Opposite the Luna Theatre on Oxford Street, sits Amani Bar and Kitchen. We visited after work and it was already filling with Friday night socializers. A combination of high tables, a few lower chairs and tables, and a long bar, there’s a perch to suit everybody, and the music is retro funky, perfect for setting a carefree mood.
Nice quite place, the lady at the bar made me a delicious mocktail... but I found the food expensive as the serves are very small. Good place to relax and have a drink!
Love this place! Have been here several times and I'm never disappointed. The food is interesting and enjoyable and the cocktails are always on point! I'm surprised this place doesn't have as much business as the other restaurants on Oxford Street because it is good quality and decently priced for the experience.
The menu is small but what we had on there was delicious and for a bar, its the perfect size. There was only 3 or so vego options, so the chef happily whipped up a special for our vegetarian diner.
The staff are very friendly and knowledge which added to the fun vibe.
Next minute you are dancing the night away!
My first impression was - well this is a little pretentious but as the night rolls on the drinks start flowing and the DJ enters - all pretence is lost!!! I had a great time getting my 80s on. The food was exciting and the wine list excellent.
Came with a group of four on a weekday night. Food is nice overall but the food service is a bit slow considering we were the only table at that time...
Top notch service. 5 star ambience and decor. Especially love the fireplace, which we managed to score a cosy table beside. Decided to pop a cherry by ordering chicken - no regrets! Good size ($32), as was the panna cotta ($14). Entertainment Book accepted here.
We enquired about the size of the small bites, and the bartender gave us the accurate explanation of two would feed two people, or three if you're really hungry. We got three, and that was certainly enough. The pork belly was delicious and soft, and a good serving for the price. The truffle mac and cheese was filling and nice. The chorizo and cheese kransky was a little spicy (not a bad thing!), and comes with lemon. It would be good if it came with a sauce, as it was a little basic for $12.
The Sunday special of $30 for a barman's board and bottle of wine was pretty tempting, and I'd be confident that it's decent value.
Just found the best place in Leederville for a great night out. The food was amazing, we had a variety of tapas dishes and the sweet potato chips are the best I've ever had. We loved our cocktails and the service was incredibly friendly. Music was great especially when the DJ came in later. Will definetely be back.
The decore and ambience was nice... and the service was good. The food was ok (my girlfriend liked her dish). Unfortunately I despise goats cheese and it appears every single dish has a splash of goats cheese on it which I was trying to scrape off. Not a cheap night though... 2 enterees, mains, 2 wines... nearly $140
Yum. Ordered an espresso martini on my last visit from a friendly man behind the bar, was honestly one of the best I've ever had in Perth. The bar menu is full of delights, but my heart aches for the halloumi dish to be brought back on the menu.
This place is perfect for date night. We came here for a double date with my girlfriend and her partner and we were all pleasantly surprised. Interior was dimmed, romantic, nice & cozy. They offer many yummy cocktails, the waiters & bar staff were so helpful in choosing the perfect drinks to suit our meals. Food was amazing, everything from the ribs to the hand cut chips were cooked perfectly and were so tasty & flavourful. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back soon. Bravo Amani!
Decided to go to Amani for a spur of the moment date night with my husband and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is dark and intimate, perfect for a romatic dinner. I ordered a cocktail which they didnt have on the menu and the bar staff were able to accommodate this without any trouble. It only offers a small dining menu but enough to cater to most. Our meal incluided the seafood linguine and the porterhouse steak and they were both delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and I would say it was actually one of the best meals I have had in long time. Service was good and could be slightly more attentive but overall a fantastic night out. We would definately come back here.
Such good food! Sat outside on the street with a bunch of friends on a Friday evening and enjoyed some light dishes that were heavy on flavour! Prawns were amazing - cooked beautifully and served with quinoa and papaya salad. Mmm. Loved the house made pate - very moorish. Pigs ears were an interesting choice but actually really tasty! Staff were very knowledgable! I'll be back for sure.
Service super friendly. We had four dishes, octopus, pâté, pork belly and scallops, all were tasty the scallops were standout for me I found the late a little too rich but it was chicken and bacon so really it was to be expected. Would like to go back and try more
Tuesday November 24 late lunch
Love the small outside section
Love the pet friendly staff and smiley staff
Love the large menu options (small plates and large!)
Love the plentiful wine and cocktail menus
Love the sophisticated decor
Love that they serve food from three until late ... ( no one is open between 1500-1800 a lot of the time)
Loathe the non table service
Loathe the lack of staff
We had a great time and the experience was very casual and cool. Music was amazing.
We loved the food and the staff were very friendly. I definitely recommend this place for a good chilled out time
A little bit of a leederville gem. Very underrated but suffers from not being on the main strip. Food and service are good here without being great however very nice place for a romantic date
Nice night out. Nice atmosphere but music got quite loud. Antipasto platter for starters was amazing, the pate being the stand out element. Seafood platter for two was fresh and the perfect meal to share, crab and caviar was the highlight! Will return for a date night treat in the future
Absoultey marvelous. I adore this place, this is now my new Favourite place to eat and drink in Leederville.
Hat's off the owners
Excellent service, staff very warm and welcoming. Amazing food & such a great atmosphere! I surprised my mum for her 50th birthday here, we will definately be returning!
Had a few on Friday night, the staff were great and even called my cab.... Good service nice cosy atmosphere, good place !
Good cocktails check them out
Nice Place for drinks. Nice wine bar on Oxford street. Service was good, food was good, good cocktails and wine list. Great place to chill with a glass of wine or even a coffee. Nice place, well done
Something different. We enjoyed this place. A great alternative to the regular places everyone goes. Staff were nice enough and it had a great ambience.
We had a booking on a Saturday night. The 'fizzy knickers' cocktail served in a teapot was enough to share among four which was pleasing.
We shared two platters, octopus, chorizo and feta for entree which was all delicious and enough for the group.
The food came out in a timely manner.
Our mains were also delicious, the beef was a clear winner. One of the meals was forgotten but the staff were so apologetic and willing to make up for the mistake & therefore we felt that the customer service all evening was terrific even with this mistake.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The wine is amazing, the food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. (Anthony is so knowledgable and friendly I swear my girls & I come in to experience his energy and style of service.) always looking forward to my next visit!
My only disappointment at this place was that I found out it had been open for quite a while and I has missed it. Had a fantastic lunch with good wine and helpful staff.
Amazing food. Brilliant service. The cocktails were sensational. So impressed to find this little gem in Perth. Such an asset. Will be back very soon!!
Went there last night with 6 friends for dinner. The manager /waiter was so friendly and upbeat, he recommended some great appetisers. Food was really good, I had the lamb rack - juicy and tender, served with beetroot puree and asparagus. Everyone else had steak, which, while a bit overdone, was enjoyed by all. Great little place, I'll definitely be back.
Food Art. A quiet little place but you appreciate the personal space and being able to have a conversation without yelling over the top of eachother. Staff are friendly and smiley, and the cocktail menu is just amazing. If I was up for a big night I'd love to work my way down that menu.
But the food... I walk passed often and mostly see people in there for drinks. But that is just such a shame because the food was seriously amazing. We tried the baked camebert with grilled peaches, goats curd, smoked broccolini, lamb shanks and the fillet steak, all as share plates. I love my cheese but Amani took it to another level, and I didn't know that broccolini could taste so good! I hear the menu changes often so I'm looking forwards to going back to trying the new creations.
I absolutely LOVE this place! I've been for champers several times and find the service to be fabulous! I finally ate dinner there the other night and the scallops were to die for! The duck terrine was divine! Sold, I can't wait to come back!
Loved it. Saw the reviews and wanted to take the family somewhere a little different to our usual mix of restaurants. What a wonderful surprise when we found this place.
Service and decor were excellent, I rather felt like I was in a trendy London establishment rather than Perth.
Food was exceptional. Well priced for the quality and portion size and sliced so you can share. Wine by the glass was high quality and not the usual sad excuse that punishes you for not drinking a whole bottle. Loved the duck, steak and pork dishes in particular. The girls enjoyed the novelty share cocktail in a teapot. Will be back soon.
Oh my God. I expect the wine at a wine bar to be good. And it is. But the food? Oh.... My...... God..... Sublime
Great Girls Night Out. Went to Amani last night for a few bottles of bubbles with a few friends. We had great friendly service, tasty food - $50 deconstructed caesar salad that served all 3 of us with some tasty ($15) potatoes on the side. Then dessert , which was a briecheesecake... so tasty! great little leederville gem!
Divine - almost perfect. Have been wanting to try this place since it opened but have just never made it there. Today (Saturday) my husband and I decided to head to Leederville for lunch so it was the perfect opportunity to go to Amani.
Entered the restaurant and took a seat at one of the high tables. It was fairly busy for 2pm. There were several groups of tables occupied with groups of 2-3 and one larger party at the back of ~15 people. There was one waitress working and the barman but service was prompt and friendly.
The waitress bought the menu and drinks list straight over and we took a few minutes to look over the options. The menu is broken into 3 pages; beginning, middle and end however it needs to be made clearer. The descriptions are brief but so much so that you query (in your head) how the prices can be justified for possibly small portions. As the waitress walked past, I actually asked for clarification. It works as beginning is entree, middle is main (but then she said those portions are actually smaller than the entree sized as they are designed for sharing) and end is cheese. I had figured this but again descriptions are not 100% clear and the waitress even said people have wondered where their steak is when cheese portions come out.
Decided to go with the Freo octopus, buffalo mozzarella, scallops and the potatoes.
Entrees came out first and were aesthetically pleasing. The octopus came out with cubes of pumpkin, mint, coriander, corn, tomato and a light dressing. It tasted amazing and was really fresh, the flavours worked incredibly well together. The second dish has a generous serve of toasted bread (thinly sliced), mozzarella drizzled with olive oil, topped with (I think) oyster mushrooms. Great crunch with the bread and a subtle flavour which we didn't tire of as we polished it off.
The scallops and potatoes came out after the first course had been cleared. Lightly seared scallops with a bean and chorizo 'mash'. A small serve but more than enough with the whole baby potatoes on the side with aoli ($15).
All up with a pear cider it came to $73. Thought it was quite a lot for a lunch but as we were really happy with the food and service we said it wouldn't deter us from heading back.
The fit out is cool and the pictures on the wall of places around Leederville are a great touch. This place would be ideal for a night out with friends. Aside from the menu confusion and the slightly high prices, this place is fabulous.
Amazing! Just amazing! Great food and great service from all staff everytime I have been. Yeah it might be a bit pricer than other places but I rather pay more for a good experience.
Just Cool. With the Hip Hop beats, the BEST Espresso Martini in town and moreish food ... this place is a hidden gem. Went here a few weeks ago with some mates and we had such a good time. The blonde woman running the show is one of the most professional waitress/manager's I've ever seen, knows her stuff and isn't bad on the eye either. We ordered almost everything, the Duck being the stand out. If you go, I strongly recommend the Espresso Martini! Until next time ... 9/10.
Oxford St Fave. One of the more interesting spots on the Oxford St strip, Amani is my new favourite local destination. The Sunday High Tea is quirky & fun. Have popped in for the tapas on numerous occasions. The wait staff are friendly, informed & amusing.
Good service good wine good food. I was told about this place from a friend so we came with high expectations. Service was excellent, staff were attentive and food was fabulous. The wine and cocktails we were recommended by the bartenders were fabulous. I would definitely come back and recommend to others
Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant!. We have been here so many times it has become one of our favourite places to go in Perth whether it is a lazy afternoon or a Friday or saturday night. It has such a nice atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and take the time to chat and remember you when you return. the food is BRILLIANT, not a massive menu but it gets changed quite frequently so you never get bored. its a tapas style place but unlike most tapas bars which have the same old boring stuff like prawns, chorizo etc...these guys have interesting dishes, our favourite at the moment is the lemon gnocchi with wild mushrooms (and i'm not even a gnocchi lover) the portions are good sizes and the menu is very well priced (for food and drinks). i can honestly say that i have had the same dishes many times over and they have been 100% consistently beautiful:) Sunday evenings are also great when they have an amazing Jazz band, such a nice way to wind down the weekend...seriously cannot rave about this place enough:)
If there was a button "I love it" I would definitely pressed instead of "like". This place is amazing, great food, great service, awesome live jazz, ... A gem in Perth, really! I definitely recommend Amani and will come back in the near future!
The duck was amazing and their cheese selection was the best I've seen so far in Perth. Staff were super helpful and we had some amazing wine!
Nice time. Nice little bar. Good services and lovely food, pork was amazing. Will be back soon
The staff were friendly and very attentive. Giving great advice on wine and food. I was with a party of 10. We all just ordered several items off the menu and they brought them out over the few hours we were there. Every dish was outstanding. My fave was the cuttlefish which I wasn't sure about when we ordered it. It was packed full of flavour. The sirloin was also amazing. Beetroot salad, fresh mozzarella were all fantastic. All washed down with a fruity sav blanc and sparkling rose. Devine! I will definitely be back and I recommend you try it out too.
Classy little joint where food and drinks are fantastic..... Could have eaten full sized serves of all the tapas dishes!! Great banter with the cheeky female wait staff, great atmosphere!
Very pleasant. Went after a movie. The service was efficient and friendly, they were happy to give suggestions. Wine list is a bit limited. We settled on bubbly which was very nice. We had the mozzarella balls and a blue cheese. It was presented beautifully. Throughly enjoyed ourselves. Give it a try!
Food: delicious and reasonably priced. Service: we were well looked after and our waitress was very attentive.
Decor & atmosphere: slick, modern and warm (we went on a cold Winter night)
I am definitely going to come back!!
Tasty though not tasteful. With conflicting and mismatched interior designing, limited wine list especially international (for a wine bar!) and bad service you may be surprised that I willingly returned. The chef is a gem and the ONLY reason I will return, the menu changes regularly and each item is original and tastefully put together. Some waitstaff are inappropriately dressed, lacking wine knowledge/ etiquette and forgetful, maybe they will forget to come back to work?! Worth a visit if you can turn a blind eye to the aforementioned faults.
I was lucky enough to be taken out for my birthday and we decided to try Amani. We were welcomed by our lovely waitress and from then on it just got better. We sat in front of the kitchen so we could see the chef, josh at work. We ordered a few dishes to share as per our waitresses suggestion. The food was absolutely faultless, josh is a master in the kitchen and combines flavours and ingredients like nothing I have tasted before and they work and work beautifully! Couldn't fault any dish and they even prepared me a gorgeous dessert to make the night extra special! What a great evening from start to finish well done guys and thank you. Definitely give this new kid on the block a try you won't be disappointed
Decent selection of wine/liquor, although personally not a fan of their take on the Old Fashioned (could see how it would appeal to others, however), food well-designed to complement, prepared quickly and quite tasty. Table service swift and attentive, good atmosphere. Would come again.
Amazing cocktails & fantastic ambience!. I’ve been meaning to visit for a while since I heard this has opened. And I wish I hadn’t waited so long. What a gem of a venue! Stylish, lovely and loads of pizzazz. The décor is tastefully done, and the staff - friendly and knowledgeable about what’s on their menu. I really enjoyed the wine-based cocktails on their list, but they’re also happy to whip up any cocktail one so desires. I had the buffalo mozzarella to go with the drinks and it was very delicious. The jazz trio was a very delightful touch to complement the evening. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was delicious, wine was beautiful. Staff were wonderful.
Lovely food, great service but very small serves. Don't order the deconstructed hot chocolate thing, very disappointing. Will probably go back but a bit expensive for the serves.
