Review Barra Shak - Kununurra

Friendly staff, but a bit oily and very salty. Pineapple fritter slapped in with the other stuff and covered in salt instead of cinnamon sugar. RIP pineapple fritter🍍🪦 calimari was small and chewy. Barra was ok though. Not the best

We stayed next doors the Barra Shack and thought we'd give it a go as we were too lazy to cook ourselves. My companion had the hamburger and felt it was fulfilling and satisfying without the bells and whistles of a $12 hamburger. I had the Barra burger (around $14), which was absolutely fantastic. The serving was very generous with 2 barra pattys cooked to perfection plus the things you'd normally expect in the burger. We shared large chips and had a dim sim each. The chips size was on the smaller side, but big enough for 2 people to share. All in all, it hit the spot.

The worst fish n chips we have ever had. Ordered 2 Barra and got 6 clearly they were trying to get rid of it. It was inedible and had more grease pouring out of the batter than a bottle of oil. We threw it all in the bin. Save your money and don’t shop here

Paid $17 for piece of Barra and serving of chips for one person, I thought it was a bit pricey but figured i'd give it a go. When I picked it up it was a pretty small serving even for one person, everything was dry and overcooked. Asked if the Barra was fresh or saltwater, was told they were unsure and that they buy it from Coles.

We received our food and really were not happy. I work in hospitality so I know that unless it's really bad you don't complain. I'm sorry but the fish was cooked so much it was like eating chicken, way too oily, spring rolls dripping with oil. When I phoned to complain I spoke to a young lady who was very nice and offered a refund. Thanks very much for that.

Needs a bit more salt, pepper and lemon.

After reading all the great reviews, Barrashak was a disappointment. Sorry but fish and chips are usually not that colour. The fish and chips were edible but next time my craving for fish and chips gets too strong, I think I will try somewhere else.

It was the most disgraceful fish & chips I have ever tried to eat. Everything was so over cooked & oily. If I lived in town I would have returned it. Never again Barra Shack �
