I loved it - the food was nice and authentic. Staff were attentive and friendly. We went on a quite week night, and recommend it. I think it's be very noisy on a busy night though - probably live music (I'm personally not a fan, but you may enjoy that). The food portions were not too large, and everything was to share - which works out. I recommend it.
A Greek feeling from start to finish
Such a welcoming place! the hospitality, prompt service, pragmatic set menus, the traditional music, the clapping, the crowds. Ah, and of course, the great traditional food was part of that experience too :) The stuffed zucchini and the pita with dips were fabulous and the calamari so tender. Dessert was flaky yummy custard-filled treat with strong coffee. The white Greek wine was sweet and smooth.
Booking a table for a Saturday night was easy within 24 hours and it was surprising because the place was packed with groups! Price was very reasonable as the unparalleled entertainment was ever present. Highly recommended. We'd go back any time.
We had a set menu for 2 adults and our 2 children. A busy Saturday night and yet we were still made to feel like we were having dinner at a family home. The owner took special care of our kids who loved every minute. Music was getting ready for an 8.30pm start. The food was outstanding. We are so full. It was sensational. Hats off to the whole team. Did not disappoint!
Tavernaki in Leichhardt was like being transported to a genuine taverna in the heart of Greece or Cyprus. The service as soon as we walked through the door was exceptionally friendly. They offer three different mezzes menus so you can all try small portions of delicious Greek food. Everything was cooked to perfection and was so tasty. This family run business is definitely one of Sydney’s hidden gems.

A family run business, the menu is designed to put you in that mode as almost all the plates are for sharing. There was live music that added a feel of coziness. The food was nice and had an authentic taste, the portions are a bit small though for the prices. I'd recommend it
