Review The Burger Block - Kew

Grugs Burgers
Great burgers and with a great variety to the menu and with some Asian flavoured burgers as well. They also do keto burgers..
Elizabeth Smith
Thanks so much for offering keto friendly options. The fat boy slim burger and phat pizza were delicious. If you’re keto LCHF do yourself a favour and come try it for yourself. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Was looking on the internet for ages looking for keto fast-food and found this place I cane in and ordered the FAT BOY SLIM burger for $20.50 Was great I loved every bit of it keep in mind the pictures make them look a lot larger than they are but they are the perfect size in the end they just look small because of the low carb buns A+ also we got the PHAT PIZZA for $11 This was tiny I think it really needs to at least double in size for that price. I'll post a picture of the actual size. My friend got the snack pack style chips I don't remember the name but that was also tiny for the $16 they charged. Overall though the food was amazing ill be back for sure even if i do fell that some of the pricing is steep. Highly recommend to anyone else doing KETO. 👍

One of the best value burger in town. Taste is fantastic, the actual burger is bigger than the menu photos. They also use paper straw, which is very environmentally friendly. The staff are very nice and they have gone through the menu with us with alot of patience.

This is an amazing keto brunch spot, a bit on the expensive side, but the Tom yum konjac noodles was amazing and the keto burger even better.
Nolan Melhart
The black pepper sauce on the blackjack burger was amazing, sweet, spicy and highly recommended. Burgers were a bit higher priced than other shops but were also quite filling and taste fantastic.

Fantastic to find a place to take our keto mother for mother's Day. Was brilliant service and delicious food, cake was also beautiful!
Alexander White
Awsome burger! Loving the keto options and so happy it's here. Burger was delicious and perfect size.

Your burgers are exceptionally good and I cannot fault the food. However, over the past months of looking at your menu I continue to be absolutely flabbergasted at the use of the word ‘Jap’. I realise that this is likely written without malice and more out of ignorance. I would be remiss to continue to ignore this and not bring it up, as I believe now more than ever it is the responsibility of all of us to call out this sort of casual tone deaf racism. I would really appreciate if you could address this issue or offer an explanation as to your rationale for keeping the wording.

Absolutely loved my Black Jack burger, unique taste and filling to the point where i didn’t ill. Cant fault it. My friend had the chicken teriyaki burger and had similar reviews. Chips were great, loved the atmosphere of a local, family owned little burger joint.

Delicious, juicy burgers! The wait staff were helpful offering up suggestions of the most popular burgers. The ordering set up could be better (it’s a small corner of the counter) and the loaded fries didn’t feel that loaded (a tub of sauce at the side).<br/><br/>But overall, it was a pleasant cosy dining experience thats missing at the big chain outlets.

This has been the only place I&#039;ve found to serve amazing keto friendly dishes! All the dishes are extremely generous servings and the fat boy slim burgers are just as good as non-keto burgers! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the keto diet and lifestyle and we&#039;re wonderful in helping me choose the best products to purchase. I&#039;m so glad I&#039;ve found this cafe, I will definitely be back and highly recommend it for anyone on a keto diet or anyone looking for good food!
Life Cycle
Great burger.  I had the keto burger due to my keto diet :(. Glad I enjoyed the tasty burger.    I wish I am off the keto diet to try the rest of the burger.   The menu looks incredible and super yummy.   Great friendly service. The only thing I wish they could change is the opening hours. Just seem strange to me that a burger place would open at 9.30am and close at 3.30pm.  I would have liked to drop in in the evenings for pick up.  Other than that, I am glad I found a great burger place.  Try it out and support the young couple who runs it.

Such a cosy cafe with amazing keto friendly food! Everything tasted great and staff were super welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be back.

The burgers here are so tasty. As a burger connoisseur I rate this place highly!! With fair pricing, delicious chips and friendly service I am looking forward to my next visit!
Hello. Imnikki
4.5<br/><br/>The Burger Block might be small in size but packs a huge punch with its mouth-watering Asian fusion burgers. Both the Satay Chicken burger and Green Lantern burger that my partner and I had were delicious. The chips were great too - hot and crunchy!<br/><br/>The chicken was tender and juicy, and came with the most delightfully satay sauce. Same could be said for the beef burger too. The wasabi mayo gave the burger a lovely flavour kick. Personally I would have preferred the beef patty to be rarer but I couldn't fault the taste.<br/><br/>I had the Thai Milk Tea to wash down my meal and it had just the right thickness and creaminess without being too heavy.<br/><br/>Super friendly and welcoming service from the owner, who took the time to go through the menu with us and also checked on how the meal was.<br/>

I love the concept of a Keto cafe and all things low carb. Just wished the seats were not metal. Metal seats are for outdoors. It is so cold. Seating is such a big deal with influencing ambience. But service was great. The Host was very informative and knew all the menu recommendations and Keto products really well. Will be back with friends. Would like to try the Bulletproof coffee also next time.

Nice burger in the neighborhood with a lot of choices!Staffs are friendly. The wasabi one is not very strong wasabi flavor as I thought it should be.If you wanna get some Asian fusion burger, come here!
Emily
Super friendly and polite staff. Its a fusion burger joint so there are a few varieties of burgers with different sauces. The fries were quite good nicely seasoned. Got the additional dip sauces that went well with the fries. The burgers were generously big with a good balance of meat to condiments and sauce ratio.<br/>The burgers do take abit longer but definitely worth the wait. The sets make the burgers and fries more worth it as it comes with a choice of drink as well.<br/>Would recommend for sure ;)

We had the ‘Choka block’ and the ‘Screwdriver’, chips and the fried dim sims. We were very impressed with the flavours and juiciness of the burgers. We’ll be back!

A little cafe tucked away from the quiet part of Kew. We decided to try out The Burger Block as they seem to have very special burgers.<br/><br/>We ordered the Eureka Tower, satay chicken burger, onion rings and hot chips. The burgers did not disappoint, although I found my satay burger a little too salty. The onion rings were awesome, hot chips were crispy on the inside and creamy on the outside.<br/><br/>I found the price of the burgers reasonable although it would be great if the burgers included chips. That would make it great value. <br/><br/>The cafe is small but while we were there, we can see that they received many delivery and takeaway orders. The owners were friendly too.<br/><br/>If you are wanting to try out special Asian fusion burgers then The Burger Block is the place to go!

So yum. Am trying to get through their menu... Every one I've tried has been great. Loaded fries are epic. Super friendly service and prices are very reasonable!
Chris.foodie.clarke
was recommended to come here by a friend and it did not disappoint! I tried the black jack and it was delicious. My girlfriend had the yellow block road and also agreed it was great. the buns used were so tasty too

One of the best veggie burgers going around. Good chips too. Check it out for a great burger in the Kew area. This last line is just to meet the 140 character limit of reviews.

Believe the hype! This place first came to my attention on the news and I thought next time I'm in Kew I'll give it a go and I'm glad I did ! <br/>Very cosy little cafe hidden away and some very interesting Asian inspired burgers to choose from.<br/>I decided to be a little boring and tried one of the more standard burgers (the Black Jack) that had mushrooms in it and must say the bun was fantastic and some was the combination of the flavours! <br/>The seaweed aioli fries looked promises but ended up being okay. Next time I'll try the other lodes fries they have 🙂<br/>
Nay Nay
This place isn't too fancy but it doesn't stop them in delivering some god damn good burgers. I'm not a burger person but this burger hit the spot. A great bun, well cooked chicken accompanied with a great sauce.
Good Food Good Mood
So lovely to be invited to The Burger Block last night. I love a good burger and this was the most indulgent of cheat meals. Differentiated from your typical burger spot by billing themselves as fusion, this family run venue is providing an Asian twist to the uber popular it food of the moment by offering ramen burger buns, tempura fish burgers, Japanese mayo as well as nori dusted fries. We decided to keep it pretty traditional but my burger did have an Asian spin on it given it was teriyaki chicken.<br/>Owner Brenda spoke passionately about her love of food and travel exploring new eateries to find inspiration she applies in her kitchen like the latest menu item the curry cheese fries she tried on a recent trip to New Zealand. Something very different and absolutely delicious I couldn't stop shovelling this in my mouth! <br/>She is also a very talented barista creating the most creative latte art I've seen in a while (apparently a family trait) and whipped up a cute little puppy to go in our cappuccino. So adorable you almost didn't want to drink it! <br/>The menu is also helpfully displaying pictorially to aid your decision making. This led me to the nutty professor shake which was a sensation of salted caramel and peanut butter topped with gorgeous candied popcorn. One of the most delicious drinks I've had it was quickly devoured. <br/> My dining companion tackled the spanner which was level 3 of 5 in 'The Block Legend' burgers encompassing 3 x beef, 3 x bacon and 3 x cheese washed down with a berry smoothie. I observed him throughly enjoying myself as he grappled to finish #greedy. Level 5 includes you guessed it 5 x all of the above, only the brave could handle it. They also have a 1.5 kg and 3kg burger! Such a fun thing to attempt either solo or with a group of friends. Are you up for the challenge?
Espy Eats
I have been seeing images of giant burgers on Zomato for some time now and they have been creating the cravings so was happy to get to try one tonight at The Burger Block. This little cafe located in the Willsmere Road shops, has been in the same family for 17 years but has only more recently changed its focus from daytime cafe to a devilish asian fusion burger cafe.<br/><br/>They have some extreme burgers here. At the crazy end of town is the 1.5kg and 3kg stacks which form part of some serious eating challengers as seen on both the 7 & 9 TV networks. I wasn't up for that challenge despite the promise of merch, discount cards and being pinned to their wall of fame (if you come in under their maximum eating time requirements).<br/><br/>Instead I ordered the Spanner Burger which was a midrange triple stack beef, bacon, and cheese in the block series of burgers. It came out towering high so can't imagine what the 4th or 5th stack would look like. It tasted delightful with melted cheese and a special Asian fusion sauce that trickled through my fingers as I struggled to eat with my hands (one of my requirements for the test of a good burger). Messy work but doable and oh so worth it. <br/><br/>Good Food Good Mood tried the less extreme Teriyaki chicken burger, sans onions which also came out mighty and well presented. <br/><br/>We both indulged in the curry chips with a cheesy and Japanese curry sauce. This dish was inspired by owner Brenda Tuong's visit to Queenstown NZ and trying a very similar dish over there. She explained that she just had to have it on her menu and I say why not. Fried potato 👍🏼 Japanese curry 👍🏽 cheese 👍🏾. Worth popping in just for this dish alone.<br/><br/>To go with our burgers we tried The Nutty Professor which was a peanut butter, salted caramel milkshake topped with caramel popcorn. This was most yummy<br/><br/>We also ordered the Berry Nice Smoothie which we tried without the apple juice (they had run out). This omission didn't detract from the lovely berry yogurt flavours. I'll pretend this was a healthy choice option 😇<br/><br/>We were both absolutely full at this point but didn't want to leave without trying a coffee with the cute coffee art. Puppy dog cute you might say. <br/><br/>The only thing I would change would be the napkins... thicker napkins are required to mop up all that burger juice!<br/><br/>The Burger Block is mostly a daytime destination but they are open Thursday & Friday nights until 8pm for that ease into the weekend Burger treat. <br/><br/>Big thank you to Brenda for allowing us to sample her great menu. It's great to meet people who are as passionate about creating delicious foods as I am at eating it.<br/><br/>🍔👍🏻
Must Be Hungry
Fusion restaurants are definitely growing in popularity, however Asian burger fusion isn't quite so popular, yet! We weren't sure what to expect, but our expectations were easily exceeded! We had the Eureka Tower burger and the Pikachu Burger from the specials menu. You could definitely taste the Asian influence and they pulled it off perfectly! Brenda was extremely nice and welcoming too and you could tell she's passionate about what they do. <br/>MustBeHungry approved!
Split The Bill
One of the best burgers we have tasted in a long time. The Burger block is a family run business, it has been around for over 15 years! We loved the Asian fusion burgers especially the ramen chicken burger which consists of spicy chicken, american cheese, spainish onion, kimchi, fried egg & instead of a bread bun the 'bun' is noodles. So different and delicious. I also loved the curry fries, I could eat the whole bowl of fries without sharing thats how delicious they were. Make sure you check this place out if you are in Kew.

Quality: 🌸🌸<br/>Service:🌸🌸🌸<br/>Taste:🌸<br/>Ambiance:🌸🌸🌸<br/>Value:🌸🌸🌸<br/><br/>Can’t wait the service here, the girl who worked there in the morning was lovely and polite.<br/><br/>However, although the milkshakes were nice, she burgers were average at best.<br/><br/>After having a meal, me and my friend both felt sick and had stomach problems hours later.

From the courtesy of Brenda, the owner. I was invited to Burger Block to sample some of the cafes signature Asian fusion burgers. With an emphasis of combining flavours of numerous asian produce, Burger Blocks reigns on their unique burgers with a touch of international flavours. The store is fitted simply with a high nested counter and a small number of chairs. On top of its relaxed and cozy atmosphere, from the moment you walk in, you are greeted with friendly service from the family owned cafe.

2nd visit, still got good burger, nice coffee, awesome shakes, and friendly staffs, will definitely return again. love the fried cheese sticks!!
@twogoodtoresist
If you are looking for a burger that's dripping in sauce - burger block is the place to go! Super tasty and super saucy, exactly what you need after a big night out! We ordered the Eureka and the Pikachu, both of which had perfectly cooked patties - so yum! The mozzarella sticks were so crispy yet goey inside, a great addition to our meal! We ended with "the nutty professor" - a salted caramel and peanut butter milkshake - perfect end to a tasty lunch. Unlike some crazy shakes out there, the richness of the peanut butter stayed throughout - we couldn't get enough! And it gets better... burger block is now on uber eats! If you are in the Kew area, check these guys out!

The Burger Block is an Asian fusion café in Kew that specialises in unique burger flavours using Asian spices and sauces. Previously a regular café, the same family has owned this venue for 15 years. Being a family-run business, you can often see the owner Brenda or her parents cooking burgers on the pans in the open kitchen, or delivering a stacked-high burger to a table. Only a handful of tables fill the small café, but this local feel is what makes this café so endearing and comforting.

Very nice little burger place , Asian fusion burgers made with love by passionated people with quality products sourced locally for the most part 👍 I went a couple times now and I always was happy with what I tried, you can customise your burger to your liking wich is always enjoyable even though the menu is full of different dishes and the pictures of the burgers on the menu at the counter help you see what your gonna get 😋 I went for the black jack with added onion rings and fried dim sim on top 🙌 <br/>I could taste the Asian flavours in the patty and the sauce and it's so good 👏

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Honestly<br/><br/>The 'Cajun Chicken' was delicious ! Beautifully cooked everything! Owner and staff are super friendly. Nice surrounding and quieter street love this restaurant<br/><br/>BURGER<br/>BUN - lightly toasted but i thoight it was perfect<br/>CHICKEN - a nice tender chicken fillet and with the cajun sauce marinade tasted lovely.<br/>EXTRAS - The salads where very fresh and cheese just melted perfectly<br/><br/>FRIES - light and not too heavy. Cooked perfectly and very crispy *crunch* . What you expect for nice cafe fries (rarity id say, not many people actually make decent fries)<br/><br/>TIP: go there HUNGRY you wont be disappointed!<br/>

Couldn't fault our order today via Uber Eats. Burgers were delicious, a Chocka Block and a Chocka Block + onion rings. The burgers were perfectly cooked and really well constructed. The great thing was the balance of ingredients and obviously that asian inspired flavour. Nothing went missing or overpowered. Also some tasty crunchy beer batter fries. We will indeed be back to traverese the menu. Thanks!

After passing by this place quite a few times, I'm glad to admit that it was definitely worth the wait. The flavours are certainly Asian, and are one of the most unique burgers that I've had in Melbourne. The staff was very friendly and willing to explain their various flavours and burger challenges.<br/><br/>I'm keen to try the 3kg burger with some of my bottomless-stomach friends the next time we all manage to find the time to visit.

It’s all about Asian-fusion burgers and drinks at The Burger Block. Yes, it’s another Melbourne burger bar but it’s also so much more than that – more like a familial blood right! The venue that houses Burger Block has a rich history of food over 15 years old. New owner, Brenda, has taken over the reins from her brother (owner of JD’s asian-fusion burgers) who previously took over the business from their parents.
Cookielessvee
<br/>The current venue was previously occupied by the owner's brother (JD's Burgers). Now the sister opening her own offering of fusion burgers.<br/>The burger joint has a cosy inside with limited seats and additional seatings outside for dining in. With 21 burgers to pick from, #1, 2, 5 are known as best sellers. We opted to pick #5 (Eureka) and also gave #17 (The Vegie Patch) a try. Both burgers were flavoursome.<br/>The eureka is definitely a best seller. With a soft brioche bun, crispy onion rings, tender pattie and bbq mayo. As for the vegie patch, the sweet chilli sauce and mayo compliments the croquette pattie. Making this my favourite burger so far.<br/>The drinks were well presented. The Thai milk tea had a great taste with a balanced sweetness. Although the taste may change on it's official release. The matcha drink with icecream was slightly bland but the matcha powder added flavour.<br/>Overall, the waiting time was not too long even though we went at a busy time and the the service was great.<br/>We were invited to review this place but are now looking forward to coming back to try the other burgers.

I came here today with my sister to celebrate her Birthday with just the two of us. The owner Brenda always greets her customers with a warm friendly smile and her kind hospitality. We ordered the Chocka Block Burger, Fish Tempura Burger, a Dim Sim and a Milk Tea flavoured crepe cake. We shared and enjoyed them both! <br/><br/>The BB's Secret Fusion sauce is amazing on the Chocka Block burger and makes the burger taste amazing! I liked that the fish in the Fish tempura burger was cooked well and the tartare sauce in the burger complemented the burger well. <br/><br/>They even have crepe cakes now! Today I tried the Thai Milk Tea flavoured one and it was delicious!<br/><br/>Thank you Brenda for always taking care of me and all the friends I bring in too

The burger scene in Melbourne has popped up like wild fire and there’s a new bad boy in town that’s been open for quite some time and is serving asian fusion burgers. Welcome to The Burger Block in Kew. Located on the main road, I was quite worried about the parking. Do not fear, there’s plenty of street parking so don’t panic.<br/> <br/>It’s a little ol’ shop and don’t let the look deter you. It does have a take-away shop feel to it but there are many additions that shows that they aren’t. There’s cutlery and sauces by the side and it’s self serve water as well. The interior is very adorable and they have added a lot of little touches such as flowers to make it more cosy and warm.

Saw some good reviews on Zomato so thought I'd try it out. I dunno if it was me that expected too much, but the burgers didn't feel anything special. Just a normal bun and a normal beef pattie stuck together. Don't think I'd go back.

i love the chocolate milkshake. I am not a big fan on chocolate things, but this one was delish!!! The burger i got was the satay one. The chicken was coated in sauce; sauce was oozing out of the chicken. Chicken wasn't dried which was a bonus! The food came out really fast too! Overall i loved the burger here; i would come back for more.

Look, I love my burgers, especially tasty juicy burgers.  I also love spicy, the Burger Block has spicy.  Wait, I also love Asian food, their burgers are Asian-fusion! Say what!!  But there is nothing I love more than good old fashion amazing customer service, the team is friendly and down to earth, and although the establishment is a little little, there is nothing little about the satisfaction you get when you bite into that juicy tasty melty burger.  The Burger Block definitely deserves all their glowing reviews. This will definitely be one of my new fave east side burger places!
EatingTheGoods
Wow, talk bout burgers! Seems to be the latest food venture for most melburnians at the moment. Seen a few fb posts about this place and their 'Food Challenges'<br/>Found myself with a midweek day off with the SO and we were in the area of Kew so decided to check it out. Was not dissapoint and glad we came. Burgers were moist with their buns a sweet brioche and LOVED the sesame topping. There were over two dozen or so choices to choose, from burgers to grilled sandwhiches to cakes and fish&chips. I went for the Black Jack because i love mushrooms. Burger flavours were jam packed and so juicy. Chips were diamond cut so deliciously crunchy, sauces were offered but they season it so well here, you can go without. Overall a great asian fusion cafe. Owner seemed very friendly as she welcomed all the customees that came in, looked like she was popular with the locals as heard them take a few take way orders over the phone.<br/>Small mention bout their hot chocolate. It was great! Better than some of your fancy snooty lane way cafes you can get in the cbd
Penguineats
The Curry Chicken Burger was probably the highlight of this cheatmeal. The chicken itself was tender, and having been marinated in Japanese curry and grilled with cheese, proved to be a rather delightful and unique combination of flavours. While the flavour profile closely resembles an authentic Japanese curry and you would expect this to be served with a side of rice, it is actually sandwiched within a brioche bun! I was highly sceptical at first, but admittedly this combination did work rather well and am pleased with the resulting burger.<br/> <br/>Overall an inventive and unqiue burger joint that’s a bit of a hit and miss. While it can certainly dish out great-tasting burgers with unique flavours (Curry Chicken Burger), some definitely need re-thinking and need to be re-worked.
I S2 Food
I love Asian food. I love burgers. Fuse them up and you get the burger block. Interesting choices & flavours. I settled with the Chocka block burger. Beef was delicious, soft tender and full of flavour, brioche was fresh and soft with sesame seeds. Salads add texture & crunch. Their coffee was great! Was still peckish as I didn't have time for breakfast so I got a apricot Danish to top it off. Yummy!!! Will be back.
Two Bears And A Fork
Asian. Fusion. Cafe. Burgers. What is this place, right?!? Well, recently these two bears headed on down to Kew to find out! ↓↓ Click the link below ↓↓ to see what we ate and what we though of this (not so new) kid on the (burger) block!

Just a small shop but plenty of seating outside! They also offer breaky food and quality coffee!<br/><br/>Alot of options to choose from! Another visit will be forecasted. A modified chocka block was ordered.<br/>Beef was unique as expected but it worked adding to the whole Asian fusion experience, which was great!

WHAT the food .... Asian fusion Burger ....???<br/><br/>Anyway you look at it, it's a great endevaour ....<br/><br/>It's always tricky being invited by the proprietor to review their food, however it is much easier to review when they have great things to offer, as this was the case.<br/><br/>The end of Willsmere is turning into the new Mecca of good food in Kew, away from the heart of Kew junction, amongst the leafy Residential area and near to the Eastern Freeway entrance/exit, very convenient. This place is quaint, simple and pleasant, Black theme, not too smelly nor greasy, what a great addition.<br/><br/>Must commend the proprietor, Belinda, family & co for even attempting to in-cooperate an Asian element/flavour onto the "humble" culinary of HamBurger. As history shown, from Hamburg (West Germany) made famous/household in the USoA, hence the name HAMBURGer.<br/><br/>This place used to be JD Burgers run by the brother before changing its business to Burger Block ..... " .... always had a small range of burger when we first opened and it was popular" mainly focus on breakfast & sandwiches etc .... specialise in burgers now."<br/><br/>Looking at the Menu & photos on the wall of the bar, I was quite skeptical at first, soon I was happy to be proven wrong ....as Belinda puts it best, "We were a family operated local cafe and have been at the same venue for 15 years." and "Yes it's Mum special Recipe which is made in house." You can feel the love there .... thank you.<br/><br/>Love their Chips with Aioli & Seaweed seasoning ..... and must come back for a few Burger trips, as there are a LOT on the Menu .... friendly & pleasant service<br/><br/>To my surprise, they are only opened for Brunch, not dinner, so the only suggestion that I could make .... open on THU-SUN night, have some kind of Foxtel sport ON and a Soy Burger perhaps?<br/><br/>Could be the perfect place for the Olympic ....
TheycallmeLL
Very impressed with the service as I walked in past their closing time unknowingly and the staff were still happy to take my order. I had the Black Jack burger and it was amazing - would definitely return and highly recommend to others. Conveniently located off the Eastern Fwy / Chandler Hwy exit.
Munching Melbourne
We were invited by Brenda to try their asian fusion burgers. The Burger Block's secret fusion sauce absolutely took the level one screwdriver burger to the next level. So delicious. The iced matcha green tea was refreshing which was perfect to wash down the burgers. The cafe errs on the small side but the staff were lovely and food is packed with flavour. Will definitely be back to try the other burgers!
Eat And Be Merry Crew
Burger Heaven has been found, and it is called The Burger Block. The décor may be a little dated but<br/> the burgers are fantastic: the melt-in- the-mouth patties, spices that tickle your taste buds, and soft brioche buns make you wonder if something that tastes this good could possibly be legal. We tried the Chocka Block – a wonderful beef burger with Burger Block’s secret fusion sauce – and the Cajun Chicken – overflowing with perfectly cooked, tender chicken strips redolent with a Louisiana spice mix. <br/><br/>We were there during the lunch hour rush, and it was notable how many of the customers have no<br/> need to consult the menu – they are clearly regulars and know their favourites. Many of them are tradies, and we all know that tradies have a way of finding great tasting food at a good price.

Everyone loves a good burger and this place definitely hits the spot! I went for the black jack burger; the meat was cooked perfectly and I love the Hk twist (black pepper and mushroom sauce). Will definitely come back to do the 5 patty "jack hammer"!
Leda Lee
There are a variety of the burgers to choose from.I am actually not a meat/burger lover but the size of the burger is just right for me.That was my first time trying fusion burger and surprisingly the thai fusion burger was pretty good and tasty. Most importantly, the meat was juicy!!!
Melbourne Glutton
The Burger Block serves amazingly glorious burgers all day long, from dawn to dusk, and beyond! We went for an early feed at about 11:30 and I started my morning with a Rise and Shine burger.

A good burger goes a long way, which is why my friend and I made our way to The Burger Block the other day for a little Friyay celebration. If you've visited JD's Burgers before, you might be a bit confused. The Burger Block is where JD's Burgers used to be, and their menu share quite a few similarities, with the theme of Asian fusion throughout. After speaking to the owner, Brenda, we realised that it is in fact, a brother and sister mix! Brenda began running The Burger Block earlier this year, aiming for a homely cafe that serves up some kick ass burgers, while JD's Burger has relocated to Surrey Hills, in preparation of possibly expanding.
A&J
Forget Grill'd or 8bit or any other burger joint you've been to! The burgers at this place are the bomb. I've had the Tempura Fish Burger, the Hot Chick, and the Red Lantern, and all have a unique combination of asian and western flavours, and taste amazing. Their chips are also a real winner. The menu is smart and creative- I will definitely be back to try more of their burgers.
Jas
Delicious Burgers. Friendly staff. Must try the Chocka Block & The Green Lantern (wasabi lovers). Chips and super crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle.
A Chronicle Of Gastronomy
Bits of influence from various Asian countries like Japan, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong and Indonesia are infused into the burger menu, whether that’s through the sauces, spices, marinades or ingredients included in the mix. All their burgers are made with brioche buns. Burger challenges (The Block Legends) are also available, ranging from one, all the way to five layers of burger madness and extras can be added on to further customise your meal. There are breakfast burgers too, and if you happen to get dragged along by a burger fiend but aren’t in the same mood, there are toasties and pides available as well.
Matt Summers
Im a serious burger lover and i give this place both thumbs up. Hit the spot with those quality beef patties that must be homemade. I went for the double pattie burger = epic. Friendly staff and thanks again for the service. See you again next week! <br/><br/>Thanks Matt

THE BURGER BLOCK is a small burger cafe and they asked us to come and try out their food, but it isn't that local to us. However we were in Kew yesterday for an appointment and we knew we had to drop by!<br/><br/>This is 'The Drill', 4 layers of errrthang. Beef, bacon, cheese, and topped off with their BB's secret fusion sauce! I added a hash brown just because I felt I wasn't being fat enough. It tasted awesome! The beef was perfectly cooked, the sauce gave it a special tang, and I actually managed to hold it all together til the very last bite. Props to a burger that doesn't break apart within a few bites! Thanks to Brenda and the crew for the service and the burgers, we will definitely be back!
Belliebella
Grilled chicken & the drill with extra hash brown! Awesome flavours, love the jap mayo & beef patties were tasty. Staff are friendly and they have a high chair!

First time trying out the burger block in Kew and my tastebuds were absolutely tantalised 🍔🍟. I ordered "The Black Jack" and "The Matcha iced Sencha Tea" to balance out my meal. Though I'm no foodie, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the beef patty turned out. The meat itself was cooked to perfection and the first bite into the burger burst with flavour! The filling included a beef patty, American cheese, mushroom, lettuce and tomato. Now if you're the type to pick out the tomato in a burger, you probably wouldn't need to in this one because the mushroom slices were really juicy and blended into the ingredients really well. I'll definitely be back to try another one of their burgers because their menu has been really well thought out and my tastebuds were completely blown away. Ticked ✔️ all the right boxes in my layman opinion!

Showcasing a range of signature flavours and sauces, the burgers are interesting and most importantly, the flavour combinations work! . The menu boasts an exciting array of Asian Fusion Burgers - Beautiful Indonesian satay sauce on your chicken burger? How about a tempura fish burger? Yes please!

A frequent visitor for mates and I to dine at when we are craving some juicy burgers on the way to the city!<br/>The Burger Block is just off the Eastern freeway, along Princess Hwy.<br/><br/>I tried the Cajun chicken burger this time. Unlike alot of places, the chicken was cooked to perfection.. tender and juicy, real buttery brioche buns, along side with tasty fillings and beer battered chips.. hits the spot every time...<br/><br/>Will be back very soon for some beef burgers! :)<br/><br/>====<br/><br/>Update... just had the Chocka block.. chocka tasty! That large thick juicy beef patty with bacon... god sent..

Fish burgers are completely underrated if (and it's a big if) they are done well. Offering Asian fusion burgers, The Burger Block in Kew is one such place that manages to hit the mark!. Located in Kew, the venue itself is reminiscent of a small town cafe - warm, friendly, with attention to detail down to the wicker baskets containing serviettes on the tables.

Hi amazing followers and avid foodies. It is so wonderful to bring you another food review good enough for you to sink your teeth into!. I was invited to visit The burger block in Kew today and try their amazing Asian fusion burgers. Formerly JD’s Burgers this place already had a reputation of being something special and I could not wait to see what they had to offer?

Delicious burgers. Easily the best I've had in Kew. <br/><br/>I wish they were open in evenings... Even just Friday/Saturday nights would be great.

So, JD’s Burgers closed their Kew store and relocated a couple of suburbs east to Mont Albert. In its place, a same-same but different, asian fusion styled burger joint opened its doors earlier this year run by none other than his sister, Brenda.<br/><br/>The actual dining area is quite small with a large counter area and semi-open kitchen. The menu is quite simple, but gives you quite a variety of choices with the most popular items in photo format displayed on the counter wall.<br/><br/>We actually did not spot the photos until after we had already ordered and coincidentally chose two of the most popular burgers.<br/><br/>As well as burgers, there are items for takeaway that are quite generous in sizes!<br/><br/>It was pretty quiet when we arrived, but the cafe had quite a few diners coming in while we were there. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick.<br/><br/>Check out the review of The Burger Block in the blog post below.
FOOD TRIP
The Burger Block is a popular local burger joint that's easy to miss if you didn't know what you were looking for. Despite their cafe being on the smaller size, their menu has a variety of options that caters to all tastes and preferences. Would recommend if you're in the area. What sets this family owned burger cafe apart from the bajillion others in Melbourne is the Asian flavours infused into their dishes. From using spicy sriracha hot sauce in the Hot Chick to the ever popular wasabi mayo in the Green Lantern, they combine Asian condiments into what is traditionally an American product.

Best burgers I've had by far. I'm trying to stay fit but the burgers looked so tasty, I couldn't resist. We ordered the Eureka Tower, Chocka Block, Fish Burger and Chips. My mum enjoyed her fish Burger (crispy on the outside and soft in the inside) she tells me and Mrs is tiny Asian girl, she ordered the Chocka Block and I can't believe she finished the whole burger herself! The Eureka Tower was delicious but having a double patty filled me right up! Chips were well seasoned and crunchy!

Not a big fan of burgers, however the Red Lantern is to die for!!!!! Full of flavour and definitely NOT dry! The chips are amazing 👌 Highly recommend ordering the Red Lantern, worth the drive to Kew!!!

Had the black jack burger and wife had the choka block burger- damn was it delicious. I've been to 8bit and thought they were good however the burger block is even better! Can't believe it myself!<br/><br/>The chips with roasted seaweed are incredible - never had anything like this before. A savory delight! <br/><br/>I don't really do reviews but my wife was so impressed by the friendly attentive service, outstanding burgers and efficient service; I had to. <br/><br/>So glad we accidentally found this place! It'll be a regular favorite of ours now!

We always drive pass this joint to get onto the eastern freeway. The new signage attracted our attention and finally we had the chance to try out their burgers. We ordered the Curry Chicken and my partner ordered the Hot Chick. Wow!!!! Amazing!!!! We shared the Curry Chicken first and it was so delicious, saucy and full of flavour! The Hot Chick was definitely HOT and very spicy :) The flavour and sauce was soo good, we even wanted to order another one. Better be good he goes "we will come back another time". I can't wait. We will try the beef burgers next time.

I was upset my local favorite JDs Burgers had moved out to another location. I thought to give these a guys a go and found that their menu had a very similar vibe to it - Asian style burgers. <br/><br/>I had the spicy red lantern and added some jalapeños to it. Jalapeños weren't offered by JDs so we were off to a good start. Sriracha and jalapeños are one combination to beat!<br/><br/>These guys dish up a killer burger on par if not better than JDs. I'm definitely a major fan. <br/><br/>

I ordered the Red Lantern with jalapeños and it was dam good! Best chilli burger I have ever had. The beef was juicy, bun was soft and the bacon crispy. Just the way I like it.
Burgers Of Melbourne
They opened in early February 2016 and to my surprise a familiar face was still running the kitchen. The Burger Block is the female version of JD's and although there is a brand new menu, the same old Asian inspired patties are a hit.<br/><br/>Most Burgers are either $12.90 or $13.50 with the exception of The Block legends which are bigger burgers up to 5 patties large. They also have a 1.5kg and 3kg burger challenge.<br/><br/>Juicy soft patties that just melt in your mouth on every bite. Quality buns and great service. The Burger Block is a small venue, but one that is worth a visit. 8.4/10

Wowie! The burgers here are divine! It's not your run of the mill burger and you will be amazed by the assortment and flavours on offer! The burgers are inspired by Asian flavours like wasabi, satay, bulgogi and it works so well! <br/>I had the red lantern. It had a succulent, juicy, flavourful meat pattie with bacon with cheese onion lettuce , tomato and a to die for chilli sauce all in a soft burger bun. It was really nice, the perfect combination of flavours and not too spicy. <br/>My partner had the choka block and he loved that too! Oo and the chips are crispy and super tasty. <br/>Staff were friendly and helpful.
