We had a fabulous family celebration here tonight. We had the hot and cold seafood platter as an entree for six, which was perfect. This was followed by the lobster mornay, steak with mushroom sauce, chilli prawns and their famous seafood chowder. Everything was so tasty, filling, beautifully presented and satisfying. I would highly recommend The Lazy Lobster for any special occasion or for a tasty meal at any time. I’m already dreaming about that seafood chowder!
We had 2 of the seafood platters between 4 adults there was so much that we physically couldnt get through it! It was amazing. Especially the crumbed scallops, yum!
The fruit was beautiful and so pretty.
The service was amazing. The lady with the accent served us and she was amazing. Knew all about the menu and was so happy to answer all our questions and swap what we didnt eat. that's good service! Well done!

Had a great experience here, we ordered oysters as entree which were done three different ways which were just fantastic. Also ordered a prawn salad and fish of day which were excellent and well presented. The itself is a bit pricey but you pay for what you get, the food is delicious. Only problem I had was I felt like the place was under staff, I only saw two waitresses on shift and the whole place was full of customers, which meant the food came up slower and waited a while to order. But overall was a pleasant experience and delicious food!
5 stars!!
Amazing food, gorgeous setting great service what more would you want!
Lobster absolutely standout but oysters and pasta also amazing a must visit restaurant
To be honest a pain to get to if you are in Surfers. I can only say the effort is worth it. We had the garlic panini and oysters kilpatrick. Nice starter. Then my wife had lobster and I had the bug pasta with salad. Delicious!!! Amazing value for amazing food. Must go! Top 10 restaurants ever easily!!!
Omg! Just how good is the Seafood Chowder here, I must say it's like the original American recipe only done better. What a great find, highly recommended!!!
Get the Seafood Chowder in cob bread bowl. Just do it. Been here twice last two times I've been in the area. Fantastic place to eat. Highlight is definitely the Chowder tho!
Update. Went again March 2019. Still excellent. Seafood chowder still incredible. All meals very well reviewed by our table of 6.
I gave four point for the soup which I forgot the name. But worth tasting. Others are fine, a little expensive but can still take it. Also the view is good.
Reasonably priced restaurant overlooking the broadwater. Delicious garlic prawn entree & seafood chowder & spaghetti marinara mains. Great service. Will return!
Best seafood chowder I've ever had. It was rich and creamy, full of chunky ingredients, and served in a delicious soup cob - so incredibly satisfying! We also tried the Hot and Cold Seafood Platter, which the menu said was for two but we split it between four and still couldn't finish it all.

I asked for a seafood platter not an unending bucket of tasty seafood that keeps going and going and going until my sweat smells like tasty seafood. Then I was stupid enough to order the chowder to which a small child can drown in its tasty smooth creaminess. They don't have seafood flavoured dessert, a bit disappointing from a seafood point of view but maybe for the better from a dining point of view.
The meals are nice. My husband enjoyed his but the meals size (schnitzel) was quite small. I thought I would be wow-ed but wasn't. Would go back for a casual lunch.
We went to the lazy lobster last night for dinner.
I ordered the garlic prawns which was very nice. The rice it came out with was more of a risotto than rice, which was quite different to have with the prawns.
My son had the fish and chips, and his was lovely, the fish was moist and soft, while the batter was crisp and crunchy...very yummy. His salad was so fresh and colourful and looked great for a kids meal!.
My husband had the chilli prawns and rated my garlic prawns over his. Because his prawns were not marinated all the way through, as his still had the shell on his.
I wouldn't order the chilli prawns again, and for $32 dollars it was not worth the price.
Costumer service was great, they were friendly and the restaurant was cool and inviting. Decor was sensational, and chairs and tables were very comfortable to sit at and eat. They were all quick to come to your table, and actually cared about how your meal tasted. And all our meals come out at once and were hot. Over all it was a beautiful place to start a holiday at.
Service was slow restaurant was stinking hot why move to nicer premises and not use the aircon it was ridiculously hot everyone at our table was sweating. Food was good wont go there again until winter time!
Restaurant. We were seated and attended to by the wait staff who were very friendly. The wine was nice and cold and I had the seafood chowder which was served in a large hollowed out bread roll or damper and was most enjoyable. I then had pepper steak and it was so tender and cooked to perfection, no gristle or fat in it. Next time I won't have the entrée because I was too full but after waiting a while, I succumbed to a crème Broulee which was to die for. They kept the cold water up to us throughout the meal and it turned out to be a really enjoyable dining experience. I think perhaps I should have had the chowder and the dessert with no main. But then the steak was so good I would not have liked to miss out on that. I will be back but next time I will skip lunch on the day I go.
We were a bit sceptical about taking our six month old here for dinner after reading previous reviews, but we had a very enjoyable meal. We called ahead to let them know we had a pram, and they were very obliging and found a table with room for all three of us in the main dining area. The waitress was very friendly and prompt. The food was also very tasty. Areas for improvement would be to have more options for the non seafood eaters (2 Chicken dishes and 1 veggie to choose from) and replace the cheap paper napkins (if you are paying 50 bucks for a lobster, a paper napkin may appear a bit on the tacky side), but these are very minor criticisms.
Otherwise more then happy to return.
Been a while. Haven't been to the Lazy Lobster for couple year's now
My wife was giving me the hint this afternoon that I had better take her out for dinner
I took the hint and the Lazy lobster ot was
Relatively quick to get seated ordered our usual pair of esspresso martinis these where made very nicely
We then ordered the seafood platter for 2
When it came out it looked fabulous and the little flame out of the pineapple looked great the seafood was delicious great assortment of deep fried and cold seafood very happy!
Lobster was fresh as was the crab and the oysters where really nice as well
Service was really attentive
overall a lovely evening
considering I hadn't planned to go out and a last moment thought
I was impressed with the food and found the staff to be incredibly friendly! Will definitely return again!
Awesome food and Service. I went there with my girlfriend just before Christmas. We ordered of the half-price menu and the food was amazing, great value and awesome portion size as well as being delicious. When my girlfriend had a reaction to something in the mushroom sauce, they practically insisted on making a new sauce just for her and gave her new chips and veges to go with it. was so good I recommended to my family that we go there for lunch a week later and it didn't disappoint on the second visit. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff. First time eating here, I was hesitant on ordering the pepper steak from a seafood restaurant, pointless worries, simply THE best meal I have paid for. I will be back and be recommending to others. The meals going out to other tables also looked stunning! If they can do the "turf" so well, I can only image how good the surf will be.
Always delicious!. As a Gold Coast local I like to try lots of the venues around to throughly enjoy our lovely lifestyle here plus know the good ones for our many interstate visitors. We are return customers of the Lazy Lobster. The freshness and lovely flavours of the seafood is great. Previously I didn't eat seafood but have tried it here and am now a convert. (I can confirm too their pepper steak is brilliant!) A great place to try and a lovely setting. The food is consistently good and the service is well above par, and certainly well above other GC restaurants.
My wife and I enjoyed this place. We had items from the specials menu. The Cajan Barramundi and the King Snapper as a Gluten Free. The wait staff understood the GF issues. There is seating inside and under cover outdoor seating. There is also a half price menu.
You must order the chowder, amazing! Best on the coast!
Went there for dinner as heard good reviews about the restaurant. It is located in Labrador, Gold Coast and is on the road facing the sea. Service is good, friendly and we were given plenty of good advice on what to order, what is good value, not to over order as servings are big, etc. Platter sizes are massive, and even if it says for 2, it can easily feed 3 people. We had the tequila oyster shots (pretty strong), wine and for the food we had the BBQ Seafood Platter and the 2 x seafood chowder (which the soup/chowder can come in a bowl made from bread or can come in a bowl by itself, we had one of each style and shared among us) and the garden salad. There were 4 of us sharing this, and we could not finish it - doggy bags are provided. The BBQ Seafood platter was huge. It has prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, mussels, chips, rice and some greens, cucumber. The chowder was very thick and creamy, almost too thick for me. We would have have plenty of food and been full even without the salad. Individual finger bowls were provided, which is a nice touch. Atmosphere was relaxing, with dim lights but not too dark that you could not see what you were eating, ambience, noise and lighting was just right. Will be back.
The stand out: excellent, friendly service. Beautiful surroundings, comfortable in all weather. Great menu, although not as flexible as we'd thought. Still, thoroughly enjoyed our fresh lobster, fantastic pasta with lashings of juicy fresh prawns & seafood.. & then there was the wine- enough to satisfy even the fussiest!
Great food! Seafood was fresh. However I had no idea why we ordered fish and chips for the kid but received steak instead. Will still be back to try the seafood platter :)
Bug papperdelle was delicious. Chocolate mouse , divine. Will definitely come back again. Great views , good wine selection and staff attentive. Brandy snap nice and crunchy
This place was pretty nice! I really appreciated how helpful the staff were, but the food served was a tiny bit on the bland side. There also seemed to be a lot of variation on the quantity of entree sized meals. We were told that the bread and dips meal (pictured) would serve 4, but it would honestly be a great size for 1 or 2 people, whereas the entree sized calamari was enough for a full meal (also pictured).
We love The Lazy Lobster! It’s our go-to local which never disappoints. The staff are always super lovely and amazing. We’ve NEVER had a bad experience (food or service). Highly recommend the hot and cold seafood platter for two. Amazing presentation and delicious seafood and fruit. Yummy! 😋 Their mojitos are pretty awesome too!
This place is epic , one of our favourite go too’s🙌🙌
The food is epic and the staff are really friendly and accomodating.
Thanks for another amazing meal everyone at lazy lobster 🦞❤️
