Review Mr Bianco - Kew

Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Absolutely love this place and highly recommend it! Service is impeccable and atmosphere intimate and cosy. Kind regards, Brigitte

Support your local businesses during lockdown. Visit them and buy a bit more. Before we lose all of local shops that's doing it really tough. Hopefully they then can employ the hospitality workers and so on. Very clever adaptation when we can't have a sit down and eat. Yummy sausages, steak sandwiches and doughnuts.

Always amazing, food, tasty, quality ingredients and well presented. A trip to Melbourne is not complete if l dont stop in here for dinner, the staff and chefs where possible cater and match both meals and drinks to your palette. We normally have the four course tasting menu, it allows us to try plates we may not normally order and you have the option of accompaning matched wine. Never had a plate that l have not enjoyed. The staff are always delightful, friendly and engaging. More than happy to discuss your likes and dislikes to try please your palette. Recommend booking to ensure you get a seat as it is a busy restaurant.

Upon arrival staff were pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is small and felt very cramped and is not suitable for a wheelchair or pram. Menu has only 3 - 5 options in each category. The most disappointing part was the food was so bland. The $36 duck ragu was literally pasatta with a few herbs and pasta, no duck to be seen. And the $14 side of broccoli with lemon and olive oil, was missing the lemon or any seasoning and reminded me of the frozen stuff from my childhood. My husband had $45 beef cheeks, that were acceptable but nothing amazing. We didn’t end up ordering dessert as we sat and waited for our table to be cleared for over 20 minutes and was only offered dessert or coffee after we asked for the bill. I would understand if they were busy or short staffed, but the restaurant was half empty by this time and staff were more interested in singing happy birthday to the gentleman at the next table. Overall disappointing and we won’t be returning.

Great staff, great food! Interesting style of gnocchi preparation, but the sauce was delectable. Barramundi skin was nice and crispy, which myself and guest thoroughly enjoyed. (I don't even eat seafood that often but this was a MUST). Did not follow special instructions as exactly asked, but the service was excellent. Gin & Tonic (Tanqueray base) was balanced and added quality to the dinner. Convenient parking location.

Rating 4.5 We finally made it to Mister Bianco, a Sicilian restaurant that has been on my dining wish list for some time now. Front of house, Alex and Maurizio (the knowledgable wine guy), looked after us impeccably on our journey through the Menu della Casa. The dishes and flavours were seriously impressive and the pasta, hand-made by legend pasta maker Alessia, was next level. It's lovely to dine in an environment where you feel the enthusiasm of the staff who are proud to present Mister Bianco, and so they should be! The entire experience was magnifico, grazie!

One of the best experience for 4 courses lunch! Good food and services, friendly staff and creative menu, you need to be very hungry to be able to finish all the dishes! Definitely coming back!

We've been coming here occasionally in the last two years. Service is always pretty good, food can be hit and miss sometimes - this visit is quite good. Pasta has nicely cooked, seafood is quite fresh.

Another great celebration at Mr Bianco. Exceptional service from Jayde: I requested a drink that wasn't on the list (Pimms punch) & she organized something similar to be created for me (& then 3 other guests who arrived and wanted what I was having). Kept her eye on things, even closed the door because she noticed a few people were cold. I worry when wait staff don't write down the order few can accurately recall multiple orders from seven people but she did - a true professional. But not one of those who has professional attitude that so unapproachable she had the right mix of friendliness chatting with us too & kept a smile on her face when the table got a little rowdy / were miscommunicating & she got caught in the middle. And as for the kitchen staff... my compliments! We chose Mr Bianco for a third time to celebrate a birthday because we knew you'd deliver! The freshly made bread rolls got us off to a great start, followed by arancini. Which reminds me you've got to get rid of those syringes. They're so off putting & I work for a Surgeon! I get it something different, ok express yourself but try a drop tube instead same concept less argh gross reaction. Where was I? Oh right, the meatballs, can't recall name of the dish with buffalo mozzarella (ask Jayde she'll remember). Then the calamari, squid ink spaghettini, gnocchi, etc. all a gastronomic delight. The only hiccup was one (out of two) who had the swordfish didn't like the sauce & the pork was found to be too fatty (oily), but because he enjoyed everything else so much it was overlooked. Normally he would have ripped the dish to shreds & you would've known about it. You know the type - chefs as customers they critique more than a food critic! Hence 4 stars (5 stars would mean everyone thought food service perfect). Another tip the louder the music, the louder the patrons especially after a few drinks. It's such a pleasurable experience when both front & back of house work together to create harmony. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to give my aunt a memorable birthday (& believe me she's had the worst). Look forward to next time!

What a gorgeous place to eat, beautiful artwork, music and lighting was exactly as should be, the FOH service was great! Most importantly the food was so delicious and looked amazing! Looking forward to coming back!

Very busy. Prompt food and good wait-staff. Food mostly unusual, which I liked for the novelty of it, BUT avoid the scotch fillet, which is below average.

Celebrated a birthday at Mr Bianco's restaurant last night . It was our first time and we were not disappointed. The menu was comprehensive, main courses varied and scrumptious and desserts to die for . The service was excellent. Our waitress was happy , attentive and very efficient. A great night .

Great new menu. Celebrated twin birthdays with 3 courses of 4 different meals- each one excellent! Will definitely return & would highly recommend, just make sure you book as it was completely full on a Monday night.

First time at Mr Bianco and it was an absolute pleasure. Waitresses (in particular the lady originally from a little town near Bergamo) are lovely and so caring, food was divine. I will be back for more and strongly recommend this place. Thank you

Their special lunch deal great value for the money. Food excellent, waitress great. Would definitely do that deal again.

Can not say much more than this restaurant has to be one of my absolute favorites . The most wonderful/tasty/professional food, staff & owner . Joe is the consummate professional. We have never had a bad meal here and I would highly recommend Mister Bianco to all. Have also been to Massi in the city (another of Joe's family) , another great experience .

A great experience, great feel and food. I was there for Father's Day and the set menu was a perfect balance of flavours. It wasn't my first visit and won't be my last!

Had a magnificent meal here for our Wedding Anniversary! Beautiful food and very attentive staff!
Ricky Williamson
Food and wine very good, service usually good but it was a busy night last time we went, it was a tad slow and just needed a boost. Great night though, will still be back. 👍🏼

Beautiful food, fantastic service and a great atmosphere. We will be back!

So glad to have finally dined at this restaurant and to go out for dinner after a long time of not being able to!!<br/><br/>We had a starter of bread with olive oil and salt. Three entrees; mushroom and cheese arancini, meat balls and cavatelli pasta with prawns and pea pesto. Four mains; three is wagyu osso bucco served with parsnips and chickpeas and wagyu porterhouse stake served with beetroot and artichoke. Then three sides of green beans, chips and eggplant parmigiana. Couldn’t fault any of the food we had, the flavours were amazing, and combination we have never tried before. The service is also very friendly and accommodating.<br/><br/>Highly recommend visiting this restaurant and I will definitely be back to try more!!
Brenda Blake
We got a superb selection of pasta and sauces, desserts and cold meats as a takeaway option. Beautiful things for our locked down situation.

Went there for a Friday lunch as was quite busy. Nice bistrot feel and décor. Tried the $39 2-Course Lunch Special which turned out to be good value with a glass of red or a beer. Waitering staff were very friendly and helpful. we had 6 half-shucked natural oysters with lemon for starters, and the Italian sausages for mains. Sides of Chips and Roquette Salad were an extra $8 each. Food was very tasty and well presented
An-Cheng Huang
Good atmosphere and good service from staff, friendly and provided advice on food. Food is good and the presentation was great but the taste is okay. Overall should try.

Will come back for:<br/>+ Fried Zuchinni Flower<br/>+ Squid ink Spaghettini<br/>+ Eye Fillet<br/>+ Soufflé<br/>+ Bom Alaska<br/><br/>The most impressive thing about this place is that it consistently delivers exceptional food and service over time. I have been here quite a few times over the years and have never had a bad experience. My favourite entree are their fried zucchini flowers (lightly fried, filled with ricotta and a great way to kick off the meal) and the squid ink spaghettini. Despite it’s look, the squid ink spaghettini is slightly sweet, moorish and served with well cooked and well seasoned seafood. The eye fillet was cooked perfectly too (medium and tender) and to round off the meal, we shared a soufflé and a Bom Alaska. The Bom Alaska had the drama, but our favourite was the soufflé. Light as a feather and not too sweet. Service was super quick today, despite a full Saturday service. Everyone was friendly and you can see that they care about your enjoyment. Bookings essential.

This little gem in Kew has been a favourite of mine since I first dined there. Always surprising me with delicious meals and new menus. The service has always been spot on, making sure all my needs are taken care of. I have always been pleasantly surprised and have always enjoyed my experience.

Tiramisu is a must have! Cozy lovely restaurant with authentic Italian food. The staff are mostly Italians and have given us very useful advice in choosing food and wine.

Really awesome dining experience. Came here for a friend’s birthday, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Plus they were very helpful with ordering entrees to share, and gave recommendations on mains. The burrata was a standout entree for me, and I also loved my main; which I shared the duck gnocchi and the beef cheeks. With a lovely cheese platter to end the night, I decided that I would definitely be coming back here again. Always a fan of Italian restaurants with homemade pasta!

Mister Bianco has been my restaurant of choice for many years. It just gets better with age. The food has really hit a high note and service has now got a new vibrant energy that is amazing to be sitting watching the waiters and Maurizio do their magic. It is a pleasure to make the booking and dine in a professional establishment. WELL DONE and continue your tireless work. thank you. love the new artwork and the octopus calamari dish..delish

Mister Bianco is a true stalwart of the Melbourne dining scene. The perfect destination to experience authentic Italian flavours and southern Italian inspiration, the menu is an amazing blend of modern European and traditional Italian influences, all spanning from owner and chef Joseph Vargetto’s heritage, style and vision. eclectic seasonal food trends.

Exceptional staff, beautiful food and drinks, great ambiance- definitely will be back!!!<br/><br/>My partner and I dined here for our anniversary dinner and we loved everything about this place! From the moment we were greeted til when we walked out the door, all the staff were friendly and delivered amazing service. We ordered the 4 course menu and it was great value for money with generous servings as we left very full and satisfied. Kudos to the chefs as all the dishes were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Special thanks to the whole team at Mister Bianco (wait staff and chefs) for making it a special night for us. The complementary drinks, extra touches to our dessert and well wishes was very much appreciated. We will be back and definitely will recommend Mister Bianco to all our friends and family! 😊

My friend picked this restaurant for dinner on Saturday. As I wasn’t familiar with Kew, I’m happy for her to pick a restaurant near her home and try something new. I have been warned that this restaurant is quite pricey but I’m happy to pay for a good meal. Dinner reservation was made at 630 pm and we were greeted by a very friendly waiter upon arrival. We were escorted upstairs and the waiter kindly offer his arm for me to hold on while walking up the steep staircase. I had set my mind for a nice Italian pasta when my friend told me we’re going to an Italian restaurant. However I was a little disappointed when I saw the menu, there are only 4 pasta options including risotto. Alas, I went with the seafood spaghetti but asked to swap the squid ink pasta with normal pasta. We also ordered the wagyu beef tartare as entree to share. The tartare flavour was too strong for our liking and whilst the pasta was tasty and cooked well, i find the pasta too thick for me. I had better pasta in other Italian restaurant. Probably will not return anytime soon.

We dined here last night and everything from the service to the food was exceptional! Thank you for ensuring we all had a great evening, looking forward to dining there again soon!

This is a nice restaurant. We came for lunch, our first time here, and will certainly be returning. Staff are very welcoming and attentive. The decor is tasteful and the ambience  very much in keeping with its Sicilian origins. We were most impressed with the flavours of our dishes, all of which were served in generous portions. We would have no hesittaion in recommending Mr Bianco.
I Love Food
Dined here on an awesome dimmi deal 50% off food. We had the pork donuts & zucchini flowers for entree. Highlight was the zucchini flower. I had the beef cheeks for main & hubby had the veal cutlet. Beef cheeks were tasty & soft & melt in your mouth. Hubby enjoyed the veal. For dessert we both got the chocolate & passionfruit souffle. A great way to finish a delicious 3 course meal. All our meals were enjoyable & well presented. Service was welcoming & friendly. A great value deal & I'd return to pay full price but more for special occasion dining as on the pricey side.

This place is elegant and a culinary must. The staff are well versed in the menu and you won't find fault with the service. This is a more upper crust restaurant so expect to spend some coin, but you will not be disappointed. Everything we ate tasted amazing, was well presented and had a flair not usually seen in suburban restaurants. I had the oyster (bit pricey but so fresh), the zucchini flowers and braised beef. The braised beef was tender, juicy and full of flavour.

Located in High Street Kew, is a lovely restaurant with Sicilian comfort food.<br/><br/>The dishes we had were the Brioche donut that was filled with pork caponata. It was absolutely fabulous. The flavours inside the donut were so nice. Try stopping at one!<br/><br/>We enjoyed the Kingfish. It was so soft and delicate, and the crunchy potatoes on top gave the dish a great contrast.<br/><br/>We had the special on the night we visited which was the Tortellini pasta with grated Buxton truffle on top. It had a smooth textured filling. A very nice dish. We suggest you save your bread to soak up the sauce!<br/><br/>The mains we had were the special on the night which was pasta lamb bolognese with round shell pasta. It was a great dish with lovely toasted breadcrumbs. <br/><br/>The Pumpkin & mascarpone Ravioli was divine. Such wonderful flavours. We could have definitely had more. <br/><br/>We couldn’t pass up not having some dessert. We had the Tiramisu. It was served from a large copper pot. Delicious!<br/><br/>We also tried the “sfinci” which is cherry jam and dark choc with Sicilian donuts. A wonderful dessert to be had.<br/><br/>And to finish off our fantastic dinner, we had the Spiced quince terrine. Such a lovely dish to follow after having pasta. Very nice indeed!<br/><br/>Lovely service and a wonderful atmosphere. Morizio (who served us on the night) was very knowledgeable. A very nice guy.<br/><br/>We thank Mister Bianco for having us. We experienced Mister Bianco as guests, and all of our opinions are genuine and are based on our experience at the time of our visit.

I really enjoy going to Mister Bianco. Always something new and exciting on the menu or new listing on the wine list. I was extremely happy with the delicious food. The service is real and genuine. It is great to see my local Italian celebrate their 8th birthday and always welcome me warmly with happy vibes. I salute you.

I had been wanting to try this place for ages and thought the Dimmi 50% offer was a great opportunity.<br/><br/>The food was ok, we quite enjoyed our entrees of zucchini flowers and donuts. The mains were less exciting, our duck, though tasty was lukewarm and our oxtail pasta was absolutely covered in cheese, we could barely taste any meat at all.<br/><br/>What was the most disappointing was the service. Now, I don't want to be mean, because our waitress wasn't rude at all, I guess she meant well, but it really did ruin our night. Our mains took almost 45mins to come. And the table next to us, who came at least 20mins after, got theirs first, and it was only after this point, by which we were both pretty hungry and annoyed, that we called her over did she even notice. Then, to make matters even worse, she had forgotten our side completely and only brought it out AFTER all our mains were done????????????<br/><br/>To add insult to injury she poured us the dregs from an almost finished bottle of pinot as compensation. WE HAD BEEN DRINKING SHIRAZ THE WHOLE NIGHT! Why even bother????<br/><br/>I guess it makes for a funny story....
Jorsie M
We have been three times, once for lunch and twice for dinner. The lunch visit was by far the best, having one of their lunch specials. Service is always excellent. I have found dinners to be hit and miss with excellent service and elements. I want to love this place so much... though something always holds me back from a rave review
@twogoodtoresist
Authentic Italian food at its absolute finest! Mister Bianco serves some incredible Italian food with the freshest and most authentic flavours and ingredients. There wasn’t a single dish we didn’t enjoy. They take great pride in everything they do- service, food and of course wine matching! Their arancini melted in our mouths (and we loved that it came in an egg type container). The calamari was cooked to perfection and the kingfish sashimi was to die for (presentation and taste alike). The ricotta gnocchi with wagyu was insanely amazing- like pillows of goodness that melt in your mouth. The beef cheek was cooked to perfection and again just melted in your mouth. The special pasta- pumpkin and ricotta with chestnut house made pasta was extremely unique. All dishes had the option to add truffle and boy did that just step it up even more! The burrata salad and side of greens were also fantastic. To finish we had the deconstructed cheesecake and the chestnut cream dessert- both uniquely incredible. While prices may seem a bit high upon first glance, the food speaks for itself! Perfect for a special occasion!

Absolutely beautiful place to visit for dinner with a special someone. The service is fantastic as is their collection of wines. The food is delicately balanced with just the right amount of flavour and texture making it quite a memorable meal. Being blessed with a massive sweet tooth, I found the tiramisu absolutely spot on!
Custardbun
A Kew gem!  The gnocchi is just sublime, as is the beef cheeks dish.  Caters really well for kids with their own special menu that doesn't treat them like they don't have tastebuds.  Perhaps include some dessert options to cater for the kids - the desserts on the main menu are a bit too much for the kids.

Nice place for any occasion. There’s also upstairs for group gatherings. Great service. Lovvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeee the Tiramisu here! Always save some stomach for dessert.

Loved restaurant for authentic Italian( Sicilian) food! The dim lighting and crisp white linen sets the tone for the experience ahead. We tried: <br/>Arancini- Yum! Super cheesy and risotto was 👍🏼<br/>Brioche Doughnut- A must try, the doughnut is crispy on the out and soft bread in the middle with a delicious pork filling.<br/>Calamari Fritti - tender and crispy and the squid ink aioli was the bomb! <br/>Seafood Linguine- pasta was cooked perfectly and the favour was great. Only negativity was that the clams were super chewy. <br/>Beef cheek- absolute perfection and a must try! <br/>Tiramisu- best I’ve ever had #enoughsaid <br/>

Fabulous Italian food in a stylish setting.<br/>Service was also impeccable.<br/>You must try the tomato dish which was one of the best I have ever tasted.<br/>I also loved the pillowy, soft gnocchi.

Wonderful service! Extensive wine list and we followed their recommendations and have no complaints at all!<br/><br/>Food was flavourful and unique and portions were generous.<br/><br/>Our favourite would be the fresh oysters with pomegranate granita mmmm!<br/><br/>Definitely recommend and we will undoubtedly be back soon.

Fantastic night out. Busy, great atmosphere, pleasant service and delicious food. Decor is just beautiful. We had the crayfish pasta (to die for) and beef cheeks with puffed maccheroni Love it. Absolutely recommend coming here and sitting back watching the Italian hospitality. Thank you. Perfect
FoodN
We had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. Ordered the set menu. Food was ok but nothing special - we enjoyed half of our meal (gnocchi/ arancini/ fish) but the other half was disappointing (pasta with corn/ chicken and desserts). I was expecting more given I enjoyed my meal at Massi (one of their other restaurants). I wouldn't recommend dining here.
Amanda
My friend took me to this beautiful restaurant a few days ago and now I know why she is a local. The staff know her name and drink. I want this. Thank you for a lovely evening. Well done
Yourmelbournefoodguide
Had a lovely experience here - the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was also very delicious - we were given some warm mixed nuts and bread before trying some arancini (change daily), the ricotta gnocchi with slow cooked goat, kale and Parmesan wafer, as well as the pumpkin and taleggio angioletti (which was my preferred dish). Overall, food was nice but I found the meal quite expensive considering we didn't order too much.

We came with friends for a midweek Celebration, and were greeted by friendly staff, felt like we were family, the food was exquisite, I had the fish of the day  Tasmanian trumpeter, it was perfectly cooked, the cabbage salad was a soujthern italian dish, definitely different and a must to try, we loved it, we all enjoyed our meals, the rump steak and the chicken dishes were enjoyed by our guests. Most of all I was impressed with the service, and the staff, Lucreccia ( I hope I got it right) wow what a diamond, we will definitely be back. Congratulations Mr Bianco on your passion for food and service. See you soon

Simple, very good quality food, exceptional service. Great atmosphere.<br/><br/>We ate here tonight and sat next to the wall to the kitchen.<br/>Wine selection is moderate but good quality. Not over priced or snobbish or too local.<br/><br/>We ate the beef rump, pork belly., asparagus, calamari<br/><br/>Food was Simple, Italian, unpretentious and well done. Traditiinally Italian food but won't blow your socks off.<br/><br/>Our waitress with the strong Italian accent was exceptional. Great food knowledge including ingredients and cooking methods. Attentive without being overbearing.<br/><br/>A tad expensive but worth it<br/><br/>We will be back
Naoko’s Foodlog
I had a 4 courses meal with using a coupon from Cudo, completely enjoyed every single dish here. Olives were so juicy and not too salty or bitter or oily. Arancini with basil pesto was cooked to perfection. Loved all the entree dish but just can't remember all of them as there were so many! Unlike most of Italian restaurants in Australia, both of pasta dish - gnocchi and ravioli were not overcooked, perfectly al dente. The sauce for Ravioli tasted amazing, which I had no clue what was made from. As for main, tuna steak and chicken dish were both moist and tasted divine. I was already full by the time the sensational tiramisu with a hint of orange was served on the table, but could not resist as it is my favourite dessert of all, and I could say it was one of the best I have ever had even though it was quite sweet for my liking. The presentation of donuts surrounded by fresh rosemary was beautiful as its uplifting scent was appealing to our senses. Great chilled ambiance yet not buzzy at all. Very accommodating services from the beginning to the end. Absolutely fantastic dining experience. I will definitely come back. Thank you.

We came mid week for a 4 course set menu share plate and not disappointed, lots of tasting size portions. Service was a bit patchy as restaurant was very busy. I would return to try the a la carte options.

White cloth tables, modern takes on chandeliers that throws a soft warm atmospheric glow over the cozy space (upstairs that is). We were seated upstairs, the perfect intimate function room for up to 16 they say.   . With a beautiful gold foil damask wallpaper, it reminds me of a bathroom we covered in faux gold leaf for an event. Seated by the window it wasn't cold but just right, with a lamp behind me the lighting was just perfect.

My partner took me here for my birthday and it's safe to say, we had a wonderful experience. We ordered the set menu and everything from start to finish was just perfection. My favourite dish has to be the gnocchi. It was very light and fluffy. Staff were very friendly and attentive as well

I just really love this place. After 7 years still going strong. The new refurbishment looks amazing and the food is still fantastic. The team at the front make you feel welcome and great value. Thank you Mister Bianco. Well done.
Amazing Food
We have been to mr bianco's restaurant a few time and always been happy. Tonight we decided to go out and celebrate a special occasion with my husband. We got a table at the back of the restaurant and our waitress wasn't very good at all, we order the 4 course meal to shear and we got the 3 instead. We order bread that took ages to come out and more. At the end we order coffee and cakes, coffee never come.when we asked she said 'oh no' and that it. Anyway even if food is good you need good stuff as well. <br/>I hope they can improve and work on that.<br/>
Flying Forward
30th Aug 2018 Update: Coincidentally, it's been exactly a year since my last visit, and the review still stands. Excellent food, menu changes seasonally and friendly staff. The beef cheek was exceptionally soft with a jiggle from the natural gelatin - the sauce was rich and tart. The pumpkin ravioli was excellent - cooked aldente, the buttery sauce was delicious with a nice crispy crunchy bits on top. One of my favourite Italian restaurants.<br/><br/>Points for: excellent papardelle lamb pasta, tiramisu<br/>Dine Time: Tues dinner<br/><br/>Friendly and attentive staff.<br/><br/>The pasta on special was the papardelle, with a slow cooked lamb, porcini, and gemolata, was one of the best pastas I've had in Melbourne. The flat, thick cut papardelle was made fresh in the morning and cooked just right to get the bite. The lamb was so tender you could pull it apart with a fork, and the fresh thyme added an earthy herb element. The serving was quite generous too...I would go back just to eat this pasta!<br/><br/>The squid ink spaghettini was also fresh - you get the taste of the sea in the pasta, as well as a decent amount of crab meat and soft shell crab. The tomato sauce pulled it together with a hint of chilli. The serving size was noticeably smaller than the papardelle though, I had some serious food envy.<br/><br/>The tiramisu was served in an almost theatrical manner with a generous serving being ladled from a large pan. It's what I expect from a good tiramisu - soaked sponge, marscapone & cream, topped with a good dusting of cocoa. Only thing I would have liked was more of a liquor hit, but it was still a perfect end to dinner.
Dinner Out
Excellent Italian fine dining.<br/>Excellent service <br/>Excellent food <br/>Definitely worth the try <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> ...........,..,,,, ..........................................................................<br/><br/><br/><br/>

Great premesis with alot of potential stylistically. All the work must have gone into the venue as the mnu needs alot!! Entre cauliflower was stodgy with a thick batter. The dish was not cohesive with indian spiced cauliflower batter, a red pepper sauce which tasted out of a jar and a balsmic glaze smear. $19 later you have to be kidding. Our mains were carbonara style raviolis and a soft shell crab and squid ink pasta. The ravioli was a pass, needed more fresh herb punch and a slightly lower price, at $35 a serve the ravioli need to look like pilows rather then dumplings. The squid ink pasta itself was good, but the seasoning on the crab was maggie with a hint of paprika, waaaaay too overpowering. The sauce was off the mark as well. Too thin with assaults of sundried tomato. Best leave them out and use more of the cherry tomatoes instead. We skipped dessert and were disappointed we were charged for the cauliflower despite not eating it and complaining about it. The table next door ordered an eyefillet, ate 1/4 and left the rest, not a great sign. Please review your menu guys. Dishes need tweaking and menu seems incomplete. Nothing jumped out at us, not a good sign.

Amazing service, great food, everything was very tasty and oh my lord the Tiramisu is one of the beat desserts I have ever had!! I highly recommend this place for a quiet and relaxed dinner.

There were enough redeeming factors to make the meal enjoyable, but the overall after-taste is sour. The service was friendly and attentive. The flavours of the dishes we ordered (burrata, meat balls, squid ink spaghettini, cavatelli and beef cheeks) were spot-on. The tiramisu was also an absolute delight. <br/><br/>However, the timing of the dishes made me feel like they couldn't wait for us to be out the door. I felt compelled to eat fast lest all the dishes became cold as they sat crowded together on the table. The pasta itself in the pasta dishes were overcooked to the point of having no bite whatsoever. The seafood in the spaghettini, though generous, could be fresher for the price of the dish. <br/><br/>I left in a rush, but I won't be in a rush to be back.
Caroline Chan
My husband, toddler and I had dinner here on a Saturday night.  My husband really enjoyed his spaghettini with soft shell crab, I enjoyed my gnocchi with goat, and the dessert of donuts nicely rounded out the dinner.  The service was very attentive.I do think that $22 is quite a bit to pay for a kid's meal (of spaghetti with tomato sauce) and would encourage the restaurant to rethink that.

Absolutely enjoyed our dinner at Mister Bianco! The waitress was amazingly friendly, fun, welcoming and helpful with choosing our dishes for the night. She was able to explain the menu in detail when we asked.<br/>Bread was served warm/hot - perfect for a wintery night. Meatballs were so tasty and loved the spicyness. Our mains were the squid ink spaghettini with soft shell crab and the beef cheeks. Both were faultless! We also had the broccoli side dish which was a little strange in flavours but nice. We were so happy with or dining experience and so full but decided to go for a shared dessert - tiramisu. The portion was so generous and it was one of the best tiramisu I have had. It was light, not overly sweet or creamy but just right ! We had a fantastic dining experience and definitely thought the waitresses and staff were one of the friendliest we have encountered for a long time. Thank you and well done to the team at Mister Bianco!

The Tiramisu is amazing. Recommend pork belly, pasta and meat ball (the entree). But the beef eye fillet was not very impressed. <br/>Soufflé worth to try! Service and restaurant were good.
Camila
Love this place. Their menu is gone a bit more modern Italian since my last visit. Their tiramisu is to die for and the way they serve it makes it even more special.
Misa
Loved it! The pastas were delicate, had unique flavours and not too heavy unlike other pastas.<br/>Seating was a little cramped for 3 but the general atmosphere/decor was nice.

amazing staff, amazing food! definitely recommend for special occasions :) such a nice surprise from a little restaurant on the street. would revisit again for sure.

My boyfriend and I had the set menu here on Valentine's Day and had a lovely time. The atmosphere of the place was perfect, it was quiet, relaxed and peaceful. Staff were friendly and professional. <br/><br/>We ordered the $90 something dollar per person set menu, which was a 4 course meal with a cocktail, and we had the choice of 3 mains. Overall food was fresh, well flavored and appetizing. Each dish was enjoyable in its own and we couldn't pick a clear favorite. <br/><br/>Although we enjoyed our meal we did feel it was a bit expensive, understandably due to Valentine's Day. The only other flaw of the night was we had to ask 3 times and wait almost 30mins to get the bill. But overall a great restaurant and would definitely recommend.

Outstanding Food and Service 👌🏻<br/>My partner and I attended with the Valentines Day special package and everything was great!!<br/>Food was delicious and the service throughout the evening was great.<br/>We definitely recommend !!!

I've wanted to go to this place for months, looks fantastic from the outside. We went in and that's were it stops. The pasta (Cavateli) was not al dente it was hard and I mean hard. We asked our waiter to ask the chef which she declined to do. So we left the plate as it was and left. My Gnocchi was nice but the crispy leek strips were hard and got stuck in my throat, for me they were like cardboard, we left that on the plate too. The starters were nice but the bread was not fresh or out of the oven warm.I read the reviews before I wrote mine as I'm still in shock at our experience. Oddly enough my photos of the hard pasta did not work, sorry you need to take my word on it.Finally, we were not asked if we enjoyed our meal or was there a response to the plates that went back full.

No need to say anything until you try. That's all I can say. But in terms of writing it...plenty to compliment! I guess menu changes for this resto? But you have to try their swordfish. Cooked to perfection and I think it's the best fish being cooked for my tastebud! The meatball is the one you have to try! Tuna...delicious! Vegetarian tartare was good, but not to my liking. No need to order imo. Salted caramel Soufflé was also the highlight! It can be a tag sweet for some but I have a sweet tooth, so another perfect dish for me. It does have passionfruit icecream so it can balance up. Overall 4 perfect dishes in one night! A rarity! Merry Christmas to all readers!<br/><br/>Went a second time and tried their share course. Is also very delicious! Had the oyster, arancini, beef cheeks. All were succulent and enjoyable! We were sharing between 6 people, but the share course, all 6 people has to order the same amount of course, can't have a person a 3course and another person 4course.

It was just over 12 months sine our last visit which I rated highly In Zomato. Friday night and after a solid working week we were looking forward to another enjoyable dinner to celebrate the end of the week but alas ‘none’ of the things we rated highly on our last visit were evident this time.<br/>The service was polite and professional but lacked the warm and friendly rapport of the last visit.<br/>I had the special pasta which was nothing ‘special’; a small serving at a high price. My ‘better half’ who is hooked on Afragetto’s was also disappointed, not only was it served well after my coffee it was short on ice cream and at $23 significantly more than the usual ‘up market’ restaurant

A cosy yet modern Italian fitout with outstanding flavoursome dishes of super quality, Mister Bianco didn't disappoint. Put simply, this is Italian fine dining at the highest level! The perfect place for a romantic dinner for two my wife and I chose the set menu of three courses and didn't leave a crumb remaining on any of our plates! Pasta dishes were delicious with Swordfish and Beef Cheek mains cooked to perfection in delicious sauces. The tiramisu was also brilliant with outstanding presentation. Service was also prompt and of a generally high standard. Mister Bianco is highly recommended for you and your closest loved one!

Absolutely divine restaurant! Food was beautiful, freshly made, wonderful flavours which paired well together and a wine list to match. Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgable about both food and wine, and made the experience fantastic. Mains were a decent size, despite being higher class food we didn't go hungry! Definitely try the meatball entree, you won't be disappointed!

Totally delicious - can't wait to return to try other items on menu. It's like visiting Italy without having to leave the country! The swordfish was perfectly cooked & served in a lemon butter sauce. The suggested wines were amazing as was the Tiramisu & Zabalogni - staff very attentive it was expensive but still magnifico!

Mixing traditional concepts and warmth with innovative and fun, Mister Bianco deserves - hands down - a 5-star rating!  From their adorable (aka small & cozy) dining room to their abundant and delicious table sharing menu, if you're anywhere near Kew - go! Over priced considering the size of my meal. Value for money is not worth going. I had a main pasta that had 5 fairly small pieces of ravioli for 34 dollars. The meal was also lukewarm. Don't sit near the door - we were freezing.<br/><br/>Service however was very good.<br/>
Lucky Star
Nice setting. A small restaurant with a lot of character. Not child friendly though. The arancini balls for the entree were nice with an interesting touch of pesto via a little test tube insert. The hot bread roll served in the warmer with chilli salt and olive oil was amazing. The salmon for the main was exquisitely pan fried. The veg orichietti with mushroom was exquisite but a little heavy. Definitely recommend the gay time parfait for dessert. They have nice coffees here too.

What fantastic food, at this unassuming restaurant! Found it by chance.<br/>Superbly presented; blend of marvellous subtle and complex tastes. The waitress (I think it was Lucrecia) made it an even better experience... Do yourself a flavour favour!
Jenny Jeyanandarajah
Fantastic restaurant. Wonderful initiate vibe. Pasta was exceptional across the board and Mains and dessert were fantastic. Could not likely recommended this place anymore.

Had a very nice dinner here, service amazing, food from another world. May I recommend the Veal Cotoletta. It is a religious experience. Thank you<br/>

What a delightful & homely little Italian restaurant, from the moment you enter the door, warm greetings abound.<br/>A menu that excites the tastebuds and delivers with perfection on a plate.<br/>Can't wait to return and do it all over again!

I first heard of Mister Bianco when it started appearing on my instagram feed from various food bloggers posting about it. Bonus was it was on my side of town and italian (love some good pasta) so I booked a table of four on a Saturday night.<br/><br/>Service was brilliant at Mister Bianco, we were looked after by a very bubbly staff member who was more than happy to help us with the menu and explain what some of the dishes were.<br/><br/>Starters; while we did enjoy the cauliflower, we didn't love it enough to say it's a must order dish. The arancino was delicious though and a dish I would recommend as a starter.<br/><br/>- Local cauliflower, chick pea fritter, romesco sauce and pomegranate ($5 pp)- "Suppli" roman style tomato and mozzarella arancino with roasted garlic aioli ($5 pp). <br/><br/>Mains; we all enjoyed our respective mains but having a taste of all the dishes, the stand outs were the gnocchi and pork belly (the seafood linguine was good too but was a special and may not be on the standard menu). The pumpkin caramelle was unfortunately a little hard where the caramelle folded to form the two ends else this dish would have been just as good as the others with the interesting combination of pear and pumpkin which went extremely well together.<br/><br/>- Ricotta gnocchi, slow cooked goat ragu, green olive gremolata and crispy leeks ($33)- Seafood linguine ($32); one of the specials of the night- Roast pumpkin caramelle, prosecco burnt butter, pear and pepitas ($32)- Twice cooked pork belly, quince puree, confit shallots and marsala sauce ($39)<br/>Side; presentation was spot on, the sweetness of the pumpkin and goats cheese went extremely well together.<br/><br/>- Roast pumpkin with goats cheese ($9); one of the side specials of the night<br/><br/>Desserts; the cannolo was what I was really there for. They were amazing and I can't wait to go back to eat more of them! Mister Bianco's take on golden gaytime was healthier with the slices of banana and while the presentation was beautiful, it wasn't the standout dessert for the table.<br/><br/>- Golden gaytime with pistachio, praline parfait and caramelised banana ($15)- Sweet ricotta and cinnamon cannolo with pistachio and dark chocolate ($6 pp)<br/><br/>Recommend:<br/><br/>- "Suppli" roman style tomato and mozzarella arancino with roasted garlic aioli ($5 pp)- Ricotta gnocchi, slow cooked goat ragu, green olive gremolata and crispy leeks ($33)- Twice cooked pork belly, quince puree, confit shallots and marsala sauce ($39)- Seafood linguine ($32); one of the specials of the night- Sweet ricotta and cinnamon cannolo with pistachio and dark chocolate ($6 pp)<br/> <br/><br/>Follow me on Instagram for more photos: @fo0die

As a local, we feel so damn fortunate to have this calibre of restaurant spitting distance from our house. We have dined here 3 or 4 times now and we keep coming back. Not really the done thing in Melbourne when there are so many fabulous options.<br/><br/>I recently chose MR Bianco as my birthday treat and once again we had a fabulous evening.<br/>The waitress was attentive and measured.<br/>The food was Michelin quality and the ambience was spot on. <br/><br/>Always a winner and one of my favourite all time restaurants.

My new favourite restaurant in Kew! Amazing pasta with lovely staff, win win! Didn't get a chance to try the deserts but wish we did, will definitely be coming back
Theycallmemaggie
Owner and chef Joseph Vargetto definitely pulled out all the stops in the creation of the tuna zingara; everything from the presentation to the textural and flavour composition of the dish was perfecto. The tuna slices were rich and raw, contrasting beautifully with the fresh bite of the gazpacho and creamy avocado.
Megan Kate
Wonderful service. Cosy and classy atmosphere. Delicious food! Caramelle pumpkin pasta was to die for! Do recommend - bookings limited particularly Saturday nights. 1hr 45min bookings is the only let down when enjoying an evening out with friends!
The City Lane
Mister Bianco Kew has been open for several years now, and in that time has established a reputation as a local’s favourite for Sicilian and Southern Italian food in an unfussy environment with friendly service.
Ramieleatsshootsandleaves
Had a lovely evening with great company - made even more pleasant with sincere service and very prompt waiting time.<br/>Most of us overestimated our appetite and had too big an entree so we couldn't fit dessert. Haha.<br/>The wild boar ragu pappadelle special was definitely a treat for me; hearty, tender and beef-like - the pasta could've been a tad more al-dente (x2 as 2 plates felt the same). But overall enjoyable with generous portions. <br/>Kudos to the kingfish ceviche and cannolo.<br/>Lots of seating too.
David Food Leasing
DO: The pork belly, beef cheek and veal cotoletta. <br/><br/>DON'T: Order any sides if you're not big eaters like me. Oink. Servings are pretty substantial, just the way all Italian meals should be. <br/><br/>TIP: Book online to avoid disappointment. Early sessions are easier to get into. Late sessions are harder but better atmosphere/vibe. It's all about the vibe.

Mister Bianco chef and owner, Joe Vargetto, has had a long and awarded career in both Australia and Italy. Working at a number of places such as Florentino’s early in his career, a stint at two hatted Gaultiero Marchesi in Italy, he was also owner and chef at Oyster Little Bourke and Mezzo Bar + Grill.
The Food Society
Mister Bianco has an offering too good to refuse – gorgeous, authentic Sicilian flavours and hearty southern Italian dishes finished with the sense of refinery that one would expect from someone of owner and chef, Joseph Vargetto’s experience. Blending modern European techniques with traditional Italian influences, Vargetto (of Langton’s, Number 8 and Mezzo fame) brings a wealth of experience and finesse to this local favourite. The restaurant falls within the fine dining category yet disposes of the pretentiousness that one might experience at fine establishments elsewhere. Service is friendly yet relaxed, the decor is intimate with white-clothed tables and low lighting, but the atmosphere oozes a pared back feel.
Lisa Holmen
Mister Bianco is the kind of restaurant you want to have as a local. And for Kew residents, the restaurant is a friend they have held close to their hearts since opening a few years ago. Kew High Street may not be as hip as other foodie strips, but Mister Bianco definitely bats above its average when it comes to Sicilian restaurants in Melbourne.
Fabio
Best place in Kew hands down. We live in Hawthorn and love coming here for the last year. Perfect food and service. Well done to all behind the scenes because this places gets very busy.
AJ
Cosy restaurant in kew, the food was fairly well received by everyone by everyone at the table, everyone was satisfied. Deserts were amazing. Staff very knowledgable with wines and recommendations
Mike
Mister Bianco is great for family dinners or catching up with friends the food is great but the service could be a bit better. I loved the Aranchini and the Meatballs they were amazing.
Two Sheds
Nice place. Food was good. I had the beef cheeks which were extremely tasty. Service was good. Brisk and professional. Not cheap and quite a noisy hard to hear type place. I'd happily return though.
Megan Luscombe
Absolutely loved this little quaint restaurant nestled in Kew. The staff are attentive but not smothering and the food is simple, delicious and executed perfectly.<br/><br/>Highlight of the experience was desert (as you can see by the photo, amazing!) and a coffee to finish off in true European style.<br/><br/>Will certainly recommend this place to others and gladly come back for a visit!
Ben Muir
Mister bianco is one of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne. The zucchini flowers are amazing as are most entrees. When they have barramundi as a main that is the dish I would go for every time. If you book early you can be in and out (if you have kids)

Had dinner here last night, ordered the porterhouse. It was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly - medium rare. Wonderful service, waitress went above and beyond to cater to my friend who has allergies. Refreshing to have such great service and delicious food at the same time.
Wei-Chi Lee
Had an amazing dinner here last night! Even though I'm not vegetarian the dishes we had were mainly vegetarian but I barely noticed because they tasted great. All the dishes had wonderful flavour and texture combinations and good sized portions. The staff were also very knowledgeable and attentive, making the whole dining experience even more <br/><br/>Update - 18th Sep 2015<br/>So after that amazing dinner the first time We couldn't wait to go back. Brought the whole family this time so I could get a taste of everything. The food was still absolutely delicious but the service this time was disappointing. Our waitress was quite slow and not very approachable, slightly rude at times. She also took ages to bring us butter for the bread, which was delicious though. I would have rated a 5 this time if the service had been better. <br/><br/>The slow braised beef and squid ink spaghetti were my favourites. The tiramisu and panna cotta were superb!
Gabi
Loved our dinner here recently.  Was a really nice surprise.  We will definitely go back and this time we'll leave even more room for the desserts which were truly spectacular.
Kev
Dined here on busy Tuesday night, there were 5 of us and this was our first time dined here. We order 4 different mains, so we can try each other dishes. My favourite is squid ink pasta with softshell crab,it was beautiful, the sauce was well balance, simple, but really light and satisfying. I also try little bit of pork neck and beef cheeks, were really good, lots of flavour and work well with other components on that dish. We ordered 3 dessert, tiramisu, doughnuts and passionfruit soufflé. Tiramisu and doughnuts were nice, but passionfruit soufflé a little bit too sweet. We were served by wonderful waitress lucrezia, she is really attentive, understand the drinks and menu really well and she told us a number of different story. It was really great night for me
Riccardo Floriani
Really nice place for having dinner. Very good Italian food and service. Tried the "shared table menu" with three courses and everything was good! In this restaurant you won't find the "classic pasta", but something that will appear a little bit different if you are not so familiar with the Italian cuisine. Cavatelli and gnocchi are highly recommended.
Joey
Just a well done place. Honest and real. Service is faultless and genuine. The wine list affordable and always find something different and interesting. Food is delicious. Well done

Mister Bianco is a little understated place in Kew. It was busy on a Tuesday night during dinner with many diners enjoying a quiet Italian dinner together. It was here that five other bloggers wrote about the service and the food, especially Ashley of Im So Hungree who first discovered it. It is about 20 mins by tram from the city.
Maddalene
Very disappointing! Booked a table for 6 people upstairs but when we arrived were given a table in the back. It was like being in a shed. Uneven concrete floor and very cold. We had to keep our coats on. The service was also very rushed. The slow cooked pork was undercooked and asked for steak instead which was ok. This was not a cheap meal and so not worth it Overall very disappointing. Won't be back.

European ambience in Kew Great Service. I had dinner with 2 wonderful friends, and i had the most delicious home made Italian food ever!! This culinary delight was very much accentuated by a very lovely, professional and endearing waitress, Lucrettia. She really brought Italy into my heart, when she spoke those beautiful Italian accented clear English at our table.
Andrewssuzy18
Outstanding good and great staff. My hubby and I had a terrific dinner here. The service was really good, it is a very happening place. The staff were great and our waiter was particular funny which made the night more enjoyable. The quality of the food was outstanding, real Italian but with a contemporary twist. We loved the pumpkin ravioli and the duck was just amazing!

Modern take on Italian food. I've been dining at Mister Bianco for a year now and keep going back. Joseph's food is fantastic, Italian, or rather Silician with a modern take. The staff are very attentive and knowledgable about the food and wine offerings. The dinning area is intimate and classy, yet has a vibrant astrosphere. Would recommend/have recommended to others.

Delicious Meal. We had a big party, everyone was perfectly accommodated. Delicious meals has by all!

Brilliant service from our delightful Italian waitress. Always love a good local feed.

Why Did We Wait So Long?. We drove past for years. To be brutally honest, we didn't like the name.<br/>Even "Bianco" would have done.<br/>However, we finally took the plunge, and are delighted that we did.<br/>The ambience is wonderful, the menu excellent and the wine list very good though not extensive.<br/>But the real joy goes beyond that - it is the overall experience.<br/>Lucrezia - in charge the night we went - is as good as it gets in terms of welcoming, explaining, smiling and generally being fantastic.<br/>High Street Kew is crowded with restaurants. Some are cheaper, but I know of none that is better.<br/>We will be back, and back again.

Exceptional Service & Delicious Food. What a lovely experience. I must say, it was not my first visit to Mister Bianco, probably my 5th now. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, the experience is fantastic. I have dined both downstairs and more recently, last Saturday evening we had a private function room upstairs. Not to mention a last minute booking, by my party of 18, they were most accomodating and efficient. <br/>The Service by our waitress was exceptional, food knowledge, friendliness and attention to detail - all here.<br/>The food/menu cannot be faulted! The Calamari entree was equisite and I am a huge fan of the eye fillet here !!<br/>Well Done Mister Bianco!<br/>If you have not dined here, it's a must !!<br/>Joseph Vargetto you should be congratulated !!<br/>Ali

Not impressed. I took my partner and my parents to Mister Bianco last night after reading and hearing great things about the place. <br/>The service was great as was the atmosphere but unfortunately that's where it stopped.<br/>The best thing we ate was the complimentary ciabatta that they give you with olive oil and salt.<br/>We had the calamari as an entree which was over cooked and rubbery although the sauce was nice, potato croquettes which were average, the Morton bay bug pasta, whilst the pasta was nice the bugs were over cooked, we also ordered the seafood linguine and the pasta wasn't even cooked properly! <br/>Others at the table had the veal and barramundi and they were slightly more satisfied but overall we left paying a hefty price and feeling dissatisified and underwhelmed. <br/>Would not recommend!

Amazing food. Amazing service.. If you enjoy food and eating in amazing restaurants, Mister Bianco is a must. Put it on your list of 'to-dos' in Melbourne.
Ben Lee Kong
The pork belly ragu with Sicilian semolina gnocchi was not great. I enjoyed the texture of the gnocchi which was quite firm, rather than the light and fluffy kind. However, I’m not sure the pork belly had been cooked/braised for long enough, or even if it was the right cut of meat to use. Either way it was a little chewy and because some of the pieces of meat were chunky I ended up leaving quite a bit to the side. I wish it was better because it would have affirmed my decision to order “double ragu”!
A Chronicle Of Gastronomy
The first bite into the beef cheek was accompanied by groans of satisfaction - the fall-apart beef was packed with flavour after its 12-hour braise. There was a wonderful balance between the tartness of the red wine sauce and pickled radicchio and the creamy sauce of the spaztle, and the beetroot chips provided some crunchy pleasure.
JB
Absolutely fantastic food! Great presentation, lovely taste & texture. Nice environment and service. Menu read brilliantly, so much left for next visit.

Just had a meal....I found the menu to have a good selection, there was no duck on it, they may change from time to time. All 4 of us enjoyed what we ordered...but found the volume of pasta to be very small. The wine selection was limited (expencive) and the choice of beer was very limited. It is not BYO which makes it a little harder. The soufflé was very nice which enough cream and ice cream to compliment. I would go back, but not high on my list.
David Flint
Birthday Celebration. Excellent night. Staff were friendly, welcoming, knowledgable. My wife and I really enjoyed it.<br/>The food was excellent as was the wine and the way that they presented the souffle, prepared as a faux birthday cake was outstanding. We will be back.
Hungry Hippo
I had a most delightful dinner here with family over the weekend. Staff were polite, cheerful and knew their stuff and the decor made all the more fascinating by an array of vintage wine bottles along the back wall. All plates were very tasty, a particular highlight was the tenderness of the beef cheek which rested in a rich and warming red wine jus. Would like to come back to try the dessert - I've heard the tiramisu is a winner.

Came here with 5 business colleagues for a Xmas dinner. We had an exquisite 3 courses and terrific wines we will definitely be back. Excellent food and ambience.

Sausage Night. Lots of fun, great atmosphere, beautiful wine and delicious food. And I got to take home my own sausages. Mister Bianco is classy without being pretentious.
Gjboyer08
Great service. We went as a group of 6 to celebrate 2 birthdays. We wanted to have the 4 course fixed price menu but 1 of our group didn't eat beef. No problem! She was provided with some beautiful seafood dishes. The rest of us had some fantastic food, way too much in the end. I can't name a favourite dish, it was all great. Very noisy the only downside.
Melanie Barrett
Went there last with my husband for date night. We had the 3 course set menu. Everything was delicious. Good atmosphere, our waitress was very friendly. Good value, the servings were quite big. Best Italian in the suburbs!
Evie
Yummy beef. Invited their by friends to the 'Three Sicilians' dinner a few weeks ago, had a great night, amazing food (and cheese), hadnt been there before. Went back last night and had the special Sicilian dish beef Brasciole - big serve, big flavours - and a big choice of Italian wines, that were listed for 'non experts', to make them easy to choose. Nice little dining room, with a good feel.
Foodie1985
Nice but not WOW. Dined here a few months ago & enjoyed. For me personally, there was no real wow factor, however nothing to be unhappy about. Fresh food, service attentive, but wished at least one of the wait staff would smile. Was surprised at the lack of Italian wines by the glass.<br/>Would not hurry back, but would definitely return if in the area :)
MrsHill
Had a very enjoyable meal here with friends. Food was great. Service too & a small mishap was very professionally handled. Classy establishment. Looking forward to returning.

BEWARE: Corkage outrageous!. I went to the restaurant last night with friends, the meal was not outstanding, when the bill came we found we had been charged $20.00 per bottle corkage! This was outrageous, we were not told when we booked there would be such a high charge.
Vbushman13
Loved the chef loved the place. I don't know if he's the owner but the chef that wanders out every so often makes this little place feel like Italy. He just makes you feel comfortable, and the place is just like a neighborhood fave. It's not a typical cheap Italian joint, but a more stylish place with a more sophisticated menu (with Sicilian specials) to match. Good wine list for my partner who likes to study it long and hard. Will try it again soon with friends.

LOVED Mister Bianco!. What a find! <br/>Mister Bianco is stylish, warm and classy, with friendly staff who got the bubbles flowing as soon as we were seated. The food was utterly delicious - some of the best Italian I have ever eaten! <br/><br/>We had:<br/>Natural oysters with blood orange granita...Stunning.<br/>Baccala – (salted cod croquettes) – yes!<br/>Tuna carpaccio with avocado puree...so so good!<br/>Burrata Mozzarella – with heirloom beetroot and candied walnuts...sheer bliss.<br/>Pan friend barramundi with slow cooked tomatoes and black olive tapenade... Loved it. Dessert – Morello cherry and dark chocolate soufflé, with chocolate gelato and crunchy raspberry. What can I say...Sublime.<br/><br/>It’s the kind of place you could go to for a delicious dinner with friends, a very special (romantic) date night, or a business lunch. And, there is an ‘upstairs’ with 2 private dining rooms – which would be perfect for intimate gatherings or special events.
Bigbad
Meh. There are options.. Not terrible by any means, but if you have a car there are plenty of better options within 10min... eg centonove, hell of the North, the commoner etc

Got engaged at Mister Bianco last night (Valentjnes day). What a magical evening. The ambience was romantic, the staff were like family and the food!!! We asked Mister Bianco to just feed us and the food was faultless, spectacular, artistic and delicious. Mister Bianco ROCKS!!!

Had a very enjoyable dinner at mister bianco last Friday night. The place was cosy. Dishes presented well and tasted so fresh. Hubby and I ordered crumbed oysters w salsa verde to start. squid ink spaghettini, barramundi, cannoli and choc souffle w morello cherries. Excellent.

Diner Review. Mister Bianco's Italian Restaurant would undoubtedly be one of the top Italian restaurants in Melbourne. <br/><br/>The chef has been able to capture the true essences of Italian cuisine, taking simple ingredients and turning it into something truly magical. <br/><br/>I loved the afternoon, not only because of the occasion but because of the magnificent food, attentive staff and wonderful atmosphere! The flavors captured in each dish will blow you away. <br/><br/>A must place to eat whether it be for a special occasion or visiting Melbourne!!
Felicity Prentice
Not to be repeated. The visit might be classed as "not to be repeated", but the food has repeated all night and into the next day.<br/><br/>It was a special occasion dinner, and was outstanding in its mediocrity. Overall there was only one vegetarian offering, so I asked for two side dishes to be combined - which they were willing to do. I got soggy greasy wedges of potato nestling against rocket and vast quanities of low quality parmesan, and all awash with an oily vinegar mix. And I was lucky.<br/><br/>The meat dishes were generous in size and lacking in any finesse. Beef cheek was so 'intense' in richness, two mouthfuls were sufficient. Actually the words 'intense' and 'rich' sound quite good - when the reality was that the dish was pretty much inedible. The pork was uninspired, but the "potato croquette" was extraordinarily nasty (the taste, not any inherent personality traits). The veal was half of a Parma and Pot (the Pot would have improved it). <br/><br/>Dessert (when the waiting staff were finally willing to take our order) featured gelato and sorbet that made one long for a choc fudge sundae at the Maccas two doors up. The pretentious donuts (dry and uninspired) were delivered with a well worn 10 cc (needleless) syringe containing strawberry jam. Apparently one had to 'inject' the jam. If the syringe had contained something other than jam, and a torniquet was provided, the dessert would have been vastly improved, and the shock of the bill would have been at least ammeliorated by medication,<br/><br/>To accompany this, the doof-doof music was intermingled with elevator music, and possibly the soundtrack of a porn movie (but no-one at the table was willing to admit recognising said music).<br/><br/>Very very ordinary. Very.

Good Food and Good Service. Mister Bianco is becoming a favorite of mine. The Service is always very good and the waiters are very Attentive. The Wine List is great and has a good range of choice and changes quite often. Food is always tasty and worth the price most of the time. The Menu could do with a few vegetarian mains that are not just a pasta. Love the desserts and the tiramisu is to die for. Recommend going towards the end of the week. I have noticed a difference in the quality of the dishes between the start of the week and the end of it. Best Restaurant in Kew!
Sarah
A superb night out. I hope this restaurant maintains its culinary excellence as a venue for a superlative dining experience. The 3 courses we shared were deliciously consumed and appreciated as was the gracious service. We recommend it highly.
Jan
Rarely do I even bother with italian restaurants as most of what they dish up I can cook at home. Mister Bianco is the exception. Not only is the food both authentic and imaginative, it is cooked and served with love, just like at home. A true gem in the era of themed and designed restaurants, Mister Bianco is a gift to locals and a destination worth the trip.
Natasha
Loved it!. I invited 11 guests, we enjoyed a fantastic banquet in the private dining room and we all loved it! The Chef came out to greet us and explain the style of the menu and cuisine. We started with sharing plates - oysters were incredible, arancini authentic. followed by generous mains, paired with a great selection of wines. The restaurant was busy and lively, evident from the strong patronage the restaurant seems to attract.
Laura
Very disappointed! Waited for half an hr to be seated for our booking which was made, meanwhile another couple walk in 20 minutes after us and get a table before we do!! Terrible service!!!!

Very Disappointed. After first being served the wrong dish, the right dish arrived. What was meant to be a medium eye fillet was incredibly rare. Others at the table also served wrong dishes. Others also served very underdone steaks!<br/><br/>Ordered a gluten free dessert and it turned up with some wafer thing in the top - not gluten free!<br/><br/>Final insult for the night was waiting half an hour for a decaf coffee only to follow up and have the waitress realise she'd forgotten it. Two hours later when trying to get to sleep after a very long and slow dinner, coffee was definitely not decaf.<br/><br/>Get it right.

Great place! Had to wait 45 mins for our table but they did give us drinks on the house whilst we waited. <br/>Excellent buffalo mozzarella salad. Beautiful meatballs & arancini on the sharing menu. Really enjoyed it! Apparently the wagyu pasta which my husband had wasn't very memorable. Although his porterhouse was delicious! Another dish which was delicious - the crumbed veal. Will definitely visit again.

Had a private function here, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Everyone in the function enjoyed the food.

Incredible taste experience. My husband and I had dinner at Mister Bianco on High Street Kew last night and I can honestly say it was the best restaurant experience to date. Everything was impeccable and beyond impressive, from the ambience, the service and of course the exquisite flavours in everything that we tasted. I woke up thinking about the zuccinni flowers and the amazing farmed barramundi. I would highly recommend this restaurant and hope to return soon.

My husband and I dined here for his birthday. Lovely food! a nice surprise so close to home. Beautiful wine also. We were so full after our second course but we still ordered dessert and stuffed it in. We have never been so full!!! We will be going back again thats for sure. Great service, although a little too over the top (the waiters were always at our table, - which is a first) The front of house lady was a little off when we first walked in.

Nice food and very friendly service. We went for the shared menu which gave us also good variety at a very reasonable price.

Really enjoyed a meal with a girlfriend at Mister Bianco. The food was delicious and the service exemplary. The set menu was great value but 3 courses was WAY too much food even for 2 piggies. Loved it!

Underwhelmed. Dinner with friends at Mr Bianco left me somewhat underwhelmed. I would hesitate to suggest that this restaurant has the badge "gluten free friendly" - of the extensive list of entrees and starting/sharing dishes only 2 (both oyster dishes) were labelled as gluten free; and the risotto was also not gluten free due to a major part of it being a battered accompaniement. However, a generous serve of good gluten free bread was provided upon request, together with a separate dish of olive oil and dukkah (also upon request). My fish was overcooked and spongy, the beetroot chips not crisp - suggesting the dish had perhaps sat on the pass for some time before being brought out. And the roast potatoes - poor choice of potato - while crisp on outside were floury inside and not at all nice. With good service this was still a pleasant evening, but at these prices the food could be better executed; and the menu needs more thought to truly claim "gluten free friendly" status.

Started well with the zucchini flowers and I'm not a tuna fan but even it hit the spot. The lamb cutlets were very tender and the seafood looked fresh and presented well. Was bursting at the seams at this point but we couldn't waste any of the panna cotta - simply devine. All this together with some great personal service means ill be back before long, a nice little find in the suburbs

You've got to be kidding me !!. Seated in a private upstairs room gave us the impression that Mr Bianco was mmm wow for a suburban restaurant. However, the meal was a real let down. The banquet shared amongst 8 of us was not only measly but below the standard of what you would expect for the $190 it cost per couple.<br/>The gnocchi were undercooked, unsalted, the sauce bland.<br/>The lamb cutlets served straight from the butchers chopping block, a new way of presenting medium rare - returned to chef then represented overcooked.<br/>The vegetables all battered and deep fried, the risotto, with peas , was embarrassing to say the least.<br/>Never again would we step foot in this establishment, nor would we recommend you to!!

We dined here on Saturday night in the private dining room with a group of 7 people and found both the food and service excellent. Being of Italian heritage I am often very critical of many so called "Italian" restaurants in Melbourne as they rarely live up to my high expectations. Mr Bianco was wonderful surprise! The food was fresh, tasty and well presented without being prententious.<br/>I celebrated a wonderful birthday and will definately go back with other friends.

Disappointing. Wow. What an absolute let down. I ordered the Veal special, that was fantastic. 3 of our party ordered the highly popular semolina gnocchi.<br/><br/>They were presented with a plate of plain looking pasta, cold cheese and a distinct lack of sauce. Wait staff were incredibly apologetic however for a $30 dish, it just wasn't good enough. We got our coffees on the house, so so generous when $90 worth of meal on our table was a huge let-down.<br/><br/>The wine list also seems quite limited and expensive when compared to other restaurants with similarly priced meals.<br/><br/>Wait staff were very inconsistent in their serving approach and it's not the best look for all staff to be behind the counter laughing and joking when water and service was required at numerous tables in the room.<br/><br/>I will not be visiting again.
The Vanity
Upsetting. I was very disapointed with the food at mister bianco. Both my friend and myself chose the canneloni. It was your traditional spinci e ricotta canneloni, however, it was drowning in a bechamel sauce and had a citurs twang to it. The flavours of the ricotta, citurs and all the bechamel sauce were not a winning combination. Neither of us finished our meal. We then ordered a caprese like salad, which was lovely, i think, i cant be too sure as it felt like we shared one cherry tomato between the two of us. We decided to skip desert. Mister Bianco was also lacking in atmosphere, and it would be nice to see the maitre d crack a smile!!

Service 10/10 - Food 10/10. It was my first time at Mister Bianco's and definitely will not be my last! Where can I start? Greeted by our friendly host Alex we were seated and drinks were ordered. Alex continued to look after us all night. As I was with my grandparents Alex was great in attending to their needs and making jokes etc. The food was absolutely amazing! Had the meatballs for entre' and they were incredible followed up by steak for main which was cooked sensationally. The owner and chef Joseph Vargetto was visible around the restraint and friendly when approached. Service 10/10 and Food 10/10. Would recommend to anyone.

Well run restaurant with interestingly updated Italian food - nicely cooked and presented but oh the salt!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent!. A group of 8 of us dined in one of the private rooms upstairs. Service was very good (although occasionally bordered on being too friendly, in that the waiter joined in on our conversations a couple of times!) and all our meals were simply delicious - beautifully presented and a wonderful fusion of flavours. Serves are not huge but satisfying with their intensity of flavours. A highly recommended find and lucky for those in Kew! My only complaint would be that (as many restaurants now tend to do), we were offered "sparkling or still water" as we sat down - no mention of tap water until one of us asked; I find this a little bit deceptive and can add to costs unnecessarily (Melbourne tap water is excellent!).

Great stuff. Loved it.. Mister Bianco is a great restaurant with a fantastic menu and wine list. We had the degustation and it was fantastic. Plenty of food and all at what I thought was a reasonable price. Mind you, our friends were getting the bill.... In any case, I recommend it.

Nice food, nice service. Great service for a busy saturday night. Very attentive staff. We ordered the Shared Table Menu, with the Porcini mushroom & quail risotto being the highlight, although all the meals were very good. I'd recommend trying the desserts.

A pleasant surprise in Kew. <br/><br/>We had the 3 course sharing menu with entree, pasta and the mains. The calamari and the separate Arancini balls for the entree were a magnificent start. This was followed up by a divine crab and clam pasta and a stunning mushroom, sage and pancetta quail mushroom risotto. The main course was a great fried snapper with fennel salad and rhe second dish was a flavoursome shoulder of lamb. It was all finished with a separate order of Italian Donuts and coffee. The servings were generous and we left extremely satisfied. A great night out and highly recommended.

Took some friends here for dinner last night and we had the 4 course set menu. Food was good but service was average and little portions for the money spent. They broke plates and glasses on 3 different occasions, very odd. Will definately give it another go though.

What is the fuss about..... Went there last night and was totally disappoointed by the quality and flavours of the food. We had the two course menu consisting of the pasta and the main. The pasta course consisted of semolina gnocchi with clams and a risotto - the risotto was disappointing as the only seasoning that you could taste was the salt, the quail however was cooked perfectly, the clam and gnoccchi dish was not a show stopper - a bit boring and the pasta was no better than a packet macaroni.<br/><br/>The food was served with no real break in between so we were unable to eat all the main - which was a blessing as it was extremely disappointing - the fish (barramundi) was served with a crispy skin (nice) but the flesh was like a pile of mush - overcooked and no flavour. The slow cooked lamb was dry (where's the sauce???) and again the only seasoning you could taste was salt - and it was served with spatzle which tasted and looked like macaroni and cheese without seasoning. <br/><br/>The service was okay, overall we were not impressed and will not be rushing back when there are so many more authentic Italian restaurants in the area without the hype and excellent food and service.

A regular attendee.... I have dined at Mister Bianco on quite a few occasions now. <br/><br/>The food is always fantastic. The manner in which the staff handle your booking is very professional and succinct. Upon arrival we are always greeted warmly with a smile. The service is fast and efficient. And, oh yes, did I mention the food. Yes I did. Always fantastic, with an extensive selection to choose from. Thank you Mister Bianco.

Not impressed!. Dined here the other night and wasn't worth the money. The manager was not helpful and rude. When questioning her about the wine she would only suggest the most expensive wine as if only to make a sale. When we finally decided on a medium priced wine she seemed ticked off and unimpressed with our option making my wife and I feel as though we were cheap and nasty. Will never go back. Mabye mister bianco should consider a new manager??

Not good. This place is horrible.. i do not recommend going. bad service, bad food and rude manager.

Quickly RUN!!!. Food was great.....not amazing but good still! However what my friends and I found was that the manager was more interested in doing laps around the restauarnt then actually doing her job. We found this out constantly through out the everning..... She was rude and arrogant! Its such a shame!! But dont bother!!! Mister Bianco we sadly expected more.....

Wonderful evening. We booked an upstairs dining room for a family celebration. It is spacious and smartly fitted out. The dedicated waitress Alex, introduced herself and guided us through the mini a la carte menu. The service was excellent, the food sublime and many unthought of details attended to by Alex and other staff. The staff were friendly and professional and I have no hesitation is recommending Mr. Bianco's private dining rooms. <br/>Kew has many good restaurants, but Mr. Bianco's is a standout. It was a special celebration and we wanted everything to go well - and it did! <br/>Congratulations to all at Mr. Bianco's and thankyou.

Not Sicilian. Ate there one week ago and found the food good but not great. The staff were good but the floor manager was rude to my friends who arrived before us. Maybe the attitude tainted my opinion of the food??? NOT.

Let Down. Lets hope the owner Joe Vargetto actually listens to his customers and looks into how his staff, in particular the restaurant manager badly handles the front of house service. The rigid and unfriendly approach will in the long term, destroy his efforts as owner/chef. On arrival at approximately 8.25pm for an 8.30 reservation, we were chastised for being early. Even though the table we were to eventually to sit at was available, empty and waiting for service. We were escorted to the back yard and told to wait there until our table was available. We waited in the cold and then eventually were called in only to find that our friends had arrived and had been sitting at the table for some time wondering where we were and they were sitting at the same empty table. The damage was done and there was nothing the other staff could do to rectify the negativity imposed on our table by the restaurant manager who had realised we were unhappy and avoided us for the remainder of the evening. My friend commented at the beginning "come here and learn how to lose lose your customers from the start."The restaurant manager needs a reality check on how to treat the restaurants customers, after all it's not a fine dining restaurant and cannot claim to own arrogance !

Ambiance -good Food - wonderful. Head waitress - grumpy and non engaging. Pity!!

Always Impressed!. I have dined at Mister Bianco three times now and have been very impressed each time. <br/><br/>Most recently I booked myself and 9 friends into one of the private dining rooms upstairs on a Monday night.. When we arrived the dining room was already full and bursting with lively atmosphere.<br/><br/>We were greeted by a friendly host and promptly whisked upstairs. The room set up with the gorgeous massive wooden table, plenty of candles and a flat screen TV on the wall (in case your company becomes dull)!<br/><br/>At the last minute 3 guests were unable to attend and staff were very understanding. Andy (our own personal waiter) introduced himself and organised some fantastic Italian wine to keep with the theme. I had previously arranged a tailored four course sharing menu which was a bargain at $65 per head and portions were generous. Like in any good Italian restaurant warm bread and olives aroused our appetites!<br/><br/>For starters we had smoked mozzarella and pea arancini, zucchini flowers with white onion jam and beef carpaccio with dried pears and remoulade (standout dish of the night all agreed!)<br/><br/>We then had a pasta course of delicately flavoured squid ink tortellini filled with prawn and crab and the pea risotto with Moreton Bay bugs.<br/><br/>Mains was a feast of pork belly (only criticism of food was pork belly was a little dry) with beetroot and apple salad, duck breast with pumpkin, candied pancetta and radish and slow cooked lamb shoulder with baby figs and nut praline.<br/><br/>After all this delicious food we were stuffed!<br/>We were given a much needed rest before dessert. <br/><br/>We ordered a lovely German riesling to accompany our selection of gelati (best I've even had), Sicilian lemon mousse with citrus salad and cheese. Desserts have always been the high light for me at Mister Bianco. Coffee was perfect too.<br/><br/>We felt so at home having our own room except with a personal waiter! The service was faultless ( I have very high standards being a waiter myself) Staff are friendly, personable and very knowledgeable on not only the food but wine also. Don't be shy to ask for recommendations on Italian and especially Sicilian wines as these wines compliment the food the best.<br/><br/>As a Kew local I am very happy to have found Mister Bianco and I'm sure if they keep up this standard of near perfection we will be back again and again.......
Dumplings For Breakfast
Great food let down by the service. We had a fantastic meal here and would be raving about it if it weren't for the poor service that let down the meal. <br/><br/>We were put off by a pushy waitress who sat us down and immediately asked for our drink orders - without letting us see a menu or even have time to think. We thought nothing of it at first, but when we asked for suggestions of what dishes to choose, we were told we "had" to order entrees, and "had" to order sides, and we ended up with too much. We ordered a bottle of wine and were presented with a bottle with a different year than on the menu. Our waitress got very flustered, went away, then told us there was nothing she could do, did we want that bottle or not? Very off putting start to the meal! <br/><br/>Anyway, on to the food. The homemade bread came straight from the oven to the table and was suitably amazing. We ordered the croquettes, which were delicious, light and fluffy. For mains we had the slow roast beef cheek (beautifully rich and so so tender), a wagyu steak (fantastic quality meat and cooked to perfection) and the pork belly (how can you go wrong?). I had the pork belly, which came with an apple custard sauce that cut through the fatty meat to make the dish surprisingly light. But I would have been equally happy with any of the other mains we ordered. <br/><br/>The mains were overshadowed again by strange service. Water was spilled on the table every time our glasses were filled (maybe get different jugs!), cutlery was dropped both on the table and on the floor around us when plates were taken away, and my chair, which faced outwards, was bumped every time a waiter walked past. <br/><br/>For desserts, we shared two between four because they looked great on other tables. We had the meringue and the souffle. The meringue was ok, a little boring, but the souffle was great, as souffles always are when done right. <br/><br/>We left wanting to love this place, as we are also locals, but there were little details that let it down. Would we come back: Possibly in a few months when the waiters are more experienced and the service has improved.

Delicious. Great food, great service, outstanding, I'll be back!

Fear not after your meal, McDonalds is next door.. This is a highly overrated restaurant - the food was mediocre and overpriced. The menu was a let down. The staff's method of interaction was rather unusual. The atmosphere was largely spoiled by the interesting selection of music that sounded too similar to Mexican mariachi - something that you might hear at a Taco Bill. If you must try the restaurant, do not go on a special occasion, you will be disappointed. Beware the terrine.
Neil
Overated. We came away underwhelmed from our experience of a Saturday evening dinner here. The atmosphere was great, the service good and the tuna carpaccio was outstanding. But the rest (risotto with squid ink and bug, duck and the beef cheek) was dull and lacking in any character.<br/><br/>The "Would we go back test"? No. There are plenty of other places to visit.
Flora
Second chance. I was very excited to be going to this new restaurant in my neighborhood but thought the experience was patchy and unprofessional in parts. Great menu which gave lots to choose from and attentive (but a little irritating) staff, who visited our table regularly and called us 'ladies and gentlemen'! The fritters was a great dish but the terrine was a much smaller dish and I scored the end piece which was even smaller than my partner's. The other guest commented that the duck was also a small serving and the side serve of potatoes- which you need-was also served in a tiny plate and didnt seem fresh.<br/>I will like to give it another go and perhaps choose dishes that are more substantia.l

Terrific. We went here cos we needed a Sunday booking, wanted to go to Mezzo in town and instead made the booking in the related restaurant.<br/> <br/>We were upstairs in the private dining room. Great room. <br/>Stairs were quite steep. Will punish people wearing stillettos.<br/><br/>Service was brilliant, without being annoying.<br/>Food was simple and fantastic. If only a bit too generous with portion sizes. Made it hard to work all the way through all available courses. <br/><br/>For sure recommended.

Dinner at Mr Bianco last night was a knockout. My wife can't stop thinking of that wagyu steak we had and that succulent Terrine! Compliments to the kitchen and the attention by all the staff as we celebrated our anniversary. Have dined in the area for years now and this place is welcomed with open arms. See you soon!

WONDERFUL. We had been wanting to try Mister Bianco for a while, and finally went to dinner last night. What can I say, the food was the most amazing food I believe outside of Italy. We had the suggested pre-selection menu - and it didn't disappoint. Our waitress who was very attentive and explained in detail how this menu was structured left us at ease that we had made the right decision. We selected the four course option, which included desert. All meals were well presented with flavours that mixed very well together, for instance filled and fried zucchini flowers on a bed of the most delightful green pea risotto, which was a standout dish. I would not hesitate to come back over and over again, and look forward to their new menu to try.

Happy Diner!. Celebrated my mother's 70th in the private dining room last Saturday night with 14 other people. Three generations were present and all enjoyed their food immensely. The children were treated very well which added to everyone's enjoyment. Can't wait to go back and sample some more of the menu. Hope they're in Kew for a long time!

Great experience. Loved it. Food was excellent. We tried shared menu and found it to be delicious as well as great value. Service was exceptional, starting from initial phone call to make reservation right through to the end of our dining experience. Thanks Chris. We will be back

Immaculate service and food. We were very impressed with Mister Bianco. First the service: a delight! Geoffrey our waiter was warm, engaging and delightful. Second, the space was comfortable and elegant. The four of us had a diverse range of food ranging from the soup of the day, to pasta, fish and beef. Naturally one has to toss in deserts. The souffle was gorgeous. The duck in a rich liquorice sauce was also particularly delicious. Whilst Lady Gay was not totally enamoured with her squid ink pasta, overall the table was very impressed with all offerings. We cannot wait to return to this new BYO jewel on High Street! 7.5/10

Cherob. A great addition to Melbourne's and especially Kew's eateries. Excellent service from the knowledgable and polite staff combined with delightful, well priced food, made our evening a thoroughly enjoyable occasion. The raspberry souffle was possibly the best we have ever eaten! The accoustics of the Restaurant are very good and street parking is not too bad. Wine prices are reasonable with a good spread of prices. We will definitely return.

One of the latest editions to the steadily improving dining scene of Kew – Mister Bianco delivers Italian perfection. The restaurateurs of Mezzo Bar have put together one of the best value and certainly one of the best Italian meals I’ve had in Melbourne.

Friday lunch time on a rainy day in Kew but we are full of sunshine as we visit Mezzo's new little brother Mister Bianco, it a gorgeous looking little space with plenty of happy people tucking into fabulous food. The sharing option is always a favourite and when lovely Joseph, the owner, suggests that we go with a degustation of sharing dishes we are only too happy to agree! With a lovely Swings and Roundabouts sparkling in our glasses we enjoy small plates of succulent sher wagyu meatballs 'messinese' with cous cous and an amazing tomato sugo along with arancini with spinach, provolone cheese and chilli. Gorgeous soft ciabatta rolls and olive oil and the restaurant is filled with the happy rumbles of everyone enjoying a leisurely lunch grazing through the fantastic menu. Burrata cheese with a roasted butternut pumpkin salad, black rice fritters, candied walnuts wild rocket is divine! Like a mozzarella but more creamy and loose, as per our friends at Wikipedia - When making Burrata, th
