Italian family owned and run business with prompt and friendly staff. Almost all food is prepared fresh to order. Gluten free pizza bases available and some pasta options. The house special pizza is gluten free and FODMAP friendly!!! ...oh and delicious. Catered well to my 8 and 5 year olds tastes and my dietary restrictions. First time in 4 years I've been able to eat at a resteraunt!
Walked in off the street . Table for 4 . Seated straight away . Our waitresses were extremely friendy and very efficient . We ordered pizza . I reccomend only order a small unless you are starving as they are made so dam good that a small can satisfy any appetite . We are from Melbourne and nothing comes even close to La Cantina
Our second visit in two weeks. Possibly the best pasta we have eaten for a long time. I had the ravioli bianca and my love had the lasagne. Fantastic! Thankyou again�
I had the spaghetti marinara.Yummy plenty of sauce and such a huge serving. My husband had the carbonara and he loved it too. The garlic pizza was so nice. Thin and so fresh. Customer service is one of the best. Thank you guys.

We were a walk in with a party of 8, and we were accommodated with a smile. The food was great and the wait was minimal. Staff had us sorted at all times.

Delicious and massive serves of pasta. Initially would've rated this restaurant much higher but completely let down by poor service. The food was quick to come out but service otherwise was extremely slow with wait staff talking on and using their personal phones throughout the whole night
I ordered the fettuccine gamberi and it was probably the best pasta I've ever had in Australia. The homemade noodles were cooked perfectly, the portion very generous and the sauce just amazing - rich and creamy without being sickening. The garlic pizza entree was also delicious, with a perfect base and well seasoned.
Service was mixed - food came out quickly which is always a plus, however the waitresses were slow and not very friendly. First they brought out glasses, but no water until we asked. Then they promptly forgot that we asked for the dessert menu and had to be reminded again, all the while standing at the bar chatting. One girl was even on her phone the whole time, and didn't even put it down when we were paying the bill which is highly unprofessional.
Overall the food is too good not to come again, I just hope their front of house staff pick up their game a bit.
Great food and hospitality, fast service, nice atmosphere. Seamlessly catered for a large group with very short notice, they went above and beyond. Well worth a visit.
on the other hand this is lovely, worth a visit - make a booking on the weekend as it's very busy and although old fashioned in it's décor the food is great, service is friendly and price excellent.
i was in Launceston recently for my sisters wedding and took my fiance and brother out for dinner here. WOW is the 1st word that comes to mind. i first ordered the garlic pizza for the entree and was so surprised that i nearly ordered another 1. both me and my fiance ordered pasta entree size and we still couldn't finish them but i had a break and destroyed both as you don't leave food that good on a plate ever :) my little brother didn't get the memo and ordered the seafood pasta as a main and i had to eat some of that too. the place has a very nice atmosphere and light music playing which i love. i will return to tasmania and go back just for the garlic pizza. it had cheese, garlic and just the right amount of olive oil on a beatiful base. just made my trip from Melbourne even better. you have to go there for yourself
Authentic and Delicious. We followed our noses to this little place in George Street and it did not disappoint! We had the veal special which was listed on the board and it was reasonably priced and delicious. The chef was able to suggest a local wine which complemented the meal to perfection. Would return if we go to Launceston again! Loved it.
Garlic bread was superb. Homemade pasta delicious. We'll be back
