Review Thai Recipe - Kogarah

visited this shop last 16 January 2022 at around 1:40 pm. Tried the red curry which was sold at 12.50 per services. I did order for a can of coke but was wondering maybe the staff didn’t hear me say it.. couldn’t wait since I was really in a time constraint. The food was served warm which I like. Had more veggies than the chicken as expected in most Thai restaurant but for the price of 12.50 on a Sunday.. I would say it was ok. The taste was good although I was thinking it to be spicy 😅 location is close to the nearest hospital nearby. just about 5 minutes away. most costumers that day was 99 percent from this shop, a few shops were open but got no one. dinning area was outside although it was well separated which I would highly recommend. tried the green curry today (21 January, 2022). Still received a hot meal.

Nice Thai restaurant but definitely not the greatest. Staff are friendly and the lunch specials are priced well.

Tried pineapple fried rice over here and it’s so yummy. Lovely food and ambience.

Got delivery from Thai recipe and it was delicious! Ordered the green curry chicken, pad ki mao beef and coconut rice (partly eaten when I took the photo haha). Was pleasantly surprised that these were actually spicy (unlike a lot of places that make their dishes quite mild). Generous serving sizes and all tasty dishes. Will be keen to try other dishes next time :)

Worst Thai I’ve ever tasted . I was there last night . The entree was frozen. We ordered 6 dishes . Every dish tasted so bad .The salt and pepper squid wasn’t cooked through. I was so disappointed. I took 5 containers home to my adult children and they wouldn’t eat it so it wasn’t just me . I couldn’t believe how popular it was with takeaway. I never give poor feedback but I need to . It was well presented but the food was shocking . I was actually sick 5 hours after eating it . Which is why I can only rate it one star . Sorry . No happy -

It tasted like bland Chinese food. Pad Thai was boiled noodles and chicken, there was no garlic bean sprouts or peanuts? or any Thai flavours at all!! Fried rice was ok, a slight pass. Only the dim sims were good. I double checked the receipt I ordered from a Thai restaurant.

Use to be good but quality/value way down these days unfortunately. Not the freshest of ingredients used, pad thai and thai beef salad mediocre at best. Skimped on the thin beef pieces and uses frozen chicken, still not good ratios, just less than quality noodles. Would love to recommend, sadly not unless they improve their ingredients/ratios. Secondly their outdoor seating, many lights blown out/not replaced, basically ate half in dark. Thai place down the street way better.

Ordered home delivery. The beef curry and chicken and cashew were mostly vegetables had hardly any meat. When you are sharing with a family of 4 you want more than two tiny pieces of meat each. Ordered a side of satay sauce for $3 and came in a tiny container. Used to eat here a lot but will not be ordering again.

Friend recommended this place.Lunch special shown as below.I like Tom yum soup with prawns even 3 bucks extra. Unfortunately I did not find any lemon grass or Thai herb. They offered Pad Thai noodle in it.But I am still hungry, green curry tasted ok but average level. Friend ordered fried rice was good.

A delectable Thai experience at stone throw distance from home & across the street from Rockdale station. Pad Thai always a favourite & the default choice. Worth a recommendation!

We have been going to the "Thai recipe" for over 10 years (or more) since it opened. The food was always fresh but the presentation sometimes lacking.<br/>We at one time dined there several times a week but of late have migrated to other eateries such as pubs ( we dine out about six times a week).<br/>The "Thai recipe" was consistent but predictable & the terrible aluminium drinking mugs an embarrassment as is the warm bottled water. The staff often had poor English skills & rarely showed any friendliness. One reason that we drifted away was when they added corkage - not per bottle but per glass (person).<br/>"Thai recipe" is okay but it just isn't great, we still go there occasionally.<br/><br/>

Great little spot for Thai food in Kogarah. I usually take away spicy noodles with the prawns or chicken which is very flavoursome. Another favourite choice is the pineapple fried rice with the choice of your meat ( chicken or prawns ).They do nice lunch deals and service is pretty prompt. You can give them a call and pick up the take away order which is very convenient. Soft shell crab for the entree and steam dumplings are pretty good for light meals. <br/>

Cheap and tasty Thai. Had takeaway from here several times and always been nice. They deliver to our work which is handy when you can't get away. Nothing special but good value and worth a try.

Fantastic restaurant for those who want thai food! Perfect for a group lunch/ dinner. <br/><br/>I normally order some sort of stir noodle - pad see ew, proportions are relatively large! The chicken laksa is very flavourful - definitely will order again. For drinks, the coconut water is very fresh, and the thai milk tea is on the sweet side. <br/><br/>They have special deals for lunch which can make lunch more affordable. Overall service is average. <br/><br/>If you're want to try out somewhere new, definitely recommend this place. I come here regularly and it never disappoints me.<br/>

Food & service are below average. <br/>I ordered chicken noodle soup, the chicken is blend, dry & over-cooked. Soup base is over-powering, can't drink at all. The amount of noodle is so little. <br/>Came in lunch hour and the staff tried to charge me "dinner price"! <br/>Overall the meal is not enjoyable. Never come back again.

We ordered vegetarian spring rolls, roti bread, prawn Hokien noodles & their panang curry with beef. <br/><br/>For the price of these meals we were sure we'd be guaranteed at least decent Thai cuisine, in fact we felt that a $17 panang would have to be pretty good.<br/><br/>Sadly disappointed & hungry! The panang curry was not a curry. It was thin, watery thin, sickly sweet with bad cuts of beef. My husband (who's not picky at all) could barely eat any of it.<br/><br/>Roti bread is a favourite and a treat for my 7 year old (who is picky), we love seeing her jump for joy when we order this normally. Sadly what was delivered was pieces of dry, hard, tasteless bread with grill marks. No soft chewy, tasty flakes in site. <br/><br/>We'd have forgiven the UN-crunchy marinaded chicken wings, tough spring rolls, and badly balanced Hokien noodle sauce.... But when the only thing that was enjoyable was the basmati rice my husband made himself the whole delivered experience was completely unacceptable and a waist of money. <br/><br/>I will give a couple of points for my prawns, they were nice, pity about the sauce they were in, but the prawns nice.

I usually get food here for lunch or dinner. I must admit i love their portions and the price. However, the food they serve are not as good as few months ago. The food became so oily with less flavour. Would be better if there is airconditioning as this place becomes really hot in summer.

Dinner was a takeaway tonight. We ordered the green curry which was supposed to be with rice and the fried rice. The curry came without the rice something we realized once my husband was home.<br/><br/>Both the dishes tasted okay, green curry is supposed to be spicy this one was actually a tad sweet. We were really tired after a hard day of moving so just ate the food without a fuss.<br/><br/>Will give the place another try just might get better.

Hit and miss.<br/>Weekend dinners are great; good portions, fresh ingredients and genuinely outstanding. Weekdays reverts to a very poor standard. The unreliability is genuinely upsetting, we go to Number One Thai or the new joint on railway parade instead. If you go on a weekend must try: any soft shell crab option

Good little spot for lunch. Ordered a spicy Thai noodle, Choo Chee curry and a child herbs stir fry. Good quantity and great taste. $28 for 3 lunch dishes. Fantastic.

It's a good local Thai restaurant. Their chicken pad thai is a big serving which is perfect for sharing. It needed a bit more chicken pieces though. The curry puffs are generously filled and the pastry is crunchy and buttery. The staff are friendly and attentive.

Good ingredients make a great Thai recipe. Friendly patient service, honest cooking, what more could you want for a week night dinner or casual lunch. <br/><br/>Whole fried barramundi was a crowd pleaser the basil sauce was rich and great for dipping the fish which surprisingly was almost bone free. Lip smacking crunchy and perfect for sharing. <br/><br/>Tried the seafood rice which packed a punch. <br/><br/>Easy on the wallet and definitely will be back.

Best thai in my area Ever s.... Best thai in my area<br/>Ever since I moved here, I come to this restaurant either to take away or sit with my neighbour with a nice bottle of wine (as it is BYO $3 per bottle). Best dishes from this place was my very first choice from the very first time here: Pad thai with king prawn($16.90), the salt and pepper squid is pretty good($16.90), and also the whole fish barramundi with basil chilli sauce is fantastic. This is my favourite thai place in town, price very reasonable as well!

Tasty Thai and very convenient if u work at the hospital

Not worth a cent. Absolutely appalling. I have never experienced such incompetent service in my life.<br/><br/>It took 40 minutes for them to make a green curry and whenever I enquired about it they didn't give me an answer. They should really take some English lessons before they decide to work in the hospitality industry.<br/><br/>The food itself was nothing special. My tofu green curry had about two slices of tofu in it and the taste was bland and boring. Some one else ordered the roast duck and I swear to god it spelt like a wet dog dying. Gross.

Friendly service, clean and tidy with authentic food. The massaman curry was excellent and fast to come out. Nothing was oily or fatty either. And the price is very fair for what you receive.

Even better!. We have been going to Thai Recipe for a couple of years now and it is easily the best Thai food in the area. The have just re-done the interior and menu with even more options including fantastic coconut rice! The patio seating area is lovely as are the staff. Very well priced food too.

Do you want to have an authentic Thai dish with all the beautiful spices of their cuisine without paying an expensive bill? Then this restaurant is the best option in Kogarah.

Great food, quick service, great prices. Delivery too

Best Thai in the area. Definitely very good food, generous portions, the rice dishes are good, however the laksa is too sweet for my taste.<br/><br/>Highly recommended, wish they were listed on menulog.

I go here all the time. The staff made an effort to remember my name and the food is delicious. Best thai in st George area

Excellent. Friendly service, reasonable prices and GREAT tasting thai food. A must try if your around Kogarah, but try and avoid lunchtime during the week as alot of hospital staff like to get take away, so its EXTREMELY busy
