Review Cafe Mondello - Launceston

Jack Hogan
The people here were lovely. The coffee was nice aswell. The eggs Benedict with bacon was really good. Perfectly poached eggs, the bacon was well cooked and the bread was nicely toasted too. The mushroom toast however was amazing. The goat curd complimented the mushrooms deliciously, and to top it off, the tastiest halloumi I’ve had at a cafe in ages.

Great little spot with a good range of breakfast options. The mushroom and truffles on toast was spectacular. There are a range of vegetarian options that can be made vegan upon request. The eggs Florentine were also really tasty with what tasted like a homemade hollandaise. The quality was reflected in the price, only reason for 4 not 5 stars

Cafe Mondello, an oldie but a consistent goodie in the area. My local for many years, and never a bad coffee. The Chefs Paul and James are willing to accommodate any dietary requests or menu queries within reason. Try the Poached Pears, or Black Beans dish for a flavour bomb!

Very slow service (well over half an hour, empty tables, other tables had been served their food and drink) for not very inspiring food. Affogato was good though.

From the moment we stepped into the premise, to leaving it, the experience has been amazing. Best coffee in Launceston hands down. The mushroom and feta were sublime- I’ve never tasted anything that good before. The corn fritters were delicious. The team were so incredibly friendly and accomodating, and loved that we could talk and hear ourselves because the background music was exactly that- in the background!

Great spot, good selection of food and best of all the coffee is GOOD!!

Came here for breakfast and asked for the French toast to share….our normal experience would be getting an extra fork maybe but these guys split the portion onto two plates like we were getting two meals. The vibe is great and loved their flourless orange cake, goes great with the roasted long black coffee flavour.

Did not meet our expectations as per google reviews. Food was ok, bacon is a bit salty. Coffee is not great (we are from Melbourne but we've had better in Tassie). A bit pricey for the serving size. Ambiance was great though, a bit small so gets full quickly.

Went in on a sunday morning . Full inside but not a big establishment by any means The service from staff very cold and rehearsed. I ordered a very unconventional french toast with cream, lemon curd and strawberries. I at least ordered bacon to resemble a true french toast . Bacon was tough and overcooked and toast was doughy n mixture was not cooked enough. In this day and age with so much competition, places like this hopefully are put on notice to lift quality of food and service . The chai was out in 3 minutes but a long delay for the supposes french toast . Overall dinibg experience warranted a fail and a no return policy

Cafe mondello does the best French toast I have ever had served with fresh berries, lemon curd & cream.. The coffee is really good and the other food excellent. Friendly helpful staff. Love it.

The hubby & I went there for brunch on new years day. Even though they were super busy, they still managed great service & delicious food. Would highly recommend

staff were lovely and attentive, coffee was great, eggs benedict so-so... toast was too hard to cut (and chew) and the really cold ham took the heat from the other ingredients, the dish was cold but the flavours were good... atmosphere was lovely

Waiting staff was good, coffee was great. However I had to wait 45 minutes for bacon and eggs on a day when the eatablishment was half full, which didnt make sense. However, food quality is good and it would be a nice place for breakfast or brunch if you dont mind waiting
Chrissy McCauley
Although not on the menu , I had a delicious vegan breakfast. Highly recommend it and thank you to the waitress Emily who was beyond helpful.
Matty Cox
Valentines Day lunch was amazing! Baked beans, bacon, french toast all cooked perfectly. Coffee was delicious and even catered for something off menu. Thank-you!

The food and service was superb. Thoroughly recommend this gorgeous cafe.

A place where you're made to feel like the most important person there, no matter how busy, all staff are impeccable with their friendly astute service. Food always spot on, coffee great. Treat yourself
Amy Elizabeth
Great customer service and fabulous coffee. No matter how busy the guys and girls are they always manage to have a quick chat.
Tina Kerr
Great good. Great staff. From the mainland and enjoyed breakie with girlfriends before flying back to Sydney.
Peter Mahon
Good food and good service. The two waitresses were excellent. Very positive experience .

May I say that this little cafe is amazing...we visited it with friends Sat arvo for a coffee and chat..and called back for take aways Sun morning before our trip home to Melbourne, the coffee is the best and the staff were lovely and friendly...we will be back Jane O'Reilly Melbourne

Reasonable breakfast and coffee. However, bacon and eggs on toast should not take 40min regardless of how busy a cafe is. Bit frustrating watching the staff eating, whilst customers have to wait. Too many wait staff, not enough chefs.

Of course we found this place through Zomato and they did not disappoint. Although a limited menu I opted to go rogue and ask for something off menu. Happily adapting to my request I eagerly awaited my lunch. It was amazing! I was concerned without the greens my request may have been unbalanced but it wasn’t. Not sure if any additional items were added to the Rosti but it was perfect. One of the best I have had! Combined with great customer service will definitely drop in every time I am in town.

Went there for breakfast after my husband recommended this place having been there about a year ago. We had the Eggs Benedict which was amazing, and the coffee is excellent. Really nice friendly service. Highly recommend.

So my first experience here I just grabbed a coffee and a muffin on the run – and both were excellent so I was excited to return for a proper breakfast. Ordered a Bennie, hollandaise on the side. Firstly, it took AGES to arrive, then came smothered in hollandaise. By now I didn’t have time for a remake so let that one pass – however hollandaise tasted suspiciously like it was commercially bought and not made onsite (aka it was not great), underneath I found quite hard / not well poached eggs and very thick, very cold slices of ham. Together I found it unpalatable and after a sporting go under the circumstances I gave up. Other half was equally underwhelmed with his selection so we decided if we returned, it would be coffee and baked goods to go only 🙁

The French toasts are very soft and go well with the cream, and the strawberries and blueberries sides are quite fresh. My friend have the Benedict eggs, sided with bacon and spinach, which are also of great taste. Love here and would come again.

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday<br/>Quick service lovely staff<br/>Got the mondello beans which were large white beans in tomato sauce on delicious sour dough and nice poached eggs<br/>Very bland tasting however<br/>Also got the French toast which came with a nice serving of strawberries cream and lemon curd but again very bland<br/>Their dirty chai was nice<br/>Portion sizes are large
Wandering Ella
Did not expect much from this place when I first stepped in, but I was glad to be proved wrong! I ordered the Marinated Halloumi which came alongside some spinach, harissa and toast. I really loved the freshness of all the components of the dish. The harissa was aromatic and the portobello was just bursting with flavour.

Both food and coffee were really good. Staff were lovely and the space was little and cozy. We wanted to share a plate and they kindly split our food in 2 separate plates.

Had breakfast here. Great coffee, friendly service, food was very good typical breakfast offerings (smashed advo with poached eggs for my partner, bacon and eggs for the fussy 12 year old and a delicious muffin for me). Sat outside, inside is small. Would visit again if I was in Launceston.
Petazab
Very small cafe but staff were very friendly and outside area out the front is nice. Coffee was delicious and eggs and bacon were fab. Pricing is a little more on the expensive side but it was worth the extra couple of dollars
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
THIS IS FOR A VEGAN PERSON the shop is non veg but will still look after you!!!!!!<br/><br/>I checked into my four to four boutique apartment at about 10 am on a Sunday afternoon and they said the room will be ready in 45 mins. So I decided I'll go grab breakfast, I walked to the corner and saw this really cute cafe. ( cafe Mondello)<br/><br/>I walked in and I asked the waiter near the counter if they had any vegan she said yes. So she took me over to the table that was the only table left at the time. Walked away grabbed me a bottle of water and said ( the chef said he is vegetarian he can make anything vegan for you!) so I said ok I'll leave it up to him surprise me. I also ordered a soy latte.<br/><br/>5-10 mins later she walks out with the plate full off food, it had mouth watering mushrooms it had home made bake beans and spinach and a avocado with hummus in it. On the side was a full of flavour sweet salsa! The vegan bread he had made was crunchy on the out side soft in the middle. It really blew me away! The soy latte was strong and so good! I had to order a second one! Polished off the whole big bottle of water the only thing that was left on my plate was one piece of bread because I was so full!<br/><br/>The staff are all friendly, polite the team works really well together, I ended up leaving a whole lot of coins for the waiters and called the chef over and said this is for you gave him a little tip and left! What a awesome experience from the moment I walked into the cafe! I can't wait to go back and I highly recommend his vegan breakfast. The only thing is I don't know if he works everyday but I'm sure if u ask if the vegetarian chef is on you will be in for a real treat

Coffee was the best in Launceston. food was tasty with a generous serving. Also prepared in good time so lunch wasn't chewed up waiting for my meal. Only downside was the menu was mainly breakfast choices.
Hao Tran
The dishes was cooked and executed well but there was nothing really that wowed me in flavours. It was a nice small cafe I enjoyed but not a place I would be dying to go back to.
Cory
The food is Awesome - direct quote from our 8 year old. We ordered the eggs and bacon with smashed avo, the smashed avo with a side of their beans and the poached pear with granola - half serve for the kidlet - great option. Everything was delish - poached eggs cooked to perfection, baked beans were some of the best I have had anywhere and the gluten free bread was 5star!!!! Staff were super friendly and while small the space is inviting and we would recommend to anyone - Hubby even gave it 5 out of 5 and he is tough to please. Thanks for brunch guys much appreciated

Great service, from friendly staff. The quality of the fantastic and fresh breakfast was brilliant. To top it off the coffees were great as well. We will be back!

Had breakfast this morning, lovely and fresh.<br/>The waitress was delightful.<br/>The food was excellent, very tasty and fresh.<br/>Eggs were cooked perfectly
Hello. Imnikki
Time slows down in Launceston. Everyone is so laid back and this shows, in a good way. You're not rush to order and the only downside is that food does take a bit longer than usual to arrive. However the more than gorgeous service and beautiful food makes up for the wait time. There's no fancy sounding or photogenic dish in sight but the taste, quality and simple beauty of all the ingredients mixed together creates a mouthwatering dish. Case in point - two simple dishes of eggs Atlantic and sardines on toast reached peak perfection due to the perfectly poached eggs, thick fluffy toast and fresh as smoked salmon. I usually don't finish all the toasts on my plate but I devoured all three slices this time. Just like the food, no latte arts to be found here. If only they didn't burnt the milk because the coffee had potential. I guess I shouldn't be complaining since I was happy stuffing my face with toasts.

This place was definitely nice, a very cosy spot that does get some very nice natural light<br/>Good service and decent coffee with a menu that contains all the usual suspects
SA
Absolutely delicious! A warm cosy environment, attentive staff, delicious food and coffee. A gorgeous little gem in Launceston. Try the homemade soup and the blondie!! I can't wait to come back.

Cute little cafe however the menu range was limited and items a bit more pricy than i would anticipate. Very small inside seating area means if you are unlucky you are stuck sitting outside- a problem on a cold winter morning, however the blankets provided were a nice touch. Coffee was run of the mill and quite pricey- 4.50 for a small is abnormal even in renowned Melbourne cafes. As for food, I ordered the smashed avo with poached eggs and dukkah. This was very tasty- the dukkah was delicious and the chutney provided was very nice. Only downside was the small portion for the price and our meals were not particularly quick to arrive (however when we stepped inside to pay and saw the very small size of the kitchen I could see why). Service was friendly though. <br/><br/>

Great coffee & freshly squeezed OJ. <br/>Eggs Benedict is perfect. <br/>Great atmosphere, quietly buzzing along & the waitresses are lovely & friendly.
Andrewrd1970
rightly highly rated cafe on Charles St. Very good food served out of a tiny kitchen, excellent coffee and faultless service. Go there. Accomodation out the back looks great too.

I was really excited for this cafe place, especially the good ratings on zomato. However, it was a big let down! Really disappointed with this cafe. Waited for exactly 1 hour for our two breakfast dishes to come! We came at similar timing to three other different groups and I'm pretty sure we ordered before some of them and they got their dishes within respectable time. When they were almost done with their meal, we were getting frustrated as we were so hungry. <br/>We prompted the waitress at the counter whether they had forgotten our meal, the chef said it was on its way, and even snapped back "do you still want it?" So rude.. After I said we waited for an hour already. <br/>Not even an apology, or even come to us and let us know that the food is on the way and apologize for the wait. <br/><br/>The food was average and pretty expensive. The whole experience really put us off and definitely will not be coming back.

Glad this place opened on a public holiday during our travel in Launceston. <br/>Coffee was great, seating indoor, but outdoor looks great with the beautiful weather. <br/>Had the salmon egg benedicts, nothing to complain, it was lovely. saw so many people having takeaway coffees.
FoodingAroundMelbourne
Really impressed by this cafe. I would consider it a 'sometimes' cafe as is quite expensive but it does deliver on taste, quality and service. The baked beans were fab as was the haloumi breakfast with an added poached egg. The coffee was Melbourne-esque in that it wasn't rubbish.

Fantastic cafe, so glad we stopped here! The staff are incredibly accommodating which is a nice change from most hospitality. The menu itself is great for breakfast, offering both sweet and savoury options. Eggs benedict, corn fritters, vanilla poached pears, French toast featuring lemon curd..they've got it all! We had the corn fritters with avocado and relish and added halmoui that was beautifully tender and melt in your mouth but crispy on the outside. The relish was nice and sweet and the fritters were abundant with fresh corn kernels. <br/>My friend had the avocado smashed toast with dukkha which was well balanced and generous servings of avo smash. <br/><br/>All of our coffees were great and the outdoor setting with European chairs and tables and umbrellas were reminiscent of a Parisian cafe.<br/>
Hi Distinction
What a great place for breakfast. Friendly staff, good coffee and great food. Best of all was the best crispy bacon in Australia. Lots of chefs can cook good eggs but very few can do good crispy bacon. This man is the Maestro. Thanks Zomato for bringing us here.
Ross Leotta
A variety of breakfast options as opposed to the usual fan fair got my appeal and it did t let me down. Had the grilled haloumi and it was very very good. Popular by many and I can see why! Will be back next time I am in town!
Bobba099
Great cafe for brekky! We had the homemade baked beans, and smashed avo both with poached eggs. Generous serves washed down with excellent coffee. Yummy 😊😊
Jess
Absolutely great spot for breakfast in Launceston. Prices are really reasonable and the portion sizes generous. Coffee is great, and super excited to see a Tassie cafe serving Di Bella beans! Service staff are super friendly and efficient. Would certainly recommend and return next time we're in Tassie!
Loz Arthur
Great place to escape the rain and enjoy a meal!! The marinated haloumi with added avocado was so yum!! Definitely recommend it to anyone passing by!!!!
Binula
We had the avocado smash and the marinated haloumi with some coffees and everything was excellent! The staff were also really nice and helpful - great experience overall!
Jon-Anthoney De Boer
Our breakfast was fantastic; excellent food, service, portion and nice coffees. The prices are good for the quality and size of the meals. We will be back.
Kim
We loved everything here. Fantastic food, fantastic service....and the coffee was to die for. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in town
Honey Gummy Bears
Wonderful! Really enjoyed the bruschetta. Thanks for the great lunch, coffee and for looking after my friend and I after she had travelled in from Burnie. A day well spent! :)
Simon
Nice ambience Simple, good .... Nice ambience<br/>Simple, good food<br/>Coffee was so so
Alison.oakes
Good coffee. Small but nicely decorated and warm. Staff pleasant and helpful. Good coffee which is always a bonus. I opted for Corn fritters which were superb and plentiful with bacon instead of salmon. A good experience.
Agylub
Great with real attention to quality. Eggs Hollandaise and a cappuccino. Perfectly done eggs, coffee at the right temp, lovely staff. How it should be done
Tony Tas
For breakfast it was just awesome. Waitress was extremely friendly, nice background music, and early on a Sat morning sitting at corner table with the rising sun beaming in glorious.<br/>The eggs Benedict with side of spinach and tomatoes with house made hollandaise spot on. <br/>Only thing for me was the double shot could have been stronger - but I do favour a very rich coffee so I only had one and went somewhere else (very contented) for a second :)
Pickin1314
Slow, average and expensive.. Cute and small place, not very busy but my coffee order was forgotten, then very slow to arrive. The food was even slower, and VERY expensive for what you get. Food wasn't terrible but nothing special. Soggy bread under the beans, very ordanary. The eggs were cooked perfectly but looked like two ping pong balls. Average presentation. Won't recommend to anyone.
Mr Bill
Quaint cafe with great service. Breakfast was delicious. Recommending the house prepared baked beans with poached eggs (nice and runny with dark yolks) and a very good coffee. <br/>Well done

Quality coffee. Probably the best coffee compared to aromas cafe, elaia
Tessalisa
Best cafe in town!!!. Great cafe with delicious food and coffee. The staff are lovely- cannot fault their service! We came every morning during our stay in Launceston and would definitely recommend to everyone. Thanks cafe Mondello!
Hendo
Great food and friendly staff. <br/>The French toast was excellent.
Pinoyjetsetter
Coffee was awesome as I expected, bread was fresh as they baked it themselves. The smoked salmon was beautiful.
Diana
Nice coffee and breakfast delightful. Friendly service and the baking of their own bread was a nice touch.
Tamara Birrell
We had coffee, fresh orange juice, eggs benedict and marinated haliumi. Every thing was splendid - great customer service and fresh tasting food. Great coffee.
William Oliver
Great food, slightly over priced. Try the poached pears!! Amazing.

A good way to start the day. Came to Cafe Mondello after reading reviews and glad we did. The service was great from the moment we walked in. Decent coffee and we ordered the eggs benedict and smashed avocado and we were both quite happy with our meals. One of my poached eggs was slightly over cooked, but that was the worst of it. Plenty of avocado and goodness yummy!
Matt Smith
The poached eggs on smashed avo, with dukkah, was described by my wife as "possibly best EVER!" & she'd know. The coffee was excellent too! Great place.
Angus J
Slow and expensive. Took 25 minutes to get 3 take away coffees! And they cost $5 (small strong flat whites)! Poor experience
Michelle143s
Good coffee not good food.. Good coffee. Tried the food (Sunday brunch) and it was not good. Eggs Benedict hard bread and minimal splash of sauce and what looked liked meat from grocery store deli (packaged sandwich meat). French toast not good. Not worth price. Stick to drinks when visiting.
Peter McNally
Good coffee. Nice location. Very slow but friendly service. Disappointing breakfast (Eggs Benedict). No wifi.
Coffeemeetscake
Best in Tassie. Oh where shall we begin with the praises? How about the fact that on our first visit we felt like welcomed regulars the service was so good. The food leaves us thinking about when we can visit next and this morning lead to us driving 100km off course to have breakie. SERIOUSLY!<br/><br/>We came to Launceston to see if we would like to live here. Mondellos made that a resounding YES!!!<br/>It will be tough to hop on the plane home tomorrow. <br/><br/>All round great service, food and coffee
Jacintadmurphy
Overpriced and mediocre. My partner and I arrived in Tasmania on Boxing Day for a four day trip to sample the well renowned fine produce and wine which we had so many times been told of.<br/><br/>Our first stop from Launceston airport was Cafe Mondello for breakfast and this was chosen based on it's rating from Urbanspoon and the fact that being Boxing Day we were limited for choice.<br/><br/>We waited fifteen minutes for a table - granted we had been warned there would be a wait - and this was honestly not a problem. A young lady took our coffee orders so we could at least have a coffee whilst we waited....these never arrived during our fifteen minute wait. I put this down to a lack of communication.<br/><br/>When a table finally vacated (and we had been told we would be the next to have a table) another girl proceeded to offer the table to another couple....another example of non existent staff communication. Luckily another table simultaneously vacated so we took the liberty to sit ourselves.<br/><br/>Once we finally received menus the waitress then admitted she may have forgotten to put our coffee order through so she scampered off to correct the error of her ways. Prior to doing this she had made mention numerous times of how "stressful and busy" it was on the said day. Well my response to this is: come to any cafe in Melbourne (or no doubt Sydney) and see how this is managed. This is not 'busy' this is 'normal' and if it stresses you out you obviously aren't an especially well trained individual.<br/><br/>After ordering the Smashed Avocado on toast we witnessed two customers walk away after having waited for 45 minutes for food which didn't arrive. Do I blame them? No. Firstly the communication from staff to customer again was poor and secondly, there was no food!<br/><br/>So our food and finally coffees arrived and I was sorely disappointed. I frequently order dishes the same or similar at some of Melbourne's best cafes (eg: East Elevation/Monsieur Truffe) and pay less for better quality of product and presentation. This was a well over toasted scrawny piece of bread, the avocado was browning, I hardly noticed any dukkah, the fetta seemed non existent and the alleged 'poached' eggs were in fact not poached but boiled to the point where I cut them up into piece like I would a hard boiled egg. Hmmm $19 for this?<br/><br/>In summery; I would never bother going to a cafe such as this again. The prices are much higher than what we pay in Melbourne where the quality of service, produce, presentation are undeniably all superior. <br/><br/>What a disappointing experience.
Harsha Manoor
The staff is very friendly and accommodative. But the food is ordinary. Something was wrong with the bread. It was very bitter and floury. Apparently they make their own bread. Beverages are very good. Coffee is amazing. Would recommend coffee not food.
Dom Gold
Excellent coffe, friendly staff and good service. <br/>Need more seating!
Km
At first glance, a little pricey given the size of the meal. But very tasty breakfast and friendly staff-would definitely come back :)
Kaylene Jolly
To quote Jim Cary in Liar Liar<br/>"I've had better"<br/>Toast needed a jack hammer to get through and if you're making Hollandaise sauce every day of your working career, perhaps try a different recipe. Service was good though. Won't be back again.
Bex Mutch
Went in for breakfast on a sunny Tuesday morning. Lots of people popping in and out for take away coffee and a few enjoying breakfast. The service was great and the coffee even better. We had the vanilla poached pears with honey but granola and the bacon and eggs. Both of which were delicious. If we weren't just passing through we would go back.
FeeBee
Super expensive for not much substance. They really only offer poached eggs in a bowl, with or without your condiments (bacon, salmon, hollandaise, etc...). There isn't any real substance to the breakfast menu. The coffee wasn't all that great either. <br/><br/>All up, I felt ripped off and still hungry.
Debtelf
Eggs with salmon and fresh orange juice. Im from new Zealand and wish we had a cafe like this in my home town. Cafe mondello is a busy wee happening place. Eggs were cooked perfectly and orange juice was fresh and tasty. The staff were friendly and even charged my iPad. Recommend cafe mondello to all food lovers.
Dan Bell
Awesome.. This cafe never lets you down. The food leaves other cafes in launceston for dead. The service is great at cafe mondello and great to see all staff with a smile. Keep up the good work . Excellent. I will be back again with my girlfriend.
Nicolas Kirby
Mondello is simply the best cafe we've found in Launceston. It is small, but uncompromising in respect of the quality of its food, coffee and service. <br/><br/>I was flabbergasted to read Adam Casey's negative review. It's true that it is not cheap (our brekky this morning was $55 for two), this is one care of getting what you pay for.
Tihara
Magnific More Mondello!!. Urban Spoon rated it a high score in Launceston so had to check it! The place was so cute! Not many tables but scored a table outside. My friend was allergic to eggs so asked if there was something else they could have so the chef made up a cute little toastie on great bread so it was good for both of us! I enjoyed Eggs Benedict... first time I have ever had it... and won't be the last now! The minute I uploaded photos people were asking me where I was.. Cafe Mondello the food is beautiful the coffee is great and with the fresh air in a trendy part of Launceston you just have to visit :)
Adam Casey
This is an excellent example of a country cafe that tries to improve its image purely by raising its prices. The breakfasts are of limited quality and limited range, mostly involving the usual variations of eggs benedict, which at $17 is overpriced for its size and quality. <br/>Launceston can do better, and people should expect better.
Susan Butler
Nice!. Lovely spot, very pleasant and friendly service. Breakfast was nice, though nothing extraordinary. We actually ate here two days in a row, as it was the only cafe open when we got there early the second morning. <br/><br/>I haven't given it a thumbs up or thumbs down. If I had to give one or the other, I'd go a thumbs up. Try it if you're in the area. You could do far worse.
Alana Huebner
Nice breakfast in a beautiful setting, especially if you can get a seat out the front. Coffee is decent but nothing special.
Julia Fort
Delicious! Great food, great service and they cater for gluten free. Very good experience, number one breakfast place in launceston.
Chris
As one of the few places open on new years day this place was packed, so no surprise the staff were super busy. But when I stopped in for coffee they were still surprisingly happy and jovial. The coffee was quite good so my wife and I went back for breakfast. Good coffee and the eggs were great! Worth a trip for breakfast and I'd go back again.
Lauren
Disappointing. Looked lovely from the outside, and quite busy considering it was a public holiday. But the food was disappointing - I shared the dip platter with two others - and there were only 6 pieces of very small bread with two enormous servings of the dip... The dips were nice though, as was the coffee! The service was definitely not great - hardly any at all and the staff seemed to care little that we existed.
Olivia Keliher
Really good. Very good coffee, breakfast was tasty. Mushrooms recommended. Busy little place. Worth the visit.
Edwin Soetiono
Good food, good coffee, great and friendly service!! Would come back again when we r next @ Launceston!!
Emmanuel
Would have to be Launceston's best coffee. Lunch menu is small, but what you get is beautiful! Good prices too
Brian
My first review ever. Been looking for a breakfast place when I come to Launceston and at last I found one. <br/>My favorite is eggs Benedict with crispy bacon and a good hot Latte. <br/>Both done to perfection, good hot coffee and a delightful house made holandaise. I will be back.
Nick Voon
Good coffee and yummy eggs Benedict! Service was good too! Recommended for a nice brunch on Sunday arvo!
Uncle Denny
Good, fast service. Solid coffee with bonsoy for the soy drinkers. Nice breakfast, probably needed more seasoning for my taste though. Menu is small but well done and reasonably priced. I would come back if in launceston again..
The Dude Enjoys Food
Good service breakfast needs to be a little better
Emily
Was disappointed on the food, i had ordered egg benedict which was not impressive at all (i can even make ur better). The staffs were good but think they lack of hands and made the job so slow. However I have to say the coffee is good!
Blondie
Came here one afternoon and coffee was horrible. Decided to give it another chance because of reviews. Came for breakfast the next day and coffee was descent and breakfast yummy and good price!<br/>Very happy 2nd time around.

Breakfast in the Sun. Stopped for a leisurely breakfast in the sun on outdoor table best creamy scrambled eggs & sourdough I've had in a long time Charles St - a lovely leafy street favourite part of Launcestonin which to eat a few doors up u can stock up on fresh fruit for the day. Well worth a visit. Even though I din't drink coffee lots of people were coming and going with their cup of brew

Great Coffee & Service. Cafe Mondello is new, modern, comfortable and attractive. Outside at street level Al Fresco with umbrellas. The menu reflects the newness of the Cafe, with an attractive, well prepared, nicely presented range of breakfast brunch options. The coffee is Di Bella. We enjoyed a very well made coffee and fresh made orange cake and a florentine, in fact it was so appetising we had a repeat. This cafe has only been opened five months, and is already popular.
Whitt Jago
We ate and drank until our hearts were content and waved goodbye to Cafe Mondello, vowing to be back in no time at all.<br/>Locals, non locals, tourists, everybody, go try it out. You wont be left disappointed.<br/>Much love
DAMMIT JANET I LOVE FOOD
Good solid breakfast fare can be found at this comfortable little cafe. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great place to drop by before you start your day...

Brad's eggs benedict also looked disgustingly delicious, I mean look, those eggs are just drowning in that gorgeously glossy hollandaise. It makes the mouth water!
