Lovely place right on the water. Good sized menu - not too many items, just enough for the kitchen to be good at each dish and enough variety for a party of fussy eaters. All our dishes were extremely tasty and well proportioned. Pricepoint about right, maybe $1 or $2 per dish more than you'd expect, but meh. Would definitely go back when in Launceston.
Special mention to our waitress 'Alyssa' - amazingly friendly, appropriately attentive and the sort of person you'd want working for your business and dealing with your customers.
We arrived on a Tuesday night with no reservation and they were quite busy so didn’t have a table for two available straight away. They were very accommodating and after a short wait a table was available for us. We had the Salt & Pepper Calamari for starters, quite tasty, then the Meat with Heat Pizza which hubby was particularly fond of. Nice experience.
Great food and great service! We arrived around 14:30 which was 5 minutes before the end of their lunch menu but the friendly staff still gave us the opportunity to order the delicious Chicken Risotto! The food did not disappoint!
The atmosphere was nice too. Ideal spot to just sit and relax.
Date Visited: Since 2015 - Newest: 15/12/2018
Located @ the Seaport Launceston.
I have visited this restaurant in the past with my wife & found it a nice fine dinning style restaurant by the water & enjoyed but not memorable.
I visited again in December of 2018 for my brother's birthday & quiet enjoyed this visit. I believe new management has taking over since my last visits.
Staff were very welcoming as we arrived but I noticed the restaurant was still a little small like I remember but a great/large outside dining area.
We arrived as a party of 5 & decided to sit outside even though it was a showery day but the Leeve Food co. has great out door seating. Advised the staff we would like to sit outside & they were happy to comply & quickly wiped off a wet table for us.
Staff member was super prompt to help & serve us with menu's & drinks order.
*PERSONAL NOTE* I like good serving from restaurants I visit & this establishment was top notch from the first minute.
Ok down to the food side of things:
Now as you have probley read in my many reviews I am a pizza man & that's exactly what I was ordering.
My pizza of choice was:
South Bank Pizza: Salami, Bacon, Olives, Red cap, Onion & Pineapple - $22 L. (pic #4)
Full of flavour as in ingredients offered, base was soft, sauce & cheese could have been more & crust average but still soft.
Another pizza's ordered were:
Marinara: Prawns, Scallops, Calamari & Baby octopus & Tomato - $24 L. (pic #2)
Meat With Heat: (Spicy) Chicken, Chorizo, Eye fillet, Bacon, Salami & Jalapenos with Levee BBQ sauce - $23.5 L. (pic #1)
My brother's partner ordered:
Calamari Salad: Salt & Pepper Calamari, Pumpkin, Bocconcini, Cucumber, Onions, Tomato & Aioli - $25.5. (pic #3)
I tried the MWH pizza it was good & his partners Calamari salad look first class in cooked & presentation.
All in all it was fun dinning on a Saturday afternoon, restaurant was busy but no long wait time for food. Order came with a huge serving of chips/fries with were cooked perfectly & staff really excellently serviced us with smiles like they really liked their jobs. Management seems to relish the business they manage. Thankyou staff I enjoyed your service :)
If your a older couple visiting Tasmania or live here & looking for a great place to eat/dine this place is perfect for the food/wine & views but if you are a couple (that has kids & want a nice night out) it is perfect for a nice night out as well. I have been with my family & just with my wife & all times has been great.
BTW beers prices not too pricey.
Don't let the prices on their website make you think its too $$$ because they produce great food its worth it.
REALLY hope this review helped some one :)

Really love the foods here ! I ordered mussel pasta, steak, salmon, calamari salad, and the mushroom pizza. Really worth to try when you travel to Tasmania. For the mussel pasta, they gave generous mussels and super fresh. Also for the pizza was freshly served ! Will come back to this place if I travel back to Tasmania 😁
Nice little and unpretentious waterfront restaurant with friendly staff. I ordered the seared skin salmon and was not disappointed. The skin was salty and crunchy whilst the flesh was well cooked. I found the accompanying hard boil egg weird but it went down well with the rest of the toppings. Recommended.
Beautiful family dining experience by the water with very friendly service, nothing was too hard for this team. Stunning views by the water as an added bonus.
SERVICE: 4/5
Very attentive service which was also efficient - much appreciated when you have two young children with you. Meals came out promptly and in the right order. They also had a few things to keep the kids entertained while mum & dad scoff their food down 😊
FOOD: 4/5
It was a welcome surprise how good the food was. I had the squid ink seafood risotto with soft shell crab and it was all kinds of delicious! There was a generous serving of seafood and the crab was cooked perfectly and seasoned well.
Hubby had the chicken pizza and again, it was deeeeelish! Kids tucked into it too and I stole a slice to have with the risotto. Oh and we shared a dozen natural oysters...yep, greedy guts with no regrets!
The ice cream we had was also the perfect finish. Kids didnt finish it so I got to try both strawberry and chocolate...outstanding.
We left with full bellies and had a stroll along the boardwalk peeping at the boats. It was a fabulous evening with the family.
DECOR & AMBIENCE: 4/5
Warm and inviting atmosphere with plenty of seating. We opted for the booths along the wall and that was the perfect little space for our family to enjoy our meal and not disturb anyone. Nice pop music playing in the background to add to the atmosphere without overpowering conversations.
KID FRIENDLY: Yes! Family booths, colouring in sheets and small toys can be provided along with a very popular ice-cream/gelato fridge.
Fantastic food, great service and a nice selection of drinks. All this and a great location at Seaport. I couldn't ask for a better evening meal.
had a great meal here that was paired with a nice wine. the steak was perfectly cooked. the pepper sauce was great, with a great kick. the vegies were overcooked for my tastes but the great service here was what rated highly.
Had dinner here with a group of six. Meals were very good and the atmosphere was great. Service was a bit slow at times but otherwise okay and friendly. Kid friendly.
Excellent location, food and service. The staff were very professional. Recommended for a quick drink or bigger meal where you can just drop in and have a nice view while there.
This place was surprisingly good. We ordered the pepperoni pizza, mussel spaghettini, natural oysters and finished our meal off with chocolate cake and latte. All whilst enjoying the beautiful sunset on the deck.
The pizza had a nice thin base cooked well throughout. A pizza with no soggy centre is good for us. The spaghettini...wow! Fresh pipi and mussels coated with its buttery juices on pasta cooked to al dente. Oysters....yum. The only disappointing thing was the chocolate cake. It was dry and you could tel it's been sitting in the fridge for a while.
Such a great view to look out at. Have the best salted caramel cheesecake ever!! And has an interesting piece of history to look at with the flood markings on the wall.
Popped in here for lunch after a day of walking around Launceston and seeing the sights. I had a hankering for a burger and this place was one of the only ones I found.
A great location by the water, with really nice outdoor seating. Had the mushroom pizza for entree, which was delicious. Creamy garlic mushrooms and cheese - but they do an amazing base, which is always hard to find. The burger I had was fantastic, hand made patties with obvious vegetables inside (always a winner). Chips with 2 sauces is always a bonus. Service was really good, food came out fast and I'd definitely go back if I was in town again.
Service - Excellent - young team but all friendly and did a great job
Food - really yummy - was cautious but it seemed all the reviews for all restaurants in Launceston were loved it or hated it - so took a punt and glad we did. Husband had eye fillet and was cooked perfectly. I had mussel spaghetti and was full of really fresh mussels, pasta was aldente and sauce was perfect balance with a hint of chili. Daughter had calamari and it was super fresh too.
This is why we only read most recent reviews - maybe they have changed owners, staff or chef but would recommend definitely.
Visited Levee Food Co last night with my wife. Steaks were excellent and service pleasant and prompt. The meals came out in good time, but it was not too busy. We would return.
It is New Years Eve 2017. Eleven of us had a booking at the Levee Food Company Launceston down at the wharf. On arrival we were enthusiastically welcomed and seated in a comfortable modern open plan restaurant, with views across the wharf of boats that were moored, people walking across the decking. This was not a fixed menu, New Years Eve special. We had the choice of a full varied menu from, appetisers, entree, mains through to desserts, accompanied with an excellent wine list. Even though the restaurant was maxed out, we found all our orders were well presented, with out delay and found the service was excellent. Outside there was life music and just along the wharf a fireworks display at 9.30pm & Midnight. What a fantastic evening as we celebrated and danced to the music and watched the fire works. We will probably book again for next year as a repeat, an excellent night out.
Wow! Please ignore all the negative reviews below - not sure if the restaurant has changed - or if people are just too stuffy sometimes. My partner and I came on the Sunday night after the AFL in Launceston - after reading the reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. What we got was delicious, wholesome food! We shared the starter Garlic Pizza - delicious & fresh. We then had the Mussel Spagettini & the Twice cooked duck with Pea & Prosciutto Risotto. Both meals were delicious. Generous serving, full of flavour & well presented. Staff were friendly and attentive.
I don't know. Maybe it was a quiet night. Not sure about the bad reviews. Service was excellent! My steak was spot-on. My wife enjoyed her seafood red curry and the little monster's pizza was tasty. Not bad for a casual place that offers a pretty broad ranging menu.
Gave us a chance. After being turned back by another restaurant who was too busy to serve us we came next door to Levee. We had the Garlic Pizza, Chicken & Basil Pasta and Chilli Burger and ice cream for Dessert. Besides ordering too much we were quite happy with both the service and our meals.
It's our "go to" place with our kids. Always keen to fit us in with last minute bookings, food and drinks arrive promptly. After numerous visits we know what's good to order (don't order salmon linguine), kids love the children's steak and the ice cream selection for dessert. Perfect for a family meal.
Very good service although it wasn't a busy night. Food was great! Definitely will head back!
Fantastic food brilliant service. My husband even tipped stating best steak he has had in tassie so far. My red curry was delightful also. Serving was huge ! All in all fabulous meal.
Dog friendly.
After a pleasant walk on the boardwalk we stopped for a lovely experience in February for dinner at Levee Food Co. We chose this restaurant as we had a dog with us and needed somewhere outside that was open to allowing her to sit with us.
The meals were straightforward, filling and satisfying. One of our number was a vegetarian and she found a pizza that she enjoyed. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had a burger and chips and found the chips in particular quite nice. Well cooked with the right amount of crunch.
Recently flew down to Launceston from Brisbane and made a point of dining at Levee Food as I had read great reviews about this restaurant. We weren't disappointed. The meal I had consisting of crumbed Tasmanian scallops and crispy skin Salmon were cooked to perfection. Customer service was excellent, very friendly staff always seeing to your needs. We were so impressed we went back two days later, this time for the best pizza in town.
See you next time we're in Launceston, worth 5 stars if not more.
I was here for dinner with a large group of people. At first the waiter's were quick, however towards the end of the night it was hard to get their attention for more drinks. The food itself was decent, however in my dish there were too many overwhelming flavours. Overall still a good night.
Super nice restaurant and over the top customer service. Loved the fish and the grilled chicken tikka. Highly recommend
Update: Back again after 2 years (on holidays)... Customer service is still 5 star. Our waiter's service was the best I have ever experienced, from checking in on us to the language he used, it showed class. It showed he enjoyed his job. Having worked in customer service myself I cannot fault the way he served us. The food was great, the only let down was the steak, it was a bit on the fatty side, but apart from that I will definitely be coming back when we visit Tasmania again. Anyone after a good meal with expert service should visit this place.
(Old Review) Great dinner. Amazing view and food. Wait staff very friendly and always on point with 5 star customer service. Could not fault this place and can recommend to anyone.
The Caesar salad is so divine loved everybit of it
Plus the iced coffee with whipped cream was so nice too , such amazing hospitality too , 5/5 stars for me
This is absolutely the BEST fish and chips I had so far. The fish was full of flavour and not overpowered by the batter. It tasted very refreshing. Would definitely recommend to have a try! Also ordered the calamari salad which was pretty good too.

I have been there twice. It is lovely. The food is great. I ordered linguini at lunchtime, and my friends; hamburger. One of my friend did not like the Caesar Salad. At night weeks later, I had pizza, beer and my friends had oysters. Everything was lovely. You have to order drinks at the counter if you are having a party. Great service. The view they have to the river is fabulous. The food is not cheap, but not that expensive either. I definitely would come back again.
