Went there during lunchtime and we were served immediately as there were not many people. Food was served very quickly. Ordered their Nasi Lemak special with curry chicken, dry egg noodle with curry chicken and Chee Cheung fun. Curry chicken was very well cooked. Chicken was tender. Nasi Lemak was fragrant and full of coconut flavour. Dry egg noodle was a bit on the sweet side but the texture was nice. Chee cheong fun was a bit hard and the sauce wasn’t that good will not order chee cheong fun again if I’m there again.

Went back again to try their sweet and sour pork and fish soup noodle. Fish soup was very good but the fish was not..it’s deep fried and it’s hard and chewy.

Sweet and sour pork was alright.

Ideal restaurant to have a lunch at! Their lunch specials are always good to order and I love their drinks menu. I always come here for a catchup with friends and there's always a vacant table for us (usually between 11am-3pm on a weekday).
Their hainanese chicken is great and the sauce is nice since it balances out the whole dish, so I almost always order this each time I visit. I've literally tried all their drinks (gives you an idea on how many times I've been to this place) and for some reason, I always find myself ordering an ice kopi. Service is pretty average and the staff are always friendly to chat to.
I highly recommend it if you have time between classes or if you are hungry and in the area.ヽ(・∀・)ノ

Came in to dine for lunch on a busy day and could still get a table.. I ordered Combination Hor Fun but had to wait quite a while. When it came, I was so glad to have ordered this meal, not only it was delicious but also it was served in generous amount. The food was very fragrant, I could smell the freshness of seafood in it and gravy tasted very delicious. In terms I definitely recommend this dish.

My go-to here is usually the roast chicken noodle soup, but this time I got the nasi lemak with chicken curry. The chicken is sooo good, full of spices and not dry at all but still well cooked. I would also strongly recommend to get the ice kacang to share. Service is basic and casual but still efficient.

Their food is delicious and generous volume, so we never have been hungry afterwards. Also when we asked some special requirements ( gluten free ), they were so helpful. I am very happy with their food and services, so I can recommend anyone would like to have Asian food.

We were in Kingsford on this chilli night and my wife wanted soup. She was steering towards Chinese, but I took advantage of her indecisiveness and chose Petaling Street restaurant. It is a decent sized restaurant. The restaurant setting did not excite me but..... the menu did. I was initially thinking Laska when I walked into the restaurant. However I am a sucka for roti and chendol. The roti was nice and crisp, thicker than I usually like, but I still enjoyed it and the Curry sauce it was served with. I also liked the look of the Petaling Street clay pot short rice noodle. I suppose a Malaysian street food take on bolognaise. This was the perfect meal for a cold night. My wife also seemed to like this meal, which kept me busy, with me having to swat her away from my plate.
I explained to her food envy is a by product of taking the healthy option. She ordered the hainan chicken with egg noodle soup. I snuck a bit of chicken from her plate, the little bit that I sampled was tender with nice flavour.
This place is great if you are after a cheap and tasty meal.

Went there on Easter Sunday with a group of 10. The restaurant was able to accommodate us without any wait at around 7.30pm :)
We ordered hainan chicken, nasi pattaya, char koay teoy, sizzling minced pork & bean curd, satay chicken skewers, salt &pepper squid, garlic kang kung, marmite chicken ribs and their claypot short rice noodle. Most of the dishes were okay. I really enjoyed their marmite chicken ribs. I found their satay chicken skewers below par with the chicken feeling dry/overcooked and the nasi pattaya could have benefited from meat or something more in it.
The bill came to $20 pp which is pretty good considering we all ate a lot and had a drink.

I was here in the evening recently and tried the chicken laksa which I found to be a particularly spicy version. The portion size was very large and it had a thick and creamy soup base. Probably just too spicy for me. I also wasn't too sure about the chicken which was a little hard and had not been cooked till tender.

The interior was quiet at the time, it was about to close but I could see that it was a spacious outlet with comfortable seating. Staff service was acceptable and prices fair as always in this area.

For a quick lunch, we took a stroll down Anzac Parade to Petaling Street, in the search for a bit of Malaysia cuisine. We ordered two classics, the Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice as well as the Fried Koay Teow. Overall, we were very impressed and we would definitely recommend Petalind Street to anyone look for a cheap but delicious meal!

The portion sizes were quite substantial and were delicious and flavoursome. The Hainanese Chicken Rice in particular was a standout – the chicken was incredibly tender and when eaten together with the rice, made for a lovely meal.

Here are the three dishes that we like to order when we dine in Petaling Street:- Chee Cheong Fun- Fish fillets with Thai Sauce- Hainan Chicken with egg noodles

i reviewed the restaurant last year and they still have the same quality food with sub-par service. It's good for a quick lunch!

Love coming here, one of my favorite Malaysian restaurants to go to whenever I feel like Malay food.
They have a variety of roti to choose from. I love their Roti Kaya and Roti Red Bean. Their Chee Cheong Fun is definitely something i would have whenever i come here and their variety of drinks are amazing!
Their portions are good and the prices are fairly cheap. I will definitely come back soon!

Hainanese Chicken Rice Set. This dish was absolutely delicious, arguably just as good as Temasek. For only $8.50 this is such good value as it comes with a generous serving of Hainan chicken, dipping sauces, rice and chicken soup. The rice is so flavourful having been infused with chicken broth and garnished with fried onions. Definitely money’s worth!

...I find both branches equally as good and the menus are exactly the same so the only difference would be the convenience of location. Each dish is also quite big

Service was pretty fast and the food was pretty impressive. Since it's located so close to uni and very student-friendly with the prices and proportions, I can definitely see myself here again in the future.

Petaling Street offers plenty of Malaysian food choices. If you can overlook the service, the food they served was actually pretty good and affordable. I love their Mar Mite Chicken Ribs, but I think most would appreciate the $15.80 whole fish more.

Not bad.... My husband and I came here for a quick Sunday lunch and it wasn't bad. I had no expectations and the wait for the food wasn't too long although the restaurant wasn't that busy,

We just shared their roti which is a 15 min wait and comes out crispy and chilli dipping sauce which is addictive (although I prefer the fluffy style) and Malaysian style dry noodles and pork which had great flavour but with the fatty prices of pork it did get a bit rich. I also tried their iced red bean with cendol which was nice and refreshing without being too sweet.
