Review Burgertory - Kew

Great local burger joint. Friendly staff giving helpful recommendation. Menu is interesting and it's a licensed premise. We ordered the Gluttony with double beef and friend chicken filling. It's everything you would want from a burger: soft toasted bun, patty is juicy and well seasoned and crispy fried chicken served with melting tasty cheese. Heart attack worthy! Generous serving so sharing is recommended. Would certainly be back to try out the other items.

Absolutely amazing. Can't describe how awesome it was. Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby. Staff were very helpful and let us take some of the massive meal home. Chips were beautiful and we'll seasoned.

Such a great place. The creative menu boasts many great options and everything we tried was terrific. The owner was very personable and accommodating. He even took my son back to the kitchen to meet the chef and allowed him to pick out his green bun (bid deal for a five year old)! If you're in the Kew area, definitely stop in... and try one of the milkshakes!

Excellent burgers. Buns and patties are top notch. Tried three different ones and all were spot on. Prices are reasonable. Chips were very good but I personally wouldn't order the extra loadings. Wasn't enough additional flavour for the $. Shakes were okay but I didn't like the fact they are served in plastic with a plastic straw. Strange as the burgers come on pretty fancy plates. You can also grab some Bitcoin whilst you wait for your order not that I would financially recommend that. Pity the area surrounding is kind of quiet with not many other outlets or interesting shops. Kew, great houses but otherwise a little dull.

Burger cravings are real and all I wanted was something stacked. Burgertory had the answer to my craving.<br/><br/>The gluttony consisted of fried chicken, double Wagyu patties, double bacon, Swiss and tasty cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, red onion and bacon mayo (that's right, bacon mayo). Everything worked perfectly, with so much meat there's the risk of it being a bit dry but the chicken and beef remained moist.<br/><br/>The waffle fries were a great side but a tad on the smaller side.<br/><br/>Overall a great burger joint with some amazing burger combos

If you’re looking to really get your hands into everything epic with burgers, this is your place! The burgers and sides here are incredible! We went on Valentine’s Day, because love is burgers! We ordered a triple cheese burger which was delicious! Absolutely juicy and full of just cheese, pickles and everything that just makes a burger amazing! My partner went mad and got a burger with beef, fried chicken, bacon and cheese! It was EPIC! But I just can’t go past the Mac and cheese on the fries! The best!!!

Seriously sexy sumptuous burgers! Served with great customer service and cool decor,eat in or take out this is our new favourite local fix, we decided to indulge for our workplace Australia Day lunch and we were all majorly impressed and satisfied. Loved my green bun and vegie ingredients with an egg and mustard; the others had the Wrath burger with pickles; the Raphael and Michael burgers also got rave reviews, their salads look and sound very delicious so will give them a try next time. Oh and the waffle fries and onion rings are super crunchy & yummy, got snapped up in seconds. Great work guys, you rock! p.s. they're also licensed in store :-)

Best vegetarian (falafel) burger in town and the potato gems and onion rings are really tasty as well. Lovely and quick service even during a busy lunchtime service. Would recommend.

Wasn’t a huge fan. Got it takeaway so obviously never going to be as good as eating it there but I thought it was just one of those big dirty burgers with not a heap of flavour. Tried 2 different burgers and wasn’t thrilled... too much bun and not overly fresh. Potato gems with mac and cheese good but not worth going too... never a fan of these gimmicky burger joints... much rather a normal burger done well

This place is never disappointed me! They have a good price and consistent taste. I always get the spicy burger, Wrath. The fries and milkshakes are the bomb. Staff are lovely!

Go and try this place out guys!! I have never been a fan of burger, but this place completely changed my opinion. The beef was medium grilled and it was amazing. In the photo is their Gluttony burger (2 beef 1 chicken with bacon and lettuce) top with Mac and Cheese (also tasted heavenly). We also ordered cheesy chicken wings (to place the wings on the plate for extra nice photos haha). We went by tram all the way from the CBD (took us around 30') and not regretting anything.

Very quiet Friday night catch up. First time at Bergertory. Sorry, but the pulled pork burger was way too salty, too 'saucy' and not hot enough. However I hear the pride burgers are better. The onion rings and chips are also very good. I'd go back just for the onion rings.

Went here recently as we saw they had mi goreng chicken wings & I’ve been wanting to go since they first opened. I got the Pride burger & my friend & I shared the mac & cheese fries and the mi cannot goreng chicken. The mac & cheese fries were really good! I thought they might have been spicy has they had little red dots all over them but they weren’t. They were as well not like your usual mac & cheese. The chicken wings were amazing! No faults about them. The burger was good too, the beef was cooked well & was juicy. Next time I go I really want to try one of there shakes as well as try the Gluttony burger.

Got the Respect Salad via Ubereats. The lamb was a fair amount of rare, but I guess to get it tender they need to cook it quick, but generally a really underwhelming salad for $26, even though lamb backstrap from the butchers probably isn't that cheap. I'm sure their burgers are pretty great, and would probably opt for one of those next time.

I was really happy with the take away I got from Burgertory.Kew. <br/>The Pride burger was simple but really fresh and tasty. The beef was cooked perfectly with the right amount of sauces. <br/>The Cheesy Load fries were also really good. I was worried they might be a bit overwhelming with the cheese sauce but they were fine. The bacon compliments the cheese and chips perfectly. <br/>Staff were very friendly and my order was prepared quickly. <br/>I highly recommend visiting Burgertory and I would return again. <br/>

The guy behind the counter is very friendly and place itself looks great, cool music and good vibe but ordered their vegetarian burger and was extremely disappointed. It said it had eggplant and grilled peppers which it did but when you pay 16 bucks for a burger I was expecting a big hunk of eggplant and peppers overflowing from the sides. Instead it was like a few TINY token slices of each under the falafel type burger. The actual taste of the burger  was quite nice but not by any stretch of the imagination worth $16. The meat burgers may be totally different but from a vegetarian standpoint their option was not up to scratch given the price.

Tasty burgers and sides too! The loose mac n cheese was amazing and highly recommend adding to your burger. Beautiful presentation too.<br/>Unfortunately shakes were a let down as they were quite milky and lacked flavour..

Lots of yummy options and want to come back to try the greed challenge burger. Chicken in lust burger was cooked very nicely. <br/>The Nutella burger was a yummy taste and texture combo.

Love this cute little burger shop, I really enjoy this place and the customer service was great the girl in the shop was super nice and helpful! The food was pretty good, I got the M/C Loaded, the Pride Burger and Orea Kidding Me Shake! The presentation of the food is really modern and fun, the M/C Loaded was so tasty, I really enjoyed it and ate all of it, I’m not much of a burger person but my friends really wanted to come so I decided to get the pride burger which was pretty good, and the shake was amazing! All up I really enjoyed this place, if your looking for yummy burgers and shakes this is the place for you

Soooo yummy!!! I had the Lust burger and loved it - pineapple in a burger is genius and I don’t see it enough!! We also had the Pride with bacon, and it was incredible too. Chips were great, as were the onion rings!! Service was friendly and prompt, all in all great experience - can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu!!

The red brioche bun on the chicken burger is pretty cool, but doesn't add anything to the flavor of the burger. Enjoyed the combination of chicken and pineapple not normally something you find in today's modern burgers, chips were also well cooked.

Ordered the Lust chicken burger, my partner had the Pride beef burger with bacon, and we both ordered a side of Plain Jane fries.<br/><br/>The chicken itself was cooked well but was a tad bland - the pineapple made up for it though. my review got deleted i guess i was a bit graphic so i will censor it... look i really don't like giving bad reviews but i'm telling it like it was. conditions: ordered using uber eats, so this could have something to do with the state of the meal. this is the second worst meal i have had in the past year, this is why: burgers were not good at all, couldn't even feel or taste the meat when i took a bite (crumbled up/disintegrated), sauce and mustard tasted like the cheapest packet sauce you can get, bad mustard taste overwhelmed the burger. we could not actually finish the burger it turned us off that much. the aioli we bought extra - i couldn't even bring myself to try it as it looked like jellied *censored*, it made me sick just looking at it. fries were ok. the best part of the meal - no exaggeration - was the can of coke, it arrived decently cold. again - i'm sorry to make this review but it has to be done. maybe eating-in-store would be better.

Amazing! I am a big burger person and have had many of Melbourne's best and Burgertory is definitely up high on the list. Perfectly cooked beef and crispy friend chicken. Don't forget to order the Mac n Cheese fries!

Went for the Pride burger with fries. Burger was decent but the brioche bun tasted a little dry. Fries were good, service not too bad. Will go back to try the rather decadent looking shakes and will be hoping for a better burger experience.

Came here with a friend for dinner tonight. I really liked the look of this burger joint. The staff were eager to please and were extremely helpful in assisting us in deciding what dishes to order. The sign says "Sinfully Delicious" and it certainly was! The burgers are named after the 7 deadly sins and I chose the Greed burger (with a few alterations), as well as the wings,  chips and a Nutella shake. The burger in a brioche bun was absolutely massive (4 meat patties) and juicy - the meat was cooked well. The chips I found were quite nice although I thought thick cut chips might have suited better. - there were 4 types of chips including cheesey and chilli ones. Unfortunately, the wings were a bit of a disappointment. They looked appealing but they were a bit tasteless - there were 3 varieties to choose from. The Nutella shake was so delicious and not too sweet at all - salty pretzels helped with the sweetness. The flavours blended well. Also available were alcoholic shakes and burger desserts. Kids dishes as well. I will most likely be back to try a different burger, chips, wings and shake!

Freakin’ love the concept of this place, every burger named after one of the seven deadly sins. And they are deadly, if you consider massive and filling deadly.<br/>I went with the lust burger; fried chicken with pineapple amongst other delicious stuff on a red bun. Topping it off with loaded fries and an Oreo shake and I rolled outta here a very happy gal ❤️🙌🏼

We chose Uber Eats to bring our burgers. I had a chicken burger which was probably one of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever had. I loved the beetroot bun. This was a first for me.<br/><br/>The potato gems were equally as amazing! 5/5 so far hahaha <br/><br/>I tried the Mac n Cheese chips that I really liked but my partner didn’t like them at all. Then the chips went cold and well they lost their shine.<br/><br/>I tried a beef burger and it was woeful. Just awful. The bun tasted like sugar and it just fell apart. <br/><br/>My partner got a double beef, double chicken burger which was HUGE! I didn’t try it but I was alright. I’ve tried a lot of burger places this year, and I can safely say this makes its way into my favourites. The loaded fries were delicious, the beef cooked to perfection (pink through the middle), juicy succulent chicken and I personally loved the combo of American and Swiss cheese on my burger. The shakes were great (could perhaps had a bit more of a Nutella kick but still delicious), and the catered for all of our (outrageous) requests (see photos)! On top of it all the theme is super clever (and something not many places really do), and the venue is surprisingly big, with and upstairs section as well.

Good Lord this place is good. (Not another burger joint?) Better than expected, have tried a few new burger places in the last few months and had a wave of disappointment. This really stood out. Excellent loaded fries with Mac and cheese, phwoar they were great! Burgers cooked PERFECT, medium unlike some places that serve overcooked charred burgers, top fried chicken too! Even had a dirty oreo shake to wash it down, photos don't do it justice, check them out. Also venue is deceivingly big!

Burgertory is the kind of place that was made for cheat days. I was ecstatic to be invited along to a blogger event as I’d seen their seriously impressive towers on instagram and was keen to see how they measured up. I am delighted to report that the lust burger is my new favourite, a worthy successor to my previous number one preference from YOMG. Served in a gorgeous red brioche bun stuffed with a giant amount of delicious southern fried chicken this was the perfect burg in every way. <br/>I love the play on purgatory and the theming around the seven deadly sins for the seven burgers offered on the menu. It suits the concept of burgers to a t! The devilishly tempting fries are also the perfect accompaniment to the phenomenal burgers. My favourite were the loaded Mac and cheese. We also tried the mi goreng coated chicken drumsticks which was something a bit unique and once again echoed the theme of their branding being sinfully delicious. <br/>It sometimes feels like Melbourne has maxed out on burger joints but this one is definitely here to stay. For only having been opened since September they’ve nailed their concept and offering. All the burgers look sensational and everything is quite reasonably priced for the quality and phenomenal flavours. <br/>I washed my burger down with the Oreo shake which was impressively topped with an ice cream sandwich. I could really taste the Oreo in this unlike many of these shakes I’ve had where you simply taste chocolate and it’s merely garnished with an Oreo (don’t worry this had an Oreo on top in ADDITION to the cookie sandwich) seriously so bad it’s good. <br/>Overall a faultless meal. I also thoroughly enjoyed watching some of the more hardcore burger fans demolish combos of 4 beef patties, 2 chicken, 4 bacon and 8 cheese- talk about a heart attack waiting to happen, but definitely a good way to go.<br/>Sadly I don’t think I’ll be going to heaven when I die but at least I could experience it for the night

I for the wrath burger, and we got the Mac and cheese fries to share with the bacon. I’m someone who handles spicy extremely well, and this had a slight tang to it which was nice to actually see. I would have preferred chips rather than shoestring fries, and it would have been better in a wider but more shallow bowl as getting fries out was a chore. Overall I was quite impressed, well done!

burgertory.kew hit the scene in September 2017 and have hit with a bang, they have themed the best of both worlds, being good and evil at the same time.<br/><br/>The burgers are named after the 7 deadly sins - Pride, Wrath, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Envy and Greed. The fries come either plane, cheesy, chilly or with Mac n Cheese. The fried chicken is coated with Mi Goreng and they have a great range of freaky shakes - what's not to love!<br/><br/>Burgers range from $13 - $23

The wrath burger was spicy and hit the spot, the Swiss cheese blended well with the rest of the flavors. Cheese sauce were yum! It's a house made cheese sauce which is great to see. I'll be back to try the chicken burger soon :)

Great burger ( I had the plain Jane) great music and atmosphere. Staff friendly. Loaded fries are loaded on the top of a small bucket with air under so not great value but yum. Staff got my order wrong and overcharged me. Would've been nice for for them to fix that.<br/>Would go back but.just to have a burger and not worry about chips

Came here with a couple of friends for a quick bite to eat. We all had the vegetarian burger and shared a plain Jane fries. The burger was good and didn’t leave me feeling bloated which is always a plus. The atmosphere is very cute and I am keen to come back to try other items on the menu!

We ordered the wrath and lust burgers, with a side of the chilli fries with pulled pork. Everything exceeded our expectations! The fries were absolutely delicious, the addition of the pulled pork is a must, and it goes perfectly with the sauce...which isn't too spicy. The wrath burger however, it was like a fire in my mouth! My bf loved it because of the spiciness, but unfortunately the sauce was a little over my tolerance. The chicken burger was delicious though, and the house sauce was lovely. We both love our burgers, and really enjoyed the burgers here. Well worth a visit for burger enthusiasts!

Had the burgers fries and shakes in this new joint. Shakes was ok. Burger was too moist and meat tasted old. Felt like i was going to have a heart attack after. And not in the good way.

Funky restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. We were welcomed with warm smiles and hearty hellos. <br/>I ordered the plain burger and it has to be one of the better burgers that. I've had in a long time. The beef patty was seasoned perfectly and was juicy and just melted in your mouth. <br/>The plan fries were great and we enjoyed the bacon mayo dipping sauce, but found the bacon pieces a bit too big. <br/>My friend also enjoyed her burger and thought that her shake was great!! <br/>We would definitely come back and recommend it anyone out there looking for a good burger!!

Burgertory - a very unique burger joint in Kew! From the front, it looks like a small burger cafe, however as you enter; you'll start to realise this place is huge (with 2 stories)! Burgers and shakes are it's core menu - both tasted amazing and juicy! We were fortunate enough to come for a visit and try it's 'Lust' and 'Gluttony' burgers with a couple of shakes. Burgers are very differently served at Burgertory with its face up right from service which we loved - it's an absolute genius idea. No oil stains to ruin my bottom bun! Overall, we'd definitely come back - Great burgers and down to earth owners makes this an easy decision.

Pretty solid range of burgers, fries and shakes!! There is something for everyone to try and the fried chicken was nice and tasty. Shakes went down well and was all enjoyed.

The burgers are fine, the American style that's popular at the moment with tasteless cheese and not much salad. The chicken was tender but had no flavour or spice. Even the pickles are dulled down. I wonder if all the other reviewers are friends of the owner, all rated 5.... highly unlikely score! Close to home so an option for a hangover / greasy treat as an alternative to Macca's but don't go out of your way

Best burgers I have ever had! Great service and atmosphere. I traveled from Mt Waverley but worth every kilometers. You must try the milk shakes, they are unbelievable!!!

What can i say, food was incredible i got the wrath burger and it had the perfect amount of kick to it, meat was super juicy and tender, bacon was crispy and to die for. Decided to treat myself to a 'Nutella My Savior' shake and i enjoyed every last sip. staff was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Good choice of music too. Will definitely be back soon

From the atmosphere, flavour and service, Burgertory was nothing short of angelic. The burger was sublime, the shake was heavenly and the cheesy fries will plague my dreams until my next visit. A must visit.

A necessary visit in Kew whether you live near or far. Catering for absolutely everyone, I had the Envy burger which was heaven for a veg option, a cheeky chicken off the kiddies menu for my younger cousin. Super helpful and friendly staff, fantastic coffee and freakshakes, clean comfy space with great tunes. Loved it! Will definitely be back!

I would like to thank Burgertory in Kew so very much for the amazing experience. The food was phenomenal - I ordered the gluttony with the chicken patty on the side as I wanted to try it separately (I'm a big chicken fan). The burger was amazing - not greasy and the perfect amount of filling for the bun size. The ambience of the place was also fantastic, I loved the music and the service was great too. Would return back undoubtedly! They also make a great coffee :)

Burgertory in Kew opened its doors last week and were ready to rock! The shop front, on High St, is well designed with a the catchy slogan "Sinfully Delicious" inviting it's customers inside for a feast. The wall art inside is awesome, inspired by The Creation of David and a tale of how Burgertory came into existence on the other. A good read, while waiting for your food.<br/>​​<br/>The staff are super friendly and eager to serve you the best meals possible. All the burgers on the menu are named after one of the 7 Deadly Sins with a range of milkshakes, loaded fries & additional sides available as well. <br/><br/>My friend ordered the "Gluttony" ($16) and I ordered the "Lust" ($14). We also ordered a chocolate milkshake & the Mac n Cheese loaded fries, with bacon crumbs ($8.50).<br/><br/>My friend was worried about the size of the Gluttony, as it came with two beef patties, chicken AND bacon, but when it came out, it was a very decent size. Not overwhelming like a lot of the "challenge" burgers that are available at the moment. He finished the whole thing, said the beef patties were excellent and didn't feel like he had the food coma that usually comes with bigger burgers. <br/>​​<br/>I was impressed by the pink bun that came with the Lust - the chicken patty was a bit smaller than the bun, which was a shame, but the flavours were phenomenal. I'd added bacon as well, so that helped. The chicken was crunchy, juicy and delicious and the bun was nice & fluffy.<br/>​​<br/>The Mac n Cheese loaded fries were absolutely delicious! The cheese was melted over shoestring fries and topped with shallots, paprika & bacon dust. YUM! My only criticism is that the cheese was all on the top, which meant that a lot of the chips didn't have anything on them. So maybe a lasagne-style layering system might have been better. <br/> <br/>​<br/>The milkshake was nice and came served in a tall glass, topped with Ferrero Rocher, wafer straws & cream. We shared this, as we'd already finished our burgers, and it was the perfect end to the meal. <br/>​​<br/>I would highly recommend Burgertory as a great new burger joint in the Easter Suburbs. We tried the Lust and the Sloth burgers tonight (chicken and pulled pork respectively) and were very impressed! The balance of flavours was wonderful and all of the ingredients tasted fresh, in particular the buns. Excited to return and taste the M/C Fries!

Wow...i had the wrath and it was amazing. Cooked to perfection. Iv had alot of burgers around Melbourne and this is really up there with the best. Just opened so i imagen in a couple months this place will be pumping. The chilli fries are also a must try. Friendly staff too

Feel bad leaving a bad review as it was pretty much opening night but service was okay, seemed rushed. My burger was expensive, only flaw I would have is the prices. For the quality you're getting, it's far to expensive. Would I give it another go? Maybe when it's opened for a little longer as the service wasn't the greatest either.
