is a must have for mushroom lovers like me. Oh, and coffee is great to!
Francesca
Delicious warm food probably the best I’ve ever had. <br/>We had the scrambled eggs with 4 extra. I had the sweet potato waffles with grilled pineapple. I am drooling thinking about it now. Cafe is small.
LindaDiosa
I haven’t had a chance to eat at Ora’s (yet) so this review is solely on the heavenly tasty Soy Chai Lattes I have had numerous times and also on their friendly and attentive customer service. <br/>It’s always a highlight to my morning whenever I get to come to this place to have my serve of their sweet creamy perfect Chai’s. <br/>Keep up the great work guys! Amazing little place!!

Ora cafe. Best donut and cup cake I had in Kew Melbourne. Nice pink cup cake and best chocolate donut in Kew. Highly recommended for a bite.
FoodieBear
The french toast is No 1 by my preference! Love how they present it and how they combine the flavor. Its not like other traditional ones which has a very sweet taste. Staffs are friendly, located in a quite little block, highly recommended! 👍

Sunday 27.08.17 at 11.30am. <br/>A nice little venue in Kew. <br/>The crab omelette 🦀 here was a real find. A luscious meal to rival most dishes. <br/>The coffees ☕️ were delightful and well presented.
Freddo
Really nice cafe. Great simple breakfasts and great for vegetarians but if you eat meat the black pudding is delicious and they make very good eggs and sides. If you would like a nice breakfast then I recommend it. Service is good but you can't take leftovers which is a bit annoying. All up it's a cool little cafe that works well.
Joan
Ok we may come a bit late for coffee but the man was friendly when we said that we wanted to sit in. Then my 4 year old with her chatty and curiosity personality asking question to the barista who was quite rude! Well to that girl which I think you know that I was also upset with your attitude if we knew that this will be the case, we wont be coming in for coffee.. and she is just 4 year old!! To the friendly man, thanks for your hospitality!
Violet
Great food and friendly staff!<br/>Had the mushrooms for breakfast, juicy and fresh.<br/>A cosy little cafe with amazing food. Will come back again.

Everything about Ora Cafe points to a bright future ahead in Melbourne's bustling cafe scene. <br/><br/>From quirky food items and drinks menu this is not your usual hipster cafe. To my surprise even though it was different it was still a nice enough combination that most people would enjoy. The variety entails individuals such as myself to try some different combinations which are often not thought about as common lunch/breakfast items.<br/><br/>The portion sizes and prices are extremely reasonable as well and you will definitely leave satisfied. <br/><br/>Recommended for locals that's for sure!
Harry Bordonaro
A real local favorite, menu constantly impresses, very helpful ans friendly staff. Great seasonal ideas and always leave satisfied. Hope to see them around for a long time, highly recommend!
Ricotta Hotcake Lover
Really disappointed. I had scrambled eggs on sourdough and a flat white. Originally I ordered a soy cappuccino but it curdled and I had to send it back due to the bitter taste. Ora Cafe replaced it with a flat white with milk at no cost and didn't charge me for the soy cappuccino at my request because I wasn't going to risk another bad coffee but it was extremely weak. <br/><br/>The eggs on sourdough okay, but I has a sore stomach afterwards and finding a clean public toilet is no easy task. Not the best way to spend the day. Would not go again.
Expensive Delicious Habit.
Ora had been on my list for literally years so I was excited to finally check it out! Just a word to the wise- there is a cafe called Aura in Doncaster. Just be clear on which one you're meant to be visiting!. We only had to wait for 5 mins before we were shown to a communal table. We started with coffees (of course), which were mild and smooth. This is an old-school brunch place which has stood the test of time. Nothing super innovative but a nice cafe nonetheless.

Seriously one of the best breakfast places in the area. The menu is small but every dish is really different and amazing. The cafe is quite small so get there early to get a seat !

We've been here from day 1 that it's opened and the customer service, food and coffee has never disappointed. I have to say this is my favourite breakfast joint.

I came here on a morning break from work and ordered take away coffee and some sweets. This place has a nice relaxed feel with very friendly staff and the coffee was superb. This will be my new coffee place for morning tea and look forward to trying something from the food menu soon. Well done.
Nicbec
Coffee was pretty good and the service was great. I'll definitely come back and check it out again. There wasn't much seating though. Tried the donut and that was pretty delicious.
Afaq Khan
Great coffee, excellent food, fantastic staff and great ambience. This Cafe, although away from the main shops, is always full of customers, for obvious reasons. I highly recommend it.

Small brunch spot near my home and we came a Sunday morning and it was packed! We waited 15 min and seated with welcome. Waiter is quite attentive and nice. My friend ordered special beef dish which turned out the highlight. My mushroom brekkie was also nice which I love the cheese best~
Karla Herschell
Yummy food and cute cafe. I had the king mushroom (menu slightly different to the picture currently here). It was beautifully presented but lacking a bit of flavour...it came with a large serving of cheese that I honestly found quite flavourless and then topped with some Parmesan but there wasn't enough!
Gina Yin
Very nice and cossy little cafe in Kew! <br/> Ordered "the warm bowl" with beautiful simple presentation and delicious! But be mindful it's sweet for person like me, who do not normally have sweets. <br/>"clay pot eggs" my little girl's favorite! Savory dish, good potion and yummmm! <br/>"duck & pistachio sausage" good combination of all the ingredients! Some even from asian cooking ingredient!
Zac
A really high quality cafe in the middle of suburbia. Great coffee, lovely and inventive food and nice service. Couldn't ask for me. Also very considerate with young children.

Ora Specialty Coffee is a hidden gem within suburban Kew that strives to provide an exceptional café experience for all customers. Since taking over from the previous owners, current owner Phil has cemented Ora’s reputation as being a place that provides great coffee and food full of flavour, in a small venue with a local feel. Speaking with Phil, it is clear how much he loves what he does, and loves what he can provide for his customers. Something that he strongly believes in, and that he instills in his staff, is that hospitality comes first. From the friendly welcome you receive when walking through the door, to the attentive and genuine service when sitting down, a lot of cafes would do well to follow in Ora’s footsteps.

Had to pleasure of having breakfast at Ora cafe. Went back for more three more times. Fantastic place, great food, awesome staff ! Looking forward to next time!

Brilliant, the best eggs i've ever had. Came down for a trip to melbourne for 5 days, already had their eggs 3 times already. Would definitely recommend!
Sotasty
One of the best breakfast/brunch cafe's I have ever been to. Interesting and delicious food. A fairly small menu but it's all quality here. Great service and lovely staff.
SA
Can't fault this little gem. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Delicious and complex flavour pairings. The service was excellent too!
Foodgrubbie
The coffee here is great. Would recommend the iced coffee here in particular. Small store with quick service. Food was generous and definitely didnt lack flavour. Just fresh and simple ingredients cooked well.
EatMeMelbourne
Well what an unexpectedly nice find in Kew! Dropped by with my partner and were quickly seated at the communal table. Service was basic and pleasant (no frills), but nothing was lacking. The food was original and tasty - worth a repeat visit, which in Melbourne's competitive brunch scene is definitely saying something. Had poached eggs with side of broad beans and bacon, the claypot eggs, and polenta + parmesan chips. Ora mini is great for little ones the want brunch too! Looking forward to trying more next time.
Travelling Palate
What a delicious, unique menu. However those with a more traditional palate need not fear, as the menu still contains Melbourne's standard brunch offerings. I, opted for the fricasse and mushroom duxelle, goat's curd artichoke mayo and artichoke chips. Oh my goodness what a delightful dish, beautifully balanced and filling. Thoroughly recommend!!!
Sherena Ng
Ora cafe has successfully managed to create a very memorable experience from mastering this traditionally simple breakfast. The scrambled eggs were buttery, creamy and was cooked to perfection. We also recently tried their autumn/winter menu and it was absolutely delicious! Every single dish deserved praise, so make plans to head there multiple times to try the entire menu because it's that good! If you've never been, start off with their scrambled eggs, you'll never go wrong with that. ;)

What a great conversion from the Japanese fusion place ... <br/><br/>Perfect location, near the Freeway exit, easy parking, still quaint, simple, casual looks, great team running the floor.<br/><br/>One of the leading Cafe in Kew easily, simple, killer Menu and coffee is 3,5/4 out of 5.<br/><br/>It has all the elements.
Dimzib
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food that was served here. The duck sausage and mushroom dishes are delicious!<br/><br/>The staff were welcoming, and the cafe had a cozy yet sophisticated feel to it. The coffee was good, but not outstanding. I am eager to return and try more dishes if they are like the last one we had.
Khatton11
Terrible! <br/>Ate here about a week ago after about a year break <br/>Perhaps owners changed ??<br/>First let down was tried to order cheese on toast for my 5 year old while me and the man had quick lunch. No can do ! And they weren't polite about it. <br/>Usually I can always find something for the child. Nothing. (And how hard is it to put a piece of cheese on bread and charge my $9 bucks ???)<br/>So pressed on and ordered my lunch. <br/>Ordered cauliflower salad which was so disappointing. Expecting way more cauliflower than leaves. Could have counted the very small florets one less than one hand. <br/>Was extremely salty and inedible. Over engineered. <br/>The waiter asked how everything was when collecting plates. I advised not great as he took my half eaten meal.<br/>He didn't ask why. <br/>Sad<br/><br/>
Ashley
I was very impressed with this tiny cafe! Came on a rainy day a couple of weeks ago, the staff were super friendly and attentive , their choice of music was excellent and my meal, despite being a tad too salty, was very enjoyable
Lorli
This is a small & laid back cafe with a clean & straight forward decor. The coffee is good and the food are simple but nice. The Ora biggie came with fluffy scramble eggs inside a brioche bun.
Sharna Hill
This is a nice cafe in Kew the coffee's good, the service exceptional. I found the menu to be a little too simplified lacking some of the Melbourne classics one has become accustomed to. In fairness I was famished when I went here so perhaps that clouded my judgement. I will return as a result of the lovely staff.
P.Peaches
Menu is seasonal so everytime I come there's a new dish to try - yet ALWAYS satisfying!! Service is top notch as well - so friendly & helpful! Highly recommend this place!
Carb Queen
I went to Kew to pick up a few groceries, I looked across the road to find a quaint cafe and thought I'd treat myself to a midweek breakie out. I was thrilled with the "non meat" choices on the menu. I ordered the Tiffin eggs and wow it was amazing!! Everything on the plate was flavour and texture. YUM! Coffee was great. I can't wait to come back to try the other things on the menu
Kylie Angelika
Visited here on Saturday for brunch and were lucky enough to get a table. Boy oh boy am I glad we were...it was one of the most delicious breakfast I have had! I surprisingly ordered the mushroom dish, even though I would never ever choose mushrooms as they're not my favourite food in the world. But this dish was so hearty and full of flavour (and not an overpowering mushroom flavour weirdly) I was so wrapt that I listened to the waitresses advice. Coffee was great, and the staff were lovely. Cannot wait to return!
Ye Liu
Went there at 10 in a Saturday morning, not very crowded. Ordered tiffin egg, which is a very unique dish among all the other dishes in the branch. I like flavour combination in it, and the egg is cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend that.
Spring Stripes
Ora has terrific service. Staff were friendly and patient so coming to Ora would be a great place to catch up on a weekend over coffee. You wouldn't feel like you'd get kicked out after finishing your meal. The food is disappointing in regards to the price you pay. Quantity wise - it's not big servings even for a $17-$20 dish. The mini breakfast burger was quite salty (due to the meats) but the scrambled egg was absolutely delicious. My favourite part!
Ross Crisp
ORA in KEW.  A little gem, so little its just a tad larger than its kitchen.   Also, has a small menu. But, its fantastic. Recommend a long black with spiced tiffin eggs.
Angel Khong
Lovely spot for brunch; delicious prawn toast, delicious pork belly, both nicely portioned, and great coffee! Would definitely come back again.
Juanlin
First time here, picked it as we were around the area and it was one of the cafes with the best reviews (4.5). The menu changes every season so unfortunately some of the nice dishes we saw on zomato weren't available. The toast for my Dad's soup was a bit burnt for his liking and so was the bun for my burger. Overall the coffee redeemed itself for the rating as it was pretty good. Barista was super nice and even let us have a taster of the filtered coffee for free. Staff are definitely one of the friendliest around.
Hilda Lee
Came to Ora today with high expectations, but I walked away feeling disappointed. Firstly I have to say that service there is exceptional - one of the best cafe services I've experienced. Staff were friendly, didn't push you to order and were attentive in changing water, taking our order and taking away used plates. The cafe itself was also small and cosy. However the food and coffee was very average. Coffee had very little froth, and was lacking that sweetness I crave. I got the tiffin egg and it was basically a slice of bread, a few small pieces of tasteless potatoes, a crusted egg, some onion jam, sour cream and an oily dukkah dressing (which didn't have much taste). The dish was just missing something, something to cut through the fat (eg. Vegetables) and some kind of additional flavor. The crusted egg was the best part of the dish, but even then it didn't taste spectacular, just a strong cumin taste. The dish as a whole lacked flavor and just didn't go together - it was like a bunch of random ingredients thrown together. My friend ordered the ora mini and she said it was nice, although on the small side and egg was tad salty. I may have been more understanding if the food was cheaper - but for $18 per dish and $4 per coffee, they're charging similar to a lot of outstanding brunch places but with small and average tasting food. Overall I walked away in satisfied and will not be back or recommend to anyone - however I will give it a positive review due to the lovely service I received.
Hungry_mememel
Exceptionally friendly staff, great service, Mork hot chocolate, great coffee.. not to mention the delicious food! Wagyu burger! <br/>Bit difficult to fit a pram in, as it's quite a small cafe and quite busy.
Alex Lin
Recommended by friend, worth trying. A nice cafe near the street with not big but warm environment. I tried the special tiffin eggs it is great. My friend ordered the summer malon dish which I didn't tried but it looks really nice.
Sarah
Faultless. The best coffee and friendliest service in Kew. I tried their pea fritters awhile back and hope they return to the menu soon because they were delightful! Thank you Ora.
Food Comatose
This humble cafe is quite small and intimate but the wall of windows and strategic lighting broaden the space. The simple wooden furnishings and minimalist style underline a straightforward attitude, offering what we all came here for – good food and good coffee. It was a particularly busy Saturday morning when we visited so we were wedged among a row of people on the front bench overlooking the street in front of us. The staff were very apologetic about this situation but it was short lived and I happily unfolded my elbows across the table as our close neighbours left! The staff were very friendly and attentive and our orders arrived promptly.
Guzzling
I came here the other day and can definitely say that it was one of my favourite cafe meals. I ordered the tiffin eggs (of course) and they did not disappoint. The flavours are strongly middle eastern throughout the dish and the serving portion is huge. However, my friend ordered the French toast and was pretty underwhelmed by both the flavours and portion size (minus 0.5). There is also a delicious array of sweets at the counter which we couldn't just pass by. Coffee is wonderful and the service is honestly outstanding. Smiles all round and genuine enjoyment to be working there.
Shoo Shoo
Ora seems to be a well known cafe in the area and always has customers regardless of the time or day. It's quite small, so it can be a bit tough getting a seat on the weekend. The staff are engaging & relaxed and you can see why people enjoy spending their time here. The coffee is great too.<br/><br/>Today I decided to try the rum and raisin clafoutis. I had no idea what a clafoutis was, but I assumed it was going to be sweet as it was topped with stewed fruits & a vanilla mascarpone. Ended up being a flan/cake that's cooked in the dish.<br/><br/>As a whole it was a lot to get through - it's a pretty rich dish. I'm going to need to lay down afterwards! I also was easily swayed into trying their earl grey iced tea, which was delicious.<br/> <br/>I've heard talk about their prawn toast before, but it was either not on the menu or I completely missed it (I was hoping to try it). I've been here a couple of times - tried the French toast & the tiffin eggs. The tiffin eggs are different to the standard breakfast. There's a strong herby flavor that's interesting & addictive. It's got lots of interesting textures & flavors too. It's a very unique spin on an egg-based dish - would recommended giving it a try.
The Tastebud
I am a Kew local and Ora take away coffee regular. They do superb coffee. Always spot on.<br/>I had a spare moment to myself this morning so I decided to sit in and order a dish. It has been a while since I have dined in.<br/>I ordered the French toast brioche with passion fruit curd, halva and drizzle. Passion fruit curd was impeccable. However there was something missing in this dish...I still can't my finger on what it is. Although very pretty it was a tad mediocre. <br/>I usually walk away from Ora blown away by what I have eaten. However, today- I was a little disappointed I had forked out $18 for the dish. <br/><br/>I guess you don't win them all!<br/>Never the less, I will be back....
Josh Jackson
This place would have to be one of the most expensive over rated cafes in Melbourne. The serving sizes are ridiculously small and so overpriced. The large coffee is now $5. The last couple of times I've ordered a takeaway coffee, the cup was only half full.  I mean seriously guys, stop ripping your customers off.
Sean Wilson
Ora is a quaint little cafe with a small yet perfected menu. The coffee is strong, the food is fresh and the service very attentive. Highly recommended.
N For Nutella
Highly recommend! We tried spicy chicken wings to share, eggs on toast with custom added sausages & bacon. Then we also ordered the pork belly special which was delicious and so juicy! Waiters were so friendly as well!

Cozy and lovely cafe located in a quiet suburban area. Friendly and warm service. We enjoyed the coffee and had a relaxed family time. Will try one of those beautiful desserts next time!

Went for Saturday lunch. Cosy yet cool space. Staff were welcoming and seemed to know most clientele so must be popular with locals. Coffees hit the mark. We ate the tiffin eggs which was a spicy and nutty take on the scotch egg with perfect kipfler potatoes and a charred toast that took me straight to Mumbai. The trout was refreshing and well balanced. We finished off diving into a warm and gooey dish of clafoutis with a nice dollop of ice cream. Left feeling full and happy. Will be coming back and I'm sure they'll remember my name.

Ordered the French toast. The serving size was small and even though I am not a big fan of honey in sweets, I didn't mind it with the small serve of sugared brioche, yummy passionfruit curd and a sprinkling of Halva. Service was good; the waiter appearing flat out and kind of anxious to seat me correctly in the small place. Ambience is nothing special, yet it is airy and a bit warm on a hot day. I found the French toast expensive at $18 and I skipped a coffee. Anyhow it is nice for locals and Kew definitely needs more quality cafes.
Coffee And Food
Long time we didn't come here. Cafe changed hand a year ago. Owner was so nice but can see all floor staff a little nervous. Mork chocolate and storm in a teacup are being offered in house as well. Food was just ok as felt that is a tad oily. Coffee has the right temperature and that's what I like.

Never disappointed cafe and breakkie! We've been here several times after dropping off, ordered different breakfast, never disappoint. The only one thing is that the chocolate powder on cappuccino is 75% coco, which is bit bitter, but still nice.

The food was of high quality and came out very quickly! It was a tad overpriced however and the menu could do with some more items on it. Eggs on toast was $9 but to add bacon it's $5 and that's just a bit ridiculous.

Worst ever soy flat white (take away)!!!! 1/3 froth on top which is more like cap without chocolate. Burnt coffee and boiled soy milk, sorry to say that but it's undrinkable. Needed more love for take aways. (please!) Wasted money.

Who'd have thought we would find such a treasure in Kew. Food fresh and delicious, service exceptional, space small but perfectly formed. The Portuguese tarts on Friday's are dying-for delicious.

Today was sunny with cool breeze in the morning, got here at 10am, the cafe was already bustling. Friendly and efficient staff. Food was pleasant - I ordered the tiffin egg with Kepler potato. Ice coffee was nice served with ice cream and a few coffee beans on top to enhance flavour. Overall a good experience, will be back to try more different dishes. <br/>On the side note: a couple sitting next to me didn't get to try their salad yesterday and was back today to try it, maybe their salad is also one of their signature? Shall check out again next week before they change their summer menu. ;)

This hidden little gem tucked away in the back streets of Kew not far from the Eastern Freeway, operates on the same site as the very popular Japanese restaurant Ocha used to be many years ago. It's situated in a tucked away little village with the usual standard fare of a newsagent, pharmacy, laundromat and small supermarket that look well loved by the Kew locals. <br/>Ora is a fabulous café to have as your local coffee shop, with a bustling hive of activity happening when I was there to meet a friend for a late breakfast. This is a small café and there's a choice of a communal table & a few other scattered tables and a couple of benches out on the path out the front for you to sit. It's nice and cosy without being cramped. <br/><br/>The menu is small & concise with a range of egg dishes like 'Spiced Tiffin Egg' which had a Kasundi as a garnish and a 'Ora Mini' which included scrambled egg, bacon and sausage and a gorgeous fruit dish, 'Summer Melon' which was a sea of beautiful pinks and red melons surrounded with a granola chia crumble. The coffee was great, including the decaf and they were able to make me my favourite Almond Milk Decaf Latté, so full ticks for having Almond Milk. <br/>We didn't have room this time for their delicious looking cakes that were in a glass cabinet in the counter, but I was reliable informed that they are all made in-house by their chef. There was a chocolate cup cake that was definitely calling me back for next time! <br/>My friend and I were very busy chatting, but our coffee's and meals came out very quickly and the service was very efficient. <br/>I would definitely return to Ora as the small lunch menu looked really interesting. Another good thing was that the parking was easy! <br/><br/>Cost: $40 for 2 people <br/>Coffee: excellent. <br/>Service: excellent <br/>Convenience: perfect if your a local.

Coffee is on point. One bad thing and only disappointment was when I ordered my eggs on toast they were over cooked ( like hard, and took over 30 mins, but it was busy and they are a small cafe), but none the less tasty. When I am driving through to the Chandler Hwy through kew I will pop in each time for a Coffee without doubt and highly recommend this place.
Let’s Eat!
We come here every Sunday with our dog Harry (who is always welcome) and sometimes in between!<br/>I think it's a little difficult to find places at this level in the burbs and feel lucky enough to live walking distance from this place.<br/>It's always buzzing, has great beats, but most importantly the food, service and coffee are consistently fantastic!!!<br/>A fabulous place and amazing team that simply must be commended on what they do here. <br/>This little gem is on point with their menus offering up beautifully plated, seriously tasty and impressive food!<br/>So much more than a cafe!<br/>I love this place and look forward to the food and friendly smiles every Sunday.<br/>For me, if this place had a theme song it could be the one from Cheers!<br/>:-))))

This has to be one of my favourites! The staff are very welcoming , the food never disappoints ( I always get the ora mini when I'm in a bit of a hurry ) , the coffee is sensational and hands down the best coffee you'll get in the suburb of Kew. Happy to call this my local cafe!
Out And About
Great little cafe serving excellent coffee (a compliment I pay very rarely). They have an awesome see-through coffee machine and a good atmosphere.

Our fav place. The staff are lovely, the coffee is seriously good and the menu is to die for. Seasonal menu which is unique and consistently good. Well done Ora, we love you.
AJ
Can't fault Ora at all. Always great coffee and food (LFC burger is my fav), great place for a cold beer in the arvo, but the best thing about this place is the service and staff!

Coffee is great! Food is ok, well presented just felt like something was missing? I ordered the pork roll, I think if coriander was added as the fresh herb rather than the dill it would've been better and also some chilli sauce. Also had the French toast, found it was more soggy raisin bread, the whipped peanut butter however was beautiful.<br/>Good service also.

I really like you guys. I think you guys deserved more awards. I believe consistency is the key to success in the hospitality industry and this guy knows it. Since day one and now they are always consistent. The coffee is good, friendly service, unique menu and the staff are passionate about their job.

Consistent coffee and a simple menu. Love their mini Ora burger. It's a very neat and compact place - perfect for a catch up with people living on either side of the Eastern Freeway

Barista is fantastic! Friendly and know coffee has recommended blends which I think shows he knows coffee well, tried duck roll which was beautiful pork was a bit dry , apple and cinnamon donuts got fingers down from family. Apart from the Barista other staff a bit  to rigid.<br/><br/>Will defiantly make this the regular while in Kew.
BigSmiles
Brilliant. Menu was a touch hard to break down but I thought that was a positive, makes a talking point with the staff and you leave with a little more food knowledge! Meals are on the smaller side here, perhaps offer some sides? Overall great food, service & experience.

This is a small cafe tucked at a corner away from Kew Junction. As a tourist with no car, it was 20 mins walk down suburban road but it was totally worth it.<br/><br/>Service was very good and friendly with water provided instantly and coffee order taken. <br/><br/>I ordered the prawn toast as I have read the reviews and man I was blown away!! The toast was thick and crunchy, and the flavours were so fresh and light, which complemented the prawn and buttery toast really well. Highly recommend. I definitely wished I could have tried the spiced tiffin egg. Next time!! <br/><br/>My coffee was not dry enough for a cappuccino, hence the slight markdown in rating.<br/><br/>But overall, great find in Kew :)
Filled With Food
Ora Cafe is one of my all time favourites. It is on the smaller side but it is very homely and inviting. Arriving around 2pm on a Sunday, the cafe was relatively quiet with a few other customers eating their way through the food. There was no background music so it’s perfect for those long DNMs. The staff were friendly but it did take a while for them to come and take our orders. Nevertheless, the menu had a small tantalising selection of meals!

Came in here for breakfast this morning. We were seated quickly, even though the cafe was busy.<br/><br/>The menu looked  interesting and I decided to order the Prawn Toast. The food arrived not long after and I was very impressed with what was served. Together all the flavours worked very well. I don't think I've ever had prawns for breakfast, but with the avocado and the egg, it was delicious.<br/><br/>I tried a few of my friends meals, all of them were good but the highlight was the Spiced Tiffin Egg. Very tasty.<br/><br/>Coffee here was also very good.<br/><br/>Only let down is how small the place is, it felt very cramped with the four of us on a very small table.

This place is fantastic! Coffee is superb and food is excellent. Had the bacon and eggs/sausage....best I've had in a while. Service is pretty good as well. The place is a bit cramped so nice and cosy.
DAMMIT JANET I LOVE FOOD
...The toast was a bit too thick for my liking, while the vegetables reminded me of those you find in bánh mì (Vietnamese pork rolls). Overall: Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, small unique menu.
AH
Really liked Ora! The service is reasonable enough (not the most friendly but not the worst), but most importantly, the food is delicious! My only issue with the Pulled Lamb Salad was that it was perhaps a little bit too cold, as the yogurt that it was mixed through had been just taken out of the fridge. But, I will definitely be back to try the Tiffin Egg!

Amazing breakfast the rice pudding is a must try, purely for how it's platted up. Great coffee. Will come back next time we are in the area.
