Review Mr Q's Restaurant Leichhardt - Leichhardt

The food here is excellent!! Highly recommend. We are regulars and order at least once or twice a week. Always fresh and tasty, the staff are friendly when you call them up. Sometimes the food may take some time for delivery but it is definitely worth the wait. The chicken curry and salt and pepper fish are a family favourite!

Always fresh food. Have to try Mr Q fried rice. Best in Sydney inner west. Mongolian beef is my go to, just delicious.

Very poor food. I was on a food high from giving the Twisted Indian 5 stars earlier in the week. If you want good Chinese, go to Fantong on Norton. It is quality and Mr Q is far from it. I ordered for 3, myself and 2 boys aged 11 and 14. They have eaten honey chicken from many places and both wanted that. When I arrived a few minutes late for my pickup they had the order wrong so I had to wait for about 15 mins for them to make the rest. I paid $87 for 2 serves dumplings, 2 honey chicken, mongolian beef, fried rice and boiled rice. I asked if anyone checked the serves before they were bagged and the excuse was that some of them had bad eyesight and usually they just get one order for each serve. V poor excuse. The dumplings and mongolian beef were actually not bad - 2 to 3 stars. The honey chicken was the worst my kids had ever eaten and they could not stomach more than a couple of mouthfuls. We will never go back.

Been ordering from here for years, am SICK of the dreadful delivery service, will never use again. Due tonite @ 6:50, arrived, cold, 7:30 after TWO phone calls & del driver who could not understand instructions over phone, instructions WHICH ARE CLEARLY WRITTEN ON ORDER anyway! Always are! Worst service in Sydney, they've lost me.

I really like the beef rice noodles here and the chicken pineapple fried rice. Service is quick.

Sampled their fried rice, sweeet and sour pork and short soup and all items were absolutely delicious and speedily delivered. Thank you Mr Q's, will definitely be ordering again in the future - give them a try today! e

Best Honey Chicken in Sydney! Loved the Mongolian Beef and stir fry vegetables too. Good old school Chinese, large portions, great taste.

Mr Q’s is an institution all on its own. It’s the good old Leichhardt Chinese go-to for your Sunday hungover self or a midweek “I can’t be bothered” takeaway when you’re in the middle of that god-save-me-from-the-fresh-hell-that-is-my-work mood.
The honey prawns are a guaranteed life saver.
Enjoy it and thank me later.
You’re welcome.

Fried rice and dim sums are good, but I haven't found a main dish on the menu that I thoroughly enjoyed. My partner loves the satay chicken as it's the sticky kind and not the saucy version, which is surprisingly hard to find, but I still haven't found my dish, and I have had a lot of them! The batter on the honey chicken is not crunchy, but more resembles the batter on cheap fish and chips. The lamb in the lamb and garlic sauce was mushy as if it had been over cooked and the steak in the tender steak in oyster sauce was way too chewy. I'm on the verge of giving up on them...

This is place is gross. I ordered a honey chicken which was the only edible dish despite the face the batter was almost of water consistency; the noodles were cold before they arrived and poorly cooked. We ate about three bites between us and had to throw it out. Would not order again, even took 1 and a half to be delivered on a Wednesday night!

This is a great local Chinese restaurant. Always a good standard of food, decent portions and prices. Best Chinese in the Inner West. The chicken chow mein and satay beef are highly recommended.

One of the most boring chinese I've had in a long time. It took a little bit over an hour to be delivered. Food just didn't have enough flavours. Plenty of better ones out there.

Ordered take away. Wait was approximately 40m, which is standard for take away. Unfortunately the food was sub par. The chicken in the fried rice and chicken sweet corn soup was terrible quality with gristle. The honey pepper steak left alot to be desired having no discernable flavour of honey or pepper. Eat here at your own discretion, but as a fan of Chinese cuisine I do not recommend.

Now if the mortgage screws are pinching, for a date night restaurant of different sort, head to Leichhardt’s old Bar Via Veneto site. Expect your garden-variety local neighbourhood Cantonese with the regular ring-ins thrown in - like tasty Mongolian Lamb ($12.90) . It sits well over a steaming plate of Ginger Egg Fried Rice ($8.90) . (I'll be returning for this next time I have a cold...) They even create their own signatures dishes, including the “ untranslatable ” (according to our personable waitress) War Tip Har ($10.90/6 pieces) . It turns out to be a splayed prawn topped with a diamond shaped piece of ham, set on toast then deep-fried. As much as I wanted to like the generous plate of Salt and Pepper Eggplant ($9.90) , it was let down on the day I dined by the use of slightly green eggplant. Szechuan Chicken ($9.90) could have been hotter, but with a smile, our waitress quickly produced a bowl of ‘eat-with-care’ red bullets. Now before you go screwing your nose up and say

Disappointing - 1hr 50 min delivery time. We were recommended to try this restaurant by a family member. Tonight we ordered home delivery online at 7:09pm and were given an expected delivery time of 7:53pm via text message. 15 minutes after the advised delivery time I called to follow up. Apparently our food would be delivered in 10-15 minutes. Nope. 20 minutes later we called again. It's on it's way. 15 minutes.... Nope. At 8:45pm we called again. We were told that the address was wrong for a previous delivery and ours would be with us in 2-3 minutes. The food arrived at 8:50pm, almost an hour after we were told to expect it. It was lukewarm. One of the containers had leaked and the spring rolls were soggy. The pork was dry.

The last time we called we were offered a 10& discount for next time. There will not be a next time.

2hr wait for food. We ordered home delivery and we were told 40-50mins wait.
Rang after 1hr to be told another 15 mins as they were really busy
Rang 20 mins later to be told another 15 min as they were really busy
Rang 15 mins later to say if not there in 10 mins we would cancel the order... and it arrived 10mins later on the dot.

Poor service, food wasn't a stand out. Not going back.

Epically slow, everyone seems a little confused when we try to chase up our order after an hour and a half

GOOD. Pretty good taste , Had honey chicken, sweet sour pork, and roast duck .
Gypsygirl
Not very good. I thought i'd try it out and move away from our regular chinese but very very disappointed. Bland, all the dishes tasted the same, over cooked. Don't bother

Average. I ordered the spring rolls, roasted duck in plum sauce, honey king prawns and rice for just under $40 delivered.

The spring rolls were small and tasted like they came out of a cheap frozen packet.

The roasted duck in plum sauce was surprisingly tasty and well cooked. The bony bits on every piece however made for messy eating as I kept having to pick the weird bone bits out of my mouth! Lucky I was at home not in a restaurant on a date or something.

Last but not least, the honey king prawns were a bit of a disappointment. They were overcooked and there was not much of a honey taste.

Took about an hour for delivery on a Sunday night.
