One of our favourite places to go with family, friends or date night. Fast friendly service. Always order the roast duck. The sizzling Japanese tofu, blachan spinach and steamed whole fish are always winners too.
Food is reasonable but nothing special. Personally I prefer Emperor's Kitchen (food taste better) which is just located next door. I only ever dine at Chins whenever EK is full.
No booking and it was packed, especially for a Wednesday night. Made room for us and the service was fast and so was the food. Very tasty and the little one got stuck right in. Will definitely be back.
This place is pretty good. Their egg noodles are sufficient enough and the rice dishes satisfy the palate. The paigu (paiguat) is the best that I've tried in Perth, so it's best to give it a go.
Otherwise, clean and comfortable. The waiters sometimes look a bit tired and grumpy and are often rather indifferent.
Best Chinese in Perth, always busy would recommend booking a table if dining in, food is superb, fantastic service, great atmosphere, recommend to anyone who lives in the Leeming / Bull creak area
Good food and service. Price is not bad. Dumplings are really nice and many more I even didn't know the names. But they were good. Give it a try.
Big chinese restaurants tucked away in a little corner in Leeming. Very nice Chinese food, and you can tell from the crowd every night even on a weeknight. Love their roast 3 duck 3 way, sang choy bao is something that I love from there. Service is very attentive, one of the waitress even changed our tea when she noticed that it has gone bland at the end. Their seafood dishes are superb, as simple as a plate of spring onion and ginger fish, it tastes just so good.
I was very impressed with the yum cha on Sunday lunch time. All the dishes we ordered were really tasty and generously filled with meat (except the filling of the char siu pau were some full, some not so much).
The tea was lovely, the chili oil had some bite, the napkins were robust instead of the flimsy ones usually seen at Chinese restaurants. The staff were very accommodating of my friend’s pram and fetching a high chair, AND seating us somewhere suitable.
$75 for two hungry girls with a few takeaways, and only drinking Chinese tea is about what we expected.
It is definitely on par with my other go to dim sum places in northbridge, without the hassles of going to northbridge and we’ll be back again.
We have been several times and it's always been really busy but have received good service.
The sizzling Mongolian beef is a must every visit as is the veg fried rice; delicious! Other dishes have been a bit hit and miss but that's probably because it's such an extensive menu and we chose poorly!
Definitely worth a visit
Absolutely loved it. Went here for lunch on a Saturday and it was packed! I had the sweet and sour pork, pork buns and shared wontons, and was some of the best I have had in a while! And for an $11 lunch special with noodles, I will definitely be back.
I was first introduced to Chins Noodle House by my partner who eats here on a regular basis with his family. Since then, I have dined here and ordered takeaway from Chins Noodle House many times now and have not been disappointed. The place seems to be very popular – it is always busy, whether it be a week night or the weekend. Lots of people coming in to pick up their takeaway as well as dine in. Despite being really busy, the service is often pretty decent and the food comes out relatively quickly. Plus the restaurant is really spacious so you’re not crammed in sitting right next to other tables. We have eaten here on special occasions such as during Chinese New year and their yee sang is absolutely delicious. We have also had their famous peking duck banquet which is also a winner – the duck skin is thin and crispy and not too fatty; and the duck meat is succulent, tender and flavoursome. I personally prefer the duck pancake here over other places I have tried, but I prefer the duck noodles at Old Cathay than here. One of my favourite dishes at Chins Noodle House is the Shanghai crispy beef which I believe is a speciality dish because I have not been able to find many restaurants that serve this. They also make their own tofu which is silky and lovely. Food is not overly expensive but it is not the cheapest Chinese restaurant. Overall it is one of my ‘go-to’ places to satisfy my craving for good Chinese food and I think it is definitely worth a try.
I like it here. Nice food. Good dim sum. Not too pricey. I'm a sucker for egg tarts and I like theirs. Also enjoy the squid tentacles and all steamed dumplings are excellent. The BBQ meat on the menu is always good too. Service has always been great here.
one of the hidden gems in leeming for n authentic asian restaurant. can get quite busy on weekend. fresh beautiful asian foods and polite customer services at reasonable price
Good customer service & huge menu! We had the salted egg yolk eggplant, mixed vegetables with satay sauce and some kind of vegetarian dry noodles that the waitress recommended would be good for a toddler. We had the fried icecream and banana fritter for dessert. All of it was delicious. If you like salty things, definitely try the eggplant (I usually don't even like eggplant). The food came out quick too.
Love chins! Always good to takeaway or eat in and never disappoints. So so yummy and hits the spot and big portions. Big fan of the duck in plum sauce! 😆
Never had a bad meal here and when we have its been sorted very quickly and that was only a mix up with the dishes, nothing to do with the quality of the food. It's always busy so it's a good sign,
A decent chinese restaurant south of the river, beats driving into Northbridge and trying to find parking. Service is quick and food is so so. Will be back for takeaway meals as it is $4 - $5 per dish cheaper.
We had meals here couple time. Peking Duck is awesome! If you order the set, it's enough for 3-4 ppl to share. Nice food, Good restaurant & Fast service. Recommended!
Tried a number of their dishes when I went on the weekend, with some better than others. The roast duck was the dish of the night that was most remarkable, it was meaty and the skin was crispy. One of the best roast ducks I've had in Perth. Also enjoyed the sambal spinach. The king prawn with mixed vegetables was cooked quite plainly so wasn't that great, and I've had better honey chicken at other restaurants.
We had a gathering night and decided to take away chin's. All the photos below are all doubled portion :) great food and they are still warm when we ate at home
Like a coin, Chins Noodle House also has two sides. Come on the weekend for Yum Cha when the owner is there. He's running around making sure everyone is happy and it's a great atmosphere with lots of great food. The trolley ladies are running around like crazy making sure everyone has enough. I like how they don't charge for chilli oil like some yum cha places. After a massive feed it is about $15-$20 pp providing your brother doesn't order some fancy king prawns.
Come during the week when the owner is not there and in his place you get Mr Sassy Pants. He is full of attitude like he belongs on Next Top Model. While you order he rolls his eyes like you and your family are a massive inconvenience. Not cool. The food is awesome though so it makes up for Miss Thang as we lovingly know him.
Order the Peking Duck. Even though its pricey you get a lot with it. The Peking wraps for starters, then this awesome soup that's made from the bones, then your choice of duck sang choy bow OR the spicy chilli duck stir fry. We recommend the stir fry. Its $65 for 4 people. Do not order anything else like we did. Rookie errors. This alone will make you full and we are big eaters.
This particular day, we had an extended family dinner at Chin’s Noodle House in Leeming.
There were 22 of us all together and we ordered tonnes of our favourite Chinese dishes, including one of our favourites: Chin’s Famous Peking Duck.
Enjoyed their Peking duck always. Especially the pancake skins that are freshly prepared. Duck can be quite fatty at times. Best
To remove fat when happens otherwise difficult to chew. Ordered the singapore style snow crab. It was nice but cost $180. Earlier the waiter gave an estimation of $130 plus price but the bill came up to $180 for this crab in the picture. Highly recommend the Peking duck. Must try. The prawn toasts are nice as well.
Had take away dinner from here at a work mate's house in Leeming who says Chins has the best roast duck and fried rice. The food was definitely tasty and wasn't disappointing at all.
.food has really improved and service for patrons has gone up a few folds. The staff are really friendly and nice. no more blackfaces and swearing from the front staff. great
Great food as always I have been going to this restaurant more than 5 years never had a bad dish .Staff are really great and friendly .
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Perth. Staff are always friendly and food is delicious. Pecking duck is my fav dish here.
Always serve good food. Peking duck one of the best in Perth. Friendly service. Good spot for dinner but make sure to reserve yr table.
As much as I love you guys..... Last night's take-away just didn't cut the mustard. Salt and pepper chicken was fine, container with mixed vegetables ($11.50) was only half full. How can you skim on the cheapest ingredients? Also, my partner was charged $1 just for using a card? Disappointed in you Chins.
BEST CHINESE IN PERTH. I don't even know where to begin with this one but chins is honestly the best Chinese resturant I have ever been to, the food there is spot on every time I go there - and I have been going there for 12 years ever since it was a little tiny resturant . The food never disappoints (I get lemon chicken, beef and mix veg and plain rice ) it's 11/10 . I have also tried many other dishes but there my 3 faves . The service is amazing and prices are spot on for what your getting. Would recommend Chins a million times
Yummy Chinese food when you don't want to go too far out of the way (if you're from the area). The chili beef is delicious, and a good size, and the service is pretty decent as well.
Yumcha dim sum and stuffed duck. We started with yum cha dishes like steamed BBQ pork bun and fried squid. Then moved to ala carte dishes. Our host had preordered the 8 treasure duck. This duck is stuffed with mushrooms, herbs, chestnuts, vegetables. Then cooked to tenderness. Very busy as we were there for Sunday lunch. Would come back again for the yum cha. If you can't finish the food they give you a take away container. Photo of chili chicken.
Why the hate?. I love chins. The shredded duck soup, to the crispy beef to the honey chicken to the noodles! I come from a very multicultural city, and have been to Hong Kong, this food, is authentic Hong Kong cuisine. Being a foreigner, I would actually say the staff are actually more welcoming than other restaurants in perth.
They have three chefs, two of them who have worked in 5 star restaurants. This food isn't your normal Chinese grease box, this is high quality Chinese/Malaysian cuisine that doesn't need to use lots of msg to make the food taste like food. Their honey chicken tastes like actual honey chicken.
For the price, yes it is a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for.
Good chinese restaurant. Our table of 8 for dinner enjoyed a lovely meal & service at Chins on a Saturday night. Chins was fully booked & the crowd of patrons were buzzing, making a warm & inviting atmosphere (as much as it can be for a suburban Chinese restaurant). The service provided by the staff was excellent & positively accommodated our requests. One of our dishes (the taro basket combo) came out a bit spicy, even though we requested non-spicy (in consideration for one of our guests). Our dishes came out extremely quickly & everyone ate their fill. The quality of the dishes is good & I'd rate them at 3.5/5 stars for quality in all respects. If you want finer presentation & dishes of greater quality, another restaurant of higher quality may be merited (Imperial Court in Como has a higher standard than Chin's overall). For the good, fast food & great service, I'd return and recommend Chins. Definitely a good choice for dinner. I have tried dim sum here – similarly I would say the dim sum is good, but not great. The quality of the food is nice but a ‘cleaner’, more refined taste is always more desirable. I am not talking about hygiene when I say ‘cleaner’ – it’s a quality statement. Give Chins a go.
Edit 2/12/2014: went there again on the weekend. Good food and very fast in terms of service. I can recommend the Tarot basket (we ordered without chilli). One thing we found extremely annoying was that the staff repeatedly tried to clear food dishes on the table when a few people had finished eating - but not everyone had finished eating! We'd go back, but next time, i think we'll just say nobody is finished yet, so they dont start packing the table up while someone is still eating.
The best fried toothfish I ever had ! It was so crispy and tasty. Also, I can't forget the taste of Peking Duck, will definitely go again .
Yummy food, very reasonably priced, and great service. Highly recommend!
Our chinese restaurant of choice. Delicious food and excellent, friendly and efficient service. Always leave feeling satisfied (and with tomorrow's lunch)!
Best in Town. My husband & I go to this restaurant regularly. The food is always exceptional and so is the service. A few weeks ago we put our dining tastes into Thomas's hands (he is the restaurant manager) as we always seem to order the same food. What he supplied to our table was brilliant - if you have never thought of trying chicken with vinegar sauce - I suggest you do. It was to die for! Try his ideas - if he knows your likes and tastes - put your trust in Thomas!!! We go most weeks to dine here and the food is always "simply the best" in Perth
Big portions!. Tasty food. Generous portions. Great for a family meal.
Wow. Had a meal on Wednesday. Gotta admit best Chinese ever.
Best Chinese in the suburbs by far...
Was recommended by friends of this place. And thumbs up to them as I will definitely be back again. Quality food easy parking and friendly atmosphere. What more do people want for a eatery in the suburbs.
It’s A Great place To Duck In...
Took my girlfriend to Chin’s Noodle House & definitely won’t be the last...A lot of chatter online but heard from friends about this place as it does good duck. The Peking Duck was a BoMB! Thats all we ordered and we were stuffed by nights end. This place was chocker’s man, lucky we booked. Now we got a fav place to grab some Tasty ducks
Their 3course meal roast duck, has just made this restaurant my absolute favourite in Perth! I'm not usually a big fan of duck, but their crispy skinned and succulent Peking duck, is to-die-for. Other dishes I would recommend is the Sizzling Tofu with Salted Fish, and their house special noodles!
Had dinner at chins on weds. Food was very good! Duck was crispy, noodles were of the correct flavour and texture. One of the best Chinese rest in perth
Delicious. Been here many times and will continue to do so.
Excellent. Now that's real Chinese food, not imitation fast food to appease the western tongue. Surely enough people have travelled to Asia to have an idea what authentic is supposed to be.
When you ask to make small changes to dishes, they actually know what you are talking about.
And yes, the basic Chao Mian is proper noodles not fried crispy rubbish for you to put sauce on.
Go for the Roast Duck and Char Siew.
Great dim sum. With chefs who were formerly with Genting Palace at the helm, dim sum at Chins was most enjoyable. Our faves included the steamed BBQ pork buns, BBQ pork pastry puffs, fried yam dumplings and beef tripe with ginger and shallot.
The food here is full of flavour and very fresh, I don't normally eat Chinese but it was really enjoyable. The plum duck is a must. The good thing about this place is the food is not oily.
Favourite.. Love this place and dine regularly. Great service with a friendly smile. Wide variety of dishes. Amazing flavours. Took my father here and now he insists on going at least once a month!
Noticed increasing negative reviews. not surprising, had not eaten here for a year, since their hefty price increases, $15 for roast duck noodle. That's way overpriced. Lots of other equally good, if not better Chinese restaurants in surrounding suburbs. Go try others.
A great family restaurant. Went there for my birthday and the staff there are very helpful. Pays to book because this place gets busy!!
The peking duck is simply amazing, skin is crispy and meat is juicy.
The lobster noodles is also delicious, cooked with egg and ginger pieces the flavour is perfect. Will definitely be back
Great tasting food. The food is always tasty. Good place to get authentic chinese food.
Nice Food, Efficient Service. We have been here quite a few times dining in and take away. The place is always heaving which is a great sign. Lovely dishes, although a little pricey. One of our favourite dishes is the ribs and chilli beef, their fried rice is lovely too. Good for close Asian take away.
Roast duck consistently performs!
Although the food's pleasant to the tastebud however it's still very pricey, a$20 for a plate of stir fried vegetable is a rip off. But I will definitely go back for the juicy flavorful roast duck. x
First time to chins and it won't be the last. Food was delivered very quickly and was hot and very tasty, quantities were generous. Only negative comment would be that the restaurant is quite noisy but that won't stop us returning. Restaurant was full with people also waiting outside for takeaway. Delicious food!!!
What the Duck !. Chins ... I go at least once a week! I have eaten in alot of chinese restaraunts through out Perth and Chins is like majority of them, you need to pick the right dishes. If you are going there I highly recommend the following as they rarely dissapoint - Salt & Pepper Chicken, Crispy Beef Shanghai Style, BBQ Pork, Beef Brisket Clay Pot & The Famous Pecking Duck. Staff are always friendly and have a smile to greet, simple and a great local. Seeya next Thursday! Until next time ... 7/10
Amazing food. the peking duck was too good. friendly staff. If it's Chinese food I'm after this will be my first choice .
Had a fantastic meal at Chins last night. All the dishes were superb - cooked just right, very tasty and lots of it. Service was fast and friendly too. Very authentic! You won't be disappointed here if you have a passion for Asian food. If an Asian restaurant has lots of Asians dining there - it must be good - always a good sign!
The place for Duck in Perth just the best.
The noodles here r delicious ! Yummy roast duck!
One of the Best. If you are a roast duck fan, this is the place. I would also recommend the sweet and sours and beef brisket. Go there during lunch or when it is not too crowded, otherwise the food tend to drop in quality probably due to hasty cooking when it is busy.
The best. My family and friends love Chins. Everything from the service to the food is wonderful. The boneless duck is the bomb. I have gone to the Chinese places in Northbridge but time and again find that for value for money and consistent quality I should have just gone 2 mins up the road to the best Chinese SOR.
Good food and great service have been going for about five years. Prices have been creeping up and we visit slightly less often.
My favourite. This is probably my favourite restaurant in Perth for casual dining. The staff are friendly and super efficient considering how busy they get. I go to Chins at least once a week with my family for dine in or takeaway. The food is always fresh, delicious and not as greasy as other Chinese takeaway that I have had before. I love the bbq and roast pork, and if dining in the boneless duck is a must! Its the only place I go to for Chinese, and wouldn't even consider going anywhere else!
Friday night treat. My family live in Leeming and we love Chins, their fried rice is the best I have tasted, not oily like some others and the service is fantastic quick and friendly.
The price is a little high on some dishes but the quality is really good, i have been many times and never been dissapointed with any dishes we have had.
Sam
Awesome!. The most amazing, fast service. Fabulous food. Definitely my favourite chinese restaurant S.O.R. Dinere here often with my family and we are never disappointed.
I have been to Chin's many times, but this was the first time this year. It is still as good as I remember, service as always was great and food arrived very fast (I had just finished starter and main arrived).
Price is competitive and worth what you get, very tasty and the menu has a huge variety of food.
The only downside is that sometimes things can get loud and talking across a table can be difficult. The table for four was also a bit small, well worth going, I will be back soon
Authentic & great service. I've been here 5 or so times and the price per dish is worth it. The service is great - they are very friendly and accommodating. It's owned by the Chin family and the father operates the kitchen and use to be one of the Head Chef at Burswood in the Chinese Restaurant. Try the snow crab with either singaporean sauce, black pepper or salted egg yolk. I live north of the river but Im happy to drive south for a good chinese food rather than heading to North Bridge. I give the Chin's 10/10
Something to consider.... Uhmm maybe David is right, I have never been to Chin's since May 2009 but previously it has a pretty good roasts and food was reasonably priced. maybe I should think twice before revisiting Chin's..
Fast Chinese food. Australian Style...To fu hot pot Not a bad dish for vegetarians. Nice thick sauce. Fried Noodles Lots of yummy noodles. Sauce and noodles slid down your throat. Good for the long life effect - some believe you eat noodles for long life. Worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.
Likes: good quality dim sum, excellent service; Dislikes: lukewarm baked BBQ pork;
Overall: our new favourite local dim sum restaurant :)
Juicy roast duck. Decent BBQ
Place is pretty run down though and service is rushed
After 2 years a return. The Char Siew was the best and most moist ever tasted. Miss the carts but was able to order my favourites. Very flavoursome. Will be back.
I had a Sunday lunch of roast duck noodle soup & prawn dumpling (har gow) . The roast duck was tasty, juicy & tender. Good potion size serving. I shall rate it 8/10. Unfortunately the prawn dumplings was not freshly made but tasted like it was from a box bought from a Supermarkets. I will rate it 4/10.
The service was good. I was promptly seated at my requested tables. The food was hot , was served promptly. Service I can rate 7/10. Parking was excellent as the shop was at Leeming Forum. I would recommend friends & family to try the roast duck noodle soup. Unfortunately, not the the dim sum of prawn dumplings. It was not up to my standard of taste & texture.
Excellent friendly service ,We did not have to wait long before our food came Which we all enjoyed Will definitely be back & will tell friends abt this great place
Always great food, and fast friendly service.
