Located on Birdwood Lane, this small cafe had mostly al fresco seating which was all occupied on this sunny afternoon. I chose to sit indoors at the bench seating near the window. Wasn’t sure if you’re meant to order at the register or if they take your order so I chose to pay and order at the register. The service was nice.
I was going to order the Pannacotta however I was advised it was no longer available from the menu. I went with a Banana Bread as my afternoon snack with a Mocha. They used Double Roasters which is one of my favourites. The banana bread was thickly sliced and lightly toasted with some butter. The coffee was a smooth blend however I should have mixed it a bit more as they used chocolate buds and it was stuck all the bottom of the cup!
Hidden away, tucked at the back of a set of shops, next to a carpark & opposite a construction site. It’s not the ideal spot of a lazy weekend brunch. Yet this small & cozy cafe is filled to the brim. The service was efficient & friendly, my coffee & benedict came out quickly. The poached egg was perfectly oozy. Coffee was nice. A nice start to the weekend.
One of the best coffees in Lane Cove, they also do my favourite Avo Smash in a certain way, and I could go there for brekky every single morning. 👌
Visited here with a friend for a quick lunch.Lovely service from staff and the coffee was nice!Came here to mainly try the croque monsieur and it did not disappoint, it was massive! I could barely finish it but a very filling quick feed.
The food was delicious and the customer service was over the top as everyone was very friendly!!! Highly recommend the smoothies as well. I've bee around 5 times and every time I get more and more pleased.
The food was above average, but what got us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Felt very much that they wanted you to enjoy your time there. They mad sure the high chair was spotlessly clean for my toddler, which rarely happens, so extra points!
Best coffee in Lane Cove. Well extracted. Great priced breakfasts. Had avo on toast - simple small but quality. A real gem off the main mall.
Love this new discovery in Lane Cove. Its very popular cafe for breakfast that we needed to wait for a little while to be seated. But I think it's worth the wait as the coffee is nice. The food is simple yet creative.
Birdwood is set to change the landscape of cafe culture in Lane Cove. In Birdwood Lane, it's tucked away from the frenetic pace of Longueville Road and the plaza, enjoying a welcome leafy outlook. The concise menu has been well thought out and appeals to all, from the healthy bowl for the gym goers to the Croque Monsieur for comfort eaters. It's a relief to see a good handful of dishes executed well, rather than hundreds of options half done. It's also refreshing to note that everything is made on site, from scratch, except for the bread and croissants. The pulled pork sandwich with house made kim chi was an excellent balance of meaty flavour and freshness. The house cured trout with minted peas was delicious and healthy enough to leave room for some house made muffins, packed with blueberries and surprising with a few chocolate chips. Coffee by Double Roasters is new to Lane Cove but it's going to give the other coffee houses in the precinct a run for their money. Its early days as yet but I'm looking forward to seeing what this little cafe is capable of achieving.
A fantastic new cafe in Lane Cove - really worth trying out for brunch. Food is delicious, fresh and unlike anything else in the area. Great coffee as well. I really recommend the health bowl.
