A no-nonsense pub with a great selection of cocktails that represents good value for money. Not normally my thing but I was very impressed and they are dog friendly.
This place has been a favourite of mine for quite some time. The staff are terrific, all have a great knowledge and passion for alcohol, and their menus. The food (mmm brisket sandwich) and cocktails are killer. Love the decor, and set up, too. Awesome for a boozy lunch or for getting rowdy on the weekend.
Great atmosphere for a drink and something to eat during the week and fantastic for Friday/Saturday night drinks! Always busy and pumping on the weekend
Not eaten much here so won't comment on the food. As a place to have a drink, I would say it is one of the better spots in Perth in winter. Steer clear of the espresso martinis as they are pretty average. If you're wanting a good night when it is raining on the weekend in Perth I recommend Bills. Gets a line around 9:30-10 normally.

I used to spend a lot of time in the old Leederville pub when West Perth played across the road so it was good to go back and see it in its new guise. Bare boards stripped back walls and ceilings make for an attractive spot. A small menu of pub snack type food and a small wine list as well..but with some interesting inclusions. I was particularly taken by the Coat Tugger range from Margaret River. Well worth a visit..they have a pretty outdoor area as well.
Very cool way to replace "the Leedy". Love the interiors - out door seating area is slick yet quirky. Menu is tapas style share plates and there is something for every kind of foodie. Tried the meat & cheese boards - what a dish! They change regularly so you don't know what you'll get - but know this - it'll be good! Nice wine list too.
Great place/atmosphere to have a few drinks and nibbles without the millions of people around you shouting and talking. You can just sit back in the comfy seats and relax.
Im a Fan!. I love bill's bar! great setting for a couple of drinks, the decor is cool and the food in nice. Prices are a little on the high side and service behind the bar can be slow but overall a thumbs up!
Nice place for a drink. I love Bills for a drink with their cheap drink selections, board games and nice chilled atmosphere. The selection of food is limited and overpriced but definitely worth going down for a 5 dollar house red!
I LOVE THIS PLACE. Don't hate the all caps, they are well deserved.
A fantastic addition to Leederville, Bill's offers mouth watering awesome food at really reasonable prices. I've tried everything at least once (the ceviche at least 4 times, it is that good) and cannot fault anything on the menu. My other half appreciates the $4 tins of export, while I enjoy the cocktails or the Pawn Sauv Blanc. As for the service, I have no complaints - the staff are hard working & very well mannered. The venue is warm, inviting and spacious. There can be a bit of a line Saturday nights, so try to take advantage of all Bill's has to offer try going for lunch or early evening. I am so glad this replaced the old Leedy.
Great atmosphere...really chilled out. Been going here at least once a week now, we really love everything about it, it's so relaxed, nice heaters all over the walls, decent drinks section and the tapas offers a good selection with daily specials at reasonable prices.
My new favourite - can't wait to get back. Everything about Bill's was spot on - great service, delicious food, good drinks selection - and all reasonably priced. Looking forward to visiting again!
Awesome! Awesome food, well priced, good wines, good beers, good atmosphere. Big win
Funky little pop up bar. A massive improvement on the Leedy Hotel. Staff really nice and knowledgeable with lots of good banter. Broad selection of drinks and a reasonable selection of bites to eat. Only grumble was the $2 for less than a handful of mixed nuts
Bill's Bar and Bites is getting it Right!. So when I was told that the old "Seedy Leedy" Leederville Hotel had been bought out and converted to a trendy bar I wasn't about to get my expectations too high. Boy was I off the mark on this one! - after numerous visits under different circumstances over the past few weeks, I can safely say that this place is doing "it" right.
Opening hours have changed recently and now you can get in the doors a little earlier from Friday to Sunday at 2 pm. For the rest of the work week you will have to wait until 4. On all the occasions I have had the please of frequenting this establishment it has always been to my complete surprise that we are able to waltz on in and grab a large table without a booking. I have no idea how this place isn't booked out by now.
The decor has been redone and is minimalistic yet chilled out. The service is awesome and the food and drinks? Lets just say I felt the need to Yelp about this place in a positive light so that should let you know what to expect. Pricing is also awesome and you can expect to pay as little as $5.50 for a glass of house wine, $15 for a cocktail and just over $10 for each tapas style dish (your meant to share).
An interesting side note, When you step "outside" to where they serve pizza's from the oven if you look past the edge of the "garden" you will notice that there are still many remnants of the old Leederville Hotel in the darkness. Upon asking about this we were informed the owners weren't too sure about what they want to do with that area just yet.
Having been here on several occasions I have been fortunate to have tried almost everything on the food menu and found these to be standouts (not to say the rest are bad, but the menu just changed and I haven't been able to try all the new offerings): The Duck and Manchego Cheese Cigars (even at $6 a pop these are WELL worth it), The pig and chook terrine (its decent terrine) and The Swordfish Ceviche (very refreshing and the chilli gives the dish a great kick), .
Bills Chocolate Marquis (the only desert offering) managed to fulfill the most picky desert cravings. Drinks wise we found the house wines were decent and for cocktails the two standouts were the Femme Fetale and the Smoking Cigar.
If there is one place NOT doing this place a justice, its the crowds. Don't get me wrong its "busy" but not packed. A place with this kind of atmosphere, customer service and food/drinks should be packed out every night of the week.
Haiku review. Old Leeder Hotel
Rebranded, but is quite nice
Cocktails are yummy
Great food. A bit of a wobbly start to the evening, but by the end we left stuffed and happy and impressed with their professionalism. You can't go past the duck cigars, and the pulled pork is amazing. Love the atmosphere as well-- it's perfect for a pre-movie date.
Great Spot. I intended on having a pre-dinner drink and perhaps some entree with my husband and we ended up staying for a few hours (and didn't bother eating elsewhere). I enjoyed the food and cocktails we tried very much. All things on the food and cocktail menu were interesting and in my opinion the flavours were well balanced and considered by their designers. This place almost seems too friendly and cool to be in Perth, almost as if it had been abducted from Melbourne. I say almost because it does have its own flavour too. I've seen Perth places try to be 'Melbourne' before, and unfortunately sometimes it comes off as trying too hard, this place didn't feel that way at all.
Will definitely recommend it to others.
The Chef. Haven't eaten there yet, but knowing who the Exec Chef is, the food must be fantastic .
Excellent Refresh. Checked this place out tonight, the ambience and service is top notch. We tried the swordfish ceviche and it was delicious. I'm glad they have done up this venue - it's finally the bar it deserved to be.
Will be going back, and taking friends!
Melbourne comes to Perth. Taking one step into Bill's and that hesitant thought of the Seedy Leedy with a small make over is completely gone..... WOW!!!!! The entire ambiance of the place has completely changed, the low lighting, the easy music and the decked outdoor cinema, has completely chased away any thought of seediness.
The menu offers a wide range of beers and wines but it is the cocktails that truly is the game changer for the venue.
Mixed with the amazing diverse tapas food Bill's is everything Leederville has been missing and desperately needing.
Well Done Guys!!!!
The pulled pork with young gun condiments ($12.00) is bright and cheerful, covered in a vivid red tomato sauce with slivers of onion. Pulled pork is something that we’ve tried so many different versions, plus make at home and usually we gravitate towards your smokey, deeply flavoured versions rather than saucy ones – but that’s just our own personal style.
That said, Bill’s pulled pork has meat that’s juicy and tender. We find the sauce a little too sweet for our tastes but on the plus side it’s great to see the abundance of fresh, vibrant herbs over the top and the crunch of the sweet onion.
