The place was open on 31st of December. So we had lunch here. Portion was huge, taste was mostly good. Salt and Pepper Squid was exceptionally superb. Roast duck not so bad either. Price was reasonably low. Place not so clean but its ok.
A great place to have a late night dinner! Ordered the all time favorite Sang Tung Chicken, and taste so fresh and rich in spice. Also order sweet and sour pork was crunchy and nice. Also really recommend the Fried Spaghetti with XO Sauce, I know sounds not so chinese, but was surprisingly good! Give 4 stars because the taste worth the price!

This is our go-to restaurant whenever I feel lazy to cook. Whatever you order from this place you can guarantee that it is good. A few days ago, we went there for an early dinner. At around 6 pm the place is already packed. Good thing we were able to get a table before the dinner crowd arrived. I was craving for some fried rice that day so we had one. Also ordered our usual spare rib with salt and pepper and a stir fried noodle - for that night we ordered the rice noodle with beef. Can I just say that the fried rice is just so good. Nothing fancy in it but it is just good. I can finish it without any other viand to go with. It was that good. The spare rib was too salty and the noodle was a bit bland. Service is good. Tables were cleaned immediately and food arrived within 10-15 minutes after ordering. The only downside about this place is that its too small, you have to pay in cash and the lady who sits at the counter is always frowning. Also when you call for a pick-up order, don't expect niceties from the person who answers it - which I think is the same lady who frowns at the counter. Price range for this place is around $40 for two person. Good value for money and will definitely be coming back again and again. (sorry no pictures - its not all about the presentation sometimes you just have to trust the menu)
No frills Chinese restaurant serving up excellent authentic dishes at food court prices. This place is open til midnight and it is always busy every time we walk past. The decor has aged, the tables have faded, but it doesn't stop regulars from coming back.
The servings here are generous. The shan dong chicken is the hero dish here.
Tonight we had salt and pepper squid (raved by a friend) that was a tad too salty, but the calimari was crunchy, tasty, sizeable and easy to bite through.
We opted to choose a more healthy option with stir fry vegetables, they were crunchy, well fried and delicious.
Finishing off with their watermelon sago dessert that was refreshing and not overly sweet.
Just like the name, it's no frills and this is reflected on the service, decor and the prices. Excellent value for what you pay for.
Just had the fish congee ($8.80) for a light snack to share with a friend. The fish was tender and plentiful, and service was quick. Packed with university students, but the place is cheap and cheery.
Been here many many times. My favorite dish are sweet sour fish, long bean, the shantung chicken, fried rice noodle. Very tasty dish, reasonable price with average staff service.
Still one of the best restaurant for affordable chinese foods... pocket friendly price for students.. (since its located near university) taste very nice.. and i always come here to eat those 4 menus.. their fried rice also nice..
Salt and pepper calamari, pork chops, green bean and Santong chicken are our stapled dishes and they always deliver on taste. Found a worm in the broccoli once for their broccoli and fish dish and if you wipe down the tables after they've been "cleaned" you'll get a black serviette, don't expect too much service or cleanliness but I guess that's what gives it some character and evidentially taste!
TASTE WISE, this place is the only Chinese restaurant I genuinely find tasty when eating traditional plates 🍚. The ambience however is quite stressful as it's normally packed. The older staff aren't the most polite. Though the price is great for the portion. The best dish is the deep fried calamari with salt and pepper ($12.80) ! 🦑 as it's always fresh and has this delicious ocean taste. Also, another fav is the beef in black bean sauce ($11) 🐄. You normally order rice for the table. I am a regular as dishes here make me satisfied and full 🤤❣️

This is my second time visiting this restaurant, my friend says this is restaurant has more history than other restaurants in the street. Famous for SanTong chicken and salt& pepper squids.
I had sweet & sour pork, steamed vegetables, Thai style fried rice, Buddhist's hot pot, Baizai rice, all of them are tasty.
OMG this place is sooo yum when it comes to Malaysian Chinese food. I've been here a few times after shooting a video last year.
Kingsford Chinese Restaurant is popular among the locals. Everyone comes here for the San Tung Chicken and Braised Green Beans. So delicious.
The San Tung Chicken's skin is crisp on the outside and the chicken is perfectly cooked. The sauce that comes with is sweet and a tiny bit spicy (if you happened to eat that slice of chilli)
The Braised Green Beans doesn't look as appetising as seen in the photo but it's yum. Stir fried wok vegetables in garlic and Malaysian chilli sauce. It's not spicy at all.
My new favourite has got to be the Sweet and Sour Pork. Just the perfect combo with rice.

Been a regular customer for over 10 years and always get the same three dishes, malaysian bean, salt and pepper squid and santung chicken. Their food is a bit salty but still very tasty and delicious! Their service has also improved over the years.
Excellent food - our group really enjoyed the Shandong Chicken in particular - and excellent prices too!

Fast prompt service and huge portions. Ordered beef with bitter melon 10/10 and whole flounder 10/10. Seafood tofu hotspot unfortunately was not good - lacked any flavor.
This place always a favorite if we want yummy food and super casual. Do not expect good service because service is just not one of the attributes they offer. However, fast food and yummy are delivered in this place. We love to order shandong chicken, seafood chow mien, Vietnamese pork chop. The green bean was also nice if you like that dish.
Been coming here for years, we only order the Shandong chicken, Salt and Pepper Calamari and occasionally Belacan Beans. Have tried their other dishes and found them to be mediocre, not everything in the menu are as good as their signature dishes (Shandong chicken and Salt and pepper Calamari.
In our last few visits, we found the quality of their Calamari inconsistent, some days it was cooked perfectly, and others rubbery and over/under cooked. We raised the issue politely with the ever-grumpy lady boss (who's always minding the cash register), she just rolled her eyes and and squawked at us that if we don't like it, we can try other dishes. I guess she doesn't care about customer's feedback as she isn't afraid of loosing them.
It's a shame they can't maintain a consistent quality these days.

Beautiful food but too much msg. Before was good but now not so much.. I always order the same thing, vietnamese porkchop, steam fish with brocolly, santung chicken, and kangkung cah garlic. Now the steam fish tasteless. Cheap food, value for money. You actually get what you've paid.
The best chinese restaurant ever in Sydney !! Sang Tung Chicken with Green bean with malaysian sauce are my favourite dishes when i come here. The service is allright . As long as you paid for your dishes . Hahaha . Price is worth . Definitely i will come back !!
I've been visiting this place since uni and now that I work in the area, I visit again when I get cravings for chinese food! If you are after an immaculate dinning atmosphere then it's not for you. Having said that it's not dirty!! It's just nothing fancy in terms of decor or the interior. Actually i don't mind this at all, as nice interior does not always equal nice food.
This place though...is yummo!! Try the shan tong chicken, or wontons, or spicy salt squid... There are a lot of yummy dishes here and the price is great. You can easily have lunch for under $10.
It's no frills, no fuss and I like it just the way it is :)
Yummy cheap Chinese restaurant.. Love the food there. I would normally have their Shan Dong Chiken, sweet & sour pork and the standard Chinese restaurant food really.. But definitely get ready for the rude waitresses and owner of the restaurant.. One of my relatives hate to go there for their poor service, that's how bad it is! But really, the food are nice..
At the heart of Kingsford you can find this Chinese (Cantonese) restaurant. Have been dining here for over a decade now. I would consider this place a cheap eat and find the food quality to be consistently high.
I would normally order San Tung Chicken,Muy Choi Pork hot pot, Peking Spare ribs, Salt and Pepper King Prawn, Deep fried fish fillet with sweet corn sauce, Braised beef brisket hot pot, Four Season Bean.
Service can often vary depending on the waitstaff and/or the mood of the lady owner. In general it is standard service you would normally get at cheap eat restuarant. Food came out really quickly considering the crowd.
Bottom line: Great food. Average service. Excellent value for the quality.
Reasonably priced Chinese food. Sang Tung chicken is a must try with its sweet yet tangy dressing. The restaurant however can do with a facelift.

We went to this restaurant having read rave reviews about its 'Shandong (Shan Tung) chicken'. When we arrived, we were told that the 'Shandong chicken' would take half an hour to prepare. We decided to order a 'beef brisket hot pot' instead, and told them that we would eat it while we waited for them to make the chicken.
The food came and went, and after another ten minutes of waiting, we asked about the chicken and they told us that they hadn't made it, and that it would be another twenty minutes if we wanted it. We didn't want it.
The beef brisket hot pot itself was decent tasting. I would query the freshness of the vegetables used inside it, but no one got sick and it tasted acceptable. What wasn't acceptable was the service, or lack thereof. We were also served and charged for rice that we did not ask for.
An old family favourite for cheap and tasty Chinese food - although it wasn't as good as we remembered it to be.
The must have salt & pepper calamari, also had the belacan long beans, shandong chicken, fujian fried rice, honey pepper pork ribs and braised tofu with brocolli.
You can count on uni kids to find the best cheap eats! Nearby UNSW, Kingsford Chinese Restaurant serves up a pretty good Shan Dong Chicken for just $12!
It's a wonderful hipster hang and I feel right at home there. What I loved most is the quality of food and excellent service. It also has very cozy ambience to cherish!!!!!!!
Basic laminex table style Chinese with some dishes done exceptionally well. Currently my favourite salt and pepper squid in Sydney. Also love the Shantung chicken. Great value for money.

Kingsford Chinese Restaurant provided the best tasting food for its price. There are three staple foods: Salt and Pepper calamari, Sang Tung chicken and Long Bean belacan. If you want very fast service, order those three and nothing else! Oh, and try not to complaint too much…

Kingsford Chinese. We go here all the time. Its always packed and you can always tell a good resturant by the customers. They are all Chinese with a scattering of the Europeans. Price wise this place is excellent value. We all love the fried rice. The Steamed fish is awesome!! My son loves the Roast Duck!! This is our regular haunt. The negatives... The service is just to bring the food to you. The tables and chairs, decor, cutlery are very very basic. So If you want a cheap quick lunch or dinner, come here. If they are very busy you may have to line up on the street...
Good tasty and cheap. Love the salt & pepper calamari, shantung chicken and Malaysian beans. There is always a lot of people so either go early or much later otherwise be prepared for a wait to get a table. But it's worth it.

Great local restaurant with a large menu and absolutely delicious meals. We had a birthday dinner upstairs for 8 people and were very impressed. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced.
First weekend of freedom and we are straight back to Wewok New Chinese Restaurant for a feast. Simple dishes but delicious as always. Was good to dine in with you guys again.

The taste of the three dishes are close to the old Kingford Chinese, slightly lack of seasoning. The portion is smaller. The service could be improved. The new refurb looks inviting.
Dropped into Wewok Chinese Restaurant Kingsford for a late night dinner and again they didn't disappoint. Hot and Delicious as always.
This place is known for their Salt and Pepper Calamari, Sangtong Chicken and many others but my favourite is Salt and Pepper Flounder, its seriously good.
To be honest the food here are always consistent in taste I've never had a hit and miss, unless we have ordered the wrong dish.
Also ask the staff or the head chef for what's fresh from the markets mainly veggies like the okra with garlic and crispy onions dish we had tonight.
