Review Mekong Noodles Bar - Leichhardt

Best laksa in leichhardt area, even the vegetarian laksa taste nice. Before this, I couldn’t find any laksa in leichhardt I would want to give a 2nd chance. The vegetarian pad see ew was really nice too. Very efficient too, I ordered via the phone before I left, when I get there it’s already done. So just simply pay and pick up the food.

They say whole Maryland chicken then send me a quarter chicken. I call them to say they need to change the menu that there is a mistake. I couldn’t believe what I was going to get back from this guy, first he tells me that it’s a mistake from menulog. Okay fine out of curiosity I check their website it says the same thing. So I call back then he tells me no that this is a whole Maryland chicken lol. Then tells me I don’t know Asian food etc. I dunno, I might not have ordered a quarter chicken but moreover I especially don’t like being lied to… so beware of these guys.

The worst thai food in Sydney I ever have. Last week, odered Chili basil combinaison was very sweet. (I requested Extra spicy) but it was so so sweet, chicken, beef, bbq pork they were not fresh at all. Today give them the 2nd chance. Ordered chicken satay. The worst chicken satay I ever have again. The chicken they cooked has been frozen. I'm OK alot of restaurant do that too. But the quality was so bad. It's so hard to bite. They fried chicken not grilled. Satay sauce has no taste. Green curry chicken was so so sweet like desert eventhough I asked Extra spicy. I'm so Sorry. I Don't know how they can win the award Best​ thai food or something from menulog.

Cheap and cheerful. Really fresh and tasty food. Very clean, pleasant causal seating. A great find, I'd recommend this place without hesitation. Most dishes on the menu are delicious. Its conveniently located and not too expensive.

Fabulous noodle bar on Norton street, fresh clean soup, if you love noodle soup try Mekong. They also uber deliver, fast and friendly service. $10 lunch deal, large soup and drink. I’ve been here a few times now and stock for the soups is always delicious

Still GREAT FOOD, SERVICE AND ATTITUDE !!!!!! I have been coming here few years and the food, service attitude have always been great !!! Oh, of course there are still a few customers that have a whinge too but every food place gets them, you know the type never happy unless they are complaining about nothing !

The chicken satay was utterly revolting - aside from being fried instead of grilled, it was undercooked! See pic - I hope we dont get food poisoning! The laksa was one of the worst ever - thin and tasteless - nothing to do with laksa as we know it, and tasted like it was out of a can. The Rendang was at best mediocre - not cooked medium hot as requested (in fact not hot whatsover) - and pretty bland and uninspired. Totally underwhelming. Food made with no love or pride. Incredibly disappointing.

Worst experience. Don’t go here, asked for chilli chicken fried rice got home and not a single piece of chilli in the meal. Called them for them to say they don’t cook the chilli with the chicken fried rice it’s to spicy like that.. when I order I asked extra spicy extra chilli. Don’t shop here you will only get disappointed. Unsatisfactory

A last minute plan to try this place out as most of the places were closing down, no wonder this place was crowded but that wasnt the only reason for the crowd. The place is what I would call a hidden gem as the place is along a number of restaurants located at Norton street. During my time, I tried the Vietnamese fried rice and chicken garlic & pepper stir fry. Both the dishes were amazing and I would love to try more in the future. The price is also very modest which makes it even more appealing.

Reasonably priced, fast, many varieties, fresh veggies, good flavor, large portion! If you live in the area I'm sure you'd be going here weekly at least :)

Come here on a regular basis.  My Partner is hooked on the Pad Thai here and never orders anything else. I, on the other hand, have had everything on the menu at least three times.<br/><br/>The young lady at the counter is always very pleasant and very helpful.<br/><br/>The food is great and so is the service. That's why we keep coming back.

It's conveniently located in the busy street of Leichhardt, pricing is average for city-based.<br/><br/>I ordered a takeaway Vietnamese fried rice, requested for chilli which was forgotten. Luckily I checked the bag before leaving. It lacked alot of flavour also. There was only Sichuan sauce on the table, fair enough. Meat was tender and decent.<br/>Not bad but not recommended out of the other eateries close by. If you feel like southeast asian food, this place isn't bad.

I'm a little surprised by the high ratings for this noodle bar. When I've eaten here the food has been OK but nothing more than that. I tried their takeaways once or twice then gave up on them.

The green curry was delicious - smooth, creamy and spicy. At one point I managed to steal a prawn from under boy's nose, and while the curry was divine, the prawn wasn't the highlight. I had Gary and George (from Masterchef) in my head telling me that I shouldn't be served a prawn with a 'poop chute'.<br/>

Been coming here for a couple of years. Always a great option when you want something inexpensive that also tastes good. Good comes out pretty quickly and tastes nice.

Fresh, fast and good food.... Potentially one of my favourite restaurants on Norton, funny not being italian, but we all know it's not that great here any more, ha :)<br/>Been here probably 40 times... their Singapore noodles rocks, had one pretty gross fresh prawn spring rolls, but once outta 40 ain't bad. All the food just feels really fresh and really healthy, pretty cheap too... I normally get an extra serve of vege's in them, and meal is enough for 2 people for around $12. Definitely worth a try!

Great pho soup and canton fried rice, spring rolls, lamb curry and the list goes on. This is favourite take away in Leichhardt.

Amazing. I had my first visit tonight. I had takeaway and the food was enjoyable. I had the Laksa soup. It came in two containers to keep everything fresh. I would love to go again.

Great!. Very friendly staff! The place is also very clean. I love the chicken pad thai, especially because of its price ($7.50-9.50 depending on size)! I would definitely recommend.

Had a very yummy lunch there today. Some fool has pressed the "restaurant closed" button. It's not true. Fresh, immaculately clean and delicious. Some of the dives in King Street could learn from this place. Well worth a visit!

New and tasty. Mekong is a welcome newcomer to Norton St's Italian dominance. This unpretentious little Asian place is not far from Parramatta Rd and well situated near a bus stop. Eat in or take away delicious food prespared with fresh ingredients. The Canton Fried Rice is full of high quality BBQ pork and giant prawns. Not too salty and the serving is generous. Large size is $9.50 and is enough to feed 2. Just the thing for a late rainy night on the way home from work.

New little asian cafe at the beginning of Norton street catering Thai, Chinese, Malaysian and Vietnamese. Reasonably priced and recommended!
