At first, I was a bit sceptical because of the location. But the genuine, friendly service and food sang this little restaurant praises! Their Lunch and Dinner menu has clear Malay roots with Nasi Lamak and Sambal Crispy Fish (picture). At first taste, we were transported back to Pulau Langkawi with visions of driving around on a two person scooter touring local eateries. Their Burgers and Ramen also looks well composed and a must try. It was brought to our attention that the breakfast menu is an "adventurous" must try too. The prices are very reasonable and unpretentious. To add, a kids meal with a drink, a fruit and a toy for $10 was too attractive to pass by for our little one. I think we've just found a new "local" haunt.
$8 Parmas on Wednesdays that are of high quality? Absolutely insane deals here at Cheeky Chewies.
The staff here are really friendly, and the food here is great. It offers bubble tea, coffee, and an array of foods but what caught our eye was this inane $8 Parma and chips (or salad) deal. The Parma itself was insanely good for the price, much better than traditional $20+ Parmas. The chips are shoestring, similar to Macca's, making for a very value conscious and delicious lunch.
Highly recommend trying this place out, notably so on a Wednesday.

Came here for coffee, we were offered a seat quickly but it took a while to order. Coffee was pretty good though the ratio of froth and liquid was not quite right for a cappuccino. Ambience was nice, and definitely aimed for the food blogger and families (it had an indoor playground)
We came here the second time after a long while since the first visit. The menu has changed, so has the owner we think. Service was good and attentive and really friendly.
We wanted to order Thai Yum yum eggs and mushroom salads, but saw the table next to us having nasi lemak burger and it looked so yummy I couldn't resist getting another nasi lemak burger.
In the end, I had 2 main dishes - both the thai yum yum eggs and nasi lemak, both were excellent and really full of flavours. Mushroom salad was also decent but not much option there for vegetarians / vegans.
We came back again after a while because it was so good. This time we had the tom yum and breakfast board. Both were pretty delicious again.
Will come back soon if we're ever in the neighbourhood again and craving for some delicious fusion style breakfast.
Visited this cafe for brunch and I loved the nasi lemak. It had just the right flavours and the portion was good. Love how this cafe does a bunch with a twist.
A Gem in the western suburb! Lovely customer service and food was amazing. Had the I’m A Mamak Freak and Cheeky went to Japan, both were absolutely beautiful and delicious. The cafe also has a tiny play area for toddlers, how cute!

For a local cafe, the food was amazing! We ordered the Sweet Chilli Chicken Burger, Sea Burger, Chic-kee Burger and the 'Cheeky Went to Japan'. The chicken was so crispy it tasted almost like tempura chicken. The Okonomiyaki or what they call 'Cheeky Went to Japan' was delicious and filling. The deconstructed latte was very cool for Snapchat! We will be back.
Never have I been so excited to write a review. This place is so cool, the menu offerings are so weird and wonderful.
Ambience is typical Cafe style, nice new decor and on trend. Obviously kid friendly as there is a cool young kids play zone. The menu has all the good stuff, from all over. On our table we had a coffee (nicely made) a masaman beef and roti, big breakfast with poached eggs, mushrooms and has brown (huge breakfast) all cooked spot on. The beef was very very well cooked and full of flavor. Oh, and done French fries.
There were so many other things on the menu I wanted to order, waffles, Japanese pancakes.
absolutely will be back. This is an absolute gem in Laverton. Let's hope this stays like this.

Not very often you see a mini playground in a cafe in Melbourne- these guys have one!
Open till late it’s a great spot to take the kids, meet up with friends or dine alone. The staff are so welcoming and go above and beyond to make sure their customers have everything they need.
The price point is fantastic and food is on point. It’s quite a large menu so there is something for everyone. I loved the breakfast board it’s bigger than most and the highlight was the mango chia pudding-so good.
They have a range of little cakes and cookies too.

Cheeky cafe located close to Aircraft st, looks comfy and clean .. They even have an adjoining playground great for little ones.
Had a dirty chai and mamak freak for my breakfast. The dirty chai was great, perfect combination of coffee and chai, no sugar needed.
The nasi lemak was very fragrant, sambal tasted great, the chicken rendang was nice only it could be cooked a little longer. It was a bit too firm for my liking, not falling off the bone, but the taste was there, generous portion, and great presentation.
I will definitely be back for more!

My second time being here and both experiences were great. Everything has a lot of flavour, especially the chicken sayay and chilli wontons. Massive shout out to the staff who made mothers day dinner a great one! The service was great and staff were friendly. I'll be coming back!

Great service, be honest this was the greatest service experience in the small Cafe.
The foods are various and yummy, bright environment and there is a small playground for child.
The only thing need to be improved is the meal serving time, it was way too slow that we probably took 40mins to get our first meal in the non-peak time, if you are not in rush is a good place though.
Overall is good.
Wow! First time I am trying this place. Their lunch, tasted delish. I will go again. Want to try all the food in their menu. Breakfast - here I come.

Great hospitality! Menu had a Variety of Asian meals which suited the variety of palates we have in our family. Nice summery atmosphere with light colours and clean light deco. A kid-friendly restaurant as they have an area just for children to play. The food was outstanding and very well presented. Very polite and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

I'm in two minds about this place. This place is fantastic for families with young children as there is an enclosed play area for kids, which blocks out the noise.
The nasi lemak is fantastic. A good place to satisfy your craving.
The Laksa is interesting, as the broth is poured from a tea pot, however it is not my favourite. I'm also told that the coffee is good, but as again, I didn't order it as it was dinner time when we went, and I am a light sleeper after drinking coffee.
This is a great little restaurant with delicious food! I bought the $39 Groupon voucher and the value for money was fantastic. The service was really excellent and the food delicious. I had the seafood laksa and was told the paste is made from scratch from the kitchen! Was fantastic. My husband had the beef curry - equally delicious. Dessert and entrees too!! Had a lovely night. The west finally got a good Malaysian restaurant that has great flavours and great service. I’m not a huge fan of Malaysian food as such but enjoy Laksas but what often puts me off is the strong smells of a typical Malaysian place. Cheeky chewy is an exception in that regard, it’s neat and clean.. has a very cool vibe to it and the food tastes so fresh. The Laksa comes in a pot with a small candle to keep warm which was a great touch. Definitely recommend this place.
This place is a gem, the environment, the food, everything. The staff is very sweet and welcoming. The food is great and they also have a little play area for the kids which is awesome. They have pretty decent coffee as well and a good selection of cakes and pastries. Love this place 👍
Been wanting to try this place for a while, its outside signage is really eye catching. The menu is quiet an interesting one but absolutely loved the food. My friend and I shared our plates so we got to try more and definitely had an amazing food experience. Service was a little slow at times but my friend and I hardly noticed as we were chatting away. Very nicely presented restaurant with a small play area for young kids. Will definitely come back to try something else on that amazing menu.
Strongly recommend by friends that this Malaysian fusion Cafe was one of the best in Western suburbs. It didn't let me down. Service was fantastic and friendly. We were well looked after. Love the names of the dishes on the menu, and the descriptions made my mouth watering.
We ordered the Thai Pork Skewer, Golden Tofu, Cheeky Went To Japan and Lost in Bangkok. The Thai Pork Skewer was great flavoured, and went well with the chilli oil. The golden tofu was a bit bland although came with avaccado dipping sauce. Went to Japan was great, crispy and nicely present. Dressing well with Japanese sauce that used to cook Okonomiyaki. Yum, this was definitely good twist. The Lost in Bangkok was an omelette, a simple kick on Thai taste with some coriander, basil, cabbage and fish sauce. Delicious! Coffee was great too, love the macha latte and dirty Chai.
Was a great meal and enjoyable experience. Definitely a great place to go.
Haven't tried their "western" styled food, but fantastic Asian food and coffee. I'm usually very skeptical about cafes who serve too many varieties of food, but the food is good. we've been to dinner a number of times, and I love the buttermilk popcorn chicken with rice! My go-to staple for lunch and dinner is the nasi lemak "I'm a Mamak freak". Yums!

We ordered the chilli watton. It was the best iv had in the west,very well cooked and flavours wrre devine. I ordered the seafood laksa and it was the most authentic laksa iv had. It was not watery like your every other laksa you may had. It was full of flavours. My partner had the nasi lamak. The food was delicious and their customer service was also. The staff there are friendly . I would rate this place 10/10

I really enjoyed the wholesome and hearty breakfast available at Cheeky Chewies! Highly recommend the Japanese Pancake Stack (Cheeky Goes to Japan)... one of the best versions of Okonomiyaki I have had, layered with sauce and topped with a poached egg, for a fantastic price and so filling!
Lovely warm space, helpful and friendly staff. The food was brilliant - I had Cheekies Stew with a Turkish roll and I loved it. The little one enjoyed his cheese toasted sandwich. Food is probably priced a little higher than I'd normally pay, but I think when you consider the service and the play area they provide, its worth it.
Probably my only bugbear was we had to wait for a high chair. Cafe was busy but by no means full. Given it's such a child friendly venue, I would suggest more high chairs should be available.
You can tell this place is a hidden gem in the west from the fragrance of the nasi lemak as it hit your table. Each mouthful of the "kuah" on the curry chicken feels like an explosion of a complex mixture of spices & flavour in your mouth. The chicken itself is perfectly marinated right to the bone.
The Massaman beef curry is another wonder. Rich flavoursome gravy with beef that melts in your mouth. Not spicy at all that even my 6 year old son could enjoy it.
There are laksa and there are Laksa. This one is LAKSA. Big on spices & flavour.
Thoroughly enjoyable meal. Service was great. The only complaint, but only a small one, is that the tables are not large enough to comfortably hold the many dishes we had.
Was pretty happy overall the set up is nice pretty 'trendy' a bit too hipster for my like but had dinner here on Friday and the food was good but I'd say there is better in the area. The service was friendly and they coffee was nice. The place is reseaonabily priced.
It seems Melbourne's hip cafe culture has expanded a little further yet out here on the westside, with this vibrant gem of a cafe popping up in one of the most unexpected of places.

The Outer-West just scored itself a cool new evening eatery and Eat West couldn’t be more pleased – we love Cheeky Chewies!. Cheeky Chewies has been a hugely successful venture since opening it’s doors in January. The menu brings something new and interesting to the area with it’s eclectic mix of Asian dishes and traditional Aussie favourites, but what has really made Cheekies stand out for us is the community spirit and huge investment in engaging with their customers that the team has made.
Cheeky Chewies is of two worlds. One side appeals to the Aussie larrikin: chicken wings, burgers and parmas. The other side, journeys to the east. Husband and wife team, open a cafe where east meets West. Funnily enough, Cheeky Chewies’ choice of location is far West – in Laverton, where mentions of Nasi Lemak might draw puzzled looks. Admittedly, the only time I’ve visited Laverton was to eat jam doughnuts and to fix a broken phone screen at a questionable ‘electronics’ stall. A quick scan of the unassuming street – draws my eye to a singular Thai restaurant and funnily enough a Korean grocer? No doubt...
Only 3 months old and this café is bustling with locals and foodies excited to try their delicious and interesting brunch options. The café brims with charm with a cohesive and modern design and splashes of bright colours and greenery. Perfect for families, the café also has a mini indoor play are for children.
Had the curry laksa and rate it 5/5 !!! Very authentic food and wasn't disappointing at all. The Thai salad, crispy chicken wing and sticky wonton is a must try dishes.
Fried Chicken wings are awesome! Curry laksa is Better than laksa king. Well that's my opinion =) overall experience is excellent as staff were friendly too. Do try if your up for some mixture of Asian food.

This is an South Asian fusion cafe in this area. The mushroom fried is really good. The batter is thin as tempura and super crunchy outside, moist inside. The rendang ramen is very creative, chicken rendang is very soft and tasty. Concept is good, but the ramen soup taste like instant noodles, ramen also not cooked well, some ramen still stick together, not pleasant to enjoy at a cafe. The chicken rendeng lasi lemak is OK. Rice have coconut flavor, but rice also have burnt flavor too. Overall, food is so so. Not high quality authentic version. Price is above average, but some menu items are very creative. Staff are friendly. Few sofa seats in side, also have outdoor area. May come back for western crusine instead.
