Review San Antonio Sourdough - Kirribilli

KAZUSA HIGASHIOKA
I only come here as the location is convenient. The quality of baked goods really depends on the day - it can be fresh and normal size but other days can be stale and small. Most of the staff are friendly as other reviewers have written except for one male staff with longer hair working here in the early morning most days - be prepared to have your "good morning" "thank you" etc ignored almost every time and your presence barely acknowledged as he barely looks at you. Spectacular unsmiling service. He clearly doesn't enjoy being there and that's fair enough - but don't take it out on customers.

Nice little bakery with limited outdoor seating. Service can be hit and miss but the coffee ☕️ and 🍞 are what make the place. The pain au chocolate 🍫 is good and the fruit bread is solid as well. Note this place is super popular and stuff sells out regularly

A charming little bakery with a knack for making damn good coffee. The staff are friendly and clearly love what they do, adding to the cheery atmosphere. They offer a wide selection of pastries, breads and the like, which are absolutely delicious, I might add. And the coffee is superbly brewed using blends from Morgan's Coffee Roasters. The only criticism I have is the lack of seating, but overall, a beautiful experience.

Great coffee and apple crumble. Best value for money that I have had in Sydney so far. A few tables and chairs om the street and a small shop. Friendly staff. I would definitely come back here.

Wonderful bustling small bakery/Cafe with great sound oughtn't, delicious baked goods (Lemon Berry brioche so recommended I had it every day) and excellent coffee offered by attentive caring staff. Great customer service even when the aircon's broken and the pressure's on - well done guys

Coffee is good. I had a Danish pastry there which was ok.

My new favourite coffee place in Kirribilli!! A charming little shop... my first experience was on a rainy Sydney day, and the staff were so friendly, smiling at me, I wasn’t sure what to do with myself... too often these days, I’m finding customer service is becoming less of a priority... so when I find a place where I believe they understand what customer service is about, I will make sure to support them! The coffee is delicious! I drink black coffee, no sugar or milk, so I like to think I know good coffee when I taste it! Also, reasonably priced. Next up I will have to try their sourdough and update!!

This is a hole in the wall shopfront doubling as mine bakery and take away coffee joint. A few chairs and tables outside and despite a range of cakes and sweet baked goods, nothing was overly appealing. Friendly service and also much better than the other bakeries in the area

The manager was quite rude to customers and also told off an employee right in front of me, making me feel uncomfortable. The almond croissant was stale and stodgy, I had to put it in a toaster. Coffee was average.

If you visit during November, you might be lucky enough to enjoy coffee and baked treats on the sidewalk at San Antonio Sourdough among the flowering jacaranda trees. Good selection of pastries.

I used to love this place for the cronuts.
Now the cronuts have minimised in size and the taste isn't the same anymore even though the price is still the same.
So disappointed as I hadn't worked at our Milsons Point office in a while that I was really looking forward to this sweet treat.
Oh well. At least I enjoyed my sausage roll and my girlfriend enjoyed her chicken pie.
Wish they would go back to the old cronut recipe!
Located less than a minute's walk from the station, is easy to get to and not hard to find.
The service is a bit hit and miss sometimes.
I think they give their "regulars" better service than others.

Coffee came out piping hot but after cooling a little it was pretty good. Staff were friendly even though it was later in the day and they seemed to be slowly working towards the end of day. Seating outside as well as a table inside.

Worst service and terrible attitude.
It was 4:30pm today when I ordered a chicken and avo sandwich as I hadn't had lunch yet! Unwrapped the sandwich and took one bite into the soggiest wet bread. I went to the counter and said to the man that the bread is soggy and wet and that I didn't just pay $8 for a wet sandwich. He proceeded to tell me that the sandwich is wet because of the tomatoes and avo and I should just accept the wet bread because of the ingredients.
So I ask for another non wet sandwich or my money back before getting abused by the cashier telling me to get out, never come back, he gave me back my money and proceeded to babble that he wouldn't apologize to me. All I wanted was a sandwich. One that wasn't wet and soggy.
Suggest you walk straight by this place in future. Don't be fooled by the line... better places down the road.

My number 2 choice for a coffee when in Kirribilli. Every time my favourite place (Cool Mac Cafe) is closed or just way too busy and I do not want to wait I go for San Antonio. The coffee here is good as you can assume by the constant customer flow during mornings, however the food selection is very limited as you can also assume by the tiny kitchen size (if you want to call it a kitchen at all). Having said that, they do have a decent variety of nice fresh bread and other bakery available every day...

Terrible customer service. Sales assistant was on his phone for ages before he served me and when I asked for a carry big as I had walked, he threw it on the counter and expected me to put it in the bag. It wasn't even busy, there was no line up.

Coffee here was OK. Is a very busy little spot & a good place for people watching as you are close to the bridge. Enjoyed the friand & was tempted to try other treats, but abstained. Popular place for breads too

Extremely rude staff. Burnt coffee. Never again

Fab bread and coffee and a very friendly barista.

A fantastic way to start the morning eith one of Antonio's coffees. Surely one of the nicest coffees in sydney, and definitely the best in kirribilli! - also the dark rye bread is awesome!

What a great cafe. Amazing breads and pastry with the best coffee and service from owner Tony on the north shore! Don't miss it!

Worst Bakerie ever .... I have no words for describe this bakeries.
The coffee is so so, bread is ok but the worst in all of this is certainly the owner ...
Who would like to give his own money to a guy like him, he is disrespectful with everybody, never smiling, don't care about customer.
I won't come back for sure and i will tell to all my friend to stay away from this bakerie.

Coffee ok - muffins poor quality. Staff attitude sucks - today's motto seemed to be " ignore the customer then when they do order don't listen to them" . All this should be done and is in big city style rude and condescending fashion. Had to give my order twice as the first guy ignored it and the second could not tell the difference between the words apple and blueberry.
This cafe seems very popular and the range of bread looks good. I won't go back though - the coffee is not that special and staff attitude is poor.

Sydney local. This bakery/cafe sells some of the best sourdough bread, pastries and pies in Sydney !
Plus Beautiful coffee and great service .
This cafe also offers a vast variety of sourdough bread and fresh pastries made fresh everyday :)
Highly recommended if you love coffee, bread and/or pastries!!
Personal favourites include the almond croissant and fruit loaf :)

Haven't tried the coffee. Baguettes weren't great. Owner not particularly friendly.

They are trying to undercut their competitors as a new entrant, sometimes the quality is compromised. The croissants, for example. Besides I don't think they take their coffee very seriously, judging from the cute kiddy coffee setup and the skill level of the barista. Very affordable and generous berry muffins though.

Excellent coffee, amazing bread- relaxed and cosy atmosphere

Worst coffee in kirribilli. Compared to the surrounding coffee cafés their coffee is bitter and bread and rolls displayed openly in window always have flies on them. I won't buy there again
