Review Lone Star Rib House - Kirrawee

My friends wanted me to rate this just one star, but I felt that would be undeserved. Overall our experience was a mixture of good and bad. Here are the details. First thing to note is that the best way to reserve a table is through an online system via their Web page. I did try leaving a message on their answering machine but they never returned my call. Next thing - food. The menu really sets high expectations. Unfortunately the reality is somewhat less. I would describe the meals as inoffensive - neither good nor particularly bad. Not generous nor mean. I had nachos. Not very spicy. Needed more sour cream and guacamole. Two people at our table had meals with chips. Neither particularly liked the chips but could not articulate why. This said, they enjoyed the burgers. The dessert range was also somewhat limited. Service. They actually started off really good. Constantly asking our needs. This all changed after 9pm. Given that this group regularly dines out and then chats/drinks long into the evening and it was a Saturday we were somewhat surprised that the restaurant appeared to be encouraging everyone out. I said to the waiter that we were expecting to be offered coffee after desserts. He reluctantly took our orders only to almost immediately tell us that the coffee machine was not working. Another waiter then flicked the lights on and off a few times. We took the hint and left. It was 9:30pm. We probably won't return.

Lone star is back! And we loved it. The worst thing about the menu was that I wanted to order everything. Settled on garlic bread, jalapeño poppers and steak with pepper sauce. All delicious and well cooked. The nuts were great for a fidget like me and the staff were friendly. We’ll be back regularly

Staff took forever to serve at party of 11 people. Took over 2 hours for food to arrive. Poor service will not be returning here. Do not recommend.

Chicken wings were tasty and well cooked. Kids meals were frozen packet schnitzel deep fried. Calamari was frozen packet and very chewy. Both sub par for a restaurant. Alabama burger promised to be something good however the meat patties just didn’t taste like meat. Seems they were minced finely with added flour to bind them. Tasteless. Nachos hardly had any meat, was a disappointing mess and the guacamole tasted fake! Service was exceptional hence the two stars. The post mix drinks were also quite diluted making them quite tasteless to drink. Overall disappointing experience. I don’t think we will return.

Went to check the South Village out to go to the shops and decided to have lunch here with group of colleagues. Came across this American style restaurant on our way out and seemed to appeal the most out of everyone else in the centre. Certainly wasnt wrong as our expectations were beyond what we expected with friendly and efficient service from Ben our waiter. All other staff had a bubbly personality and were very attentive which made our day special. Had good variety and offerings and a specials menu including delicious pizzas for one and salads. I recommend highly.

I really wanted to like this place, but it's nowhere near what I remember at Miranda. The jalapeño poppers were clearly frozen, the prime rib was average at best for both my wife and I, the bernaise sauce OK but clearly not made on-site. The server was nice. When we left we were asked how the meal was and mentioned the steak - they said they'd had a lot of comments about the quality and were hoping to try a new supplier. We were offered vouchers to come back but declined - we quite literally wouldn't go back even if it was free. A real shame, since as I mentioned we loved the old one

My friends and I came to Lonestar for a Friday night birthday dinner, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The food was inedible - chicken wings that had been pre-cooked at least a day or five earlier then reheated with sauce dumped on top, prawns that had an unpleasant smell and taste. The rib towers, carrying two different types of ribs, soggy chips and sad salad, were also beyond disappointing. The meat had the consistency of wet paper and the flavour wasn’t much better, and gave off a smell that suggested they’d been around for a couple of days. We also ordered coleslaw that was slopped on a plate, with a creamy dressing that smelt and tasted like it had turned. The service was woeful. We ordered a round of drinks and we had to ask four times in the space of 30 minutes where they were. The drinks were offered for free after my friends wore their rib tower in an unfortunate accident by our waiter - dude, don’t laugh when you’ve just dropped ribs and chips on two people! Of course it’s an accident, but giggling like a child is pathetic. The only positive was that they didn’t expect us to pay for this waste of an evening. The team has a lot to learn about food service and customer service.

Hopefully just teething issues. Meal was quick (good) however it took 10 minutes to grab someone's attention for the bill, 10 minutes to get someone so we could ask for the kids meal ice-cream we forgot about and 15 minutes for the ice-cream. When paying they asked how the meal was. I was in the middle of letting them know the pork ribs could have been cooked less when she asked if I wanted a receipt and thanked me for coming. She was not listening at all. Bummed since it cost $175 for 4 people.
