Review Six Slices Pizza Bar - Kew

Stephan Klatt
Delicious gluten-free pizza with vegan cheese. Sounds weird? No, actually it's pretty awesome. Until today I never enjoyed a gluten-free and dairy-free pizza, but this one you have to try (especially when you have special dietary requirements). Soo goood. I had it with 4 meats, but I think just take a topping you like. The normal pizza was also delicious, and so was the dessert.

The 6 slice option is gimmicky and overpriced however the standard pizza options are tasty, the restaurant itself is rather cramped

Fantastic experience! The best pizza that I had ever eaten.

30 minutes late for take away, 50 min total Under cooked, centre of base was still doughy $53 for to medium sized pizza that should be perfect. Rude staff talking in Italian in front of me. Save your money. Or go to Rita's in Collingwood and flour and salt in Fairfield is great to.

Would have to be in the top 10 pizza in Melbourne. The bases really are nicely done, long ferment, flavoursome. The toppings are interesting, and quality. Thoroughly recommended, very authentically Italian

I had a dinner with my family, 6 of us. We got arancini, polenta chips, fresh calamari and grilled octopus to share. For main we got the Six Slices pizza with prawns, scallops and Lamb. Everything was amazing and delicious. The staff was very friendly. Thanks to everyone.

Food was great. With such high pricing though, you'd expect service to be great. That is the case with the manager but not the waitress who was serving us. To call her rude is an understatement, if the kids were not hungry we would have left on the spot. Don't go there unless you enjoy being insulted in front of your family.

Pizzas were amazing!!!
The dough/bases were thin and bubbly and delicious. Perfectly topped, the margarita really was a standout.
The rocket and pear salad was also full of flavour and both my friend and I polished every morsel off.
Amazing service from the owner Dom. I will be coming back for sure and can't wait to bring more friends here for delicious food!!!

I came here a couple of weeks ago with a friend for a weeknight dinner. We had the Verdura pizza, polenta chips and the rocket and walnut salad as well as some desserts - the doughnuts and the cannolis.
The pizza was cold and the salad was subpar but the polenta chips were delicious. The desserts were also very good and definitely the highlight for me. Shouldn't a pizza place have better pizza though?
The service was absolutely terrible. We were only given one menu, the waiters kept walking past and ignoring us even though we were ready to order and had tried to get their attention, they tried taking our plates away when we hadn't finished and we waited over an hour for dessert. I would not come back until the service ameliorated itself greatly to give it a second chance.

We chose a pizza from the Six Slices range. The ‘Prawns – pan-fried King Prawns wrapped in pancetta and zucchini cream ($34.00)’ pizza was lavishly presented and almost looked like the sea meeting the garden. The saltiness of the pancetta and caviar was balanced by the mellowness of the zucchini cream.

Six Slices Pizza Bar is the new venture by the same team responsible for Zero95 and Zero95 express. While Zero95 is defined more by their use of traditional techniques and recipes, as well as the home of the best margherita pizza in the world, Six Slices looks more to innovate and push boundaries while still drawing inspiration from their traditional roots.

Their signature pizzas are fantastic! Well the one we tried anyway. The Beetroot. They are thick bases, but fancy! The flavours and textures of the toppings were great. We also had polenta chips, which were sooo good. The restaurant looks great too and the service is attentive, friendly and genuine.

Unfortunately not great food. I decided to treat myself to a night in with UberEats, and for $58 I was expecting something special. The gnocchi was good, however the only thing I would order again was the melted cheese on top of it because, lets face it, cheese is delicious. Polenta chips were tough and chewy but also wet and cold because the sauce had been poured straight on top before transit. I guess I don't know what else to say other than I really wish I had read the reviews first.

Waitress was rude. Food was incredibly average for the price. Made us move seats during our meal, to accommodate others. Would not recommend.

A solution to a problem that does not exist. Their special pizzas are thick bready wet things. Yuk. The standard pizzas look ok. Margarita was fine but expensive. Do yourself a favour and go up the road to Pinocchio which is not fantastic but certainly better.

First time trying this place which recently opened up.
The interiors are clean, but along with the music the atmosphere is very warm and comfortable.
All the wait staff are attentive and prompt, also they mostly seem to speak Italian which adds to the experience.
Both pizzas were delicious, fresh ingredients with ample topping.
Will be back.

Six Slices Pizza Bar is the newest restaurant from Andrea Cozzolino and Francesco Crifo, who also own Zero95 in Doncaster. The popularity of Zero95 and the desire to forge new ground on the pizza front, led them to open shop right at the heart of Kew Junction. Andrea won the Caputo Trophy for Neapolitan pizza at the 2016 Pizza Chef World Championships in Naples, so they certainly know a thing or two about them.
