Review Il Amalfi Pizza Pasta - Kew

I have ordered from here many times before, and have been happy in the past. Tonight however I am very disappointed. Pizza was awful. The dough was hard and tasted stale, as did the toppings. The pasta tasted as if it was pre-prepared 2-3 days ago, and slopped into a tray to be re-heated. Coagulated and grey is the nicest way I could describe it. $65 wasted. Won’t be going here again, and would not recommend to anyone else

Amalfi pizza are good pizzas done consistently well. Loads of toppings, great bases and with gluten free options too. Deals and prices are more than reasonable. Delivery is quick most times. Can't fault these guys, reliable, quality pizzas done old school style. Not fancy, but flavoursome.

Every person need to try Amalfi pizzasat your respective places. They are well know for pizzas with good quality toppings and well organised pizzas. Mainly the staff are very responsible and humble towards customers.And they deliver food very quick and efficient. And all the prices are very reasonable that even a school going student can afford to pizza with his pocket money. Thank you Amalfi pizza and pasta for your contribution towards food industry.

Tried to order a takeaway pizza at 9.50 pm on Saturday night. Said they had to check with driver after app wasn’t working then said only pick up only. Website advertises closing time of 3am. Poor experience. Wouldn’t waste my time with these guys again.

Tried ordering though Uber eats, after 5 cancellations with drivers, and waiting for an hour and a half of waiting, I never got my pizza in the end. Thankfully I received a full refund but I knew they were trying to get me to cancel by dragging it out and then still getting their moneys worth. Lazy, couldn’t even make a pizza… GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!

Yesterday I have ordered Pasta and that was a great taste actually. I liked the pasta much and the service provided by them is good enough.

That’s the food I paid $40 for! I ordered spaghetti and got this rigatoni instead of. And what about this “potato”? Burnt, no tasty at all!! Called and spoke to Matt (at least this was the name He said to me) and he didn’t even try to help me at all. Only repeated the same sentence “you need to call Uber”. I’ve requested my refund (of course!!!) trough Uber but is unacceptable they don’t even try to help. And worst than that, he said I’ve got the wrong order because they sold out the spaghetti and they tried to give me a call. The whole time I was close to my phone tracking the order and never ever received a call from them. And if it’s sold out why don’t put sold out as they have other items marked as sold out. This restaurant is a shame. Never lose your time ordering from them!

Delivered hot and delicious! Would order again. <br/>Tasty and reasonably priced. Garlic bread was a winner as always. Was very happy with the order through Uber eats

The staff members are very polite and friendly. They make pretty delicious pizzas in a very short amount of time. The pizza are also fairly thick. I would recommend this pizza place.

I wasn't too hopeful about my choices of takeaway at 2.30am on a Tuesday morning, but when my Veggie Calzone arrived, I was delighted beyond belief. Tastiest Calzone ever, arrived hot, perfect mix of ingredients, cooked to perfection. I never wanted it to end. I'll definitely be ordering from this restaurant again. Bravo Il Amalfi!

Food is Not worth the money. Poor, rude and unprofessional customer service if there is something wrong and it's their mistake. Not recommended.

Pretty average... Ordered online received a SMS stating it delivery time 60 Minutes. Took nearly 90 minutes. Called at 70 minutes and they said it was out on delivery but he had multiple orders.<br/>Pizza and Calzone were dark/burnt. Won't be ordering again, shame considering they are so close to us.

Have been a loyal customer of this place for years.<br/>Ordered tonight (August 12) at 11:00pm. It's 12:40am, still no food delivered. Staff over the phone, Alec, not helpful. Hung up on me. <br/>Still nothing has arrived.<br/>From Kew to Hawthorn East ... no delivery in over 90 mins, is not acceptable. Will not order from them again. Response has been absolutely terrible.

Overall very impressed with my first time to try IL AMalfi pizzas . <br/>Ordered through menu log , I called to confirm the estimated wait time before I received the text message . A nice man on the phone said 30 mins . <br/>After I hung up received the Text which said one hour . A Little confused but sure enough around 25 minutes our order arrived piping hot and delicious . <br/>Paid cash , nice delivery man . No issues . <br/><br/>Impressed with the flavour and amount of toppings .a little oily , but I like my pizza full flavoured and Meat laden . Garlic bread tiny bit burnt but great amount of garlic and butter yum ! <br/>I Will 100% order these pizzas again . <br/>Chose the deal with two large pizzas garlic bread and soft drink with the $6 delivery . $35 in total . <br/>(Ordered extras on pizza around 1.50/ 2 extra . <br/>Overall very happy . <br/>Recommend : yes

These pizzas... Wowee! Myself and housemates are regulars here! I've eaten here so many times I'm on my way to obesity!<br/><br/>For a place that quite literally is a small take away pizza joint they make a bloody brilliant pizza! Each ingredient is so tasty and fresh, right down to the base sauce. <br/><br/>Usually you wouldn't expect a pizza outlet like this to actually produce nice pasta dishes but THEY DO! They're always fresh, tasty and satisfying! <br/><br/>To top this place off is the great price you pay for quality, consistent take away pizza.

After two hours and twenty minutes I decided to cancel my meal. After calling twice, being told it would be fifteen minutes away each time, it was getting a bit ridiculous. If you want to wait forever for your meal, this is the place to go.

A change for the not so sure its better. As a local and now regular customer of Il Amalfi, i have come to really enjoy my meals here. Since I stumbled across the store a few months ago, I have been converted, So glad to have found them. Delicious, fresh pasta has had me running back for more since my first visit.<br/> <br/>My absolute favourite is the beef lasagne, it is one of the tastiest and moorish lasagne I have eaten. The bolognaise sauce, so flavoursome and rich, certainly not what I expected from a local pizza shop.<br/><br/>BUT I must confess, the last two occassions I have ordered, i noticed a real difference In the flavour and taste.<br/>Whilst still ok, its definitely not the same Lasagne and beautiful sauce I have become so addicted to. <br/>Guess I'll have to find a new favourite on their menu.

Great service good pricing surprised but super impressed

I knew I was in trouble when I tried to place a delivery order and the guy pronounced calabrese "calabrez". After being told delivery would be an hour we decided to do a pick up which I was told would be ready in 20 minutes. Got there waited an additional 20 minutes for food. Ordered the satay pizza which tasted like bitter red wine that had been microwaved. Absolute rubbish threw it in the bin. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

Ray&jane. We have had food for here not long ago and it was good but a few weeks later the pasta is now to die for great taste, cooked perfect with great flavour was very happy, garlic bread with perfect amount of garlic butter, if your looking for great cooking order here!!!!

Decent food, great value. Ordered from these guys off menulog because it was after midnight so our usual pizza guys were closed. <br/>First comment: Amazing prices for the meal deals. $25 for two massive pizzas (loads of toppings) garlic bread + 1.25L is great. <br/>Good selection of drinks too.<br/>It's not what I'd call restaurant quality, but if you are after a big cheap feed it certainly does the job! <br/>Not super greasy either.

A TRUE HIDDEN GEM!. Under new management, Il Amalfi, or Papa Luke's as formerly known; has done a complete 180 degree turn in terms of service AND quality of food.<br/><br/>Simply put, new, passionate staff and chefs makes a very noticeable difference to the food and service. An INSTANT reccomendation would be the Gnnochi Carbonara with a garlic bread. <br/><br/>All food is made fresh (AND IT SHOWS), and you don't get this sort of intimacy with larger, higher-up chains up the road. A real hidden gem away in the suburbs, hope they never change recipes or ownership.<br/><br/>11/10, A++ - not a paid review, but a genuine customer who has been swept off their feet and compelled to write a review.

Communication is the key. Ordered a half souvlaki half tandoori pizza. When delivered I noticed that neither pizza had sauce and thought they may have forgot to place it on at the end. I called the shop and the guy told me he thought the whole pizza was souvlaki and he had ran out of tzatziki lso he sent the pizza anyway (they have their sauces in a side container like a dipper) and if he had known there was tandoori he would of sent the yogurt. <br/><br/>I can understand that shops run out but no call to confirm that it was okay to send the pizza or even a message with the delivery driver to say sorry. The half hearted sorry when I rang was pretty poor to, whilst the pizza was reasonably good small things like poor communications kills businesses

Loads of toppings, just not very tasty. I wasn't really impressed at all. I much prefer Bivio on High Street.

Burnt pizza. Ordered four pizzas - ALL BURNT! Garlic bread also BURNT! $60 worth of pizza and it was so dissapointing! Never going there again!

BEST SERVICE EVERRRRRRR!!!!. Delicious vege lasagne!!! Ordered through Menulog and arrived to pick up order, the order was incorrect and they were closed, but they were AWESOME and rustled up the yummiest lasagne for us. So friendly! Great price, top quality! Thanks heaps guys! :D

Very staisfied. After the last two owners of papa Lukes I was starting to lose faith in pizza from this location. Being a local for over 9 years I've frequented this pizza joint many time for better or for worse. I can say without doubt I had the best capriciossa in years from this place tonight. It was excellent and will definitely return in future

A nice suprise. Ordered a large House Special for pick up. Thought I'd give it a try, under new management and all. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed that it was Europeans cooking Italian Cuisine, what a nice surprise! Was really impressed with my pizza. A crispy base, flavoursome taste, quality ingredients and friendly service! Will definitely return.

Water into wine. Just noticed papa Lukes had closed down tonight when passing by and had reopened under new management as amalfi. Thought I'd risk it and give it a go and was REALLY glad I did! The new staff are lovely and the pizza I had was fantastic! Thanks guy's! Have been in Kew for around a year now and was really missing having a good local pizza shop. Only disappointment was ordering a large when I should have ordered a family! Looking forward to coming back and giving your hand made pasta a go!
