Review Jasmin Lebanese Restaurant - Lakemba

Joe Raheb
Definitely not the same Jasmin restaurant. If you don't know Arabic food you may like this but certainly very disappointing. Foul and lamb pieces were terrible. Homus and falafel were OK. But why would you eat here? Traditional breakfast always has tea. Guess what they don't have tea. Obviously not owned by Arabic people. Find a better option guys. In addition decor is so outdated. I should have figured out the poor quality when I noticed it was empty..

Nice small restaurant with great tasting middle eastern food. Friendly staff.

I just had foul and hummus topped up with meat . Paid $29 , definitely worth not even a penny. Customer service 🐕‍đŸŠș s nice especially the old man with mustache. But food is rubbish in another word garbage. In fact I knew that fact long time a go why because they don't have professional Lebanese chef , also the the ingredients they use it's poor quality. The only reason I was there today because they are the only restaurant was open . I feel sorry for people form different backgrounds they think this is a real food . Shame on you . I can make way better food than Jasmine at home . Goodbye Jasmine

Jasmines Lakemba is easily the best jasmines there is. Their Lamb is second to none and the chicken is beautiful. The fateh with Shawarma, simply amazing. The owner (Guy with mustache) is lovely. Hes so warm, welcoming, generous and friendly. I don't know how anyone could write reviews saying otherwise. With that being said, all the staff are great. 11/10, one of my favourite

The amount of food they give you in this branch compared to the other branches its too little. I ordered mixed plate and tiny kebab stick and only 4 little pieces of lamb and a chicken thigh instead of a normal sheesh tawook. I love Jasmin Lebanese Restaurant but his branch is not good.

The customer service here is horrible, the owner was very rude to us. We wanted clean cups and he was ready to slap us for such a simple request. I understand that it might have been busy while we were there but that is no excuse. We had to ask multiple times most of the time and the environment was very uncomfortable.

I had fond memories of this place when I came a few times about 10 years ago. I came back today for lunch and was a bit underwhelmed. The standard mixed plate ($25) was a bit smaller than I recall, the baba ganoush was not as smoky as other places, but everything else like meat and falafel were tasty. The menu has all the prices blanked out so we needed to ask the staff for the price. We can only assume everyone gets quoted the same amount.

The worst Lebanese resturant ever. I could not finished my food. Everything was awful, especially the shawarma plate. The waiter was so bad and he told me the small tabolli is $20. I dont know why they dont put price on the menu.
Andrew Ricard
Go here now. Get the mixed plate. Thank me later.

Very bad service and very bad quality food compared to other Jasmine restaurants
The person in the check out is very rude and gridy

So many mixed plates to choose from and none of them will disappoint! I've heard people rave about this place so I had to try it myself. A very authentic experience with delicious food that can be easily shared between 2-3 people. Jasmins is the place to go if you're craving Lebanese food.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

It was lovely and welcoming. The owner is very attentive which is a big plus to service that they had at this restaurant. I usually don’t like lamb but this was an exception another plus was that they have free pickles and bread which is not as common at other Jasmin outlets that are within my vicinity.

Delicious with generous portion, i reckon it will be for 3-4 females (asian). Love the hommus and garlic dip.
Staff is very proactive, and food are quickly being served. Ambience is fine. Good to experience a Lebanese signature dish.

So we heard of this place from a local resident. The price is very cheap and affordable, which is a big plus. The serving is generous. However that’s about it.. food is okay.
Sweet And Sour Fork
I was very hungry that day, and my mouth immediately began watering when the rich aroma of spices and fat from the Lamb Shawarma ($13) hit me. This was everything I wanted – the meat was smoky and tender, flavoured lavishly with lemon and spice. Wrapped in pita with pickles, tabouli, and garlic sauce, it made for a mean DIY kebab.

There are many Lebanese restaurants with 'Jasmin' or similar variant that it gets a bit confusing. This place is not affiliated with them.

My overall impression of this place is that it is good value. I tried the mixed platter and also the fattoush. The standouts were the lamb shish and the fattoush. The other items in the mixed platter were average, but their garlic sauce and the grilled chicken is not as good as other places.

They are very generous with the serving sizes and gave plenty of bread, pickles, onion, tomato and mint to accompany the dishes.

I'd be interested to return to try their shawarma and their tawouk.

The wall and ceiling decorations were very cool.

Love love love it here! Our go to place for Lebanese or when we’re in the mood for takeout because their food is great and prices are so cheap. Major bonus having Uber eats so they deliver the goodness straight to your door! Falafel is amazing as well as their chilli chicken!

I hardly gives ratings of 5 but this place has never disappointed me. I have been going there for many years and seen it go through changes... i do recommend it for lebanese food that is reasonably priced :)

Praise Uber Eats for delivering me a middle eastern feast that I proceeded to eat in bed with the electric blanket on continuing a Grace and Frankie marathon.

I got the standard mixed plate with extra tabouli and it was delicious

Been a regular for many years, love the food and service however toilet, sanitary area seriously needs attention. Rather gross, wet and appearing un hygienic. Everything else is great.

I like going to this place again and again. Mouth watering mixed plate vegetarian or grilled chicken/lamb platters not to be missed. Pickled olives, hummus and salad will make you crave for more. Must Visit

Definitely best middle eastern food I've tried so far. Anytime I crave for some good no drama lebanese food, Jasmins is always the go to place. Falafel is emmmmhhh crunchy crispy and nicely flavoured...I couldnt believe it's chickpeas all along...Great atmosphere in the restaurant and service is always efficient. Do try this place out to experience Sydney more..

I love this place so much. I'd drive 2 hours each way just to eat here. Luckily I don't have to but I do regularly drive 30 minutes each way because what anyone else says it's the best Lebanese restaurant in Sydney.

The service is great, the food is just awesome and it's priced well.

If only I had two stomachs so I didn't have to alternate between my favourites each time I go and could just order like 6 things every time.
Jasmins is a simple restaurant which serves traditional Lebanese cuisine in Lakemba. They offer a wide assortment of Middle Eastern food and drinks including my favourite Grandpa's Ayran, a savoury yogurt drink that is extremely popular in the Middle East.

I tried their chicken mixed plate three Fridays ago and was impressed with the succulent, juicy and tender chicken thigh. The addictive garlic mayonnaise, crunchy falafel and tabouli salad (traditional Lebanese salad comprising finely chopped parsley, tomatoes and shallots) were worthy complements in the mixed plate. My only peeve was that the chicken thigh was not served pipping hot so that I could savour the grill and barbecue chicken thigh.

Jasmin's is by far one of my most favorite and the best Lebanese restaurant i have eaten at. My family and i have been coming here for years and the taste of their food and portion sizes have always been consistently good.
Over the years, the only thing i've seen this restaurant change is their prices. Although the mixed plates are cheap and still a reasonable price despite the price hike, they used to be ridiculously cheap once.
They serve really good hummus and baba ganoush here and really good falafel (theyre really crispy which makes them so good). Their complimentary bread is always really fresh too and they bring it out with pickles (which i dont eat). Small servings of garlic sauce and tahini are also complimentary.
If ever in Lakemba and in the mood for some great tasting Lebanese food, this place is definitely recommended by me.
All About Food Blog
This week, we will review a Lebanese restaurant that people talked about (at least in my circles). The restaurant name is Jasmins and it is located in Lakemba. The restaurant itself is far from the words ‘fancy’ and ‘glamorous’. They are more like ‘down to earth’ kind of restaurant. Apparently, their falafel is quite famous and it is not something that I would normally order. Luckily, they give two falafels in every mixed plate. And I have to agree, they are the best I’ve ever tasted in Sydney.

Delicious and so affordable! Authentic Lebanese food that comes aplenty. I've heard taxi drivers rave about not eating the whole day to prepare for Jasmines! Was great and I'd make the trip again, especially with the Bangladeshi sweets around the corner ;)

The original and still the best IMO. Food cooked fresh to order the authentic way. Once you pop you literally any stop, it's like a flavour bomb of amazing food that blows you away.

The staffs re ever so helpful and tend to all your questions and needs in a timely manner.

A must try

Best value for money in Lakemba and they've been there forever. I aways tend to grab their mixed plate dish for take away and I've never been disappointed. Must try of you're in Lakemba.

I love Lebanese food and I did my research and came across this restaurant. I live nearby and could not believe that this place was so good! I ordered the vegetarian plate and another meat dish to share. We could not finish the food. The hummus was exceptionally amazing and creamy and the falafel was divine. Would definitely come back.

Jasmins in Lakemba is one of the best Lebanese restaurants i have been to by far. I've been coming here for years and the taste and serving sizes have always been good and consistent. The only thing that has changed about this restaurant over the years is the price. The mixed plates here used to be really cheap although they're still reasonably priced despite the price rise. The hummus and baba ganoush here is delicious and i love how crispy the falafels are. They always bring out fresh bread and pickles to enjoy with the meal as well as small servings for tahini and garlic sauce.
If youre ever in Lakemba and looking for delicious Lebanese food, Jasmins is the place to go.

The best Lebanese food in Sydney. Reasonable price, generous serves, friendly staff, homely atmosphere & excellent food- what else do you need. Must go!

I was quite disappointed by the food when I ate it due to the restaurants great review. Although the portions were big, service was friendly my food was lacking freshness. I had the vegetarian mixed plate and the falafels were cold in the middle. However their abundance in side dishes and sauces was really impressive!

Fantastic Lebanese food in an authentic setting; a gem of a place in Punchbowl. Friendly staff, Mixed plate is a must !! I have been coming here for years, even travel from crows nest for a good feed from time to time, totally worth the drive
El Chupacabra
The felafels are AMAZING. The Muhalabia is a MAJOR WIN as well. You'll be licking your lips with its sweet, juicy rosy taste all night long.

They would get a full 5.0 if they make their own khubus (Lebanese bread - as you Aussies call it) and increased the quality of their kebabs. The free garlic, salad and bread is a very nice gesture.

Delicious middle eastern cuisine, with a wonderful wall mural in the restaurant setting. I really can't go past the mixed plate.. It's got the grilled chicken, lamb, kofta, and other tasty bites, various dips, tabouleh, pickles.. Simply fabulous. For those who don't like the lamb taste, there is the chicken plate or the vegetarian plate.. All yummo and recommended.
Food Obsessed
Oh I am so happy with this find. I got a mixed platter and everything on that plate was beautifully cooked. I couldn't choose a favourite between the lamb, grilled chicken or tasty falafel. The staff attentive, the food tasty, the portions generous I'll go back for sure!

Jasmins is beautiful to walk into, it has a traditional décor with domed ceiling, beautiful friezes on the walls depicting the architecture of castles and ports and marble fixtures.

Being newbies, we weren’t sure what to expect.

Luckily, there is a selection of mixed plates, and hubby chose the standard mixed plate ($16.50). The mixed plate came with hummous (Jasmins’ spelling), baba ghannouj, kafta, shish kebab, chicken, falafel, kebbeh and tabouli. The kafta (or kofta) is the long grilled skewered meat patty. I was hooked on the baba gahnnouj (eggplant dip), so much smoky, mellow flavour. The main come with a mixed plate of pickled salad, chillies, olives, tomato, a raw onion and mint. BL loved the pickled chillies; I stuck to the pickled cucumber and olives.

I went for the fateh and shawarma ($11) to be mopped up with warm, thin quarters of pita bread. For my introduction to fateh, I think this was hummus with texture, whole soft chickpeas and crunchy pine nuts with the tangy yoghurt. The lamb pieces was flavoursome and very tender.

We threw caution to the wind, and ordered a serve of mint yoghurt drink. I could not get used to the salty yoghurt drink, it was odd to taste savouriness when your mind expects something sweet.

Overall, it was a really delicious, eye-opening experience, and something I look forward to experiencing more of.

Jasmin is still one of the best cheap eats in Sydney. Astonishingly good, fresh Lebanese food, and generous servings at phenomenally reasonable prices

jasmin is the ultimate lebanese food restaurant i have had anywhere in the world, not even Dubai or Abu Dhabi could match it. The falafels are amazingly crispy, the Homus, tum, taboli the olives and salad are awesome. If u want go to food heaven this is it. Do try the butter milk Airan and fresh orange juice in a bottle. However the ambience is very very different to a point it gets a bit scary to go there late in the night. Have eaten here for 4 years and can gurantee amazing taste. Its is very cheap as well

Naaaah. Well advertised and decorated but fast, greasy and poor quality.

Best Lebanese Restaurant in Sydney!. In my opinion this is the best Lebanese restaurant out of the many others I have been to in Sydney. Quality food, fast and friendly service and they are always consistent, my personal favourite is the Lamb Shawarma mixed plate and the Labne with fried bread, everything you need and more. They consistently have the freshest ingredients and the food is delivered quickly and with a smile, the atmosphere is awesome (simple but always busy) and the food is great value for money.

A good felafel is hard to find. Arguably Sydney's best are at Jasmins - the original, independent and best, found in Lakemba. Jasmins is a welcoming, authentic gem in the cultural melting pot that is Lakemba in South West Sydney. Haldon St near Lakemba St. Photo: Willunga Wino Surrounded by a Fijian Island restaurant, Indian grocers, halal butchers, Pakistani restaurants, and Manoosh bakeries, Jasmins is clean, neat & pretty with faux marble walls and decorative ceiling patinas. Each table is stocked with the house produced olive oil, and vinegar, to add as you please. Inviting interior. Photo: Willunga Wino There is a hand washing station tucked into the corner behind the drinks cabinets - handy (excuse the pun) as this is food for sharing and using fingers. The same manager/waiter gentleman, has worked here since we have been coming, around 8 years. He runs a tight ship, promptly brings menus, clears tables, and wipes them clean with a friendly demeanour. Decorative stucco. Photo:

Jasmins has to be my favourite Lebanese restaurant. At Jasmins you are guaranteed delicious and authentic Lebanese food and you will definitely be stuffed! I always go for the Mixed Plate so I get some of everything! The Mixed Plate consists of falafel, hommus, baba ghannouj, tabouli as well as your choice of meat. My favourite is the Standard Mixed Plate ($15) with kafta, shish kebab, chicken and kebbeh. So good, especially if you love variety!! The falafel is particularly a standout, it is crispy and crunchy on the outside but its contents are so light and fluffly. A side of chips is a must when you have lebanese food. All mains and mixed plates also come with complimentary plate of pickled salad, tempers, chillies, olives, tomatoes, onion and mint, basket of bread and of course, you can't forget the garlic sauce!! Jasmins is my go-to Lebanese restaurant. I can always count on value for money, delicious food and fast service. However, be prepared to wait for a table on a busy Friday

They also seem to have expanded their catering menu to a number of dishes not available in the normal dine-in experience. I’m tempted to organise a party as an excuse to try it out.

The lightest, fluffiest garlic sauce, the crunchiest falafels with the softest insides, the tastiest tabouli, the smokiest chicken, the most mountainous pile of Lebanese bread you've ever been served, the pickle-iest pickles, you get the idea?

On an extremely hot and sunny day, we ate delicious Lebanese food at Jasmin...a friendly restaurant with delightful murals (including one of the Tuna Steak Isles, shown below).

If there's anything that brings people together, it's food. Communal dining is even better. Sharing dishes amongst the table means everyone has to engage with each other, and consumption is no longer a private affair but a loud and colourful group effort.

Lebanese food holds a special place in my heart as one of my favourite cuisines. If I were asked to articulate why that was so though, I’m not sure that I would have a suitable answer. Probably the closest I could come to an answer would be that it’s food
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
Apr. 5th, 2007 at 10:06 PM A wonderful friend of mine introduced us to Jasmin , a Lebanese Restaurant in Lakemba . Well through misadventure, we failed to meet up with them tonight for dinner there as arranged, but the smell of the food pulled us in, and

DONT BOTHER GOING. We have had lebanese food at Jasmine Auburn. Their service and quality is exceptional. But yesterday we decided to try lakemba Jasmine and our experience was utterly disappointing
1.we came in and was not greeted or asked to sit, the old waiter screamed at us wanting us to order at counter.
2. They dont give you menus at table anymore
3. When the food arrived it was digusting, the falafeel was soo oily I could see it droop. The chicken and meat was burnt and they served only a small portion of homous.
4.my wife ordered sauages and all she got was 6 2 cm sauages that tasted disgusting
5. The cashier women then went around the table asking few guests to pay for the extra drinks. Some had to leave eating and go and pay her.
6. They refused to serve a couple who just walked in 15 mins closing time.
7. They dont accept cards, so be prepared to pay cash.
8. Hospitality and ambience was horrible

I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AND IF I WAS YOU I WOULD TAKE THIS ADVISE. Visit punchbowl or auburn jasmin instead.
Andrea
Best falafel in the WORLD. Never knew what a falafel could actually taste like until tonight. Best Lebanese I've ever had, PERIOD. If I lived near this place, I'd eat it every day of the week for the rest of my life. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.

10/10 - Delicious. Ate there for the first time last night. Friendly service and phenomenal food. All the traditional Lebanese fare you'd expect, prepared to perfection. I see a few people claiming this is the best Falafel they've ever had.... I tell you what, it's pretty damn close. Amazing.

Best Falafel in Australia, I know it's a big call but seriously they are the best! Never had a bad meal here, I can't wait to get back to Sydney to go back there! Great service also! Highly recommended.

The best. Best food ever! Let alone Lebanese food!

Always good, serving portions haven got a little small over the years but doesn't diminish from the overall experience.

Excellent Food, Authentic Experience. Jasmins is your authentic Lebanese food experience. Do not expect a fancy restaurant & comfortable chairs but do expect fine quality kebab platters, good falafel, excellent garlic dip, unlimited Lebanese bread and a passionate waiter. All in all, it's a great experience. Highly recommended.
Sydneyguyrojoe
This is the first Lebanese place i ever been too and still my favorite. ITs a bit of nostagla, back in the uni days which was more than 10 years ago we would come here to pig out. Only now on occasion we do this, prices have gone up but still cheap compared to a lot of places. Quality and taste is still the same, its a must visit place, none of the JAsmin's ive been to have ever disappointed me but this place brings back the memories of the good old days!!

Great shared plate. Very quick pick up option for shared plate! Best Lebanese Food I've ever had! Great also for groups of people.

Love this place! Best Lebanese food in Sydney. Pricing is awesome. The garlic dip would have to be my absolute favourite as is the felafel.
Piggy McFatso
Food - 9/10, Ambience - 5/10, Service - 6/10, Value - 10/10. This place is fantastic. Absolutely love the quality of the food! I always order the mixed plate which comes with baba ghanoush, hommous, two falafels, a chicken skewer, charred beef chunks, lamb sausage, tabouli and lovely tangy garlic sauce. Lebanese bread and pickles are complimentary. All delicious. The falafels are hands down the best in Sydney! Try the home made honey lemon drink for ultimate refreshment. The ambience is a bit noisy when it's crowded, but otherwise average. The service is alright, friendly but nothing special. The prices are low, completely delicious cheap eat! If you're in the area, give it a go.

This place is value for money... Portions and quality is unbelievable. Always crowded
