Review The Flying Bear - Kirribilli

Very nice views and good service Food was average/not bad but not great either. The smashed avo + eggs, mushrooms and bacon came to around $26. The coffee was good

Had a family birthday brunch at the bird & bear on Good Friday before heading to Luna Park. Beautiful morning out on the balcony. Food & service terrific & nothing was a problem. The wait staff were very welcoming & very efficient. Congrats to the chef. Really yummy food. We’ll definitely be back.

Came on a public holiday and was disappointed by how understaffed the place was. Half an hour waits for coffee and croissants. This is no reflection on the poor staff who were clearly doing their best, but rather the inept management who can't / won't pay for adequate staff at peak times.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere in this cafe. I made 2 new friends here. The food here was pretty but the taste was just so so. There's no latte art for flat white...But it's a good place for a rest. Especially when jacarandas blooming.

I can only give 2 stars as I didn't get to try their food and service. Went there on Sunday with my wife and son wanting to try out this good food recommended by a friend only to find that they are opening but actually under renovation and they have put like 4 tables on rocky service (uneven) for people to eat takeaways there. They didn't mention anything about the renovation on the website and I think it's pretty irresponsible for a food business to do that.

Great breaky break overlooking wonderfull views on a mysty morning. Excellent coffee and hot chocolate with croissant and breakfast bun. The croissant was buttery and well layered and flaky despite the wet morning. The brakfast bun egg still soft and the bacon crisp. Perfect. Great service and delightfull patrons. Highly recommended,

This cafe is slightly tricky to find - walk right around to the left of the building and you will see an entry near the big patch of grass at the side of the building. Once we eventually found this little cafe, we were very impressed! Lovely outdoor venue with a picturesque view. The food was very fresh and tasty. We will return!

If only this place could get its food, coffee, and service to match the quality of its breathtakingly beautiful location. The potential is incredible but the coffee is too often either insipid (so weak that I once sent back my take away flat white because I honestly couldn't believe they had put in any coffee, so much did it just taste of warm milk) or jowel-bustingly strong (long black), the food seems good but the prices too high, and the service too often comes without a smile. A wonderful café location but could be so much more. If it didn't have the view it would go bust, fast. Still worth going to for an equivocal hospitality experience in a very relaxing location.

Had awesome brekky last Saturday. Coffee was excellent and egg and bacon roll with chilli mayo was yummy. Great location a hidden treasure. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in Sydney.
