Review Jasmin1 - Leichhardt

I love the food at Jasmin1. This has become a favourite for our family celebrations. The mixed platters are great if you don't know what to order. Fried Eggplant and cauliflower is a must order. Only complaint would be the serving sizes seems to be getting smaller over the years.

Was craving a mixed plate and found Jasmin1 close by. Food was great and the tea and baklava afterwards was icing on the cake. Very reasonable prices and great food. What else do you need.

We stumbled here by accident and it was a great mistake. We had a mixed plate and chicken something and both were super! Please, get the lamb sheesh because my goodness... lamb.. so good 👍 best one out of beef and chicken. They give you bread and some garlic dips and pickles too! But the sauces that come with the dishes were like oh my lord. So much and so delicious and you dip the bread and yum 👌 had to take the left overs away because portions were quite big! Super delicious, must try!

It definitely recommended to everyone who loves grilled food, the hummus is so smoky and tasty. I did forgot to take a photo as it was so delicious and I couldn’t help to try all of them. I will come to restaurant for a dinner after the lockdown.

The quality of the food is amazing. Came here with my family and we all got a mixed vegetarian plate each. The falafels are so crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. The fried cauliflower entree is delicious. Will definitely eat here again!

We booked for a table of 12 for our staff party and decided to have a banquet for 40pp. The food arrives quickly and the staff is great and friendly. However, it seems that they were too busy so they cleared our plates as soon as we finished and would like to finish the work for the day. I heard from a colleague that you should avoid disappointment by always booking for table in advance especially with large group. Their dips were delicious and the portion size was okay. However the banquet was a bit pricey compared to the amount of food we received. Willing to come back to try other dishes as the restaurant was packed full with customers so I assumed it is very popular amongst the locals. This is my first time visiting here but not my first experience with Lebanese food. Enjoy their food tastes as always. Thank you a good night!

First order from here today and couldn't be more impressed. Got the Large Mashawi and was blown away by the serving size and the flavour of each skewer. The chicken was beautifully tender, kafta nicely seasoned, and the lamb so juicy. Price was a shock, only because we pay the same for half this serving at other places! Definitely bang for your buck. Will only be ordering Lebanese food from here from now on

The food here is great! The meat skewers were tender and full of flavour. The dips however were not filled to the top :(
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
I was in Sydney visiting family. I caught up with a friend and she was like. I really feel like Lebanese let’s google what’s close by. Jasmin 1 came up it was like a 5 mins drive from where I was staying.

We called up booked a table for 2. We arrived and where taken straight to our seats. The restaurant was supper busy. I said to my friend I had tried there Kibbeh nayyeh for take away it was good.

She said what do you feel like I said I’ll leave it up to you order what ever we share. Well that was a mistake she ordered enough for a family.

She ordered chicken shawarma lamb shawarma. Some rice dish, cauliflower, then same potato with chilli and herbs.

The food was amazing the chicken was nice and moist. The lamb was cooked to perfection. I loved the cauliflower and potatoes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We dined-in as a large group for a work lunch. We pre-ordered our food for our group booking. The food came out almost as quick as we sat down and did not disappoint!
I had the mixed plate of dips with Chicken (thighs) and it was very juicy and succulent. MUST EAT whilst hot for a moist tenderlicious food coma.
The dips are on point! The fried eggplant - mouth watering and the fried cauliflower a MUST try for a first experience.
Jasmin1 Leichhardt elevates Lebanese Dining Cuisine to next level!

Have only ordered takeaway from this place and it has not disappoint every time. Reasonable prices, great portions and super delicious food. The meat is grilled to perfection and the sides are really good too.

Very clean restaurant. The staff were friendly and the service was good and delivered the goods on time! Foods were delicious and filling! Definitely go back there again.

This place is my jam - I could eat dips and fried bread for the rest of my life. The service is quick and staff are friendly. The meat is juicy and flavourful. I was a bit disappointed by the fried cauliflower though...
Hayley
Late lunch and the restaurant is still quite busy.
We got mixed plates and wraps. The dips are really flavourful and the meats are grilled to perfect smokiness. Chicken is very succulent.
The sausage is also really juicy.

Affordable and delicious!

I’m not really a fan of Lebanese food but on the odd occasion I’ll crave some chicken with garlic sauce, pickles and Lebanese bread. Searched Uber for a nearby lebanese place and came across this one with pretty high reviews.

The food was ok - ordered their chargrilled chicken with garlic sauce and chips. The chips were super soggy but had a nice hit of chicken salt on them. The chicken was ok - I liked how charred the chicken was, it gave it a nice charcoal aroma. The garlic sauce was a letdown. It was a very light hint of garlic and the rest was just lemon. If you don’t really like a strong hit of garlic you may like this, but it wasn’t for me. Does it match up to what you can get back west? Definitely not. However, it was an ok meal at reasonable restaurant prices.

Very nice food and good service all round. I definitely over ordered here, but that’s never a bad thing as it was great value for money. Tried one of the mixed plates (entrees or sides with it would not be necessary) and it was all great, especially the falafels. Very quick service. I would go here again.

Four of us decided to go here as our Christmas get together, and we are very glad we did.

The service was a little slow to begin with, but thankfully not for long. And the staff were very friendly and helpful - even if it did take a little while, and asking twice, before one of our little group got the salt he wanted.

The food! The food was wonderful. We ordered the Jasmin banquet plus a dish of potato coriander (because we all love potato coriander). The waitress had advised that we would only need one plate of it, and she was so right. There was so much food, and all of it delicious. Plus, the lemon and mint juice and the rose water drink were an excellent accompaniment.

All and all, a wonderful evening. We will try and get back here.

Ordered off Uber eats we ordered 3 meats a majadra ( seriously the worst ive ever had basically boiled rice with a few lentils and a small amount of fried onion...it had set in a lump and was flavorless) and a Labne best thing that came... probably bought in !
Each dish supposed to come with bread and pickles, not lovely Lebanese pickled vegetables instead dill pickles ...lazy and 3 lebanese breads
When it was delivered estimated 40 minutes took over 50, the chicken was dry not cooked to order . I was so surprised with what turned up for $95.00 i rang the restaurant because i thought the driver had left a bag in the car before realising that was our complete order .
Lets just say i will never go there or order again crap and over priced

Great food, simple, fresh and fast. Fed our family of five for $100 and loved every single dish - especially the cauliflower!! This is now one of our local faves

One my of all time favourite Lebanese restaurants!!Definitely love the leichhardt chain, the owners are so friendly and always looking to improve the dining experience!Service might be slow at times but once you see the food you understand why 😍😍😍😍😍
My favourite dish is the Grilled Chicken Mixed plate! And their dips are so nice and fresh, not to mention the best tabouli i have tasted! Absolutely highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Another favourite to order would be that cauliflower it is just delicious!!!!Highly recommend a visit here, but make a booking on the weekends as it gets full fast!

The best Lebanese between north of parramatta road and east of the M4. If you're in that area then there's no better. It's not the absolute best Lebanese in Sydney but it's not that far behind and their mixed plates offer more variety than some others too.

This place is hit & miss. I've been several times in the past year or so and half of the times were good experiences and the other half were not so good.

✔️Their kafta skewers are always juicy and delicious, and I have to say the meat sambousek is special here. Always. A plus of this restaurant is that the food is super super cheap and generally good value for money as the portions are generous. Most of the time the service is very quick and our large orders of food will take MAX 20 mins for all of it to come out.

❌ Although the kafta skewers are always juicy, I find that the chicken & Lahme (lamb) skewers are sometimes dry. Every time I have ordered fattoush here something's wrong with it; it's either hot or the bread is soggy and it tastes 3 days old. Yes the service here is always quick however I cannot say that the service here is friendly because it's not at all. Not once have I had a nice waitor/waitress.

Food 2.5/5
Presentation 4/5
Service 2/5
Location 4/5

This has always been my go to Lebanese Restaurant, great service, great food, great prices.
Big shock today!
Bread and water brought out once orders are taken minus the toum and pickles. I asked if things had changed as the bread came by itself and was told that the rest comes out with the meal. Then why the bread? Do we just keep ourselves occupied eating dry bread? OK, we'll wait. OMG did we wait and wait and wait... The longest time we have waited here for one mixed plate - maybe 40 minutes - and the place was less than half full. What was on the plate was about 2/3 the amount of what we used to get for a lower price...yes prices have gone up...and the toum was in a tiny bowl on the plate. The waiter had to go back and get the pickles. When I went to pay I had to wait ages for the waitress to get off the phone and then for them to work out at which table we sat - which was right near the entry...yes more waiting. I asked if management or just the chef had changed but was told everything was the same.

I was told that the staff complained at having to carry out the bread and the toum and the pickles so the extras were left until the meal came out to save work....but bread was brought out so why not carry the toum and pickles in the other hand or put the whole lot on the tray and bring everything in one go? The waiter had to go back for the pickles after bringing the main anyway so, where is it labour saving? I said price has increased, portions are smaller and the service has gone down hill but that didn't seem to be acknowledged. I said the staff may be happy they don't have to look after the customer so much but to wait 40 minutes for a meal with dry bread instead of bringing out the toum and pickles to keep the customer busy whilst waiting for the food would be better service and perhaps make the customer - who is the reason the restaurant is open - happy and willing to come back instead of never come back again and tell all their friends not to go again
Eatwithyourmouth
Eating in is definitely better than take away. Bit expensive and the garlic is crap, but service is great, meats tasty and tender, and c'mon, it's westie food in the inner west so I have to cut them a bit of slack.
Andrea Guerrini
Super good humus, best garlic lemon chicken, really nice tabouli. We are regular take away costumers and it has never let us down. I would only recommend to be a bit more generous with the bread.

This is my favourite place to grab some Lebanese food. Between the selection, price and taste it's a winner. I usually grab a mixed meat plate and it's is $19. It's a massive meal with amazing flavours. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is ok (but really you would go for the food). Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!
Brett Richards
Dined here a few weeks ago with friends and we all thought the food was quite tasty however it was marred by poor service and the attitude of the waiter after a very large hair was found buried in one of our friends meal..... he was like ....so?
Apparently the chef just said.. it's not mine so it must belong to the diner, tough.
Very ordinary attitude, we will not be coming back.
Sydneyguyrojoe
We ordered the $30 banquet and we were all surprised by how fast the food came out

A little strange for me that the banquet included hot chips but I liked the chicken salt they put on it

They also had fried bread pieces which was something different but the colder it got the less crunchy it became

The meat was a little disappointing. The chicken was soft and tender but didn't have much taste

The lamb pieces were a little burnt the charcoal taste at times took over all the flavour

The lamb kofta was the best and the most tasty,it's up to the usual high standards I was expecting

I liked the falafel how it was crunchy on the outside but my fiancĂŠ found it dry

Everything else was up to good standard like the fattoush, the dips and pickled vegetables

Service was busy this night though it wasn't too hard to get someone's attention though we had to ask for water twice

The banquet was a lot of food so it's good value but next time I just might get the mixed plate instead
Sydneyeats_by_two
We came here for a mid week dinner. The place was relatively busy but we were seated quickly and greeted with the complimentary garlic dip, pickles and bread. We ordered kofta, fattoush salad and hummus with meat. Very pleased with the food & we would come back again.

Excellent. Out of its hands but would be even more excellent if there were more parking, other than that at the malls, in the area.

We ordered mixed plates, which provided a bit of everything for an reasonable, affordable price, as well as some other dishes. Great value, though meat can be a bit dry and tough.

The service was superb and the staff were very conscientious. Ambience is all right; some dining parties can be a bit rowdy.

Would happily recommend Jasmin1 Leichhardt to friends.

I love this place !

Starters - fattoush salad; full of flavour.
Mains - the chicken with garlic sauce, and their mixed plate coupled with their baba ganoush is just heaven.
Dessert - a bit of baklava never hurt!
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
Love this place. It's loud, bold and brash, and the food is delicious, and full of flavour.

There's nothing particularly fancy about Jasmin 1 but it's easy dining with the option to BYO.

Be sure to take home your leftovers!

Have wanted to try this place for ages & now I wonderes why I took this long! Got takeaway and it is fast and efficient. Food is authentic, delicious, fresh & healthy tasting. The mixed grill is huge and great value. Falafels are some of the best, so crunchy on the outside & full of chickpeas and spices, just a little heavy on the seasoning for me. The dips are also amazing, not overly oily or garlicky. The meat has a beautiful charcoal flavour permeating through. Cant wait to eat more of their dishes!

Cauliflower delight - crunchy, yummy and tastes better than it looks.I must say up front that I love the way Jasmin1 prepared and served their veg creations.I particularly like their eggplants, cauliflowers and salad mixes.I can see that Jasmin1 is a family favourite. There was a sizable birthday gathering the day we visited, with a long table full of little girls and a another half table seated by little boys. This created an atmosphere of homeliness and together with cuisine inspired by homeland traditions, the restaurant echoes what is is special about greater Sydney - no lack of choice, ability to saviour cooking styles from around the world and absorb in other cultures. I noticed the stained glass Moroccan lanterns and the geometric panelling of the decor.Lebanese coffee, Turkish delight and Baklava are of course made to accompany a menu structured into sides, mains, dips, sweets, salads, mixed plates and Mashawi. The latter refers to the barbecued meat and poultry that are skewered or in Kebabs. It is a collective term for core soul food in Arabic society and can be found as street stalls or in cafes or restaurants. They are normally in beef, lamb and chicken versions, often accompanied by salads, rice or eaten just on their own.

I've been to Jasmin1 in leichhardt about four times in the past couple of years. The food has always been awesome. Usually when I've been there I get the mix plate to share, which comes with a different selection of meats eg. Chicken and beef, tabouli, houmos, felafel and baba ganoush. The fried eggplant is amazing as are the fried kibbeh. This place is great value.

Jasmin1 is one of my favourite Lebanese places. I have eaten in a couple of times but mostly we get home delivery. The order is pretty much always the same - fattoush with pomegranate adding an edge, and crispy pita chips adding crunch. The fried eggplant is gorgeous, tender and melting in the mouth, as os the chicken. The chicken mixed plate is a generous size, with creamy hummus and baba ganuj providing the perfect foil to a feast.
Food 4
Coffee --
Service 2.5
Ambience 3
Location 3
Noise 3.5
As always, one of the best mixed plates in Sydney. The meat is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The only place better than this is Jasmin1 in Auburn.

Great service and the food is very nice. Is it the best Lebanese taste wise- no way . But a great night regardless.
Positives - friendly, prompt service with a sense of humour. Good food. Value was awesome. Tok much food actually.
We did the Sultan set menu for 7 of us. It could have fed 10. We shouldn't waste food- they happily provide containers for take away.
BYO is another positive, bottle shop really close too.
Negatives: needs more "middle eastern" atmosphere. Music or dimmed lights or something , it was just too bright and lacked that "escape" feeling.
Food was a bit greasy and bland.
Fatoush was disappointing with too much capsicum, no radish and mint?
Tabouli needed more dressing
Lamb was way over cooked and poor quality.

I would return, but can't give it higher rating based on better experiences in Concord, Burwood and Lakemba.

A local favourite in Leichhardt, the hommus is by far one of the best I've tasted and you can't go wrong with a mixed plate. The newly renovated restaurant and delicious food come together to make a great night indeed. Did I mention it's BYO?
Abbott And Abbess
The food was generally very good, however the service was very poor, bordering on chaos!!! The waitress did write the order correctly as she read it out to us, however, the manager said the waitress made a mistake and recorded the SIX main meals as four with the "extra meat" dishes added on the other main meals, which was totally false and ridiculous. He began to argue with us. He was unapologetic at first until he returned later with the food. His excuse was they were "busy", when from our perspective, it was about 50-60% capacity.

The main problem was the six people in the group were served in two groups.

The first four were served one hour before the last two people. We mentioned the missing last two mains to two waiters and they both acknowledged but did nothing. When the manager was approached he was telling us that we were wrong!

It was a shock.

They also would not offer a reduced size rice dish, even though it seemed a reasonable request.

We will not return. If you are going with a larger group, make sure you clarify the orders.

In the end we approached and explained that we were only going to pay for one of the very late main meals which he accepted, although continued to carry on, it was poor form.

Thank you Jasmin1 for coming to Leichhardt. The food is mouthwatering and is consistently fresh and flavoursome. Lovely atmosphere inside and also great for a takeaway. Their lunchtime wraps are a delicious treat too. Service can be a little slow but it's well worth the wait.

Beautiful service and authentic food, great garlic dip. Highly recommended. They catered for our function and we stayed there for a few hours. They provided even the candle for a cake that I forgot. I will go there again for sure! Everyone went home happy.

Just okay. Food wasn't very good and even service was very stranded... Never go back
So I would say just okay .............,,,,,

Great food and great value for money. You will not be disappointed by the food! The Garlic Lemon Chicken is the best I have ever tasted. Always take my family and friends to this restaurant and they always ask to go back.

One of my regular restaurants. Amazing meat, BYO, cheap.. You can't look past it! Often come here for a quick bite or long degustation with friends. Everyone finds it delicious, especially the vegos!
Miss Deliziosa
I normally get takeaway from here but have eaten here before as well. This is our neverfail place for a lebanese fix. The mixed plate is good as it gives you a variety of meats and some dips too. The garlic dip is so tasty as well.

The chicken shawarma tastes really good! Worth giving a try and the tea they offer you till the time you wait for your order is really yummy! The place is really good with good music and ambience!

Let me start by saying that I am not the type of person to ever make the effort to post a review online and quite frankly I created this account for the sole purpose of posting this review to express how deeply disappointed I am and I firmly believe others should be warned about this dungeon alleging to serve authentic Lebanese food!

I am a regular diner of another completely unrelated Lebanese restaurant in Sydney (which I will not name so as to be fair toward this review) and have also visited Jasmine1 in Punchbowl and Bankstown and thought it would be good to try the Leichhardt restaurant as we could get gelato afterwards.

I don't even know where to begin!

Surprisingly the restaurant was full and lucky I made a booking. Whilst the interior was not the greatest and the service was poor my focus will be on the quality of food.

I come from a Lebanese background however I do eat all variants of others cultures foods. I particularly LOVE toom (Lebanese garlic dip).

My first disappointment of Jasmine1 was the mezze (complementary bread and dip) provided to us. The pickles and cabbage served came in a tiny plate barely enough for 1 person let alone 2, and they looked like they had been out of the fridge for hours all wrinkled and dehydrated.

To my absolute detriment (I cannot express this enough) the garlic dip served was absolutely disgusting! Honestly, you would be better off going to Coles and buying a premixed tub and that would taste better! If the garlic is not on point it leaves an unpleasant taste in your mouth.

We ordered chips and garlic together with 2 chicken mixed plates (substituted the tabbouleh for fattoush).

It literally took a good 20 mins after our order was taken to bring out a measly bowl chips!! The chips were so dry and lacking flavour. We requested salt and to our bewilderment the waitress claimed the restaurant had no salt and instead offered a plate of herbs and spices to sprinkle on top. Salt is a basic cooking ingredient; what conventional commercial kitchen can be conducted without the use of salt!

The chicken mix plate came with a massive slab of baba ghanough and homous sprawled across the plate with 3 sewers of chicken together with a bed of onions, 2 falafel, Lebanese bread and what is masquerading to be fattoush.

The baba ghanough (eggplant dip) had a foul burnt taste to it. The homous had ZERO flavour and the quality of the chicken was quite rubbery and definitely not authentic tasting.

The fattoush contained chunks of (old and stale looking) fried Lebanese bread which were not even freshly made or even mixed through the salad. The salad itself had a very basic taste something you would expect from a low quality restaurant. It had no flavouring or the usual zesty fresh tang you should taste after eating fattoush.

Sadly enough with each mouthful I took I was hoping that this time it would taste better - I was wrong.

I am so upset that such a restaurant claims to be serving authentic Lebanese food when in reality the quality of the food is pathetic and authentic Lebanese food does NOT taste like that.

I'm not being racist but when you go to a Lebanese restaurant you expect to see Lebanese employees. There was not one! No doubt with purely Asian, Indian, African and Australian staff in the kitchen and on the floor, the food is definitely not going to be the real deal and taste the way it should.

Please do yourselves a favour owners of Jasmine1, the other Jasmine1 restaurants are proper Lebanese restaurants with flavoursome Lebanese food with Lebanese staff. You are shaming yourself by maintaining business in Leichhardt as this food you are serving is NOT authentic Lebanese food.

I most definitely will NEVER return there and do not recommend it!

If you would like a recommendation of a fantastic Lebanese restaurant you are more than welcome to contact me accordingly.

This used to be one of our favourite Lebanese spots but after the service we got last week We don't think we'll ever go back. The food's still decent but now that they're popular and busy they can't hold themselves together - which is largely due to the terrible staff! Came in asking for a my reservation for 5 people, and even though the only spare table in the room was right next to the door and had 5 seats around it, I was left standing there as the waitress had no idea what was going on. The other waitress who later took our order and served us didn't crack half a smile once. It took about 30 mins for the first two plates to come out(one of which was wrong) then we waited an extra 10 for the other three. In the meantime we asked for extra garlic sauce and fattoush and another bottle of water. Our other dishes finally came out but the extra sides never did. About halfway through our meals we ask again but clueless waitress number one walks away, comes back after 5 mins and has to ask again what we wanted because she can't find it. I'm sure it's not hard to whack some garlic sauce on a plate and some fattoush in a bowl so who knows what she was looking for but we told her to forget it since we'd practically finished by this stage. Then when they cleared our plates, they took three and left two in front of us. You're better off going to one of the other jasmine1 restaurants.. Sure they're not as fancy or in as nice an area, but the foods the same and at least you're addressed as you should be in any restaurant.

The mixed plate, a little bit of everything. A struggle to finish it on most days. Friendly staff and the brothers who own the shop. The kebabs and the falafel are my favourites. The dips, both the Baba ghanoush and Hommous, are delicious.

I have never been to Jasmin 1, Leichhardt.

However, I have ordered home delivery numerous times and have always been satisfied. It is a great thing to home deliver food fresh and good to go - perhaps it works here because I live just around the corner.

I especially rate the homous and baba gannoush, with the tabouli pretty tasty also. They always provide generous portions of bread, pickles and dips with a takeaway order at no extra charge.

I notice a number of reviewers here were unhappy with their dine-in experience. Perhaps forget about that and order home delivery.
La Petite Bobo
I ate here a few days ago when searching for quality Lebanese food. I opted for the lunch special - $10 for a plate of falafels, hommus, fattoush salad and Lebanese bread. The portion was huge I could hardly finish it. We also tried the deep fried cheese triangles. They were so delicious I will definitely be back for them! Although the service was quite monotonous, there was nothing to complain about. The food was delicious and cheap so I will definitely be back!

Food 8 Service 0. Ive been in the hospitality industry for ovr 20 years and this is some of the most appalling service ive ever come across. The food was delicious. ..although they did stuff up our order...and after 25 minutes of just sitting there when we had finished being completely looked past by staff, i had to go up myself to the counter where 3 staff memebers were just having a chat....1 eating in plain sight of customers (worst look ever). ..and ask for the table to be cleared and the bill. Needless to say we didnt tip anything. Sort out your staff, or you'll start to find people wont return...i know i wont...even tho the food was great.
Estelle
Really poor service here. In fact they were so rude, we will never return. Got our order wrong, refused to change it and arrogantly didn't seem to care at all. Big no from us.
Laurenscott982
The best Lebanese food and service is superb!. I had dinner on this restaurant a week ago and they were very busy! I thought me and my friends won't be able to have a sit since they were full but a lovely lady approached us and told us that if we can wait for 15 minutes, she will give us a good spot and she did! The food is so yummy, meat is tender and the fried cauliflower is the best. The service is exceptional, she keeps on checking with our table making sure everything is alright! Will definitely be back to them and recommend the restaurant to my family and friends. Well done Jasmin1!
To sum it up, Jasmin1 in Leichhardt does good food at very agreeable prices. Their food keeps you coming back and their garlic sauce makes you want to take it home.

Best falafels in Sydney hands down. Well at least the best I've had so far :) I've always had fond memories of the perfect crunchy outside and the soft insides of the falafels at the Lakemba store, so after finding out a place named Jasmin 1 had opened up at the closer suburb of Leichhardt, we decided to go and do the falafel test. It brought back the same memories of the falafels in Lakemba, so I'm presuming they're either owned by the same people or at the very least are both using similar recipes. We got one meat mixed platter and one vegetarian mixed platter, to try and sample as much as we could. In addition it comes with complimentary lebanese bread, pickles, olives, chilli sauce and the most amazingly fluffy garlic sauce :)
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
Did I mention that price includes a never-ending bag of Lebanese bread, an abundant plate of fresh mint, olives and piquant pickles, two non-alcoholic (sorry it’s a hard and fast rule) beverages and a slice of take-home baklava...
Missfoodie
Came here after getting some delicious take away the week prior. We ordered the banquet, 4ppl. The salads were tiny, not enough for 1 spoon each so we asked for more. Waiter rudely commented "you have to pay for that" ummm like, that's fine. Just bring us the salad. We waited ages and then were told there were no vine leaves left and the prawns brought out Wernt part of the banquet and we would have to pay. We were still missing food and at this stage it was 10pm. We told them to cancel the rest of the order. There was no sorry, nothing. WORST SERVICE will not be coming back here. Avoid at all costs. Rip off! Shame cause food is ok.

Way too much salt, poor service and no atmosphere. My wife and I ate here this evening with our 4.5 yo and 1.5 yo. The indoor dining space was more humid than outside and echoed badly. The kids menu comprised of chicken nuggets and chips. We ordered a lamb with rice dish, prawns and a mixed plate with chicken. The portions were large and if you love salt it is good value for money. The prawns were salty and oozed garlic. The chicken was also very salty. The lamb wasn't but then it just tasted dry, bland and non- descript which is a shame as a good sweet and moist dish might have given the contrast the meal needed. The rose water drink was the only sweet item to cut through the salt, but it was like drinking liquid Turkish delight. Too sweet perhaps. I always think of Lebanese food as having lots of flavours all contrasting and balancing themselves. Alas, this was just a big salted caramel affair which left me thirsty and cooking for the kids when I got home.

Missing food and forgotten about. Missing food from my $55 order, only noticed after i had picked it up, was told they would deliver it with the next driver but after 2hrs waiting I called and said just forget it. Got offered a free can of coke as a appologie... kind of lame experience. I think ill try some of the other lebanese places before i got back. If i go back...

Horrible service - okay food. While the food is okay here, the service is horrible. LONG wait between courses, missed food and over a 60 min wait for bill. Save yourself the trouble and go to a restaurant that knows the meaning of customer service.

Jasmin1? Mixed feelings. Had dinner at Jasmin1 last night. Wasn't impressed. Our table had the Sultan's Banquet, which is priced at $35/pp. Nothing spectacular really. No doubt food is freshly prepped as anyone ought to expect at any establishment worth its salt, but very small meat servings in the banquet makes us wonder if we had been served the vegetarian banquet by mistake. Would have been better off if each of us just ate bread with salad. Other tables appeared to have ordered non-banquet main meals and those appeared decent in portion size. I won't be back at this rate, many other establishments of this genre to sample. A pity really considering the reviews and hype.
Hello
Food good, but HORRIBLE Delivery Service.... Had delivery from these guys 4 or 5 times... food is pretty good. I'd be going positive if their delivery wasn't so bad! First time (yes valentines day, so I expected to wait)... OVER 3.5 HOURS to get here, and only cause we called to see what was going on. Got a couple free deserts, but dinner arriving at 10pm when we ordered at 6:15 was pretty bad... the week later... 2.5 hours to deliver (and I literally live 3 blocks away)... when I called, the driver had delivered 2 orders to the same house, but they did nothing, and he didn't tell them. If I hadn't called I don't think it would have come at all. My mate down the road has also said 2.5 hours delivery is standard for him too, he lives even closer. He likes it so much he just orders early... but man, it's pretty frustrating.

Food was absolutely delicious! Prior to going, I read a review stating it was the best Lebanese restaurant in Sydney... they certainly was right. Can't wait to go back!

FANTASTIC food TERRIBLE service. A frustrating place. On the one hand the food is AMAZING and fantastic value for money if judged just on the food jasmin1 cannot be faulted and should be crowned one of the BEST lebanese in sydney. However, a restaurant is not just food but service also and the service at jasmin has to be similarly crowned the WORST in Sydney. Since they relocated we have eaten there, the first time took well over 1.5 hrs for our food to arrive we thought fine just teething probs but have been back since and its no better. I think the problem is their takeaway orders causing a bottle neck to the restaurant in any case the wait times are unacceptable and make this a place to AVOID as these wait times sour the whole evening. It's a shame as the food is great but takes so long that by the time it arrives your over it.

Went the other day with a group of mates. Food was great and fresh, service was good and well priced. Will be back

My wife and I celebrates a recent wedding anniversary at this delightful restaurant. It was our first occasion there. The service was personable and strentive. They made us feel very welcome and provided some good suggestions from the menu. The food was delicious. The variety of dips and salads was broad and the flavones were spot on with some succulent meats complimented by a variety of spices and a mountain if fresh bread. The Lebanese tea was a new experience for us both and was a great way to finish off the meal. The place was buzzing with small and large groups for. Monday. The staff were friendly and could not do enough to make our night special.

$25ph for banquet (vegetarian&meat)
they're tricky when you come in a big group because you don't get value for your $. Worse communication between the staff and manager and they admit to making a mistake but still want to charge us for their mistake? don't go in a big group because you'll get screwed over by these guys. not happy and never coming back with the kind of business we could've given you if you had just simply taken responsibility for your incompetence. $500+ spent and we left unhappy :/
Yum Yum
Food is delicious and service is friendly. Lovely flavours in all of the dishes and we had trouble agreeing a single favourite! Highlights were lamb with rice, the potatoes and coriander, charcoal chicken, stuffed vine leaves. The baba Ganoush was some of best I have ever tasted. Yum!

Rip Off. We have found the food excellent and the service very good as well. However, the corkage fee was absolutely exorbitant and extremely disappointing. To charge $2.50 for each beer bottle (6), + 1 wine bottle, regardless the fact that we had to open most of them ourselves and one bottle did not even come to our table at all, we were charged 8 corkage fees, which added up to $ 20, which is absolutely outrageous, especially in view of the fact that we only brought in 7 items. Therefore there was, to top it, all an overcharge of $2.50. As a result of this we will not visit your restaurant again or recommend it to our friends.

-----30 Jun, 2013-----

Carl. 1.5hrs for delivery with 3 x calls to clarify. Wrong food sent and no apologies. If you've been to the originals (bankstown / punchbowl), you wouldn't waste your time here. Overpriced, small servings and they can't even get an order right.... Better choices around just look.

Don't pass this up!. This is one of my new favourites, the quality of food is amazing, service is friendly and prompt, and the price... well the price is definitely one of the motives to keep returning!

Last night I had finished work late and I went with a friend, they closed the kitchen at 11pm which was great. The atmosphere is warm and pleasant, a nice Middle Eastern atmosphere with the music video clips from Lebanon ( I have no idea what they are saying but its enjoyable!) the complimentary bread, dips and mixed pickles that came out were all tasty and by the time we finished the mains & sides we were stuffed, yet felt content! To top it off we were given cinnamon tea complimentary to the meal as well!!

All in all, dinner for 2 people (who might I add, like to eat a fair bit!) for only about $40 is very generous considering the quality and quantity.. To feed one person in other middle eastern places cost roughly that much like on many occasions (El Phonecian, Zenobia, Le Sarab).. Saying Jasmin 1 is 'good' is an understatement! Give it a try!

Good food. Portion sizes of salads and dips are much smaller than similar restaurants in Lakemba, Punchbowl, Bankstown, etc. It's much better value to go there if you can. Otherwise Jasmin 1 Leichhardt is an ok substitute

SHOULD BE BETTER. Nothing beats home cooked Lebanese food. What passes for Lebanese food in restaurants is rarely the true taste of Lebanon. The kibbee was okay-but not like the real thing..The cabbage rolls were just rice and they were devoid of containing minced meat as per the menu. What happened to the missing meat?
Service was great and friendly. The taste was also okay and it would have been great value if only the cabbage rolls contained minced meat as the shoud have..I will try again later when the meat is reinstated in the rolls.

Firstly on a positive note the food was delicious, now on a not so positive not we ordered a banquet for 9 people the quantity was no where near enough we were brought out enough food to feed 5 out of 9 of us, the service was not welcoming nor did we have any vibe of the middle eastern culture. Altogether it was not an enjoyable experience for Mother's Day

Food good but you have to wait a long time. The food is good here but every time i have visited here for a meal i seem to have to wait ages to be served and tis included food to take away when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, my husband and i also got turned away once when we had a voucher and arrived without booking thinking it would be ok to use it as there was hardly anyone there and the waitress said sorry you need to book , how ridiculous i can understand it if it was a Saturday night but they weren't even busy, so as locals it left us with a bad taste in the mouth , shame they couldn't have accommodated us as now we won't be back.

I think the management is disgusting. I had my order take wrong and said I has to wait 2 hours for my the Rest of my order to be delivered and I got a call 2 hora later saying that I was not getting it and that it was my fault and I had to pay for a full order. the management is terrible and I will never by from there again. Poor management equals poor restaurant

Great food and service. I used Jasmin 1 to cater a social night for 10 people based on the Urban Spoon reviews. I have to add mine - it was excellent! The staff were friendly and accommodating. I got a mix of food at $15 per person and everyone loved it. I wanted to make sure there was plenty for everyone, and they happily obliged! Will definitely use them again.

2 hours of waiting for dry, overcooked meat. Never again

Excellent Every Time. I have eaten her four times now and am very impressed with the friendly staff and most of all the wonderful food. Everything is cooked to perfection. Luckily on our first visit the waitress stopped us from over ordering with very good guidance. I don't know if Jasmine 1 is in any way connected to the famous Jasmines at Lakemba which I also enjoy. However, I find Liechhart has the edge over Lakemba in terms of food and ambience.

Great food at a great price. Good quality Lebanese food at a great price - mix plates are fantastic value! Only down side is the atmosphere and no alcohol policy but on a positive they do take away. It's always busy so that's a good sign. Definitely worth a visit.

Good food but nothing out of the ordinary. Price good for mixed plates. Terrible service as understaffed and unwilling to modify plates to dietary requirements. Uninspired atmosphere - fluoro bright lighting and white walls and floors. Good for relatively cheap st slightly above take away standard but not good for a real dining out experience.

Great food, great value. Our lunch was well worth the travel from the Central Coast. Handy to bus to Central & the food was well up to standard you'd find in the better Middle Eastern countries i've visited.

Phenomenal. Every time we come back we are knocked off our chairs. The food is incredibly authentic, even more tasty and unbelievable value. We use to drive an hour to the original Jasmin restaurants in Punchbowl/Bankstown and are so greatful these guys have opened up closer to town.

A brilliant choice for a night out especially with large groups to share plates of some of the best middle eastern food in sydney. yum.

Our go-to felafel joint. Have been here a few times to dine and also for take-away. The mixed meat plate is awesome and we always get their felafel plate.

Great value. Loved the felafel.

Jasmin 1 is one of our favorite joints for Arabic food in Sydney. The food is amazing, customer service is excellent and it's real value for money. Definetly recommend!

One of the best middle eastern restaurants in Sydney. Friday night, we were in mood for something not so fancy. From Urbanspoon, we picked Jasmine 1, as the interior of the restaurant looked decent for the price range mentioned. Though we were highly skeptical, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We ordered two of the mains, a lamb kebab and chicken skewer.
They served a complimentary huge basket of super soft middle eastern bread wrapped neatly, dips and yummy platter of salted chillies and vegetables!!!! Though I am not a big fan of chicken, that chicken skewer turned out to be one of the best I have had. It was juicy and succulent. The portions are really perfect and filling. We had the lebanese tea afterwards and though I am not an expert in this, I could say it tasted gorgeous and refreshing. There was no bitter after taste or anything nasty of that sort.

This place is so much better in terms of food, compared some of the pricier, fine dining Middle eastern restaurants in Sydney. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean

Went here with a few mates after being disappointed by all the Arabic restaurants in surry hills that seem to only get good reviews from people that don't know how good Arabic food can really be. Jasmin 1 is definitely one of the best Arabic restaurants I've been to. Delicious food, friendly service and excellent value for money as they give you big portions.
