Review Kings Depot - Kings Beach

The location is wonderful and there is a good selection of games for the children which was really thoughtful. Food portion sizes were very generous and service was quick and good. We ordered the Vegetarian Burger and the Spinach Ricotta Pie. The pie was wonderful and homemade. The Burger was passable but the fries that came with it was enjoyed by all. It came with a hash brown and Greek salad. The hash brown was a little unusual but my toddler loved it. The mocha, unfortunately, had too much chocolate and milk but too little coffee. While the food was passable, we would visit again as it’s difficult to find a cafe that is really Child Friendly. A meal is only good if you can actually sit down to enjoy it... UNINTERRUPTED. So Mom’s and Dad’s, this place is the solution.

Really upsetting to see such a sign in a premise right on the edge of our shores, where today's society is doing its best to replenish our ocean's inhabitants by eliminating plastic. PLASTIC BAGS are a main contributor to marine turtles deaths! Just does not make sense. Please make the change to selling environmentally friendly bags... or at least turtle friendly since you are contributing funds to such a cause!

We visited Sunday 11/2/2019 and were not disappointed. Had not visited Kings Beach before and were craving onion rings. They weren't on the menu but they do serve them so we were stoked. We purchased a serve of onion rings and the $11 fish and chip meal which was perfect for 2 adults and 1 toddler. The fish was cooked perfectly, chips just right and the onion rings were to die for. We took them across the road and sat underneath a tree on the grass and watched the world go by. Perfect weather, perfect food, perfect day

We had a great lunch here! The owner is very friendly and helpful and helped to make our family lunch special. We were able to order either from this restaurant or from the Italian restaurant next door that he also owns. We all enjoyed our meals and the view is lovely. A nice place for a casual lunch.

Best chips ever. Top 5 best chips I've ever eaten and I'm over 41 years old so I've had a lot of chips in my time and with the chicken salt, I thought I'd died and gone to fish and chip heaven. Our gourmet salad was good but didn't think it was that gourmet. Some lettuce other than iceberg can not be justified as gourmet. The salmon was good but how did you cook it so quick? It was a big piece of fish - did you bag it and boil it first? Found the barra and the snapper OK but a bit on the smelly side so it made me wonder about the freshness. Will be back for your chips again soon.

January 2019 Edit: 5* The fisherman's basket and fish were great and well priced. Friendly staff. The main difference? Thankfully, the loud, amplified musician (too much in a small restaurant) was gone. Just quiet background tunes, and the sound of the waves across the park. Really pleasant! April 2018 1 * Has potential. Fish and chips were good. But the restaurant was not. The place is small and the music was so loud! The muso must be deaf. Had his amplifier on so we couldnt sit inside and have a conversation over lunch. If I want a loud gig, I would go to a pub, not a restaurant. A little restaurant doesn't even require an amplifier. Not going back if there is amplified music. Disappointing.

Run-down looking takeaway joint with cheap furniture and plastic cutlery/paper plates. Our table had an awful, plastic christmas table cloth on it! The atmosphere & "feel" of the restaraunt section is pretty bad. We all felt really awkward being there. Came here on a rainy night and our bags all got wet sitting on the floor under our table from water coming in through the bifold windows! Food portions were absolutely huge. We ate probably 50% off what was on our plates. The hot chips were really bad - overcooked, brown and dry. Thankfully, I ordered the Cod Father Burger and it was delightful. The sesame seed buns are delicious, the fish was slightly overdone but overall very nice. My toddler ordered the fish bites with chips and didn't eat any of it. It was really overcooked and basically inedible. They seem to cater to holidaying families who don't know any better. Go anywhere else!

Food was great, portions were too big to finish. Good value too. The only downside was the service, was very slow though the restaurant wasn't busy. The starter and mains also came at the same time.
